I found this interesting read that there are  psychological tricks offline casino's use to make visitors spend more money, I have summarized the article and added the link at the end for anyone who wants to read more, Why? cos like I mentioned, it is an interesting read!

So some of these tricks are;
1. Enticing Design - You know casinos spend a whole lot to ensure that their interiors are exquisite and speak luxury, you always want to come back.
2. Lack of Clocks and Natural Light - No clock means you won't be able to know when it's time to go, the more time you spend, the money you spend.
3. Cashless Games - You buy credit for slots or chips, so you also may not be able to keep track of your money.
others according to the article are: Stimulating Lights and Sounds, Memorable Scents, Near-Misses, Familiar Concepts, a Sense of Control.

Casinos need to earn profits, but it is not necessary to use any methods that harm players. There are several ways to approach this issue, and online casinos can follow the steps made by offline casinos. They can try some of the techniques mentioned above to attract more people, while not harming them as suggested in the article. The major key in all of the above is user experience.

Here are some more common techniques that you'll often find in online casinos:
- They allow people to socialize and interact with other players, thus making the gaming experience more exciting
- They offer a number of bonuses and rewards to players
- They make sure that the games they offer are engaging and entertaining, so players won’t get bored after playing a few rounds
- They allow players to bet with different types of currencies
- They have customer support teams that are available 24/7, so players can get help whenever they need it

At the end of the day, it's all about making sure you keep your players happy. The better they feel while playing at your casino, the more likely they are to keep coming back.

These 3 things that you've mentioned are really common psychological tricks that casinos do. However, I think that the first one which is "Enticing Design" isn't really about a psychological trick at all since all businesses/establishment are somehow has a great interior design however Casinos are more of on the luxurious side as their target are huge paying customers or gamblers.

I think one of psychological tricks that should be also added are bonuses and membership. As these things usually attracts more gamblers to come back and continue gambling for a long time due to the bonuses and rewards that they could get on their membership at a casino.

Vast range of games so the one who wants to explore new will keep trying so the house gets the benefits from the exploring nature of a human?!... I am not sure about the tricks done by a casino traps us from not leaving them because only we are in control of our decision when it comes to online casino so we can just choose to leave at anytime if we want but the greediness of us keep ourselves to chase something.

1. Good and user friendly design.
This is the reason I am still using one gambling site based in UK, it has very easy design that even newbies can understand, but I do not like the site because it is only accept fiat and not accepting cryptocurrencies at all.

Casinos need to earn profits, but it is not necessary to use any methods that harm players. There are several ways to approach this issue, - They allow people to socialize and interact with other players, thus making the gaming experience more exciting
- They offer a number of bonuses and rewards to players

- They allow players to bet with different types of currencies
- They have customer support teams that are available 24/7, so players can get help whenever they need it
You have mentioned many of them, the only one that comes into my mind after all you have mentioned is deposit and withdrawal method, if there are available deposit and withdrawal method for people that have known the gambling site to have good reputation, they will register. That is why I like cryptocurrencies, they offer easier deposit and withdrawal.

I remember reading long ago that they also use our subconscious minds to their advantage. you might think that they place their games in certain places just for aesthetics or something, but no, their games are strategically placed to lure you into their casino without you actually realizing it. this might be a little off-topic but the funny thing is casinos are not the only one using our subconscious to their advantage, grocery store, supermarket, etc.. uses the same tactic in order to make you stay longer, and spend more money on their store.

I think there is no greater psychological tricks that casinos can use other than the enticement of huge wins. Greed is among the human nature.  Often times greed takes over when an opportunity present itself.  With the offer of huge winnings, people will flock in to that place.  One great example is the lottery.  It doesn't have any amazing sounds  but people keep on coming and the reason is to have a chance in winning the huge jackpot price.

I would also add the fact that some casinos also offer perks to their gamblers depending on how much money they put on the table. Casual gamblers can get some appetizers or a free drink, while high-rollers can get VIP access to casino/ hotel rooms, for example.
Either way, those are methods to make people comfortable in the casino and increase the chances they come back in the future.
One of my cousins had some preference for a casino (which was within a hotel) because they offered him free beer as he gambled.

When we do talk about physical casinos then i would adding this up to the list.

1. Having beautiful women or dealers or even just to those who do offer drinks or simply those staffs
- It might be simple but it is quietly effective on retaining users or gamblers inside the establishment considering that majority are
males then it would be understandable that we are really that too attracted with these beautiful ladies and stimulate
out that emotion which do result on liking on staying up on the place.

I've heard that in some high end casinos they have hostesses who pose as clients and make sure the wealthiest gamblers are having fun.
These girls play for free at tables and are always cheering and nice towards clients.

The lack of clicks and sunlight is a very obvious one. I've never seen a casino with big windows. They're always full of artificial lights but allow no natural light.

