Football is back and so are the punters. I was checking my Twitter when I came across this tweet by a very popular, self-acclaimed sports lover and a serial winner in Football Betting. In his tweet, he promised to make millionaires out of his followers this season. What caught my attention though was the advice to his followers. He wrote:

• Choose 2 reliable punters and ignore others.
• Don’t be a Gambler be a calculative winner.

I'll add the last advice which as seen on his profile

• Don’t play games you don’t understand.

Winning requires strategies that would work effectively and efficiently. I believe some users on this forum are looking to win big this season from their betting. My question to you is, can you kindly share your online football betting strategies to beat the bookies this season?

I actually rely on the odds which is kind of a winning strategy still. 30% loss but mostly a win. But the football forum I once joined is full of punters who could look at teams who are winning against another. Somehow these punters can give clues.

But you're right, it's best that you know the game like a fan so you are not just watching to gamble.

this is my strategy and this is what I will do in the latest season at this time and maybe it will be applied in 1 or 2 leagues, namely betting on the team that was in the order of 1-4 in the previous season and choosing the team to win over its opponents but as shown mentioned by you must be able to calculate consistently because the odds on the winning team are not attractive and agree we should only bet on sports that we like because we will understand better

The only strategy you need when gambling is being lucky. Gather all the luck totems you got. 4 leaf clover, horse shoe, rabbit foot, lucky gold coin… whatever you got. Every little bit helps. The more luck points you got, the better winning chances you’ll have.

Without luck, any other strategy is worthless. After you boost your luck stats, you may even try using martingale. It will probably work this time. :d

To be frank with you, strategies don't usually work out as gambling in its totality is a thing of luck and nothing more. You'll agree with me one day when you use all the strategies you can think of but at the end of the day you see Arsenal beating Bayern Munich 3 to nil 😂 what's more painful than seeing small odds being trash by bigger odds? All I'm trying to say is that strategy doesn't play out always. Gamble what you can afford to lose. If it favor you then fine and if it backfire then you won't be regretting.

First of all I am very glad that football what many may refer to as soccer, is back. It remains my best and favourite sport even when it comes to sports betting. My strategy remains as it has always been which is - keep your betting slips short & simple so you have a better chance at winning when you stake a good amount rather than betting on many games and expecting to be lucky with all, you can yes...but you reduce your chances at winning.

There is no strategy in games of luck and although sport betting relies mostly on skill than luck still luck plays a significant role in getting a win.Let me make you an example.Charles Leclerc was leading the F1 race comfortably this weekend in Hungary yet his team made a strategy error and consequently he lost the lead,if you had bet on him you would have lost your money despite him doing his job perfectly.You see the same can happen in every other sport betting including the most popular one being soccer.

Who in the hell would bet a sport that he didn't understand at all? Most of bettors are betting their favorite club, at least they're know how football work and they're only betting for fun, not for money.

Personally I don't have such strategy, but usually I look from their past experience first rather than their recent performance. Just like how Real Madrid become an underdog club on UCL, but I keep betting Real Madrid since I know they're very experienced club and have high potential player.

Do not gamble often.
Use the amount of money you can afford to lose, it will make you have the right gambling mindset.

If you take the right clubs to bet with, do not gamble often, three matches in a way or less are better. Gamblers that win do not gamble often.

Sports bets are a battle with the knowledge and at the same time trust to them, you bet, once you make a bet of course you need to make a background check the statistics and record of the team such as the team changes of the player at the same time so you have an idea still good to bet or not, also with the use of statistics you can see which is ideal to make a risk and safe bet, I mostly do the same way and if both team are strong I do mostly is with the risk bet because there's a chance the other can win the same still it is a game anything unexpected can happen.

A lot of people do that actually. I bet on someone who does billiard well in the neighborhood, esp the one I know well who shoot all 9 balls when its his turn. And I'm not very familiar with billiard but he does. Same with Basketball today, since GSW wins almost all the time, people bet on this team without analysis of opponent team. Call it a strategy still. Football is one of the most popular sports that even a housewife is watching an entire cup because the husband keeps the TV on.

I think, some of the strategies that I did can work and get good results in soccer betting.

