The cryptocurrency market has been collapsing since December 2020. In the meantime, one unfortunate incident after another has hit the market. The frustration is even more evident in the way various unfortunate events are happening around the world. The war in Ukraine, for example, has led to inflation in many countries. It is difficult to say when the market will see the light of day after overcoming these problems. For those who want to invest in cryptocurrency, or have already invested and want to avoid losses, there are several things to keep in mind, as different people have different opinions about where the crypto market may turn in the future. Many are hopeful that the market will turn around by the end of this year. If you have to invest, you have to wait a few more days. Because if you invest in a downward market, you will get a lot more profit.

How about DCA? You can just do that. Know that as you are investing, there can be a period of unrealized loss, which means you have not sold your bitcoin and you keep on investing more instead of investing all at once. There are different strategies to investing than just to wait until you mean another bull market.

The first thing before investing is know what asset you're invest and know how to manage your funds to invest it, you shouldn't take a loan or use emergency money in order to invest more. Talking about to wait Bitcoin will goes down and bought at the dip, you're seems doesn't know about Bitcoin. Can you predict when Bitcoin the lowest price in 2022? Obviously you will don't have any idea and trust what does those expert say.

Imho this is a bad advice since the market can very well start growing (any of the directions is just as probable).
I think that the best advice - if one indeed wants to invest - is to DCA. If one keeps waiting for the bottom he may easily miss it and then he may get disappointed that he has missed the train. And when he becomes convinced again to invest... he will FOMO-buy at ATH...

Are you saying that the market will fall again or? the dip is not yet enough?  this could be the limit or maybe you are right when you said that they are many frustrations since 2020. Covid came and bitcoin did numbers after a year. The war just began and soon it'll settle down, many people or victims that got saved through bitcoin donations will acknowledge the coin in the future. Say next year and things will work out fine for cryptocurrency. The world can't be in total peace we are too many to expect such a peaceful world without frustration and war. Though as humans, we don't see things as regard previous actions. As they say leave the past, it belongs there. But, with the look of earlier trends on bitcoin in the year 2021, this is the best moment to invest. Waiting for the price to hit 10k or less may be risky. We saw bitcoin hit 60k during or after a pandemic (according to different countries) so investing on bitcion now is okay. Though waiting for bitcoin to fall again in price like Luna before investing is not advisable bitcoin price has been on that price rate for a while now.

Yes people are forgetting that they are not only one who are waiting for Bitcoins price to come down.
As soon as Bitcoin will reach a great and feasible price to buy, many people will start buying, and hence the demand will rise for which the price will rise.
So according to me there is no perfect time to buy the Bitcoins.
Whenever possible buy as many Bitcoins as you can. You never know when the price will starts increasing.

But, it's quite satisfying if I can buy Bitcoin cheaply and see the price go up again. Maybe your words are more suitable for long-term investment/trading. I think there must have been a good, good time that was when we could get the bottom price. Although it is rarely we can do it. Because our combination of technical and asset management is not 100% correct. We only use technical to maximize profits and minimize losses.

If people support this project on a deeper level, then it really dosen't matter if the buy low and sell high, if the market is up or down. The surest way to avoid losses is to not sell at a loss. Having your portfolio fall below your break even point does not mean one has incurred a loss. The market is volatile, but one constant is Bitcoin has been appreciating in value over the years, you just have to o hodl long enough.

Bitcoin is down about 70% from its last ATH of less than a year ago. That is a downward market.
Waiting for further dips is like trying to call the bottom which isn't exactly possible.

The truth is that over the long term there is not going to make too much of a difference between buying right now or at slightly cheaper prices, the price of bitcoin is already cheap enough so we can justify buying it.

We know the fundamentals of bitcoin are solid and we can buy it for a huge discount, this by itself should be more than enough of a justification to buy bitcoin now, especially since it is below the 20k level, those waiting for the price to go even lower are taking a risky bet, maybe they will win it and they will get bitcoin cheaper, but if the price goes up what are they going to do? Because in those instances people regret their decision and decide to wait once more so the price goes back to its previous levels, and sometimes that never happens which causes them to completely miss the window of opportunity they got and not get any bitcoin in the process.

DCA does not mean finding a bottom so it does not result in buy at the lowest. Sometimes it is but most of times it is not.

