Even if some official social media account of any of the institution promote cryptocurrencies, giveaways or NFT, don't fall for it. By the time make a clear analysis and go further. Yesterday the British Army's Social media accounts were hacked and more scams were promoted. It is always good to stay safe as hackers are always in search of possible ways to scam common people.

Basic rules don't change

• Be careful with any link or email from strangers or strange sources, especially if it contains financial incentives.
• Don't click on strange link if you can not verify its source

• Keep your mind neutral and avoid being greed with invitation from strangers

Damn! Hack means they have very bad password and very bad security. In addition, this account belongs to British Army that is a very bad news. How a governmental, army force can have too bad security like that?

Its so sad, I mean if a country's ARMY account hacked, then what else is remaining. Then where is the common people security. Need to be very secure and  understand how accounts can be hacked?

This is the same of what I remember about a teen that has hacked all of those famous celebrities twitter accounts.

Big money were able to scam from their followers and the tactic was very simple and popular. But their followers have believed the scam because it was posted on these official accounts of popular personalities.

Facebook & Twitter treat them as any ordinary account, and have lax security measures for them.

They can simply place extra security measures - an extra ring of defense - after those accounts log in, like Twitter did with Trump's account (which was ultimately a wasted effort, as they banned him a few years later).

I can't help but laugh at this. The British Army minting their own NFT collection and giving away free Bitcoin through Bitcoin doublers. They should have posted a fake "join the army" campaign and promised 1 BTC for all new recruits. I wonder how many would have signed up. Data harvesting at its best.

No matter who promises to give your free money, they are lying. If you think like that, you can't fall for any kind of online scams. 

Such problems are more common in telegram . Scammers are constantly promoting different types of phishing links and different types of scam token sale and they put these links in the telegram and it is seen that after 2-3 days they delete their telegram account. We must be careful of these

There is one easy way out of here. Social media is evil. Check the news from official sources, not places where anyone can call themselves Elon Musk or anyone else.

In addition, what makes you think that now, and especially now at a time of terrible prices when almost everyone has begun to save a lot, a gift promising a big prize will fly to you? A prize means some sort of free giveaway.

Does anyone else believe in miracles? Then let them not be disappointed when their wallets are empty, or accounts are broken.

Being safe and guarded is an utmost self-care. The rate at which scammers operate these days is becoming worrisome. There's no way to stop it rather precautionary measure be put in place to be on the safer side. As a digital guru, you should know that unknown links are very suspicious and should be wiped off immediately you encounter such in your mailbox, don't click on links your are not sure of, when typing on search box, type complete and don't autofill to avoid phishing, delete immediately email not recognized.

There's no exclusion when it comes to this on where everything could be hacked as long it do touches out internet things whether you are a big institution or not or something popular or not then there's always a

chance for those accounts to get hacked or exploited which can be used on other means like scamming and its just sad that there are people who do really still fall into those common way of scamming
which it do usually pertains about investment schemes turns out to be falling in category of hype or something in related which followers and audiences could really fall into that trap.

thats why its always been suggested to have that common sense that whenever things offered turns out to be good to be true then its 100% a scam.

No wonder people will believe what scammers tweeted because the real owner of the account was a Bitcoin enthusiast and in Tesla promoter as well.  Her name is Cathie Wood which is considered a high-profile name in British Army.

Have you noticed that the scammer's target is those high-profile names on social media, this isn't new, last year there were a few scams on tweeter compromised high-profile accounts on Twitter?  We should be taking care of our account's safe, double security is a must because nowadays, scammers are getting smarter than us.

I'd also like to add that do not believe anyone with your private keys. And do not believe anything and everything you see or hear on the internet.

At the present people are more conscious than before but still being hacked and will be in the future. If you do not want to be a victim of hackers, you must pay attention to the security issues. This type of attack is more common in people who are particularly unconscious about this security. So if you do not want to be a victim of hacking, provide the necessary security as soon as possible. Not just on social media but in everything like wallet or online purpose which are belongs to you.

