Title: a fraud site
Post by: lbfjrmd on June 21, 2022, 07:39:31 PM
DOOCOIN  - a crypto exchange - a fraud - based in Europe or maybe China.

What happened: given link to #DOOCOIN by a social media contact.  Link loaded on iPhone without going thru apps store.  Sent bitcoin.  Made $ mining and options.  Went to withdraw some money by wire. Waited 7 days ... no money. Contacted DOOCOIN help.  They claimed my wire info was erroneous.  It was correct!  Froze my withdrawal privileges.  Told me to send 600k to 'resolve' issue.

What happened: given link to #DOOCOIN by a social media contact.  Link loaded on iPhone without going thru apps store.
It's a common form of fraud. I have seen a number of people say they got contacted by a "beautiful girl" through social media to invest in some sort of coin. It's usually on instagram or tinder.

Which social site did they contact you from?

thanks. will do.

some things you may not be able to write, like chat logs, and reference links (this is more customized for forum users) but be sure to bring out as much information and details as possible. it is also important to leave some proof, screenshot, or an archive of the site... your exposition will have more authority and will play a greater role in the prevention of scam.

DOOCOIN  - a crypto exchange - a fraud - based in Europe or maybe China.
I tried, out of curiosity, to find this website to take a look at it and see if I can find any information that may help but I couldn't. I searched the word "doocoin" in different search engines but didn't get any relevant result. Also, manually typing the word "doocoin" with different TLDs in the address bar didn't work!
Sorry for your loss OP and I can only hope you didn't send them too much money!

enough $ to hurt.  their internet presence is nil.  apparently they use their hacks to distribute the links to install the app.  though I accept all fault, the fact it installed on my iPhone gave me some since 0f it's legitimacy.

There is still too little information to be able to warn other members of this scam.
Could you please provide some examples of these links you are describing, or some screenshots? Please share more about it.

Doesnt mean your report is dismissed or ignored. But we operate on evidence. Post details and scans of the messages. Hide any personal or security details. Add the name of the exchange to the title if you really want to warn people and press them. Post their address. There isnt a clear address for a DOOCOIN exchange. What do you mean by 600K?

seems to have updated the first post, now maybe even more confusing than at the beginning.
He is obviously falling on scam cloud mining or something like this fraud schema. they eventually demanded a deposit from him to allow him to withdraw  :o

OP, can you update info on where exactly you found this doocoin, do they have any site or contact address? who passed that link to you?
I mean, only you know about doocoin, you must help us to recognize it somehow.

sorry that you lost some money but why the hell would you send bitcoin on something that you know nothing about. just curious, are you still able to access the app? if so, would you mind taking a screenshot of it? not sure if it would help you or anyone but it would still be better to have something to reference. also, 600k of what?

What makes you think they're based in the EU or CN?

Sent bitcoin.
To which address?

Contacted DOOCOIN help.
You might want to post their contact details here!

Also, manually typing the word "doocoin" with different TLDs in the address bar didn't work!
Same here... I was able to only find "an old archive from DOOCOIN.org (http://web.archive.org/web/20180822210207/http://doocoin.org/)", but I don't think they're related.

their internet presence is nil.
But you mentioned contacting their support! What are you seeing after "@"?

now maybe even more confusing than at the beginning.

Exactly!

could someone direct me to instructions of how to post images on this forum.
Use a platform like "ImgBB (https://imgbb.com/)" to upload, then copy the links here.

It was link to app from chats on a dating site.  never met person.  screenshots coming as soon as I figure out how to attach them.

I have already seen a similar case here. you met a wonderful person on a dating site who accidentally revealed to you how she makes easy money. now that you've tried it too, you can't get in touch with her anymore.

it’s still all very confusing because we only have one screenshot of the chat. It's amazing that you decided so uninformed to invest there.
I think the best what you can do is to report this app to Apps Store as a fraudulent application, they should remove it. Even though I can't find it on my iPhone store, I believe you took it from "other" places which further raises the question, how the hell did you believe that?

Lol, you should have known better mate, I come across this kind of sites almost everyday mostly from pretty girls private chatting me on telegram also know as Telescam, though I don't know how you came across this site but if it was some one you don't know that introduced it to you, then you should have know better like I said earlier.
Even this days, it is no longer safe to click on random links sent to you by anyone mostly on social media, even if you know the person sending the link or trying to introduce you to an unknown platform, be very careful because it is possible that that persons account has been hacked , and the hacker is randomly chatting the friends of that user whos account they've hacked, it was through this strategy that a friend of mine lost about $320 to scammers .

sorry for your loss by the way, I really hope it wasn't a lot of money, and thanks for sharing here so others can learn.

Given that your rank is still newbie, the images you post in the forum with image tags won't display until you attain at least a Jr member rank

though I don't know how you came across this site but if it was some one you don't know that introduced it to you, then you should have know better like I said earlier.
He said, he got the link from match.com. It's a dating site like Tinder, when you look at it at first glance.

I Google it and it's not showing anything would you mind following the right format you have been advised to do so and still you're not following, it's been over 5 days, can post the link with the protocol, it's a new exchange the community is not familiar with it and I wonder why have you not done research on a new one and why trade in a low and unknown exchange if there are good ones in the market, you really want to take a risk on a new exchange that hasn't prove anything.

You did not succeed in providing enough information about this exchange for members to be able to avoid, but the mistake seems to be your fault from the beginning, you did not tell us how you got to that exchange, also how do you deposit your money in an unknown exchange? There are dozens of well-known and trusted exchanges, so what made you choose this one? If you want to expose this exchange, it is important that you explain to us how you got there so that members - especially new ones - know the ways scammers use to lure and deceive people. This is very important so that people know these methods and do not fall victim to these fraudulent sites.

The link you received on match.com, was it from a particular "alternative" app store or just a link from a file-hosting service?
- If it's the former, you can easily report it so they would at least take it down and prevent new users from installing it!
