Title: Starting my crypto journey, hope I'm in the right place
Post by: Z390 on March 26, 2022, 12:25:15 PM
Is this section the right place for a newcomer to ask questions because I don't know, but it says beginners and help, hope I'm right?

Is there anyway to increase my IQ about which crypto project to invest money on?
I make 400$ every month and I can save up to 300$ per month what exact amount is good for crypto project investment?

Can I ask a question about a crypto project on here? For example DASH?

Do you think that crypto will survive 5 years to come?

There is a lot of questions on my mind but I want to take a step at a time, so guide me and correct me in any way possible.

yes,  you are in the right place bitcointalk forum especially the beginners and help is the right spot for questions and answers.

You don't need anyone to tell you how much you need to invest on, it's a decision you Take by yourself but remember always invest on what you can afford to lose.

I believe crypto especially Bitcoin can survive more than  5 years and even more.

Always feel free to ask your questions you are in the right platform. A home full of knowledgeable people.

It is very difficult to answer your questions because we are all different, we have different circumstances, levels of knowledge and experience, and different goals in life.
I advise you to research and analyze the crypto industry well before any investment and never invest the money you need for personal life. Only invest money that you can afford to lose.
I personally think that crypto is here to stay and will not disappear, only trends in the crypto industry will change during time.
It is important that you set specific goals and have a clear exit strategy before any investment and stick to it.

Of course, this is the correct section for newcomers to air their inquiries.
Is there anyway to increase my IQ about which crypto project to invest money on?
Now the term "crypto project" is very broad, i am guessing you know there are quite a lot of "crypto projects", some of which would be successful only in the short term due to hype, others are pump and dump projects/shitcoins/scamcoins, etc, there is absolutely no way to wrap your head around it and know the one that is going to be successful. But if you narrow down your choices, i can suggest Bitcoin to you, it is nothing like most of those coins i mentioned above, it is a long term project with an actual utility, it is neither a get rich quick scheme as well, so as an investor you will have to be patient. As a beginner, you can read this thread for a start, there are many links that will be of help to you there:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5156874.0
I make 400$ every month and I can save up to 300$ per month what exact amount is good for crypto project investment?
If you make a decision to invest in Bitcoin, then i would tell you that there is no fixed amount that is good for investment since we all earn differently, but since you make around $400 monthly, then the DCA (Dollar cost averaging) technique would prolly be best for you to start up your portfolio, what is DCA? Read it here:
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/dollarcostaveraging.asp
Can I ask a question about a crypto project on here? For example DASH?
I personally do not know anything about this project, and i do not trust it as it falls under the mass of "crypto projects" i explained to you above, if you want to find out more about that project, ask in the altcoin discussion section, here is the link:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
Do you think that crypto will survive 5 years to come?
Like i told you, "crypto" is too broad a term, so many crypto projects would not survive that long cause they are short term projects, but Bitcoin definitely will, read about Bitcoin in the link i sent above to understand.

You are welcome, you said you safe 300$ per month? You are the only one that can answer your question perfectly, let me ask you this, how much are you willing to lose per month from that 300$? 10? 20? 50? That should be the amount you need to invest in crypto because we can't deny the fact that crypto investment is risky, Do you want to have a good sleep at night? Invest only what you can afford to lose.

That is why most new comers ends up lossing their money all the way is because most of you only wants investing and get profit.

If you have social medias you'll find this kind of groups where they are shilling some crypto claiming it will "go to the moon", "exceed bitcoin in price" and etc. These called signals, some paid some are not, but mostly they just shills it telling their followers to invest this and that. It's the same here, if you keep following what you just read on social media or any forums, you'll end up broke.
The thing is you don't need to follow anyone because it's their opinion which says this and that.

What you need to do is to learn it by yourself, How? To educate yourself, learn how crypto works, read the news, check existing projects that came to success after a year or two, and also new projects where opportunity and unfortunate comes, also on how projects solve existing problems and etc.
From this, you will find your answer on what crypto or projects to choose and to invest,

Some important threads and websites:

Good luck.

You're better off doing a lot of reading rather than asking specifically about individual investments.

* If you like reading articles: https://coindesk.com/learn
* If you like reading books: https://theinternetofmoney.info/
* If you like watching videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPQwGV1aLnTuN6kdNWlElfr2tzigB9Nnj

If you want to get more technical

As for DASH, well.. I don't even know that the project was still alive.

LOL. I laugh to keep from crying.

Let's hope we got there in time and the OP doesn't fall for it.r that. He wants to invest 75% of what he earns in DASH, a shitcoin that has all the look of a pump and dump scheme:

https://i.postimg.cc/TYMJTS3M/Dash.jpg (https://postimages.org/)

On top of that it is a shitcoin that was forked from the Bitcoin protocol. (https://g.co/kgs/LjYbSo)

OP, do your own research especially on the difference between Bitcoin and altcoins, which we call shitcoins. If you go to the altcoin forum section you will find many tips for investing in shitcoins like that, but I and many believe that there is nothing in the crypto world better to invest in than Bitcoin. Maybe it's not going to give you as much return as a fancy shitcoin in the unlikely event you get it right by choosing the shitcoin, but it's safer and has intrinsic properties that are much better than any shitcoin.

First of all let me welcome you to the forum. Yes, this is the right board to ask questions. To start your cryptocurrency journey any amount is good if you have the ability to bear loss if in case your principal amount goes down. To discuss other cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin you can follow this Altcoin discussion board  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0). Always remember that before investing in any project you need to do your own research.

let alone the next five years, the next 100 years crypto will still survive, if this world still exists, it's not the end of the world.

Basically, if someone is already into the world of crypto or digital currency at its core, they only think of investing and trading, IQ upgrade no one here can vouch for you for that, plus you're talking about coins (DASH).