With Dollar Cost Averaging, you make plan to use your income and capital for investment on regular basis. The basis can be weekly, monthly, quarterly and you don't try to find lowest price for each regular buying round. It does not a big intention when you apply DCA.

DCA regularly has another advantage: you won't go empty with capital to do it. Exception is when you lose your jobs and no longer have enough regular income that should be used for DCA. With DCA, you can buy at many entry prices, from high to low.

The Best time to Buy Bitcoin and get the best reward is when the market is down like this present one with proper DCA.

Wrong it was not the Ukraine war that lead to inflation it was FED money printing, i.e printing 20% more money in existence just in one year we already know this before Ukraine war. The war was meant to cause a distraction and diviate people's attention from the real cause of inflation.

What is the expected rate of " just wait for the price of Bitcoin to come down."? 12k or less? The difference between it and 20k is not big, but the real difference will be after several years when the price reaches 100k, so in short, what is the right time to buy from the bottom? Today, any delay may make you lazy and you may not invest at all.

There is more price prediction from experts that it'll go even lower to the bottom it have reached earlier. This have made common people with small volume investment to wait for the so said market decline. Why people are waiting for this, because even a small crash will let them buy a little more than what is available at the current price. Missing opportunity will surely make them cry when the price reaches the predicted target in the long term.

Why wait if you can DCA?

If you're going to wait for the lowest, you will never find it out or if you do then you're lucky to have it spot on. But the reality is that, many don't figure it out.

As you wait for the dip, you may miss that buying opportunity as the market is likely about to recover but we don't know, if the fall will come again and if it will make bitcoin pass back lower than $17k.

No doubts for that, that if you come to invest in bitcoin at the cheapest price, your amount of profits in the future will be a lot huge. But somehow, considering that the market is also unpredictable, its always safe to start buying right now or do DCA. That way, you will never miss the chance to maximize your purchase with bitcoin and you'll not miss the best time to accumulate bitcoin at its very affordable price.

Were down just this year 2022 since January (not 2020) while last year the new ATH had reached - such a remarkable moment in crypto.
Though to have seen that the war is hugely affecting the market and pushes it down suffering economic recession. However, in regards to the crypto situation, I can't solely be pointing it to the said war, for sometimes we accept that bear season surely comes after the bull market. We must be aware of the market cycle that is why market analysis places an important role in investing.

For me this is very difficult, you cannot guarantee when the dump will continue. There are also a lot of people telling that when Bitcoin started to dump below $20,000, it will again visit the $13,000 level or worst the $10,000 level.

Another thing to consider about these dumps is the COVID 19, I remember last March 2020 the effect of it when it started to spread, we saw a huge dump on all markets.
But now we are recovering from that virus but why the market is still dumping?

I can say I'm party agree with you because the bottom of the price is not clear yet and there is no sign to say the bearish market is going to be over. all we can do during this time is to just watch the chart and wait for a significant signal of change in the market from bearish which is not going to happen soon. because of many factors and the index of fear and greed says that there is too much fear in the market and since we are facing this situation we must just wait for the price to find the button and be ready for another wave of bullish price movement.

If we want to have the lowest possible DCA, we can invest during the Bitcoin market's lower lows.  This way we can say we bought at every  Bitcoin's Dip.  We don't need to wait for Bitcoin to hit the bottom which is highly unlikely for us to predict.


That is why the majority of the reply here is to DCA.  We don't need to guess for the bottom, it is an automatic buy if the price of Bitcoin hits lower than the previous lowest price.

Bitcoin doesn't have bottom price, lets say the price dropped to $15k. Who can confirm it as the bottom price. The next day it can fall even further, so it is all about a target to be set and wait for the opportunity. This target can be any price that one thinks to be the bottom price. It is good to buy set a target buy order on that price, apart from that it is good to buy on Dollar Cost Average. Because, even if the price didn't reach the target price it could get you bitcoin at the best price.

The 'after the fact warriors' will point out this bear markets bottom very clearly next year or so :)

My plan is to watch the price of the Bitcoin and do absolutely nothing for the next two years. I don't trade, I'm a holder. That's why I cashed out around 80% of my portfolio when the price started going down. Now I will wait for the next BTC halving. It's not a guarantee but in the past the BTC halving was a catalyst that started the bull run. Who knows, maybe this time it will be different. The time will tell.

