Title: If you had the chance to meet Satoshi Nakamoto what would you ask?
Post by: Faisal123 on August 02, 2022, 02:52:47 AM
I would ask him this:

What was that thing your mind was thinking when you struck with the idea of decentralized blockchain?

I'm interested in this because I wonder how one can get the idea of blockchain out of nothing. There must be an incidence or event of life that motivated you to build something smart like this. Smart people always get motivation from real-life events. We will probably never know but I’m sure a legend is going to be created for it, it is similar to the legend that Issac Newton understood gravity when an apple fell on his head, many say that anecdote is false and some others say it is true but it is irrelevant, the legend will keep on forever.

What you need to know Bitcoin isn't the first cryptocurrency, so there's other cryptocurrency had been invented by few people. Bit Gold is the close example for Bitcoin since it's decentralized, using Proof of Work and any transactions recorded on blockchain. However it's still different concept, that's may likely the reason why Bit Gold was unsuccessful. It doesn't mean Satoshi was copying other people work, he was create an another coin, but he created based on his vision.

If I had a chance to meet him I would ask him, what is his work and what is inspiration on creating bitcoin technology. Of course I want an answer that is natural, and coming from him.

No one could explain here or could answer that question cause Satoshi is literally a ghost and mysterious guy.  Just wanna hear his answer on his own words.

I would ask him - "IF you were still around and involved in the running, what would you want to improve on?" and "What part of the entire industry would you say was not in your plan, regulations maybe?"

Choosing just one question to ask would be very difficult, with so much mystery surrounding the person, but those would be my first before asking about his motivations, inspirations and believe that people would actually care about bitcoin.

If I had a chance to talk with satoshi, I would ask him would you do it again? Considering your disappearance, the constant questions who you are, where you are, and why you created the network you did, was it worth it? I would also ask him/her if he/she thinks the Bitcoin community is worthy of this creation. I would like to know whether the way we use Bitcoin today coincides with their way of thinking. Some feedback would be great although that's never going to happen.

Personally, I don't think satoshi is happy with how much dependence there is on centralized services and that's not what they had in mind.

Yes there was a previous work done by a number of people and projects before
Satoshi, these were known as the Cypherpunks. I created a thread about it a few years ago.

The Cypherpunks and the road to Bitcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5217348.msg53597623#msg53597623)

What would I ask Satoshi?

Do you still have access to all your wallets? not that I care but its still intreguing

Are you happy with how Bitcoin has developed?

did you forsee the route it has taken?

I would ask him this

I am not a journalist, so I don't have neither uncomfortable, nor historical or technical questions for him.

I would ask him if he is all right. He is missing for long, so his health and safety is a matter of concern.
And I would simply tell him "thank you for creating Bitcoin".

I really don't need to ask him any questions because Satoshi answered all the important questions in the short time he was active on the forum and through private communication with those who worked on the project with him.

Apart from the fact that many people began to attack him for making too many decisions independently, and to the point that his closest associate practically stabbed him in the back when he sold himself to the authorities for a few thousand $, did Satoshi have any other choice but to disappear completely? What Satoshi created is much more important than anything else...

And many more questions to be followed and in the end of conversations I want to say thank you for creating bitcoin and also thank you for creating this form many people get educate about Bitcoin and other crypto through this forum.

Of course, it is interesting to find out who is hiding behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. And I'm really interested to know if he has retained access to his wallets, which store more than a thousand BTC coins. If there is no access to these coins, then they can be considered lost forever, and Max Supply can be reduced by this amount of BTC.

Jawhead999 thank you very much for this information (the link) you provided. I have gotten very useful information in the Crypto currency space. I really enjoyed reading the article on the link. And also your explanation for the OP question is nice for me but you have not really nail on the question based on the OP. He or she is a newbie, so your explanation would been straight forward after given the instances or before the instances (example). As a educationist, there is a way we answer questions that the person who asked the question would understand. I do not think the OP understand you but he has gotten new information from you but if you evaluate him or her to know if he or she understood you. I doubt.
What was that thing your mind was thinking when you struck with the idea of decentralized blockchain?

This question is directly to Satoshi Nakamoto. And in the forum, those who have known blockchain and are the representatives of Satoshi, so they are answer...
I believed he created the blockchain because of the National Government Authorities control over citizens fund without their conscience. So blockchain is decentralized digital currency in which no governmental Authority will have access or control your funds.

Lolz such a funny but nice question , My question to him would be why he decided not to review his real identity and chooses to be annoymous since after long time of creating Bitcoin both in the forum and other places.
I will equally ask him what price he thinks Bitcoin is gonna reach?,  if he is going to sell his Bitcoin one day and at what price is he looking at selling.
Lastly , I will ask him what other plans he has for the smooth running of Bitcoin having been observing the overall performance of Bitcoin since creation.

Controversial: I'm going to ask Satoshi about his opinions on NFTs and other non-currency/SoV cryptocurrencies. I'm mostly a bitcoin guy myself, but I'm not a fan of the automatically-a-scam-if-not-bitcoin takes of some vocal bitcoin maximalists.

I would probably ask something like: "Is it really true that Craig Wright is you?" :)
Of course, we all know that this is not true.

