Title: Electrum LTC Verification
Post by: jerry0 on May 14, 2022, 05:15:45 AM
Had electrum LTC installed years ago but then stopped using it.  Had reinstalled electrum ltc on my windows pc and did the verification of it.  Don't have any coins on electrum but wanted it on my laptop again.

Now with electrum LTC, is verification still the same?  Want to use it as a small spending wallet for storing tiny bit of LTC... like probably 20 to 50 dollars worth only.

Anyone here done the verification?

I've verified this in the past. Just download the binaries from electrum-ltc.org (https://electrum-ltc.org/) and verify either Thrasher's or Pooler's signature. If you have a version prior 3.3.3, as it sounds you do, update as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT NOTICE (February 2019)

Versions of Electrum and Electrum-LTC older than 3.3.3 are vulnerable to a phishing attack, where malicious servers are able to display a message asking users to download a fake version of Electrum. To prevent user exposure, versions older than 3.3 can no longer connect to public servers, and must be upgraded. Do not download software updates from sources other than electrum.org and electrum-ltc.org.
