Writing beautiful sentences and choosing the right words is one of the best ways to draw attention to your writings. There are many of us who know a lot but can't attract the attention of others due to a lack of presentation. Again, even though it is not informative, the writing of many people is the focus of attention only because of its beautiful writing style.

Those who want to increase their reputation in the forum should try to improve the quality of their writing. From my own research and experience, I would like to point out the things that I think newcomers should pay attention to. If there are any previous posts related to this topic or written on the topic, I will try to add them at the bottom of my post.

• Direct to the points: We often exaggerate a general subject by dragging out unnecessary contexts. When writing something, write as if you were standing in front of someone and talking.

• Sentence Shortening: When explaining something, we make the sentence too big which is totally inappropriate. When the sentence is large, write it down in a few sentences. This will not bother the reader while reading your post.

• Choosing the right word: we should use words that are commonly used in conversation. Your vocabulary may be much stronger but not everyone is like you. So you need to make sure others will understand what you are saying.

• Make your writing credible: Add some evidence to make your writing credible. Maybe it's an essay book, Wikipedia, or video. This will increase the acceptability of your writing to everyone.

• Start and end with catchy sentences: Start and end with catchy words and sentences. Start writing in such a way that the reader is attracted to the rest of the writing as soon as he makes a few sentences.

• Grammatical accuracy: In writing English, grammatical accuracy needs to be checked. Tools like Grammarly (https://app.grammarly.com/) can be used for this. Also using commas and quotations in writing enhances the beauty of writing.

• Don’t use many Adverbs: The fewer adverbs you use in writing, the better. Excessive use of adverbs in writing spoils the beauty of writing.

• Editing: post should be reviewed and edited once before posting. This can be done if there is a typo or if you need to add any information you have missed.

• Exercise: You can read numerous articles on the topic. But if you do not put them into practice, the quality of your writing will never improve. So you must write regularly to improve the quality of your writing.

• Have confidence in yourself: Do not overthink the context of your post. There could be a lot of mistakes that can be corrected. Make the first step for your writing career.

Changed the post title by seeing people misunderstanding the main purpose of the post.

Previous title: Improve writing style to Rank up.
Current one: Improve writing style for user attraction.

Your aim is to rank up, my aim is to get problems solved, either my problems or others' problems, do you know how some Indians used to write? The words might look bad but what they are trying to say might make a lot of sense, I can't condemn someone because of how they wrote a sentence I am more into what they are trying to say.

Writing style doesn't have much to do with forum reputation, but I think you were actually referring to what this fellow says:


I believe that neither one thing nor the other. When we write we have to take care of the style and try to express ourselves as well as possible, always being aware that we are in a forum and that it is not necessary the same formality as for example in a university environment.

On the other hand, OP, it is not very coherent to give people advice to rank up having only 16 merits for 64 activity, people could make easy jokes with that.

It is not the purpose of my post to condemn anyone. I don't even think this post is meant for everyone on the forum. Everyone has their own agenda on the forum.

Not everyone’s handwriting in a class is beautiful but beautiful handwriting easily gets the attention and is welcomed by everyone. So I don't think there is any shame in improving the quality of writing.



This ranking system is meant to keep content creators motivated. The appreciation should be for the efforts not only the content. I already asked for advice at the end of my post and am willing to make any corrections.

With the kinds of guides I see these days in the B/H board about how to rank up, improving writing style to Rank up and how to make quality posts, it seems that the main essence of this forum is far from the understanding of the newbies.
Here is to learn and understanding bitcoin, propagate it as well.

The purpose of this place is not to rank up with no knowledge of bitcoin.

Again, here is not like any higher institution where you write academic journals. Forget all these things and learn about the basics and technicalities of bitcoin.

• Reading first, searching later, reading more and posting if necessary
• Don't post if your post or your OP (opening post of your topic) does not bring anything new.
• The shorter sentence the better because people have limited time to read. In addition, the longer a post is, the more distraction it can bring to readers

I think this forum is a place to gain knowledge. That doesn't mean it must only be related to only Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. I think this forum has many sub-forums based on differences between various topics like altcoin, bitcoin, economy, politics and society, etc. I hope you don't ask me to post about Bitcoin in the sub-forum of politics and society. For this, there is a dedicated sub-forum. It may vary for newcomers and for everyone's knowledge acquisition needs. If you do not find this post useful, you can skip it or suggest how others can benefit from it.

Your thread is useful and its content is also rich. Where I am somewhat not comfortable is that the title of your thread told the whole purpose of the thread. Improve writing style to Rank up.  According to your title, the reason of improving writing style is to rank up. Maybe you got a wrong title for your beautiful write up.

Again, this place is first bitcointalk before altcoin, politics etc. If you are in this space and  you prioritize the knowledge of politics, English grammar over bitcoin knowledge, you should be making a mistake.
Maybe there are forums to improve writing styles and make good English grammar. You can recommend the forums in your topic.
All I want you to understand is that here is for bitcoin and whether you write well in English or not, you can co-exist with others and you can even rank up if you do not understand a bit of English. That is the beauty of this forum - local boards.

To be honest I also hesitated when writing up that title. But I was very confused to choose what the title should be. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share. I will change the title. The priority of the post was how someone could improve his writing skill to that level so that others may feel comfortable and attracted to read his post every time he saw his name.



Thanks for your suggestion. You can see my id is still pretty new and I am still learning. Right now I do not think I have enough knowledge to write about bitcoin. So I am taking my time. In the meantime, I am just trying to make a tiny contribution to the forum where I have little knowledge.

AFAIK, the quality of the post is not determined by how well your post style because it is actually accurate information and the benefit that can be taken is something that determines the quality.

I know you struggle for merit and rankings, but for something as common as this, I think you'll have a lot more trouble getting it. Try to learn about bitcoin and something specific, it will help you grow faster.

There is need for proper writing and I somewhat agree with you, but not for the purpose of getting higher ranking , I believe it's not the major reason why some people are here. Therefore, reason for proper writing should be in order to properly pass the information to readers understanding, because you might be making a lot of point in your writing,  but base on the fact that your writings are not properly arranged, it becomes a little bit challenging for readers to graps.

To be honest, there is alot of sence in what you saying, most of us have alot of idea and educative ideas but we don't know how to put it into writing, your post will help alot of people, I'm sure of that. No knowledge is a waste afterall.

OP, you tried and it shows. But you must also understand the reaction of the people who wrote to you above. You teach people, although I cannot say that you yourself have the ability to beautiful writing, otherwise you would quickly rise in rank. ;D

Guides similar to your lessons on the forum have been written thousands of times, and everyone understands why this post was created. Do not forget, we are on the Internet, where Google will give thousands of recommendations for the query "how to write posts correctly". Why is there another one?

I do realize that it was not an appropriate time to write this down. I saw some newbie asking for a similar topic so thought why not create another one and add the previous post that is related to that topic.

After seeing so much negative feedback and also realizing there is already some good post about this same topic I am locking this topic now. so I appreciate everyone's feedback and suggestion and will post something more useful in the future that has real value to the forum.
