Earlier this week, Ethereum successfully completed its final testnet merge known as Goerli, which is the last step towards the long awaited merge and eth 2.0

With all the supposed benefits this brings, what do you guys think Eth’s price action will do taking into account overall market  conditions?

(I don't want to click random links though). Personally, the first hump that Ethereum should get over is the $2k price barrier.

If we can get over that after the merge in September in mainnet or even prior, then I would say that it is a big accomplishment already by the merge. And just like the news in the test net alone, it had a good impact in the price isn't it, we've reach as high as $1900 and probably be moving positive as well. So this is my prediction and hopefully we can reach $2k and sustain the run till next month.

Ethereum is trading at $1.9k and your $2k target distance is not too far away. I think it will hit $2k and maybe go a little further to $2.3k-2.5k$. But after the event is over, it is not clear if ethereum will be able to maintain this momentum or will correct after that as surely many investors will take profits soon after, who bought bitcoins at the price below 1k dollars for the most recent low.

About $2.3k I guess? Maybe even higher if hype about it goes well beyond what it is right now which might push the price temporarily to above $3k. If it proves to be rather disappointing though after the merge, then it might just plummet back to around $1.5k, maybe lower if again, the hype brings it back up, then it can also slam it back down if the response to it was very disappointing. I'd honestly expect at the minimum for it to breach past $2k and maybe go around $2.3 as I said earlier. Wait and see for the rest imo.

Will we really see a price increase on Ethereum (ETH) after the migration from Proof-of-Work (PoW) to Proof-of-Stake (PoS)?. I'm still wondering about this, isn't this a degradation for network security on Ethereum itself?, If it will degrade network security, it shouldn't have any hype and will have a bad impact on the price.

To be honest, I am still not expecting Ethereum 2.0 on the date said, there are already a lot of times, multiple times that this feature on Ethereum was delayed, years ago. I understand how it is difficult for Ethereum especially since there are billions of funds running on the Ethereum network, they must be careful.
Speaking of the price, I believe yes, there's a huge spike for sure for this update, either pump or dump, because we still don't know how the update will go.

After the news circulated about the successful merger on the tesnet network and now we can see that the news has a slightly positive impact on the price movement of the ETH coin which has now reached the level of $1.9k and it is possible that the current increase will continue and be able to bring ETH to the level of $2k , maybe if the mainnet merger is officially carried out next month, I think this will make the ETH price movement experience a stronger pump.

That's also my rough estimates, any price above $2k will show success of the merger. I doubt though that $3k is possible, remember that we are still in the bear market and investors are going to be reluctant and maybe just looking for short term profit because of this activity.

So let's see a $2.3k and then we will speculate if it can maintain that price, or most likely it won't and the price bouncing back down to around $2k.

I am more worried about eth miners who dedicated their mega facilities to mint ether coins and now whole tech is going nuts over PoS. I gotta say miners are going to sell off their eth at an alarming rates and it could happen eth price may start dropping to the lower grounds.

The merge is good for new investors or may be someone who was not able to afford miners and now they can easily stake the money to get their rewards through eth platform.

The merge is as playful as it sounds, weird things await ahead.

I didn't even think the impact will come in short term and i guess it must be long term. It's good to see that if new update coming very soon but people are still feeling worried if the update will become failed. Just hope that everything goes smooth but im thinking about to accumulate more and more ETC rather than ethereum as so many miners will be making it even better caused by they are migrating from ethereum.

I think this event is bringing another positive signal to the ETH community. Perhaps the past problems are gradually being resolved. And my speculation is that there will be some kind of recovery for ETH itself and the ecosystem involved, possibly dragging on some of the trends that have previously developed on ETH. And now perhaps like some of you here I am still waiting for the next targets for ETH, perhaps buying them early makes me increasingly appreciate it to hold even longer.