This is common in most physical casinos where their customers would feel relaxed and can do everything their want without noticing that they're already spending a long time playing and using a huge amount of money as capital. Their strategy is to entertain their gamblers and make them stay for a longer time so they could bet more than usual. They will make their customers feel valued so they will always come back.

Not that I'll ever experience this, but if you're gambling a rather large amount, they'll target you for free drinks, and sometimes free accommodation depending on your spending habits. Of course, it's not really free, since they're trying to keep you in the casino a lot longer, and have been monitoring you via CCTV or by just watching you.

I think this is a commonly known thing though, so nothing out of the ordinary. I'm not a particular fan of this method though. Any method really, honestly. Seems unethical to me.

Number 2 is true. Since there aren't any windows nor clocks around the casino premises, you'll not be able to tell time unless you really look into your phone or your watch. It's a trick that lures you into playing more and more since you're not aware of the time. Also, if you ask the casino staff around (tried this lots of times), they'd indirectly answer you or tell you some words to describe what time it is and not actually tell the exact time to you.

but that's how casino works unfortunately. they are looking for possible gamblers that will spend their money as much as they can. they know who's new inside their premises and potential targets. whereas, when it comes to online casinos, it is easy to get the list of high rollers because of their history. i believe that's the advantage of online casinos, they can easily get the list of potential high rollers because of the record of these gamblers.

It's not a trick but a necessary feature for casinos to catch the attention of the gamblers.

Obviously, if the casino is new, no one will ever be interested in playing at them if they don't put an effort from basic things to major ones. It's a must that these operators should do brainstorming in an attempt to lure customers to their casino.

There are other ideas the online casinos use to attract the customers and I don't know if they have been mentioned already.
Casinos try to use these means to pull customers like promotions, they give gifts and freebies to attract more players and like the promotion, they allow some benefit when on promotion. There is another idea which is using an attractive lady to advertise in their casino, men get attracted with women obviously. ::)

Yes, this is some well known tricks that the casinos have been using for many years now.

There are some casino's that I used to play many years ago that the design of their ceiling is clouds, Lol, forget what casino it was, but it is in Vegas. And for the manufacturer of slot machines, of course the design, the graphics, the sounds is all based on psychology.  Another is casino's serving free drinks, and most of the time there are performers and singers on stage so that you will get what you pay for, to be entertain for hours and as long as you play in the casino, you can get this freebies. But you already paid for them every time you losses your money.

This is part of their advertisements and they really have the money to hire professionals on handling their marketing side, this is the life of casino as well because if they lest unpopular then it will be hard for them to attract gamblers. Some promotions are really attractive since you can have some money even if you gamble small, this is good as long as they remain fair or else if they are not good at all then that marketing side is not worth it.

While appealing design can really be a helpful feature, making people play in the dark to lose track of time is a shady psychological tactic that many clubs use.
It's pretty much what strip clubs are doing when they get clients drunk so they spend more and they charge a lot of money for every drink.
Some people will call these business tactics normal and for some people these will be unethical. You have to decide for yourself.

Psychological tricks are very common, they have this department to handle their marketing promotions specifically and they have more funds for this because if the site is rewarding gamblers will always come back.

I also like the idea of having a colorful and bright casinos, it can make you feel like morning always and you are trap on a big machines where everyone is trying to win. Modern casinos today focus on their interior design and psychologically, they know where to put a brighter lights. This can affect and attract more gamblers, this is a good strategy for those casinos.

You can also add free snacks and accommodations to those who want’s to stay longer in the casinos, this can affect gamblers as well and if there’s an offer like that probably they see you as a potential gambler that are willing to spend more.

There’s a lot of things honestly and maybe you can assume that everything in casino came from a psychological study especially with the positioning of the games and the lightings. Casinos wants you to play longer and in order for them to do that, they have to give more freebies and other things just to make you stay, if you’re a weak gambler probably you will fall on this.

Another thing is making the ambiance of the Casino for social gathering.  If one person among a group of friend is a casino regular,  he will suggest that the venue will be on a casino whenever he meet up with his friend.  With that, the group of friend of this casino regular will be curious and eventually try the games in the Casino.  That way casino can have more player.

The placement of light, time and sound that makes us unconscious to play longer and spend our money, regarding the design seems to be in the placement of tables and slot machines. If compared to online casinos, maybe in chat interactions with all members, bonus programs or activities on the site, In my opinion these features make us communicate with each other to feel comfortable.

I can relate to this,  but to correct you @op, enticing design definitely makes me spend more money than I should, but it doesn't make me go back there,  what can actually make me go back there is if I enjoyed their services in the first time.

Quote

2. Lack of Clocks and Natural Light - No clock means you won't be able to know when it's time to go, the more time you spend, the money you spend.

