Title: 12GB/6GB RTX 2060
Post by: Cuda911 on March 27, 2022, 08:33:09 PM
RTX2060 are of two types? I don't know lol 😆  today I saw one with 12GB and one with 6GB, is there any advantage in mining hash rate differences between these two graphic cards?

the 12gb is a newer version simply has more ram.

so far i have not got better than 30mh with it.

The advantage of the 12Gb 2060 will be noticed in high-end gaming on PC but not mining, another thing you should know is 12GB is more future proof for mining than 2060 6GB unless ETH is swapped PoS algorithm.

We never know what is coming after eth goes pos, only firo and eth need more than 4gb at moment, people can always check it if in doubt about dag size at this website https://minerstat.com/dag-size-calculator , eth dag fie is almost at 5gb.

Meaning my rigs with 6GB graphic cards won't be able to keep up in a matter of one year and a half, that's lame though as I intend to keep mining for many years to come, from now on I will start avoiding 6GB memory graphic cards.

Wrong, it is not only more vram on this card - this 12gb card is combination of 6GB and 2060 Super - Same shader and RT cores like the 2060 Super, but only the memory interface of the normal 6GB variant - 192bit = result in a hashrate up to 35 - 36mh with the same powerconsumption like the 2060 6GB
Why people spreading false information - it is no problem if you didnīt know something and when you are to lazy to search for the right answer - but then don't write something

About the 35 MH you are getting on your RTX 2060 you are actually right but don't forget that some people are worse when it comes to finding the right timing and OC for their graphic cards, this person may be getting 30MH on their 2060 like they said.

I have 12 evga cards they do 29 and 30 mhs

they are 12gb. now if you can give me the settings for my evga to do 35 or 36 mh I will try them. and I would tip you if I can improve from my hashrate.

maybe it is because I do smos.

if you notice I have all 12 cards set to -200 core 100 memory and 95 watts

but when you look at the readouts the watts on the cards are all fucked up

I will try this on windows next

I am getting 111 watts and 34mh on windows nice hash .

So I think both linux hiveOs and Linux smOS need driver updates

will play some more on windows as I think it is best for this gear.

it is pointed below to test it.

I have a RTX 2060 doing 34MH and taking 77watts on ETH mining, my config setting is 1050mhz on core clock,  2370mhz on memory clock with power limit set to 120, I'm using hiveOS by the way.
