That is a very good point. If that was in any other area other than Africa I would consider relocating. Thailand is rather Libertarian, clearly their are exceptions but for the most part not bad. Swat valley in Afghanistan isn't Africa. Very libertarian place too. No martial law here right now... :) Daily life for the average person however is rather libertarian. Socialism/welfare state/nanny state/police state style of government has not spread here yet. Except for the tiny issue of fredom of speech, sure you're free.