This is simply not good advice. You don’t know any more than the next guy where bitcoin prices are headed. If you did you wouldn’t even be discussing this with us.  You’d be so filthy rich and on some island somewhere enjoying your vast wealth. As some others have pointed out the most effective way of “investing” in to bitcoin is probably going to be DCA/ Dollar Cost Averaging, as we don’t truly know where things are headed.

Am definitely not surprised to see this very statement, because this has always been the biggest challenge in crypto adoption i.e "When is the right time to buy Bitcoin".  It has been one of the highest search keywords on Google and till today people keep asking the same question day by day. But if am to be asked, I will say there is no right time to buy Bitcoin, Everytime is the right time as long as you plan on keeping it for a long time investment, because just as the price is down now, who knows tomorrow, the price might actually goes up just like it came down. So that's how the whole stuff works. Because even if the price of Bitcoin falls more than this, there are people who will still want the price to go down again before they could buy, so the unsatisfied needs keep on going on and on..

First of all, I think some countries already experiencing inflation way before the Russian - Ukraine war started. This war just add to fuel to the already burning fire.
The problem here is many people just want to hear a date when the market will recover, unfortunately that will not happen, reason why many people will not be able to take advantage of the bear market.
Nobody knows when the market will reverse so instead of the right time it will be better to take advantage while you can.

What else could one anticipated for than having an opportunity like this for an investment, the price is low and the market is good enough for any new investor to set in, by now it shouldn't be a contemplation on when to invest again but rather kw to source fund for an investment because it's appropriate now to invest on bitcoin, I don't think waiting any longer for bitcoin to come down the more is advisable because that's not feasible, what we are all expecting now is the rising which can take off any moment from now.

Yes, but first people should make contingency plans for the worse scenarios. You don't want to end up in the street because you DCA'ed in a bear market although you might have some beautiful gains in the future. I would even make an analogy with the martingale strategy from gambling. By DCA'ing you basically lower the breakeven price of your investments. In martingale you double the bet to recoup the already realized loss while in DCA'ing you don't really double it (but maybe you do). My point is that you need to be careful not to go bankrupt during times of accumulation.

DCA may be effective for people who earn a steady income and can easily adjust their allocation each month to drop money in Bitcoin without having to look at the bottom because this profit is said to be a form of continuous type of profit-taking. However, DCA cannot be effective for people who actually do not have a fixed income every month, so to participate or take part in investing their money anytime and anywhere when he gets a decrease in the price of Bitcoin he will do it for the long term.

Yes, I agree, given that the market is unpredictable there is no way someone knows where this will go.
The economy is down and not just for one country but for most because of the sanction that happened in Russia which is the mass producer of oil that is largely need for almost everything.
For the Bitcoin price, IMO, this is a good deal. $20k each. It had gone far from $60k and we could see the huge difference.
Another option is to monitor the economy of each country to see if there's a good change. But that's a lot of work.

You already missed the trough of this dip. It's not going to get any lower than $19K in this short-cycle (the long-cycle is a completely different matter).

Seeing the price climb steadily up, if there is any good news in the market I expect a correction to $23K else I bet it will just hover around the $20K mark.

More than waiting for the price to go down further or not, what is clear is that it is a good time to buy. The price could go lower, yes, but I highly doubt it will go much lower and stay at levels below $20k, barring catastrophic news. I think the price behavior lately shows that the level around $20k is strong support.

$20k looks to be a strong support. Earlier the support was around $28k to $30k. For a long the price moved within the range and all if the sudden dropped down reaching the price around $20k. From that point it reached close to $17k, and the recovery happened in a much faster way. So, it looks like the price won't fall that down from $20k. Anyhow when it comes to investment it is their choice to maintain patience and look for the lower price or miss opportunity.

We have the DCA strategy available, why don't we use it? There is no need to wait any further for the market when we know that the market is unpredictable and we don't know what will happen next. We've been in a bear market for a while and bitcoin is down 70% from ATH too, if you keep waiting for the bottom you'll probably miss the train and it won't come back for you. If you don't have faith in bitcoin then best leave the market and if you believe in it buy and dca when it drops more.

Well, anyways smart investors will never let the bear season ends without filling their bags, it is supposed we have to adopt this kind of mindset and we all reach our goal and become rich someday. But sadly, it was not - many people still living with doubts and even predicting Bitcoin go deeper.