I have made serious gains betting on various sporting events following a very simple strategy which consisted of placing larger stakes on a maximum of 3 events combined together with odds of 1.25 to 1.35. Although even with such small coefficients there are surprises, constant monitoring of the form of the clubs can reduce them to a minimum.

For a smaller stake, a combination of up to 3-4 events often served me very well, where I bet exclusively on the options - both teams score a goal or a combined total of goals in handball or basketball.

I proved to myself that it's not just a matter of luck, but also how well you can assess the current state of the clubs playing against each other, and that you need to increase your chances of winning as much as possible by betting on as few matches as possible.

Betting in football is much harder compared to other sports, because draw is often happened unlike other sports which only win or lose, or the odds for draw is very high since it's high likely wouldn't happen.

This make me to be carefully to place my bet, I prefer to bet on low odds or favorited club since it's higher chance to win, but it's not huge favorite e.g. when the odds less than 1.10x.

I will suggest to take a read not because I am a good gambler, but just because I have accrued a good experience with this activity.
FYI I have started this topic after I have won several prize in Direct Bet Betting Competition (2nd place in hall of fame) and earned decent profit each year (this topic has collected bets for 7 years!).  

There are other many options in football betting apart from win or draw, there are under/over numbers of goals, corners, both sides to score or GG etc these options also guarantee winning a bets regularly, however it requires a lot of research based on previous record of each team playing a win, lose or a draw might lead to losing the bet because a lot of upsets is created in matches in recent times, a lot of lowly rated teams luckily do defeat highly rated team in some league which to amount to losing a purported sure bet because of prediction gone wrong .
While going for small odds of 2 or 3 matches and accumulating them to 2.00 is better.

Whatever points totals were during the regular season.

I usually look for lower point totals during playoffs.

Playoff games receive more attention, more viewers and greater pressure. Teams play more conservatively and tactically to avoid making errors. All of which contribute to lower point totals. This trend could apply to NFL, MLB, NBA and european football.

Another strategy is watch for polarization between home and road games. Some teams do better on the road. They have less distractions and less pressure not playing in front of their family and friends in a home game. Which translates to better performance.

Some sports gambling strategy derives from observation and perception. There are patterns that emerge. Which can be consistent over time.

There is no special strategy in my soccer betting because for me I always look at the league structure including, EPL, Serie A and LaLiga which I often see in every match, indeed there are so many strategies that are shared on social media like the above but For me, I still have to have principles in my own strategy.
The betting odds for me are at least @1.25 it's in a few favorite clubs but I see in terms of other matches with the clubs below it may be a bigger betting opportunity, but this season I think football betting will be a little more fun because it will start soon.

I don't make big money from football betting but I make money big enough for my upkeep through some strategies that works for me. I always stick to the strategy and I avoid greed and that is how I keep going. I am really happy that season is back for me to continue.
Let me share my strategy.
1. I do not bet more than 3 matches.
2. I split money over good number of 3 odds and 5 odds that I must have forecasted.
3. I chose two teams that are likely to play draw. I will bet the favourite among them with handicap 1 or 2 depending on the odd.
3. I choose teams that has good wingers and player over corners.
4. I choose teams that doesn't have good winners and bet under corners.
I bet only these three options and it works for me.

Don't you think that this is far from the concept of strategy? If the teams that you have chosen are obviously good for everyone, then the bookmakers will not give favorable odds on them and you will not receive a profit for your bets commensurate with the risk. As a result, when the team has a decline (it inevitably happens with any team), for a couple of unsuccessful bets, you will lose all your previous winnings and go into the red.

Being lucky is I think not a kind of strategy but it's a kind of trait. Plus, we are talking about sports betting here and not a casino game where luck is mostly needed over skill. In sports betting, you can implement a strategy and as you can see other users above have their own. If you didn't have one yet, maybe you can try to look at them and implement it in your game next time.

You can also do a modification depending on your taste. This is the one that I am doing actually. Anyway, was it items, the lucky totems you are saying? This reminds me of the thread we have here last time about feng sui. I think these kinds of reply applies best to that.

Haven't found a suitable strategy just a few plans in my head, this new season has seen a lot of change top and mid level clubs some coaches that I don't really know much, so I have to think about the worst. First, I will bet with a capital of $75 and share it in 75 bets with $1 maybe until the end of this year, because I don't plan on spending my money lightning fast on betting, requires more thorough analysis.

