Do you need a multicurrency wallet or not?

The best solution is a hardware wallet connected to a mobile or desktop wallet.

It is very convenient because in its interface you can trade on Binance without KYC.

Ledger and Trezor, which is compatible with many desktop and mobile wallets.

Well, in my case, I generally prefer mobile wallets because they are easy to access and convenient to use.
You carry your mobile everywhere you go but you don't carry your desktop everywhere you go.
But at the same time we must make sure that the wallet we download on our mobile is a genuine one.
Opensource wallets like Mycelium are generally better than other wallets.

Desktop without a doubt. Most mobile is not as advanced as the desktop wallets. They mostly lack of important featues which the desktop wallets has. Depending on the platform/device you use, either can be more secure than the other however. For example, I would prefer IOS (mobile) to Windows (PC) but I would also prefer Linux (PC) over both IOS & Android (Mobile). To me it goes like this: Linux > IOS > Android = Windows

I seldom use a mobile wallet but I do have one although it's easy to use and you can carry it anywhere but being online most of the time since I'm a work from a home guy my go-to wallet is a desktop, it's more secure for me both have advantage and disadvantage, the most important is where you are comfortable using it when you are trading but a ledger wallet is still the best choice you are fully protected from this kind of wallet.

Depends for what you need it. If you need only to have all the time access to your wallet then mobile wallet is best option for you. For other purposes use desktop.

I will always go with a desktop wallet as for me it's safer than a mobile wallet.

However, there are wallet providers that would let you link your desktop wallet to your mobile wallet, I think this is safe because if you lose your phone, you can still access those in your desktop wallet, but you have to be aware that taking care of your desktop wallet is more important especially if you have files that are required to access your wallet if you decide to open your wallet in other devices.

I prefer desktop over mobile wallet caused by i can encrypt it easily rather than use mobile wallet. The problem is when you are using mobile wallet and you are using your personal phone that used for the daily activities and you will not know whether you have been clicking something that looks suspicious or not. This means your wallet will be targetted by scammer to be hacked. so many hacked cases happened in the mobile wallet instead of desktop wallet.

Basically it comes back again depending on what we need and indeed both a mobile wallet or a desktop wallet have their respective advantages and disadvantages, it's clear,
but indeed for me personally prefer the desktop wallet and it's more secure,
even so we also remain careful

If the question is in terms of preferability, then I would say that I prefer to have a mobile wallet due to its convenience. In addition, my mobile wallet is connected to our local exchange where the convenience of converting my said BTCs to our local currency can be accessed anytime in order to purchase products/services; or even pay bills; or directly deposit the funds in my bank.

Though this may be the case, having a desktop wallet is far secured than having a mobile wallet. Though the most secured is still having your respective hardware wallet, I still prefer convenience since most of my BTCs can be transferred easily with one push of a button in our local exchange mobile application.

I prefer both as sometimes I use them outside. But if there's a need to pick then I prefer a desktop wallet too.
Mobile wallets usage for me is mostly for sending or receiving (funds don't stay long) while a desktop is mostly just receiving which means it's just merely storage. So you could say I mostly use the android application rather than the desktop which I open rarely just to check the balance making sure the transaction was completed.
I think it's more secured in the desktop wallet too.

I love both, I even back up assets in both places. Because it is quite important when we adjust the needs. However, the wallet on the phone might be a bit of a priority when we go out and make transactions. I think it will be adapted to the needs and conditions of each of us. For example, this is the display that I use, although not all of them have assets from time to time I will definitely need them.

I prefer mobile wallet instead of desktop wallet. It's caused by i can maintain it anytime without need to access my desktop wallet and i can bring it anywhere and i just need to open my phone and i can interact with my wallet and see what's the condition with my portfolios. The fact that if desktop wallet was good but it's not so easy to be used unlike the mobile wallet that can be used by anyone. You must also aware about that if these days the users from the mobile wallets are also seeing the rapid increase. They can trade anywhere easily as they can also access the dex with their phone.
You must also think about your mobility when you are using the desktop wallet. The mobile wallet is much more easier to be brought with you anywhere

It's true that I need both mobile and desktop, this is what I need when I go out at work, so I always use a mobile wallet when I'm out at home, so a desktop wallet is what I like with a wide and easy reach when doing transactions or whatever we need.