I don't agree with this because you can't be sure where the low will be. That's why many people invest in the bear market on the way down.
In 2019 people were saying exactly the same thing that you're saying now, that we should not buy and just sit idly by, wait and see and then they all got wasted because at 4k they weren't buying because traders were telling them to wait for 1k. Then the price went up from 4 to 8k so they all thought it to be a bullish reversal and started buying, but it came down and you could see that huge crash when it went below 8k again. Price went from 8 to 4k in 2 days as all those 8k+ buyers sold at a loss.

None of this would have happened if they decided to DCA not wait for a lower/higher price confirmation because you can't be sure if it is a confirmation until the opportunity window had closed.

and the most important thing is how much money you have in reserve. DCA requires a reserve of money that has been prepared, if there is no reserve of any money, wait and be patient.
Buying bitcoins at the price Dip on every drop would be better, rather than having to wait for bitcoin to drop more and keep going down. What is certain is that after the decline there will be an increase, the bull market will also come soon.

Although fear factors and index of fear suggest that the market is still in a bearish phase and shows no signs of ending, but you should also keep in mind that bitcoin's movement cannot look at those factors that can accurately predict how bitcoin will move, we all know it's impossible to accurately predict bitcoin.

Prices are touching 20k back showing the upward trend, possibly the bear trend is ending gradually but it will take time to overcome the resistance at the 21k USD level. Of course the recovery will be a rule, but the point is to hold through the bear market before wrongly stepping into the direction of panic selling.

Fractional buying is what I suggest to every newbie. No need to go all in and further spending all your allocation on a single prices reduces your flexibility to sell at different points during a cycle.

This is specially a thing when the price is falling and you are buying, you will always end up with some fiat at hand to buy even at the lowest low.

The bottom line is that there is never a bad time to invest or buy bitcoin during a downturn, and the challenge is determining when you intend to sell your bitcoins.
and never invest more than you can afford to lose, and now is the right time to make a purchase and although DCA is a great way but I think it is best to buy when you have extra funds and do it gradually as long as the downturn occurs and Hodl to long-term.
it's hard to wait for the lowest price at the right time because bitcoin is not easy to predict because of the decline that occurred due to several factors, and currently the bitcoin price decline is around 70% more, and considering the decline before ATH happened was 85% I think bitcoin price will still go down before reversed direction towards the new ATH which was previously high. I think there was some wrong information in your post .Cause in the last 2020 and begining of 2021 the market is turning to the bull-runn. If you see the chart of btc it's touch the highest price on November 2021. Can say the market is collapsing at the end of 2021.
There is one more thing nobody can't guarantee that tomorrow market will pump or down. And I think the market is already in a downward. I think if anyone invest in btc now he can profit atleast 2x after the bearish . So you can also call that this is the perfect time for investing

When most people tell you that it will go down from here it probably won't at least not straight down without a fake reversal. The majority can't be right because the majority never makes money on the market. If enough people turn bearish and short bitcoin whales will makes sure to squeeze them and make them lose everything.

The best strategy with bitcoin is not trying to catch the top or the bottom but start buying time it halves in value and selling every time it doubles the last ATH. Don't sell or buy everything but go slow and use 30% of your money every time it halves.
Following this strategy in 2018 you'd buy at 10k, 5k and have another 25% in case it goes to 2,5kUSD but it never did. In this bear market you'd buy at $35k, $17.5k and have another 30% waiting in case it goes around 8.5k.

It has been like that. I cannot quite recall the exact post of that Reddit post, but there was a saying that if the first best time to invest was like many years ago then the second time would be like right now. That hit me hard and was quite an eye-opener for people that are keeping on asking when is it the best time to invest in Bitcoin. It is obvious that the price might never revisit the price as it was back in 2013, and that is why  people should take advantage when Bitcoin hits its lows.

Dollar Cost Averaging is a very good strategy in bear market because if you have belief that bull market will come back, matter is whether you spend whole of your capital for investment into Bitcoin as you wanted. Average price for your investment is important. You can use 50% of capital to buy at $20k, 25% at $15k and 25% at $10k, assume all these prices will be touched in bearish months.

You don't have to stress your eyes and spend lot of time to find market bottom. You don't have to worry to miss its bottom. Maybe your average price will be higher or lower than in perfect case you time in the market, but DCA makes your life more easily.

