Title: Grin Mining; Hosting Thread
Post by: marcotheminer on July 24, 2022, 05:34:30 AM
Grin G1-mini miners hosting thread.

As it stands:
Electricity rate: 0.15 CHF/kWh. (I continue seeking to lower this figure)
Fees:
Maintenance/management fee: 5% on mining revenues.
Treasury fee: 2% on mining revenues. This will be used for activities that will benefit all those with hosted machines.

When making calculations, if a figure is rounded it is in favor of machine-owners.

Group-buy thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5406703

I ordered three to help group buy and they are coming directly to my home. I am going to be testing them when I get them. I have DHL tracking number  they are due on Sept 12th. I will post a few photos and start a support thread on the miner. My main mine is shut down for a rebuild. We finally got approval for the 260kwatt solar array that was install in August 2022. this means we generate 48 kwatts 24/7/365 via grid attachment.
It is possible I may get more of these and run them as hosting deal with Marco or not, as I am not sure as to the practicality of it. Due to my Clifton NJ mine being a 4-way venture.

Back on point
So far this is looking good. My thanks to marcotheminer.

Note:I had a typo and fixed it:

please note a1 Hashrate LLC2022

is my alt

I just hooked up two of the three units .

I will give stats after a 24 hour run.

these are built well solid metal and look expensive.

The three came fast and cost me $797 which legally beats the import taxes here in the USA.

I am giving the third unit to buysolars’s kid for a birthday gift as she is into mining.

All four of us from the Clifton Mine will be at her party and we will talk about these miners.

As we may want to run lots of them.

As far as I can tell these are as efficient as the bigger model and are cost comparative especially when you beat the import tax with the small models.

Are you planning to hold the GRiN you mine or will you be converting it to BTC/USD?  I was burned by GRiN early on, but I'll mine whatever shitcoin is out there if it's profitable and can be easily converted to Bitcoin.  Especially if they're with home friendly 110v miners that make little noise and give off little heat.

Looking forward to reading your update how this is going and your expectations for the future.  Now that ETH is toast I need to find a new shitcoin to exploit with my miners for additional BTC.

Assuming they profit at 68 cents a day prior to power and power cost  for me is about 10 cents they will clear 50-58 cents a day for 1 unit.

if they do this we will buy a lot of them 3 at a time to legally beat the 30% import tax.

best case say 18+2= 20 which make 10 bucks a day.

I will cash 2 for future USA I bonds

I will hold 2 in grin

I will exchange 6 for BTC

still not sure .

not sure where to post this. but all three of my miners crashed and won't restart.

anyone have this issue?

I have them in different spots.  about 3 miles apart so I do not think it is an internet issue.

Found issue

this pool was dead

us-grin.2miners.com:3030

moved to this pool below:

us2.grin.herominers.com:1125

all is well

I also updated from 2.49 firmware to 2.52 version

No issues for me on 2miners... been mining with them since I received the units from the group buy.

Any idea what the new firmware adds / fixed? I was thinking about upgrading a couple of weeks ago, but decided against it as miners have been pretty good so far.

my pool issue may have been an optimum provider internet issue.

it is working now. i am pointing two miners to the newer pool and one to the old one.

as for 252 vs 249 firmware I have two on 2.49 and one on 2.52 seem close to the same.