Since I also can't compare the two, they are both needed on mobile and on PC, so it just needs to be adjusted which one according to the OP is more efficient for this.
I think all wallets are now more practical to use in various things.

Desktop and Mobile Wallets both have different advantages. If considering of security, undoubtedly desktop wallet is the best. I would like to recommend Trezor hardware wallet and also you can use SafePal. But i feel very comfortable to use mobile wallet and i'm familiar with mobile wallet because i can access my wallet in anywhere if i will carry my Android mobile. I'm always using Trust Wallet for mobile.

It actually depends on usage and scenario. Even if you are choosing mobile wallets, you shouldn't be storing a large number of funds over there, especially if the phone is your main phone and you are using it for daily usage.

Since you are trying to seek out only based on open sourceness, choosing a wallet that is inherently developed by the altcoin developers itself should be better compared to another multi-currency wallet. But if you are trying to use it for tokens, then I don't think Metamask is a bad option, despite their many issues.

This is indeed true, there are pros and cons of having desktop and mobile wallet. But if I may suggest, if you are using mobile wallet, for convenience purposes mostly, better store only small funds or just right for your on-the-go thing as it is prone to loss. You can never be sure that it will not be misplaced or lost at some point. And when it comes to desktop wallet, it depends on what coins or tokens are you going to store, metamask for me is indeed not bad to store your tokens. Whereas, you can use electrum for your bitcoin holdings.

Desktop wallet will obviously good because they have lots of feature and strong security also but in my opinion mobile wallet also a good thing for all time use because you cant carry your laptop all the time even sometimes we need urgent pay but you cant hold your laptop this time so i will suggest more than laptop wallet mobile wallet will best for use.

I use the trust wallet mobile wallet, supports almost all common blockchains, convenient and easy to use, and on the hardware account, I use ledger nano s, attracts with its accessibility and wide application, I have not observed any problems with this wallet, it has been on the market for a long time and has proven itself well.

Personally, desktop and mobile wallets adapt to where the token network is located. Desktop Wallet does have a lot of open sources and you don't have to go through a lot of pages when you want to connect to it. While mobile wallets are mostly like when using Metamask, sometimes having to open multiple pages and connecting them to the mobile version of Metamask is a bit tricky.

If you have to use desktop wallets please and please dedicated that PC for wallet only, do not install any browser on the PC, I think this is more safer this way than using such PC for browsing on the internet, the fear of malware attacks is why I'm saying all this.

I would not use a mobile wallet, because it is not a safe solution to store your funds, especially if we are talking about an Android phone. At most, it's a mobile wallet for making some small crypto payments, and that no more funds come in. I choose a desktop wallet paired with a hardware wallet. In my opinion, this is the best solution in terms of management and security of your cryptocurrencies.

I only use mobile wallet when I am aiming to buy something in a store that has crypto payment method, which currently is non-existent around my area. One mobile wallet I use has some quite convenient feature of giving me a credit for my network service provider in order to send SMS, so that is pretty convenient in my end and I would take it in any way.
I don't really use desktop wallet a lot except that I usually isolate it in a separate machine that is only for crypto purposes only and not to be used for browsing.

In the end, it depends on the usage of each.

I prefer a mobile wallet, why? because I think when I have a mobile wallet, I can anytime and anywhere to make transactions, unlike desktop wallets, I have to open a PC first to execute transactions. As far as I know, AtomicDEX (https://atomicdex.io/) is the best desktop wallet, because apart from having a non-custodial wallet feature, AtomicDEX (https://atomicdex.io/) also has a DEX feature in it. You can trade decently and this wallet supports various blockchains.

Both are good but your needs will be the main factor when deciding which one to use, personally I am always looking to have my coins as secure as possible and as such a desktop wallet is the best option for me, I do indeed have a mobile wallet, however I seldom use it as the opportunities to use bitcoin where I live to actually purchase something are incredibly limited, so most of the stuff I have bought with bitcoin online have been bought from my PC while using a desktop wallet.

