I am going to be honest with you. Most people here are in to earn something, and you may not get any Developer or for this matter a serious developer working for free for your DeFi project.

Your project has to be established, huge, having a working product and open source if you are to have any chances of volunteers helping you out. Take an example of coins like Bitcoin. But if it's just a start-up with no working product or no guaranteed future, forget about it.

This forum has a few programmers but it's hard to filter them out because there aren't many. Instead of hoping for free tutoring from a programmer, you sign up for more relevant community forums that are dedicated entirely to programmers eg stackoverflow, reddit sf, etc. You mayn't take long to get answers to each of your questions

You will surely get people to help you, but they are all selling their merit (in their fields, not the "merit" on their account profiles) to feed their families so I doubt you will find someone who is professional and reliable enough that dont take payment for their work.

Now you will surely get some wannabe newbies PMing you about the job, but in most cases they dont even know the basics of any programming let alone program an entire DeFi project.

Depending on what your vision is, if you want to recruit a long term and reliable team, you should pay them in cash or kind, maybe bitcoin or altcoins before making a deal.

For free for this task? No one will spend their time doing so unless they have the same vision and belief as you.
That's what you need to have in finding these people but I doubt it that you'll find them as soon as possible and what's better take is to have a budget and start hiring someone to work this project out.
Do not expect someone to do programming tasks for free, maybe there will really be a volunteer out there just to add this work on their portfolio. But do not expect quality outcome.