Yes, against the backdrop of this news, the price of ethereum has been growing quite well lately and is now at $ 1980, having increased over the last week by more than 14 percent. Bitcoin has risen only a little over 6 percent during this time. It is even possible that ethereum is now giving impetus to the growth of the entire market. It is predicted that by the end of this month, the price of ethereum may rise to $2,500. However, there will be an adjustment after the network merge. Even Buterin claims about the correction of ethereum. But anyway, better times are waiting for this coin.

But it doesn't make sense of miners are still making money out of their ETH holdings?

They can still go and mine ETC isn't it?


It's more of benefits for investors and the whole staking will be taken to the next level. Could be playful, and I guess everyone has it's won agenda behind it.

I doubt if the merge will be making the price to increase signinifantly. The price already started to increase since last month but it seems like that we will see what will be happening with it. People are expecting a huge move in the price of ethereum but i didn't have the same opinion like those people. The fact that if ethereum can grow a lot but this will not happen in a few weeks or even days. It needs months or even years.

I think that this news is of the type of news that seeks reasons for the price to rise, and therefore this news may not be the main reason for moving the price.

In general, Ethereum version 2 has already been announced and has been postponed for long periods, and I do not think that this will happen in the near term, so all the news that links it with the price will only contribute to a rise and then a rapid decline.

There is nothing much to expect in anticipation of the announced date other that the rise in the price we're already seeing. And the price falls back few days after the date if the bear market isn't over until we have the next bull market. The price is currently close to $2,000 and I don't see it going beyond the of the $2,000 to $2,300 before it gets back to real crypto market situation we're currently in.

I will tell you what will happen. Look at the price now. It has been going up very fast and much more than that of bitcoin. It is because people are actually buying the rumor. Everyone is hoping and knows that others are also going to buy the rumor, hence they all are stocking up causing the price to go up. Once the merge take place and sell the news! Those who filled their bags earlier will want to take the profit and hence sell most of the Ethereum they have been holding causing the price to go down and go then through a correction stage!

We have already seen the first impact of this news in terms of the price of ETH when the price went up from 1700$ to now almost 2000$ per ETH very fast. At the moment it seems like the price is consolidating slightly below the 2000$ mark, which is a big psychological barrier. I don't know if we will see more price pumps of ETH like this one, because the impact of that news is already gone now obviously.
If the merge will successfully happen on the date that they have announced and if afterwards everything works as planned also brings the benefits that every user of Ethereum is waiting for, like lower gas fees, then i think the overall trend for ETH is definitely upwards.

 i cannot predict the price after the merge exactly. but it could outperform other coins and bitcoin ( with btc pair ) because of the gas fee reduction many people are waiting to onboard to ethereum. and tvl on ethereum could gone to higher number of amounts soon. i expect a huge price iutperform of ethereum and other altcoins also could start to making rallies. and most of other layer 1 projetcs which is trying to copy ethereum's consensus mechanism most likely to be fail with the merge of ethereum.

The growth of the ETH price can continue until Ethereum Merge, because as we know, the price very often increases on the news. And after September 15, we may see a correction in the Ethereum price, the size of which will depend on what price ETH will reach by the time of Merge.

The success of Ethereum completing its final testnet merger might provide an opportunity for Ethereum to gain support from its fans and attract more investors. This is interesting because if we talk about price predictions, we might see a price reversal from the current price to the high price but that is also just a prediction because we never know how the market sentiment will be with the news. But we will see what happens next and if the price is going to increase, get ready to welcome it and if that is your target price, then sell it.

You know what they say "sell the news". I think we already saw a merge pump and I sold my ETH into MATIC and ICP for more profit potential.

I think even more interesting questions where those miners will go after the switch, one possibility is ETC which means ETC may also pump in terms of price  ;)

this is my wait to see ETH 2.0 actually materialize and again hope it really works well after successful merge on tesnet network on Goerli, I think ETH will surprise their price and all eyes are on it waiting for the real success of ETH 2.0 on main network