I use the both of them. Mobile wallet is portable and you can carry it anywhere unlike desktop wallet. If you the kind of guy who currently checks his portfolio then mobile wallet is suited for you. I use the desktop one because some features isn't found in mobile wallets, aside from that the screen is bigger. I have metamask, crypto.com, trustwallet in me and I am also using some 4 different exchanges with small amounts of coins.

mobile and desktop wallets are options that we can customize according to our needs.
for me, mobile or desktop wallets are the same because both are open source.
currently for me the best open source wallet is metamask.
this is a very easy to use wallet for desktop. adding tokens, coins, network is also very easy
I think metamask is a solution for those of you who like to use a desktop wallet.

I prefer desktop instead of mobile wallet. I can't deny that if mobile wallet much more easier to be used in our daily activities but i care about the security of my funds and keeping all of my tokens in the my PC was the best idea so far. There are so many opensource wallet. If you wanna go for the ethereum open source wallet and you may go with MEW. This wallet is opensource wallet that can be used for another chain that was also compatible with ethereum blockchain just like BSC, AVAX and many more.
I think that MEW was also available in the mobile form too, that will be a very interesting wallet for you. im sure about that.

Both.
When I go outside, I'm loading my mobile wallet just in case that there's a need to spend for some things that I might like. It's not the whole holdings that I go out with.
But I'm loading it up so that I have some balance also for extra money. For desktop wallet, if it's for bitcoin then the best choice would be these wallets.
- Wasabi
- Electrum
That's just for bitcoin alone and if it's with the altcoins, you choose whether they're the multi currency wallets or the wallets alone like myethereum for eth and so on.

Mobile wallets such as TRUST wallet are proven to be very safe, I have used it for more than 3 years and have never had a problem, while my desktop wallet has been hacked, currently I strictly limit the use of desktop wallets, if the transaction is complete, I immediately switch to a mobile wallet.

I prefer a desktop wallet because I'm actively trading, some desktop wallets that I usually use are Metamask, and other Chrome extensions, as long as I use a desktop wallet I never encounter any problems, because I always make sure that the PC has antivirus protection that is always updated so that when a malicious program enters it will be blocked automatically.

I have both but I seldom used a mobile wallet, only for convenience. I'm more of a desktop wallet user since the beginning of my crypto journey.

Perhaps it's due to the security as well, we all know that a mobile wallet can be lost or and most of the time you are online and you don't know, maybe hackers are just around the corner. Or maybe you slip up and uses a public wifi and we all know that they can sniff everything.

Mobile wallet is more accessible for me. The fact that I'm able to have access to my wallet on transit thrills me more. I've read comments on how disadvantageous a mobile wallet is but I'm yet to experience any issue using it. I like to keep my stuff simple and I guess that's why it works well for me. No unnecessary clicking of links on my phone. If a link doesn't show a secured url, I avoid it no matter how someone told me the site makes juicy offers or could be the next best thing to the Nigerian jollof rice. That's my simple method for years and I believe that's why I haven't caught any malware.

IMO, I think it depends on your personal needs and purposes because both versions of desktop and mobile wallets have their own advantages and disadvantage, for example, a desktop wallet is so big and heavy that's why it is not suitable for mobility while a mobile wallet is more convenient to use because you can bring it wherever you go so that's one of the advantages of a mobile wallet but in terms of security I think Desktop wallet is more reliable compare to a mobile wallet.  But again it will be based on your purposes and needs that's my stand about it.

Desktop wallet has more features other than just sending and receiving cryptos, it featured signing and verification of messages for authentications, I used Electrum and Metamask desktop both has friendly user interface, while I also used mobile version of Electrum and blockchain just for quick access to wallet for a quick transactions while I use the desktop wallet for a more complex task that can't be access via mobile wallet in a nut shell I used both desktop and Mobile wallet.

To be honest, I have never used a desktop wallet again, the last time I used a JAXX desktop wallet. Now I switch to hardware wallet.

For quick access, I only use a mobile wallet, namely a trust wallet.

When it comes to security, hardware wallets are superior to desktop or mobile wallets.

I prefer to use a wallet on mobile because putting a wallet on a mobile is more effective because if we can open the wallet whenever we need it, especially nowadays many desktop wallets also have applications on mobile wallets so I look for efficiency when using a wallet.