This one is new and quite fascinating to me,  and I think I agree one hundred percent,  now that I know what this means,  when next i walk into an offline casino,  I am going to ask them why they don't have a wall clock,  let me see what their answer would be   ;D.

The overall design, from exterior to interior to small details and stunning effects are already common things that physical casinos should have. Just like in any other establishment, it was already planned during the construction that the finishing touches should be elegant and can make people's heads turn.

In most cases, physical casinos have decent gamblers on board, where we can say these people belong to a high standard or can we called "rich", casino owners need to level up their casino appearances with lots of comfort features in order to get these type of gamblers.

Not just to get these people thru psychological means but in every business, a wonderful look is a mandatory thing that must have to get a good impression.

With the combination of design and sounds, that's really encouraging and fun to go back to a casino.

I've read too about these things that make a person goes back to a casino and that's why most of the casinos are having those fun sounds that they use for their machines and specific games.

No doubt why many keep on coming back on a casino, physically or virtually due to these factors.

^ Probably this matter of what the experience that they have, if they satisfied on the first day that they went probably that group of people will come back and play again. It includes a cool place, a nice view and of course, many staff women around that could probably gamblers will lure to come. Satisfaction as a customer will most likely people like, they could stay longer in that way especially if a casino threat newcomers like a VIP. However, there are too many ways to lure gamblers to offline casinos, it depends on the marketing team if it will be able to manage the fund that could spend all of these.

As I have observed that majority of them knows each other already and I was just thinking maybe it was here in this casino that this people meet and maybe became friends outside, who knows. And so they come back, see this people again, have a chat and ask how much they are winning or losing, anything that strikes a combination.

3. It doesn't affect me at all since I play on mute most of the time.

In physical casinos, the temptation is big to continue betting because they have loan sharks around to sustain your pocket whenever you want it, now you cannot find loan sharks online you have no choice but to log off.
In physical casinos, the ambiance and the crowd, and the perks of just being there will make you continue to stay even if you don't have money anymore, compared to online casinos where you just log off because you don't have money that you can use to bet, between the two physical casinos has a lot of psychological tricks for you to bet all your money or even loan, the location, and the atmosphere will exhaust your pocket and beat your resistance.

I would say that ... it's all about marketing!
Or else yeah you can call it a psychological tricks or whatever , the point is that you are trying to sell your products/ services and of course you need to treat your potential customer as great as possible otherwise they might won't generate you a single penny.

Just an ordinary marketing move. It seems exaggerrating to blame on casino who looks force us to play.

It's not only in casinos really, most businesses would have a trick or two that they do when it comes to say, arranging their products, the order that the customers see from when they enter to the very end kind of thing.
3. Cashless Games - You buy credit for slots or chips, so you also may not be able to keep track of your money.
Basically how arcades work. It also dulls their sense of money since you don't get money in return in some of their games, you get tickets instead which you can redeem with. Since they don't have a clear translation for how much each ticket is worth, it kind of just goes ignored and let's people enjoy the game without minding it. I think some of the simpler tricks that you'd see would be the prizes and promos that they have that make you think you're at an advantage by redeeming it, but it's actually all the same for them. Also in irl casinos, you'd see that most of them has this like party going kind of atmosphere which influences you're mood in a positive way even if you're losing.

It's hard not to fall on land-based casinos they have everything to make you stay and forget everything in the outside world, like food entertainment like a band inside the casino venue, and of course, wine and energy drinks, and these are all free they target the mindset of the individual to just keep enjoying and let the hours fly away, of course, your money also, I have been to these kinds of casinos and the hours just fly away without me noticing it.

On online casinos as long as you have the money you can stay, one of the tricks of online casinos to make you stay on the site are tips and faucets they may be small but it compels you to wage more if you're winning using funds coming from faucets.

And that's why casinos will offer a venue for meetings and the gambler will have it decided that it seems to be a good place for such meetings and gatherings.
That will really encourage customers to use that place of theirs and eventually if it happens, the invited guests are going to get curious about the games and then soon, they're the next potential customers.

We are talking about physical casinos and not online ones which there's soo much difference when it comes to ambiance and real experiences in between them thats why if we do talk about physical casinos then it would be

always pertaining about having no windows, having no clocks, having those beautiful women around and other things which make people do stay up on the venue which it would really be just normal for a business owner

to place up all of those things as long it could really give out positive impact towards its business. These are the typical ones and others been mentioned by other members as well which we do know
that it is effective and been used up by this industry for ages now.

Once we pass by a casino, for sure we will not consider at least visiting them if they don't have good appearances right? For me, those are not psychological tricks but rather an important component for the casino business to attract people to visit their site.

That's a thing to be prioritized since gamblers want a comfortable view while doing gambling.

Gamblers also want a relaxed environment that's why interior designs should give that feeling to all gamblers playing there.