It doesn't even make sense when you see some institutions promoting or doing crypto giveaways, this should immediately pronounce a scam to all but I still say it is because of the greed of humans that makes people still fall for things like that.
And the second Issue is that you would have expected the media accounts of an institute like the British Army to be well secured, I guess everyone is vulnerable to these hackers.

Cyber attacks are very common and the best step to keep yourself safe is to not use your crypto wallet on the system which you use for browsing and work.

Keep your wallet on a different system, I am sure it costs way less to get yourself a secondary system which should be cut down from the internet.

That's the best way to secure your crypto.

Although this is meant for crypto newbies, I am amazed at the lax security of the British Army. Its an embarrassment, if you ask me.

The Twitter account hacking is common practice we have seen in recent years and especially they are promoting some crypto related malicious links or scams to empty your wallets.Like in previous years we have seen Elon Musk account hacked and giving double doge for your deposit or Apple official account was promoting this add :

But the security at your end should not be compromised at all like :

You should not fall for such scams easily and do little research first of all

Don't be greedy like getting double amounts of what you submit to those addresses as there is nothing like this in world

What you see on the internet might not be true so try to find out the reality first of all.

Twitter has security for these accounts but you can see they take it down when there are some reports or they find something suspicious like account hack but you should be careful in these matters like why would British Army be involving in some NFT giveaway or crypto part as it sounds suspicious to me when I read it and that's security on your part.

To many famous social media accounts has been hack recently and this kind of news is not new so newbies need to be aware on this since they might get fooled about crazy fake promotions posted by hacked accounts online. We should be more vigilant since its easy to spot a scam since if those influential guys is not into crypto but suddenly their channel post a giveaway then we should doubt about the intention of the poster.

Using the term "sent your btc to this address" is an old trick to scam people and always works perfectly from time to time. New people to bitcoin will try it and hope they can get the reward that is too good to be true. The bitcoin doublers program also works like a charm to attract people's attention and get their money. Maybe some people can really get the reward but do not know how many of them will get the scam. Yes, we need to be safe from hackers by always being careful if we read something suspicious.

I know that hackers are smarter than we can ever imagine but how will they have an access to my system even when I'm using it for browsing and my crypto wallet stuff if I don't view any link shared by them? Am asking to know more because I am the only one that operates my system.  I have never thought about getting another one for my crypto business since I don't have difficulties in the one I git now, I will like to know the dangers of browsing and keeping my crypto wallet in my personal system.

There is a very easy rule to follow in crypto:
- When something seems too nice to be true...well, it's because it's not true or is a scam. Stay safe

One of the ways to be safe from social media is always to get in mind that social media is a place where some set of people are working day and night just for people to fall into their trap.

Their are many links in social media that are not trusted,  that if it should be clicked on can hack devices to get personal information,  one  just have to be very careful that their is nothing free to get in social media,  it is important not to allow offers to let us fall for scammers to get us.

I have to say the bigger the name gets the bigger the hackers would get away with it. For example I have a twitter account as well, and if any hacker ever wanted to hack my account with 9 followers, they probably could and it wouldn't be hard for them at all and what would they get in return? Spending hours on hacking a worthless account with absolutely nothing in it. That is why they do not do it, it makes no sense to them at all and they would rather do something else.

I know this is why that I could feel relaxed about it, because it is not going to be something that would bother me, it would be something that bothers these big names instead, people or organizations.

Hackers have become smarter these days that even those high rank individuals of an institution get to be lured and scammed not because they are not wise enough, its just that hackers are also using fast technology that could take advantage even the most brilliant and smartest individual or even the most solid institution. To be safe from hackers, never click any strange website because it could be the key to disclose all the information you have. And always be responsible for the safety of all accounts, such that passwords and seed phrases should never be shared to anyone.

It happened so many times now, Social media who has a lot of followers and subscribers are prone in hacking. Hackers will drain the amount of money that your account have if it has a revenue and will post some suspicious links such phishing sites and other hacking website that will be a guide to turn the hacked account followers into victims. This also happened lately on BAYC instagram hack where hundreds of eth and couple of NFT were collected by the hacker. These hacks were common in all social media, even discord and youtube are being hacked to be taken advantage of hackers.