To be honest, I don't know which wallets are open source and which are not.
I tested Metamask from the browser wallets and from the mobile Trust Wallet.
In my opinion, Trust Wallet has much better security and is easier to use. I mean, as far as I know, Metamask is also good secured, but the browser doesn't have to be secure so good. In my opinion, the weakness of the browser security makes Metamask less secure. Of course, mobile can also be sensible to viruses or attacks, but a smartphone (even a new one) can be bought for quite little money and we can set up only a Trust Wallet on it. Then we can be sure that it will be completely safe.

I vote for trust wallet on mobile devices because its easier to access, you don't have to be at home before you can make a transaction, I love desktops and I wish my wallets are on desktops but on desktop PCs wallets aren't safe due to easier PC hijacks and click baits, this is way harder on mobile phones so mobile wallets are more safer than PC wallets.

I personally use both Desktop Wallet and Mobile Wallet, there's not much difference between these two but I use Molie Wallet more often, why is that because Mobile Wallet is lighter and can be carried wherever we travel, than from Desktop Wallet maybe everyone have different opinions and in Mobile Wallet you have to be careful in choosing the Wallet application, personally I use several of them, Mainly Trust Wallet, and Tokocrypto.

Again I think desktop wallets have more open source wallets than mobile, which desktop wallet is the best open-source wallet that you know of?
Similarly, the Desktop Wallet compared to the Mobile Wallet Desktop is much superior in my opinion, in the Desktop Wallet there are many Wallets compared to the Mobile Wallet, and the Desktop Wallet has a secure Wallet that is trusted and proven to be good, not with Mobile Wallet only most of it is safe and good, personally in Desktop Wallet I only use it to check it is a little rare in terms of making transactions or withdrawals, if for Wallets that I often use on Desktop Wallet, namely Metamask and Tokocrypto too of course.

I use a lot of wallets now with two different versions and all of them are safe because I never give away the personal device I use to anyone else and also line it with several security guards which I think are very safe, so PC wallets are still safe to say as long as you know how to use them. and take good care of it.

Between mobile and a desktop wallet which one do you prefer the most and why? Again I think desktop wallets have more open source wallets than mobile, which desktop wallet is the best open-source wallet that you know of?

I only use desktop wallets to safe my crypto holdings that are worth mentioning. I use mobile wallets only if i have to because the project only has a mobile wallet to store your crypto or to let you register your funds or stake it or stuff like that. The reason for that is, that i still think that a Desktop PCis just safer than a phone. I have antivirus software installed on my PC and of course i don't click on suspicious links, i don't join scam airdrops and i also don't reply to scam attempts on telegram or other channels therefore i feel pretty safe with my desktop wallets. I also think that if you are having significant values on mobile wallets then you should probably use a extra phone for that because it is pretty easy to lose your everyday phone at work or when you are going out or something.

I can't say which was better from both caused by im also using both to keep my assets. For people are looking for the easiest way to keep their assets and they will be picking the mobile wallet. They can check it anytime and that's quite different with the PC users. PC will worth to store a lot of our assets caused by some of wallets based on desktop have multiple security measures.
This is totally different with the mobile wallet but as i have so many activities in my daily life and i prefer to take mobile wallet instead of desktop wallet
Mobile wallet is much more complex compared with the PC or desktop wallet.

Nothing is completely safe in the crypto world, everything is possible. For selection, I prefer a desktop wallet because it is more secure. I think the best open source wallet I know of is Ethereum. as long as you never give your Private Key to anyone else. Mobile wallets also have their own characteristics over desktop wallets as they automatically update to the latest wallet version, with the latest security fixes. They also come with an app (Mobile/Desktop) that can help you track balances and confirm transactions.

about this wallet comparisons, I chose to use both to access my assets. I chose a wallet that has applications on both desktop and mobile, I recommend Metamask because it can be accessed from any device, either desktop web or mobile wallet. I recommend that you do not use only one device so that your transaction flexibility can be done anywhere. In addition, using wallet access on both devices can be used as a backup when one device is damaged or lost.

for me i think the best wallet is for mobile, because you easily control your funds. And the best thing in it is you can assure that your wallet is very secured when it comes phishing link unlike desktop wherein there's a possibility that hackers can brute force its system and infact most of the issues when it comes hacking are came from it. . So for me I'll choose mobile.