This is an opportunity for new investment; investment at this time will yield good profits after a while if the market returns to its normal stage; however, keep in mind that just because you invested now does not mean you will be profitable in a very short period of time, because the nature of this bear market appears to be for a long time; it may reach the end of this year before fully recovering. For new investors, keep in mind that there is a high risk associated with crypto investment, so "invest only what you can afford to lose."

DCA is the proven method over time, but I wouldn't even do as big of chunks as you suggested. Put in a little each month, that way you can buy even more if and when the price moves lower.

Myself I don't think the bottom has been hit yet, it will probably go under $18k at some point, but even so DCA is the way.

What if before the day, bitcoin takes off? All I know is that we are in the lower region of bitcoin, stop the wait and stop it for good. I agree, prices are dropping once again, today it is touching 19.5k USD and is dipping further. The bear market is continuing and hence these are the times to buy or wait it out for those who have already ran out of liquid cash. In all due time, prices will go back upwards again and once that happens, we can start selling what we bought during the bad times.

People will complain at any price they see, it is human nature:
During bull markets - they complain of too high prices to buy, when they are actually supposed to sell.
During bear markets - they complain of too low prices to sell, when they are actually supposed to buy.

Trading if done in this binary manner, is simple.

It may not be the best idea to further wait for bitcoin to dip down lower and then invest. So far in 2022, bitcoin's price has been on a low anyways, and no one can say when it can suddenly take off. Nor does anyone know when the price will hit the bottom of the downtrend. If you want to invest, this is a good time to do it.

Bitcoin price is trying to edge upwards from now as far as I saw, compared to my last post in this thread - that bear trend did not take off as I was expecting. I assume there is a lot of buying pressure to prevent that from happening. As we go downwards, the buying pressure keeps on increasing and hence the market can bounce back.

While there are chances that we might dip again, the price has touched 22k and upwards of sideways is the only two ways to go for now. If the price dips, we will have to wait before starting to buy again.

True this year has been bad for bitcoin price gradually dropping to lower levels, but there are historical buyers at lower levels, so you can sleep soundly.

I have seen many people are underestimating Bitcoins capabilities, and hence they will regret later on.
I would suggest that this is the perfect time to buy Bitcoins. If you have some savings and want it to invest in for something long, then buying BTC at this point will be an ideal decision.
Soon the bear market will end, and BTC’s price will skyrocket. So yes buy before it’s too late.

Yes you are right bro, throughout 2022 we have seen if bitcoin continues to decline in price from initially being in the range of $40K right now it is at a price of $22K, some time ago bitcoin even decreased to a price of $17-18K and I think that price is a bitcoin's lowest price point this year, and I think it's better for us to invest right now because we if we wait for lower prices maybe we won't get it.

if you see the market of past month itself the price of bitcoin was down to around 15K USD in start of july ant it is near 18K as of today. So the market is already up ticking. Yes there will be breaks and inconsistencies, but overall market is actually showing prise rise in bitcoin. Market has recovered from debacles of celsius and others. So I think now is the right time for investing in market. Why wait invest and Hodl.

It is recovering just that it is not in the tempo that the traders want it to be. While there are events that happen every day not that the effect of all of those are going to have an impact on the market.

Considering the down price of bitcoin, what we've reached now is high and the slow phase of recovering is on the go. We don't know how far the recovery will happen. Anyhow this too an opportunity to buy at a lower price. Same time there are more discussion that bitcoin price hasn't entered the bull market, there is more bearish market changes to happen. So, we can't be sure of whether to buy now or hold for a moment.

If to this we add that the halving is also very far away then it will be very difficult for the price of bitcoin to go up due to its own dynamics, this means that the economic circumstances surrounding it will have a bigger effect than usual, and when we see all the crises that we are facing simultaneously then I would not be surprised if the price of bitcoin keeps going down for some time, but we must not look this as something bad as this gives us the opportunity to buy bitcoin for a discount that will most likely never repeat itself.

That's really a good purpose if they just want to buy it without expecting high returns profits rather they just want to completely support him by hodling some bitcoins to raise its price when the market is not going well. People really do this kind of stuff because they believe in what Satoshi Nakamoto said about financial freedom and mostly these people don't need the money they invested in bitcoins for their essential needs.