Just be careful on interacting on suspicious websites and too good to be true offers in the internet.

Don't trust ANYONE even if it was coming from a known social media account unless it was verified already because of too many cases that many were hacked already. Scams are sprouting nowadays, we should be aware of their dirty tactics and never get fooled by their promising words. We indeed can fight them and able to minimize their functions if we are also helping others by spreading awareness to the community. We need to be vigilant enough, otherwise.

Unfortunately, there is not 100% safe in the network or in online work. There will always be even a small gap for hackers to be able to enter, disrupt, steal, and hack a site, wallet, platform, device, or anything else. Let alone those of us who don't really have a strong security system, official government sites, and certain platforms that have a high level of security can still be hacked.
This is a warning for us to be more careful in any case. Especially not to let hackers know about our whereabouts, our wallets, or our existence and the number of our assets. Indeed, this may not be easy, but we can prevent it by not disseminating our assets or our crypto activities, especially on social media. In addition, we are also more careful to click on suspicious links.

I just want to add some advice that you need to check:

• after guys all above me said that don't click any link that gives by a stranger is very true and never approve it
• too good to be true if someone stranger gives you a lot of money
• if you are still curious double-check the website and check it on WHO.IS so you know piece information about the website if the web relative young never visit
• never fall if there is someone DM you need some help and send you a chunk of BITCoin to your email and they can't withdraw it happen all the time

Hackers are everywhere. So, it is important for traders and investors to be aware of their methodologies to avoid getting scammed.

Hacking social media account have no joke at all, it continues to grow and a lot of known personalities become a victim. This was an indication that we no longer assure the safety of our accounts as one day we might fall into their hands and ruin our reputation in public by using this to scam people.

At this time, we have to be more careful dealing with other personalities especially online transactions as we never know who is that person behind that account. We simply put everything in cautious action, we just proceed once verified and confirmed by the original owner. And we also have to dig deeper to see changing behavior as it was a sign of changing hands.

I used to feel the best Cybersecurity experts are in the Army and now my assumptions has been proven void. Falling for this cyber attack is like a bridge of trust for a common person. Although if the Army chose to do an NFT giveaway to those the defend it is not a bad idea but making their database vulnerable to attack tell bad on their reputation as it concerns their security against the Digital Dark Art.

Double checking links and keeping your keys far from their servers and possibly using newly created email for most of this tempting giveaways can save people from this Callous and malicious attacks 

If it requires you to connect your wallet to receive those free crypto or nft from a website link that they will give, then it is likely a scam. Once you connect your wallet, they will have access on your private key and can steal your assets anytime they want. Refrain also from downloading any files if they told you to claim your prize.

The scammers might have studied it well and succeeded it after a long term preparation. So that's how scammers are very hands on to their operation so that their target will finally bite it with just a single mistake. Now i realized that when it comes to scamming, no one is an exemption. Even armies these days fall to their traps, and if we continue taking every chance to do carelessness, scammers in the end will build the biggest wealth in the world.

Most of the time, those who looks too good to be true are mostly the one with red flags that make it as scams. Sadly, only few people have realized this and that it takes a wise and knowledgeable individual not to fall for victims from scamming. But as they say, the more knowledgeable we become, scammers have always taken an edge. They can always be more than we can expect.

This is why we have to be very observant and careful with our every move once in the internet because scammers/hackers nowadays are getting better almost everyday. It's better if we practice how to safely use the internet to avoid such people in the internet or better to do the basic safety guidelines to avoid scammers/hackers. Let's just educate ourselves if we want to really avoid these bad people because most of the time newbies were only the first victim they will get.