I prefer mobile wallets because they are easier to access and they go anywhere you go, you cant take a PC with you when you are going away from your home, another reason why I dont like PC wallets is the easy way of getting compromised through internet browsing on the PC, mobile wallets are safer.
It depends, if you do not know a lot about computers then as long as you download your mobile wallet from a trusted source then I would say you have a point, however if you do know how to secure your PC properly then without a doubt it is the safest option out of the two, now this may seem hard to do but it is not, as long as you maintain good habits then securing your coins while using a desktop wallet is something that anyone could do, but unfortunately many people fail at following those steps and they end up paying the highest price for their mistake.

I personally prefer using a mobile wallet because it's more convenient which is necessary, especially for those who often travel. As long as its from a trusted source and secured, I would definitely use it over a desktop wallet. What we want is convenience accompanied by security and safety.

Reality is that desktop wallet is a bit more tough to crack, and it can't be stolen that easily, I mean, sure, your PC could be stolen if someone breaks into your house, but that is a bit lesser chance, whereas if your mobile phone is stolen, that could be easier.

However, at the same time mobile could be going anywhere, you could be anywhere in the world and wouldn't have to carry your PC, if it is a desktop PC then it is already a very tough thing, but even at Laptop level, do you go everywhere with your laptop? Not many people do. Which means that mobile has a better advantage to be carried right in your pocket and that means a lot.

Without someone breaking into your home in order to steal your computer, he can hack your PC and steal your desktop wallet after you download a program or crack that contains Trojan viruses or after a click on a suspicious link, so I see that hacking the PC is much easier than the phone, so I prefer phone wallets like trust wallet and Binance wallet, so we have to keep the private key and mnemonics of our wallet in an external hard drive away from the phone or PC.

For Bitcoin then i do make use both Mobile and PC. -- Electrum
For ERC20 - Then Myetherwallet would be a good choice.

There are pros and cons of using desktop wallet vs mobile wallet. However, the security of both lies on the user himself. But on my end, I only use mobile wallet if I need to, and only storing small amount of funds because I have the tendency to lose my phone. So that's one worry for me. When it comes to PC or laptop, it depends on how you will expose your vulnerability to the hackers. Keep in mind not to open suspicious links for possible phishing sites or other unknown sites. Don't disclose also your crypto activities to the public. Better keep it to yourself.

People will their different opinion. My opinion is mobile wallets, because you no need to worry of sending the immediate fund.Incase you had Desktop wallet, the funds receivers had to wait till you reach of your home.Incase your client was not in good mood, they will cancel your deal.So the best one is mobile wallet as compared to my experience.

Well, if you ask me then the best wallets are the hardware wallet where your crypto is secure. However, if you need to know between the desktop and hardware wallet, i will recommend you to go for the desktop wallet. Usually, the desktop wallet has more features than the mobile wallet.
Also since we keep our mobile always with us, i don't feel comfortable carrying my mobile wallet everywhere (as mobile can easily be stolen or lost).

Desktop Wallets more safest than Mobile Wallets, if you are already got hacked may be you clicked any suspicious link. I would like to prefer you to use Hardware Wallet, your assets will be more secure and especially if you have big amount of assets then you should use Hardware Wallet. Mobile Wallets is very handy because it’s very easy accessible at anywhere.

if you use an iphone and download a wallet from the official app, how safe are you if you have clicked on links or even opened files from your iphone though?  Or let say you preview a document on an iphone but do not open it.   Possible your iphone is hacked/malware where you typing anything on phone would be a concern?

Thus imagine downloading a mobile wallet and it generating a seed.  You write it down on paper.  You send coins to it.  But if you have any malware or keylogger on your iphone, couldn't that person see your seed that was on the screen?  Then basically enter the seed on their own wallet?

Malware does not only apply to iPhone because malware is also available on devices that have internet because all this security only we can prevent in various ways, so mobile or desktop wallets are equally vulnerable to malware if we are careless in carrying out activities on the internet. So both mobile and desktop wallets are good and it all depends on the user which one is more comfortable to use and according to their needs.