For me, my betting strategy has always been to bet after the 5 big clubs of major league championships has played at least 3 games each. Can't say it didn't work for me. At least I paid some bills and well the rest was reward well spent.
Pointers:
• I start betting after the first 3 games.
• I make sure the smaller teams have played their first 5 games and the bigger teams just 3.
  The rest from here on is automatic...

^ Because the fact that sports betting 70 percent is based on luck and 30 percent is based on your knowledge that including research and other sources that you will find. The advice given by the OP is just a tip but actually did not a strategy that you may use. There is no such thing that you can predict the result of the game per match not unless we are talking about fixed games. I still advise if you want to bet just do your own research on a team that you want to place a bet with, each of them makes a research.

I think the main strategy is to bet constantly and always on championships and teams that you know.

Another very precious tip is to bet without taking into account emotions, as we know that many people are passionate about football and its teams, and betting based on these emotions can make you lose a lot of money and it can be quite time consuming to recover that. .

Right we can apply different strategies but if we are not lucky the good one's having higher edge of winning will also not work for us in that time.So at first of all you need to be lucky to some extent even in these strategy based gambling also and have knowledge about the team you are going to bet upon.

One of my strategies is that I am not planning or dreaming to win big in this present season, also in other next seasons, I am only dreaming to bet and have fun while betting, nothing else than that. Gambling is a lucky game, I can win or lose, but if thinking of winning big, I will lose more. I just have some fee dollars to spend on betting.

For now I am looking just betting, taking just one match because it is the start of new season, any club can lose unexpectedly, no more analyses for now that seeing the strength of players in some clubs, clubs like Liverpool have good players but not playing gold for now, so I just decide to go for one matches weekly until first matches are played to make better analyses.

My strategy is just to enjoy betting on football without thinking about winning or losing. A good strategy in the sense that it protects you from both big losses and over-involvement in betting. I also prefer single bets because, firstly, multibets are unprofitable compared to single bets, and secondly, it is very unpleasant to lose the entire bet because of one outcome. This is especially unpleasant when this outcome becomes known last and breaks everything that was previously "accumulated".

In this game before I put my bet in on the team as I know that it will help me to win a good amount by supporting or betting them is checking the line up of their players and also searching is my best guide to know where can I put my bet and I  already have and idea I already know the background of the teams then it is very simple to me to but my bet. Over all I can say that it depends on the players .

When it comes to sports betting, I believe that searching will be a wise strategy especially if we aren't familiar with the team. We can search for their background and game history so we'll know their capability. watching their previous gameplay will also help. It will take time but at least you'll have a little assurance about your bet because the result of sports doesn't rely on luck but rather the skills of the players.

Well have plans on many some nice betting this current month but I still depend on prediction group to get bookies so I can fix myself well before taken any tangible risks on some sport betting. For now I am working on a simple strategy I can use to be making light profits rather looking into betting with big fund. I made some loses recently and I think I will have to relax first and adjust my strategy before going fully into betting again. Those that have reasonable strategy can always drop for further consideration.

I make use of prediction sites and also do some analyses to make sure if it a match to go for, it is not bad to check for the head to head of the clubs that are playing and also checking how strong they are (the strength that I mean is how they are winning in the present season that they are, especially the recent matches like last 3 to 5 matches they played in the season). I do not take a club some weeks or days before the the match would be played, there are sometimes some players will not play because of certain good reasons, I prefer to go for matches that I know the players that will play, because if the best players are on bench and not playing, it can affect the outcome of a match.

Lol this thread is about sports betting not just any gambling games that rely on luck.  Of course, there are factors that act as a variable that may give different results as expected.  But most of the time, people with enough knowledge of this sport often win when they bet.  

I don't have any good strategy on sports betting but only cash out when I know I am winning.  This way at least I secure my winnings.

Some time ago someone on another forum was very active with laying a correct result, that was the 3-3. he played on Betfair I thought and he started with $100. Over time, he had saved up $500 and then things went wrong. But if you look at the ROI before he was hit with his loss, we can say that it can be attractive. I don't think you should bet that blindly on every game either. Odds are then around 50-100 to lay, the yield of the ROi per match is between 1 and 2%. Little money, but you run very little risk. It's a shame that Betfair charges such high commissions on winnings these days.
