Apart from the useful information provided by tranthidung, I would recommend you to visit the technical sections of the forum, because if you are a software developer you will not find it too difficult to understand what is discussed there (many people on the forum find it difficult) and you will see that there are much more serious discussions than in other sections.

Welcome to the forum, hope you would have a great time here.

It's great you have a learning span already, this would make it easier for you to adequately utilize the resources available to you here on the forum. It can be a little overwhelming, with the multiple links provided here (and more which would likely be added) and thousands of posts on the forum.
Understand that no one here knows everything, so take it a step at a time.

Find your interests and best ways to learn, then leverage on that. Good Luck.

First of all Congratulation mate on finding your way to this community. Seeing that so many useful information have been given to you already, I will like to encourage you to take your time to read through the forum rules even as you learn from other members who have been here before you so that you don't go against the rules. Secondly, I will advise you to read more and ask questions about the things you don't understand instead of creating multiple threads as a newbie and don't forget to make proper research and findings before engaging in any form of transaction with anyone here, good luck.

Since you are already a software dev, I don't think you will have a hard time catching real quick. For most of us without any technical knowledge, it was a bit confusing, but key is to have a open mind and be willing to learn.

Since you're a software developer I believe it will be easy for you to fit in and easily catch up with the system operation (which I believe you're relating the forum here).
The forum is welcoming to every new user and crypto-related business but the rules are not to be broken and that's the important area I believe you need to learn.
Welcome to the forum.

Yeah right, skill in coding plus technical knowledge on crypto which I doubt is the only OP need.
Technical knowledge is on the internet and it's everywhere that you can obtain since you already know about coding it's easy for you to understand and pursue your goal as a developer.

All information was given above, just have research on it, everything is on the internet and sometimes you need a Google search to answer your question or the best is since you're here in the forum, don't be shy to ask a question.  Glad to hear someone like you here in the community.

As a software developer, you are ahead to understand the technical things of bitcoin. You could be passionate about bitcoin is you approach it from the technical aspect of it. Bitcoin is an open source protocol and I learnt it was written in C++ language. If you visit the technical board you may have to know how to download or run a node and begin to work in the back end of bitcoin. It will be an amazing experience for you and you will meet some passionate developers who are actively working in the bitcoin project. Welcome to the forum.

Membership shouldn't be seen as a selfish act. It's as much about giving back to the community as it is about learning from it. That's one of the great things about communities like this—as long as you are willing to learn and contribute, there is no limit to the value you can accrue. Soon enough, you can set yourself apart by becoming an invaluable member.

You are part of the crypto community now. Hope that you have fun learning on this forum. ;)

Many people prefer watching videos as a way of learning. I am one of those. yazher collected several YouTube videos and documentaries that you could take a look at. Blockchain Books, Bitcoin Movies And Documentaries (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5142007.0). The books are the same as in the thread tranthidung shared from the Philippines local board. But the English topic also includes those videos that I mentioned.

You'll be fine if you read these excellent sources of information that are given to you. I recommend you begin with learnmeabitcoin.com, as it's newbie-friendly but technically sufficient. It's as useful as it should. Don't buy anything if you don't feel confident of comprehending the protocol enough. Use this forum if you have any technical, economical or political questions regarding this matter.

I hope the op is still around to get all of these useful information that have been posted here, they don't seem to be very active, or maybe they are reading instead of posting, and it is good if that is it; but this my post is not about the op, it is about how good bitcointalk is, op may have been the one to create this topic, but the replies have been very useful to me, and i feel it will not just be only me, but many other members too. I feel this is what makes bitcointalk the best bitcoin community with so much information, and to get it you just have to search or ask.

I Hope OP will be back soon and read all the useful replies by our forum mates because as we can see the last time he is around in the forum 1 week and 1 day but his last post is on August 19 which is three weeks before, maybe he start learning by reading books or in the links, or maybe watching  in YouTube.  But if he is not then all the replies here is not for her/him but to those users actually want to learn about crypto.
