Title: My new A2000 RTX Rig
Post by: TreyARC on April 07, 2022, 10:22:38 AM
I got some new RTX A2000 after seeing a build with these cards at my friend's but mine are all blower style GPU like my friends yet the rig shuts down on its own after a few hours of mining, what could cause this?.

Take a photo of your mining farm from different angles so that you can see all the connections.
If the mining farm is turned off, then the protection mode is triggered. This is probably overheating, but we need more data on the temperature of the processor and video card chips.

Blower style GPUs are hard to cool, you need a server case for better results, if you have another open frame mining rig nearby it will affect those Blower style graphic cards, learnt this when my brother had a vega 56 8x blower style mining rig.

These A2000 runs super cool though at 75w each but as already mentioned we need more information on the setup etc to determine the issue.

This A2000 now mine ETH @49-50MH but this needs some modding and also changing the thermal pad with a top notch or top-rated thermal pad, the video is available on YouTube.

your mobo pcie slots may not provide enough power.

or do you use all risers. if you use all risers how are you sending the power to the slots.

sata,molex,six pin vga.

remember the a2000 is fully power by the slot and the slot alone

about 65-75 watts per slot.

so risers with six pin pcie jacks are most likely the only way to run them.

unless you have a minerdude rig which is riser free but allows up to eight pcie cables to plug into the mobo.

Using cards that don't require additional power connections is not a workaround for an underpowered PSU.
If the PSU doesn't have the power connectors it's because it doesn't have the power. Trying to cheat with
power never ends well.