Generally, people here do something in crypto investing and trading, based on their own heart and mind, if you feel confident that the coin you choose can increase profits of course, you can do it, you need to know detailed information about the coin of your choice it is very important to determine your future and profits, the team, founders, investors, market and development of the coin are very decisive for you to have a definite increase and profit.

You are in the right place actually since there are so many discussions towards everything about crypto here also you would provably find some ideas which can help you about your investments the only thing you need to do is to research about past and new discussions since many ideas can you get there from the discussions made by forum users.

Also if you look for sure profit well we cannot assure that since no one can predict accurately so just rely on your research on this since sometimes other suggestion might not good to you.

If you also ask about if crypto would last for 5 years then my answer is this will provably stay for more than that as crypto is now made as alternative to fiat so most provably more adoption will come unto it.

You are in the right place, and I hope you get the answers you are looking for.

Is there anyway to increase my IQ about which crypto project to invest money on?
There is no need to increase your IQ about crypto projects, but how can you understand what crypto is. If you want to invest your money in crypto, you need to know how so that you will be on the right track.

I make 400$ every month and I can save up to 300$ per month what exact amount is good for crypto project investment?
There is no right amount to invest in crypto projects. It will all depend on how much money you are prepared to lose because investing in crypto is not always profitable. But if you can hold your coin when the price is falling and buy again and wait until the price goes up, that's where you get the opportunity to sell at a high price, and that means profits will come to you.

Can I ask a question about a crypto project on here? For example DASH?
Dash is one of the good coins, an old coin that still survives and has a strong community. You need to find out about Dash if you want to invest in that coin. But if you don't know or are confused about where you can find that information, maybe you should just invest in bitcoin and forget about altcoins until you really have the experience and knowledge to help you choose the right altcoin for you.

Do you think that crypto will survive 5 years to come?
We believe that crypto will last for the next 5 years, even for a long time.

Perhaps, $100 as capital for beginners is enough and this is actually an advisable amount. But if you have more and can afford to risk it, there is no problem with that. In fact, small capital - small profit while having a huge capital - possibly earn more.

Do you think that crypto will survive 5 years to come?

I have heard this question long-time ago but look, crypto had already existed for more than a decade, that obviously it was answerable by YES. Well, the question is that if all crypto were able to survive, that is something like misery and I know that many of these crypto projects that have been created today will go.

Dash isn't performing well if the basis is through its chart.

You make $400 and you can invest and save $300 per month. That's actually an impressive way of living, you're living and saving as much as you can and I guess you have no other obligations and that's why you can save that amount.

What you can do is to invest that amount into bitcoin monthly and keep doing it and you already do the DCA strategy.

To start with, you are at the right place. This forum can teach you anything you want to know about cryptocurrencies.
- If you want to know about projects that will last or that will still exist after 5 years, I am only sure of bitcoin. But there is a board called altcoin discussion, it is where projects are discussed. You can visit the board.
- About how much you can invest, I think you need a financial advisor for that purpose. You know how much you are willing to lose and that is what you should invest.
-  You don't need to make an investment and leave it for 5 years, you can be monitoring it and when the investment is bad you jump out of it.

Firstly I would like to second majority of the advice you have received above. Get yourself educated first then you can make better choices. Jumping right into investing is one of the biggest mistakes newbies make that cost them opportunity of profiting more in the future. When you're enlightened you won't let your emotions gets the worst of you, you'll be able to make better decisions as you know the advantage and disadvantage of whatever choice you intend making.

Secondly, don't put all your savings into bitcoin, keep some for emergencies Incase there was to be any situation that needs funds, you won't be tempted to touch your investments. Dollar cost average your investment and put a specific amount monthly until you have been able to save/invest alot to satisfy you. Don't rush the process, first you learn before you earn. Don't try to do it the other way or you'll regret.

Feel free to ask anything you feel you need clarity on that's the primary reason why we're here, to get informed information and clarity on things we aren't clear about.

Crypto looks very promising, it has survived a decade, I believe it will survive even more than that coming as for the best amount to save, that decision is in your place to make, you'll need to make proper research on how the market operates.

Yes. You’re at the right place. I would suggest that you complete your education first. Start with reading about the market online. And don’t continue until you have full knowledge of the market and risks associated with it.

You only need to search for some articles you want to know, use the forum search feature before asking a question.
Because I'm sure all your questions have been asked in this forum.

If you want to invest in crypto the most important thing is research. Don't spend your money on investments you don't know about.

Any amount is fine if you are ready to bear some few losses because altcoins are highly volatile compared to even BTC, as a newbie its better to just buy some BTC for now if you are in haste and then start learning more about altcoins and what makes them have values.

You are wrong because actually bitcoin also has the same properties as thousands of other altcoins that are equally volatile. You can't convince others of an investment that has made you profitable until they really understand how the market works.

I agree bitcoin has more potential than altcoin in the long term, but you have to be willing to be a long term holder rather than just relying on short term speculation. You also can't really profit from bitcoin if you don't fully know how to control your emotions, manage capital, and manage risk during volatile markets.

Any amount you can afford to lose is fine. Despite the volatility of Bitcoin, I would be more comfortable as a newbie buying Bitcoins than altcoins reason being it takes a lot of experience to know the real projects and the scams. It is easy for a newbie to fall into the follow the herd group this is where scammers take advantage. You can never go wrong with Bitcoin, it's true altcoins made some newbies who didn't have a clue what they were doing billionaires, bear in mind investing in shit projects also made many homeless.

Im not sure if your IQ will increase here but it will definitely help you grow your knowledge on bitcoin and cryptocurrency. IQ isnt something we can boost easily and  you can use that idea to earn more on your monthly savings. But trading crypto is kinda risky so you must be ready to take some losses too.
