Just hours ago, Solana is being attacked. As of this posting, the attack hasn't ended yet. So far, the stolen amount has already exceeded $6 million.

It is advised for users to start "unlinking browser-based Solana wallets from all internet sites, and moving funds to a new clean wallet." And this is urgent.

If you have cold wallets, it is better to transfer your coins and tokens there for the time being. It is found out that hot wallets such as Phantom, Slope, and Trust Wallet are already being drained of funds because of this current attack.

It's sad to see that so many attack happened with crypto. Decentralized bridged and wallets are not safe anymore. I saw a few days ago the hack happened with some bridged and this time it's happening with phantom wallet. Just wanna know how amateur those developers are. I think that it would better if any hacked cases that happened with the platforms and then dev must be sued to the court. This to make sure if they are working in what they can afford to make sure the security was safe.

They are saying it affected browsers and mobile wallet which there are multiple users doing this attack. So convenient that many investors just have the confidence in the market and then just got disappointed by this hack. Lucky the few I bought are still in the exchange.

It has been many times that there is a problem with the solana network so security or breaching is likely to be expected. Aside from it many are hating solana for continously breaking down. Team should do is fix this fully and hire a lot of security developer or else other investors and retailers would jump ship. No doubt it will happened if the problem hasnt sold today or in the coming days.

Even normal users has been affected, it seems the hackers are pretty well ready for this incident.

The whole point of being decentralized was being safer than anything centralized… If a decentralized network can’t be safe then it means it lost its most important feature. Without safety, a decentralized network is damn worthless.

Decentralized means it should work like clockwork without any human interference. Human interference may include any hack attempts, DOS attacks as well.

If the system can’t protect itself from these kind of activities, then it is not working as intended.

I also got several notifications from major exchanges to withdraw assets from Solana when the attack occurred. This is quite worrying, Solana gets attacks like this every year and the worst thing is this is happening. They often announce blackouts at the center of the network due to several problems but as they continue to face problems like this, investors and traders start to lose confidence. It is not advisable to keep finances in Solana long term, I am afraid this will not be resolved in a short time.

Yes I am afraid that it’s not safe for us anymore to keep our hard earned money there. As much as possible, it’s better to disconnect and remove all permissions from all sites now and store them in a hardware wallet that supports Solana and SOL-based tokens. That’s where I have learned it myself when I was hacked around $12k from 3 of my Metamask and Trust Wallets combined. The hackers have improved their skills, so we should also improve and adjust to make our assets safe.

I just checked my coins on Phantom and to my joy, everything is in place) The coins that have value have been transferred by me to the exchange wallet. And also the entire Sol was transferred so that it was impossible to pay for the transaction when an unauthorized withdrawal of funds from the wallet was attempted.

This is a very bad news for those who own solana. If they didn't lose their funds then they better sold their solana if I were them. Selling their solana doesn't mean you don't have faith with solana that the attack won't cause problem but a solution to get away with solana as it is being attacked as it is just a precaution to avoid being a victim with the attack when the attackers successful to what they want to accomplish.

This is not the first time about the hacking incident and yet many still trust cryptocurrency, though this is very unfortunate incident and many wallets are already affected. Hopefully there's still a solution for this because hackers are really good to bypass the security system of every project. SOL is a good one, I don't know what went wrong but they should address this issue and bring the updates to the public as soon as possible. If you're a victim as well better to wait for the update, don't panic and let's see how the SOL team will handle this.

I think this isn't the first time they've received an attack. IIRC, it was a few months ago but it wasn't broadcasted a lot due to some reasons and they were able to contain it.

Those that own solana will now think of their decisino if it's still worth to hold it for long. I have no issues of holding it as they're one of the most successful projects in the market.

But with such news, it will change the game.

That will be so difficult to identify this. i meant bunch of people got affected and i thought that those who affected in this case will not be reimbursed and they will be permanently loosing their money yet there was a chance for dapps who got affected reimburse people's money but i doubt if that will be happening. So far those dapps have no money to make it happen. Those people can't get back their money. This is clearly affecting the trust for cryptocurrency in general. The blockchain that already claimed to be the most decentralized got attacked pretty easy by getting ddosed.

I've heard of this attack too, but I actually feel that crypto is more attractive to hacker attacks than ever before. So many incidents, from small to large, that have happened and now continue to be Solana. Some of the issues that I read about are not managing assets across platforms and gaining access, sadly seeing large sums of money managed with ease.

This is really sad for those people who work hard to acquire those coins and they patiently hold them till they see the right time to sell them when the market is recovering. Now they lose it all due to those hackers that don't really give up on their obvious motives to steal money from innocent people. It's really hard to avoid such kinds of attacks since most people are not aware of how their crypto got stolen and they can't do anything about it either. This is one of the problems of the crypto industry if only there is someone who can successfully track these bad guys and put them in their right place.

Yeah, it seems like the pitchfork points toward Slope. They stored users’ private key information in plain text, allegedly. God damn, can you imagine in 2022 and somehow, this app connects to user cryptos, money worth thousand of dollars stored in users’ private keys in plain text without any encryption? That's very hard to believe. Just simple user's information, not just private key or security-related already understood to be stored in encryption.