While desktop and mobile wallets serve different purposes, I prefer desktop wallets. Desktops are more robust and will probably last longer in terms of durability of the gadget, while mobile phones develop faults easily IMO. While it is important to save your seed phrase whether you are using mobile or desktop wallets, it is easier to loose your mobile phone than to loose your desktop. It is more critical to save your seed phrase if you are using mobile wallet. Though, there are a lot of future potentials for mobile wallets, I will prefer to hold smaller crypto assets in mobile wallets while bigger crypto assets can be held in desktop wallets.

If holding is the purpose, the contents can be larger and should go to a more secure wallet IE: desktop or hardware. (this is also good for staking purposes.)

You said that wallet is very easy to use on desktop, yes it is true that it is very easy to use any wallet on desktop but you also say that using wallet on desktop is safer than all. It just depends on the plate you are using because its application is the most secure if hard security is complete and if not then full of risk.

Not everyone like you has a desktop so it is not possible for everyone to use a desktop wallet.

I am a mobile user. I use Trust Wallet all the time. And the two most secure mobile wallets I have seen are the multiple wallets: Trust wallet, Metamask wallet.

It depends on your goals, if you prefer to pay in person instead of online, you need a mobile wallet and if you are going to make regular payments it is best to keep your money in a wallet that is easy to use and access. And mobile wallets and desktop wallets are also viable options.
however I don't think a cell phone is a good idea, while a wallet may be relatively safe, any mobile device is relatively unsafe, in terms of the possibility of being physically lost or stolen, compared to other crypto storage options.

MEW seems the most preferred wallet for ethereum and erc 20 tokens but if you have multiple currencies then I would say go for a hardware wallet which is more safer than any other wallet. While talking about mobile wallets its not really safe because we may be affected with malware simply by installing an application or even through clicking the links.

Computers and smartphones are both devices that are constantly connected to the internet, they are very vulnerable to hackers. So always be careful when using these 2 platforms, it is best for each investor to equip themselves with a hardware wallet to ensure the safety of their assets.

Depends on you if what suits you. Are you outgoing? Then mobile wallet is the best for you but if not and you mostly hang out inside your house then desktop wallet is the way to go but for the both, both wallets are also needed. When it comes to if it's open source or not, I think most of us didn't care at all. Most of us are not into a more technical stuffs but what important for them is that they can store a crypto or have a place where they can send or receive their coins.

Most importantly they will use it as long as it's a popular brand because security is always next to it but anyway I search the web for the best open source wallet and mew or myetherwallet is always on the list, maybe this is the best among all? I have been using the wallet since 2017 and I have no problems so far.

Even though we are connected to the internet, it is not easy for viruses to damage the devices we use because desktops and smartphone have virus detectors, but we must be aware of the possibility that will occur by carrying out a routine scan process to avoid viruses. But the high level of security remains in hardware wallet.

A desktop or a mobile wallet are just tools that we have at our disposal and it is up to us to use them for the appropriate purpose, when it comes to long term holding, a paper, hardware or desktop wallet are the best options as you can keep them offline and if you can secure your physical location as well then the chances you will get hacked drop considerably.

However if you want to spend some of your coins at a local business then that is where mobile wallets shine as you can use them to buy whatever you want while you are away from your home, however I would never use a mobile wallet to store my coins long term as smartphones are online all the time, which gives hackers many chances to steal your coins.

A hardware wallet is a good option however if your capital is small it does not make sense to buy one as it would take a good portion of your savings in cryptocurrencies , however if you have a decent amount of capital invested in this market then it makes sense to buy a hardware wallet or two, just make sure to keep them updated as there have been a few cases of people that did not do so and it was not possible to update their hardware wallets anymore.

Mobile wallets are very convenient to use, you can easily open and transact where ever you are but still you can have both depends on the transactions that you are going to do. If BTC transactions, Electrum wallet is the best for me and that is only available on PC so i have no choice but to use it. Metamusk and trust wallet for my mobile phone, they are both ok as well.

