Joan Laporta, chairman of La Liga football giant Barcelona, said in an interview: Recently, blockchain products and services such as NFT and Metaverse have received a lot of attention, and we should be able to provide our members and fans with Digital products that align with club values and create a fun emotional experience.
In addition, Laporta also announced that the club is looking into launching its first series of NFTs in Barcelona as soon as possible, but did not provide further details on the subject.
It is possible that Barcelona will launch a cryptocurrency issued by the club itself, rather than the already available fan token issued in partnership with Socios.

I think this is a great idea. Members and fans of FC Barcelona will be able to get digital products from the club. they're doing this to get funding, which is not surprising that more clubs will do the same in the future. Fans will have the opportunity to own things from the Club digitally, but could they have them because they are interested in the future benefits they could achieve?

FC Barcelona's president and the board of directors said a few days ago that the club "rejected a 70 million euros deal with a cryptocurrency company (exchange) because of how risky and speculative this sector is" ^[1]. And that's fair, not every company understands and trusts the crypto market, but, they're gonna do a 180 and turn to the NFT market now? Wtf?

It's good to see if barcelona FC will consider to issue their own token rather than use socios fan token. The fact that if the market is still on the disaster today. The club will have more freedom to control their own token rather than trust the 3rd party to maintain their tokens. This gonna be a good thing for sure. NFT will be good if this club will give its NFT owner as ability just like get a discount for the merchandise and many more.
I think that NFT can also be included into the barcelona proof of ownership that will be categorized in the merchandise. We know that barcelona has very big user base and this can be a good advertisement if this club will be doing it.

I have also read this news, I fully support big teams like barca launching their NFT. barca is one of the biggest teams in spain and the world with huge global fans, so I'm sure they will be very successful if they release NF, but they have to issue a special edition NFT (limited NFT), so that fans who buy can make it a long-term investment.

Can't say am not surprised to see those big names getting into the Metaverse ecosystem, Am still finding it hard to believe about Apple, the rest of them I have read something about it, perhaps, the next big name to see on the list will be Google  ;),  it will be crazy, soccer games will do well in the metaverse space and Barcelona just jump in early.

The sporting world has taken the NFT hype to a whole new level as majority of the sports are launching their own version of NFT, we already have NFT released by Ethernity for Lionel Messi, Pele, Luka Modrić and i have heard news from Dana White planning to launch their version of NFT for UFC athletes and Wwe wil be following up with their stars as well. Majority does understand the hype and running along with it and if Barcelona launches their NFT it will be a success without a doubt.

In 2 to 3 years from now if these companies above are able to successfully build and launch there metervase, it will be huge, the entire crypto space is getting widely spread, through metaverse most big companies are coming in, most of the big football clubs are creating their NFT for their fans, the other day I saw PSG ad on Twitter with one exchange (can't recall the name now) it was great, PSG already have the fan token.
It is good to have Barcelona on board, am sure they will do well.

Doesn't the club already have its own fan token, the Barcelona token? what happened to this token ? NFT and Metaverse are indeed quite hotly discussed and quite popular in 2021-2022, for a Barcelona club to make their own crypto, it seems quite good and first club, but will it be useful in the future when NFT and Metaverse are still fairly new because of the hype.

That's really a huge news for Barcelona fans. First it launched the token and now the NFT. Things are looking good for Barcelona fans.
I am not really sure what Metaverse has in store for Barcelona but as far as NFT is considered it can launch a lot of varieties in the NFT space.
I am quite sure that when it does launch the NFTs it will be a hit and they will probably earn in millions for their NFTs.

Having a token and NFT is like what might most companies do today. If Metaverse is going to be a trend in the future then everybody wants to be in that world. NFT will make more money since people tend to buy these collectibles for unimaginable prices. The price of thier token is $8.18, not every token can maintain a high value I guess for it was once more than $50. But every team has die-hard fans that will eventually buy the NFTs.

With problems Barca is facing now this is a good way forward. I think it will be a success for them.

any football clubs out there that are making money from their merchandise should be selling NFT for real because these kind of NFT that was licensed directly from the club itself gonna be selling for quite a lot of money honestly.
the market for some random NFT could be moving in this niche because we see the supporter base of this sport is really huge and even it covers the entire planet.
if these football club could make a great decision out of this, they could quite literally make millions but maybe thats just my 2 cents, because I just see so big opportunity being wasted by these football teams and just letting this moment getting missed like that is such a big waste.

I think with that NFTs, cryptocurrency has gotten a chance to be the another innovation that will be used as part of human daily lives. Barcelona fans asked for it and many of them are willing and ready to pay for those rare and unique NFTs from their beloved club.

I'll expect other clubs to do likewise thereby pleasing their fans and also raising funds to support the club.

There are already fan tokens and aside from that, this generation of NFT for their fans is a good development.

The progress that everybody would like to see because it's coming to the point that they want to have anything that's related to the club. Most teams are likely aware of NFTs and crypto and fan tokens.

If they start issuing it, for sure that a lot of people are going to rush and get it because many are interested.

With the NFT, I think it is a positive innovation made by the Barcelona club,

Barcelona football club has been experiencing financial problems lately. The club needs money to return to its glory days. They may have put the metaverse and NFT developments on their agenda to stop this financial recession. Because they can earn large amounts of financial income from here (So they can breathe a sigh of relief). I think fan tokens have great potential. They can gain serious momentum after the pandemic.

It is only a matter of time before other Clubs will be joining this NFT/Metaverse hype.
I can understand the significance of NFT to these Clubs, because they do have reason to exist.
So yes, this will be a very good source of additional income to them while they are recovering from this pandemic effect.
They have good following already, so implementation is just needed so these fans can reach out to them in this new way of connecting to people.

To provide additional costs for Barcelona who are currently lacking in terms of finances at the club, I think this is a good way to use Blockchain technology in NFT. Where they can make NFT artwork for their players with a limited number and prices that are also in accordance with the quality of each player. Why not? but have you thought about what kind of NFT concept will be launched? Wouldn't it be great if they had a plan that would make their fans willing to spend money to get their favorite NFT player collection?

Big football clubs are now partnering with cryptocurrencies because they generate very good income. Regardless, these are risky choices for the investor, but Barcelona will make an easy profit  :)

The NFT trend makes every field follow it, so it's not too strange if it happens in the future. The potential for the metaverse still needs time to properly gauge the trend. Personally, I think this trend will continue to be something many industries exploit.
And in the future there will be many other clubs or sports sharing about NFT, but always look at the product's meaning :)