Agree. Don't easily be influenced by any crypto promotions although they are published by popular social media. Scammers can hack or imitate top social media accounts. Scammers are getting smarter, they know how to get people's intentions in varied ways. It is actually not surprising if British Army social media account was hacked, it's not happening for the first time. There have been many cases of hacking top social media accounts before, verified status doesn't guarantee being safe from hackers. So, if any top social media tries to promote cryptos suddenly, we can suspect there is something wrong with that account. Especially since the account never posted anything about crypto previously and has nothing to do with crypto world.

If one is being observant and careful enough, there are things that by just getting on them you will discover such to be suspicious and call for alarm, how will you believe seeing a shitpost from a well reputable person of integrity with high profile and just concluded believing in everything written, there's a phrase been said that is common, _ by their fruits we shall know them" you need to verify things of uncertainties before accepting the authenticity, call to confirm, research about it, and think twice before talking a single step that could landed into problem.

The bottom line is, don't easily trust anyone on the internet and that should be a warning to everyone. Social media accounts of famous people are targeted for hacking because hackers know what they want to get out of it. This is why anyone starting to get involved in the crypto world should be extra careful with any offer, even if it comes from a famous person. But sometimes people are so greedy about money that they don't want to do any verification before they get swayed by an attempted scam or something.

I do not trust a lot of giveaways these days now. Although that could be a negative mindset, I have far more better stuffs to pursue and invest my time for anyway. Sure, I could have missed out opportunities, but surely my security is far more valued than just these giveaways.
Either way, social media accounts are not meant to be private nor secured anyway.

Depends on giveaways since there are legitimately held by real platform and they didn't ask anything in return just for you to participate so its good to join them since we get chance to win without spending. But there are made for scam and used hack accounts and we should start to doubt if they ask something important information like our private key or ask some money because this is pure BS since for sure they will just scam people who believe on their scam promotion.

High-rank officials and influential people are prone to hacking. Now, dealing with these people can't even be sure if they are the original owner of this account or someone has been in control already. As noticed that some just found they got hacked once there is a report from their friends, it is likely possible that scammers had already found a victim using that account before it traces of changing hands.

Honestly, this ruin the trust system that people had built online and it was found risky even if it was your friend or any of the family members.

Hackers will attack anyone and anyone who exposes a weakness will be exploited by them, so it's best to protect yourself. Never click on any strange links, whether they come from websites, emails, or anyone. Always be suspicious of links when someone unexpectedly sends them to you.

Ensure that only one device for crypto work and don't use it for other work and make sure only you can access it, absolutely do not use cracked, non-copyrighted and unofficial software from the product's homepage.

Anyone who believes what's in that picture to be possible is themselves greedy because it takes a greedy person to think there's free lunch out there. Like I said in my post today in another thread that it takes just two things for scammers to hoodwink their prey – Greed and Hastiness. That picture captures both. That last part in the picture Only going on for the next 30 minutes is just to make whoever that's reading it have a feeling that they need to expedite action or miss out on a supposed goodwill of a double return on investment. So, in that adrenaline rush, the victim won't be able to reason or think straight. That's how it has been easy scamming people on that bait.

Hackers and scammers continue to look for all means necessary to continue to stay relevant in this space, as scammers and hackers continue to device new means of scamming the common people, it is the duty of the common people to also device new and stronger means of keeping their funds and accounts safe and bulletproofed from hackers, there is this popular saying that, "if a bird learns to fly without perching, then the hunter will learn to shoot without missing", if the scammers are learning new ways they can scam, we should also learn to tighten the security of our accounts and funds.

With so much hacking going on and hackers targetting well know personalities and organizations it's necessary that you verify posts coming from personalities and organizations you're following, and check what and why they are promoting those projects don't feel FOMO, hackers like you to feel that because they have very limited time.

There have been a lot of this lately, more and more keeps coming up by the day even on the forum and one cannot be too careful enough. Could this be associated with the bear market?
The bear market happens to be a time where people strives to hold more coins amidst accumulating more and still seek other means of making stress free money. This could be what these guys have capitalised on to see potential of success in scamming investors. I guess when the market starts rising, more would come too.
It's of great importance that on needs to take security tips with extremely serious by being more private and concerned. The source shouldn't make you let down your guard.