Desktop wallet is open source indeed, you can get the source on github usually, even some mobile wallets are open source too.
I prefer to use mobile wallet when i want to buy and sell coins. But if i want to hold the coin, desktop wallet is good because i can use it as a cold storage. Depends on what purpose we want to use, we should choose the wallet accordingly.

You can't use any internet connected device as cold storage, it's still vulnerable to hacking attacks. And you can't deny not to use it because all desktop wallets need the internet directly to connect to the blockchain network.
If you want cold storage, buy a hard wallet (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5282364.0).

No wallet is bad to hold the coins unless we do negligence in using it but personally I hold my coins in the hardware wallet that is more secure than other wallets because it requires the permission to process the transaction and that can be done when we attach the hardware wallet to Laptop/Computer. If you are a long-term holder then you can consider buying a hardware wallet otherwise mobile wallet is good to use.

I don't see much difference between a mobile wallet and a desktop wallet. If you're careful, there's no problem with either one. But I agree that it is better to use a hardware wallet for more security. Still, the most convenient to use is mobile wallet, because you can transfer your coins at any time, while to use hardware wallet you have to go back home to your computer.

Between mobile and a desktop wallet which one do you prefer the most and why? Again I think desktop wallets have more open source wallets than mobile, which desktop wallet is the best open-source wallet that you know of?

It depends on the nature of your needs.
I mean, what currencies do you intend to store? And how do you intend to use it?
If you intend to store bitcoins, for example, I advise you to use the Electrum wallet in the desktop version and the mobile version for daily use of small payments.

For the rest of the cryptocurrencies, I advise you to use the official wallet for each currency and avoid multi-currency wallets because they are necessarily central wallets.

Compared to desktop or extension wallets, I prefer mobile wallets, because mobile wallets are easier to use and easy to carry anywhere. Trustwallet is the one I use the most. and for security I prefer to use safepal, this wallet also has a binance trading service without having to use a binance account. so I don't need KYC for transaction there.

I believe most people would prefer mobile wallet when it comes to portability because we all know mobile phones are way much easier to carry compared to laptops or pc's. And talking about security, I think I can say that security really depends on who holds it and what type of wallet do you use. Mobile wallet apps for sure will always have that security feature for us to protect each of our funds. And ever since I have used mobile wallets, I haven't experience yet funds being lost or stolen. But I also use desktop wallet sometimes. It depends on what I want to access. But I still prefer mobile wallets due to the fact that it is easier to access.

They have advantages and purpose, and that is why I have them and used them both.
Mobile wallet- it seems very accessible anytime and anywhere we go, unlike with desktop wallet.

An electrum wallet user here installed on my desktop and a non-custodial wallet for my phone. I'd say they are the best crypto wallet I used for many years and I don't think about changing unless their services are no longer acceptable until they are still reliable and kept my funds safely.

Personally, I prefer using a mobile wallet because of its simplicity and ability to be used anywhere, especially for people who are often on the go. However, if I want to keep a large number of assets on mobile wallets or desktop wallets, I will not choose them. Instead, I will choose hardware wallets because of their better safety and security.

I am more comfortable using a mobile wallet than a desktop wallet where I think a mobile wallet can be opened anywhere as long as there is internet and make transactions anytime without having to open a computer

It depends on your ability to secure your computer, if you do not know anything about how to do this then a mobile wallet will be a superior choice than a regular computer, however if you actually have some knowledge about this then your regular computer can be more secure than any mobile wallet, but if you have the money and you can afford it then hardware wallets are the best option as they are more secure than both of them, the only disadvantage is that you need to pay money for them, but the cost is relatively low so that should no be a problem for the majority of the people holding bitcoin.

I have never used a desktop wallet because in my opinion a desktop wallet cannot be accessed in various places and we cannot access it at any time because we are not always in front of the desktop, even though it has more features but I think a mobile wallet gives us convenience in accessing it, and we can anytime and anywhere to access it without having to open a laptop/pc first to be able to access the wallet that we have.

You are wrong in giving your opinion about desktop wallets because for the metamask use case, you can import the same wallet in the mobile version of the wallet so it is more practical to use in different conditions, desktop and mobile are just device issues but not for one wallet because both can be imported if using the metamask wallet.