In my opinion,  Satoshi has told bitcoin community enough of what needs to be known. The rest doesn't matter. Despite the fact that the Satoshi Nakamoto figure is legendary, it has already remained in the past for bitcoin, therefore, it is strange for me to hear such questions:
"IF you were still around and involved in the running, what would you want to improve on?"

Nakamoto left his project in the hands of the community, and now it is the bitcoin community (and not one figure) who must decide and create the future of bitcoin. This is the essence of decentralization.

10/10 would ask the same actually. I am happy that I am not the only one thinking about that question. I would also would like to ask on "how does he feel about plenty of conspiracy theories regarding his identity and now that surely many of it would be debunked for sure?", lol.
Also the question of his thoughts about the IEOs, ICOs, STOs, etc.

Satoshi should be given more appreciation in his own craft, and letting him know how lucky we are to have known bitcoin, leaves a good feeling on his part.

I will ask him what he plans to do with 1 million bitcoin in custody after 13 years. Since no one knows his nationalities, will want to know the involvement of USA in cryptocurrency from the beginning.
2. The idea of anonimity was whose Idea?
3 what is the purpose of hiding the identity?

For a person that put us to where we are right now, I think it’s more great to say thank you in the first place. Bitcoin has been very good to us, and all those positive things should be credited to its only founder, Satoshi. And as we are living in good right now, hopefully he’s also living the best life he deserved to have. No more questions, just give him my heartfelt appreciation.

I'll tell him my gratitude for his/her creation. Of course, I'll give him thanks first for what he did and that's necessary since that encounter would really be rare and as how I appreciate what he made, I guess he'll also appreciate everyone's gratitude.
And for my question, what does he thinks of the world that his project became a global thing and even countries are accepting it and adopting it as a legal tender?

I would love to ask him why he made an early exit, and if he’s still coming back in the future. But before that, I want to congratulate him and be thankful for inventing today’s best asset. We would not have been profitable this time without bitcoin, and just pure shitcoins. And of course, I want to tell Satoshi how much he is loved by all of us and wish him good health and good luck always.

If I have the chance, I don't ask about Bitcoin but rather ask him "why does he keep himself anonymous?" Because I was curious about his life ad I think everyone also wanted to know more about his background. And it was very interesting to know why he is doing this after creating Bitcoin or has something in his mind creating another project/technolog that will hit the market again.

But the problem is if we can have the invitation from him...

If I have a chance I will come to hame and ask for a peace bump sign then give him a token of gratitude for his creation which really help many people to change their life and other perspective in financial state of each individual who use it. But I guess this us just a dream since many people curious to know his story but didn't find any lead where to start about these things.

I would ask him [1] why he didn't design Bitcoin first as a specification (like HTTP) and only second as a (reference) piece of software [2].

Having said that, I think if anyone ever got an opportunity to speak with him, the most appropriate thing to do would probably just be to thank him.

[1] I'm assuming Satoshi was/is an individual and male, for convenience.

[2] Please don't try to answer this one for me, I'm aware of his old posts and other people's takes on this.

Both the idea of decentralization and blockchain aren't Satoshi's. The history of both concepts predates Bitcoin. In other words, Satoshi didn't discover them as in Netwon's apple story. Satoshi didn't create Bitcoin out of nothing.

Anyway, if I had the chance to meet Satoshi, I'd be more interested about his/her/their life more than anything else. So I'd probably just ask him/her/them to briefly share how he/she/they lived.

Ofcourse I had that in mind. Its just that, OP asked id weve given opportunity to ask, but what you has said is inevitable cause giving an appreciation the man who started a revolutionary technology must be given a big thanks. Also I would do a selfie with him and make that framed and who knows make it a jpeg nft and use it as my twitter profile or on any social sites.

How are you today and what is you daily routine?

Maybe that is the question that I will ask because holding a million Bitcoins while keeping anonymous is not an easy task to do. One wrong move and people might do some connections that will lead to Satoshi's true identity. I'm just worried about his safety that's all. Of course I'm grateful for what Satoshi created but in reality, we might not really know who Satoshi is and there might be a chance that Satoshi is dead as well.

Anyway, I might ask Satoshi's opinions regarding people claiming that they are Satoshi like Fake-toshi CSW etc.

Well he is the creator, so for that he knows every secret and every loophole. I may ask him to share some secrets regarding BTC which no one know except for him.
Been curious my whole life knowing other's secret. So, this is an obvious one for me.

When he created bitcoin, he just wanted bitcoin as a means of payment, a currency that is not controlled by any institution and the value of bitcoins today is truly a surprise even to their creators.
Given what bitcoin has been through, I would also like to know his thoughts and predictions about the child he has created. I think the bitcoin price will react very violently if his prediction is made public.

All the numbers of Bitcoin are pretty much arbitrary, like the 50 coins for initial block reward for example, and many other numbers (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5394371.0), yet they all seem to work fantastically well in practice so far.

I would be interested to know how those numbers came to his mind. If they were just a reasonable guess, or if there was some more thought into it.

It's incredible that for a long time Satoshi himself was just here in the forum, ready to answer questions.

If that chance comes to me, I may ask him to send some bitcoin to my wallet.
I will not ask anything since I am unsure if he will answer my question.
I will let him with his secret because that is his privacy and even if he answers, the answer will not have details, which can trigger another question.
Asking him to send me some bitcoin is enough for me so that is my main question ;D