Some other things aside from this is their promotions, they give more rewards if the gambler spend more, this can be more attractive on the side of a gambler.

I find it common when talking about the design and strategy of the physical casino and the malls itself since most of them are almost the same. They have a good interior design that will make you comfortable plus there are no clocks and windows although there are no free seats but if you go to the food store there's a lot of them. I guess it's to prevent people from staying in one place that would most likely not gonna attract to the other stores while the casino they have seats but only available in every table or machine that you want to play.

A land-based casino has a different atmosphere that is very different from all the places that you visited to get entertained all of these is to make you feel at home, they offer free drinks, food, and entertainment so you forget the outside world I read in one article that some gamblers can stay in casinos for weeks or even months because they have a hotel nearby, that is why many casinos are located inside the hotels, they both make profit from the presence of gamblers, of course on an online casino you can play whenever you want to play you don't have to dress up or the need to drive if you have the urge you are one click away, and that's already a big temptation.

Agreed. This only show how good they are on marketing there business. There main source of profit is for players lose there money in there games and they are using this feel at home vibes to let player stay and spend more to convert on casino profit. People knows it but they keep on coming because they love the entertainment that they are getting on it. This psychological tactic is not a trick at all because players knew it and they just like it. This is a marketing strategy in my opinion.

I found this interesting read that there are  psychological tricks offline casino's use to make visitors spend more money, I have summarized the article and added the link at the end for anyone who wants to read more, Why? cos like I mentioned, it is an interesting read!

So some of these tricks are;
-snip-
1. I am sure not all casinos have luxurious interior. They all almost looks the same unless you join a high class vip casinos.

2. You have your phone with you or your own wrist watch?

3. Much better. You can at least set a budget how much you will be spending when buying credits/chips.

-snip-
Now I understand that Online casinos are not left out and also apply some psychological tricks on us. The aim of these topic is not to say that it is bad as all businesses have their methods to increase profits, but for us to collectively highlight some psychology that online casinos can use. I have identified some as they are similar to those the articles highlighted as it seemed to be mostly focused on offline casinos, they are;
1. Good and user friendly design.
2. Cashless games is definitely among.
3. Stimulating sounds seem to be one. (Please add to the list)
1. Yeah, more simple = faster.

2. Aren't all online casinos cashless? you pay with card or crypto.

3. Sounds to affect but I guess most people prefer to play without a sound. At least me.

4. I can add one: Flashy designs that attracts your attention when you win (and sometimes even when you lose!).

Casinos are a business so we cannot really blame them when they try to obtain as many profits a possible, one very basic trick they have on their design, especially those big casinos at Las Vegas, is that you cannot go to your hotel room without going through the casino, this is done to tempt you, that way unless you are completely determined to not gamble that day something could catch your eye and you may decide to gamble out of impulse, then casinos can use their many other tactics to keep you gambling and spending more money than what you had in mind.

Particularly, the offline casino doesn't have windows where you can look outside. Even their toilet rooms do smell great that I once ate my choco bar inside it. Its gross I know but I've seen gamblers sleep inside the cubicle for hours. Speaking of ladies, casinos intentionally hire sexy dealers with big tits like in online casinos to deal cards.  That's a psychological trick.

This is how some of the casino work in our country too. They even give you some free bet vouchers to try their casino games when you check-in on their hotel. You will definitely be tempted to gamble because of those free bets they gave you especially if you managed to win some amounts.

Food is also the one that some of the hotel casino usually do to attract people to gamble. There are some people that gambles on those casinos for the snacks that they're offering.

With the casino it is good that they make their onsite more aesthetically pleasing to their players at the same time has a good and fast quality of service so they came back, again and again, to enjoy with their satisfaction that's why they are the one of the most favorite place in terms of entertainment, and if this is an online gambling casino most of the time people are seeking for the good UI/UX by that they can easily courage to explore in their website and next is the fast transactions, service and a lot of bonuses, boost and more so players will now make a game to their platform.

Yes, that's a way to attract people to be their guests and customers that will eventually spend money that shall go to the revenue of the establishment.
It's a common way and practice for these businesses to have a good type of design so that they won't be missing the attractiveness of their business alone.

The clock though it is very obvious, they don't put one so that you won't notice the time and even if you have your own watch, you will seldom look at it specially if you are winning.

And yeah, the design, the placement of the slots and then they will get the slot that will have a good audio and sound in front to that when someone comes in, the first thing they noticed is that machine. I still remember one player, he says that when he ever goes to a casino, those slot machines seems to be calling him, lol.

These tricks are not being used only by casinos, the saying “we eat with our eyes first” is a very old one! Make someone feel comfortable, nice music, nice surroundings, pleasant and fine girls, and man will spend money! It can be a casino or restaurant, any big store or whatever! I know it works on me definitely!

When it comes to online casinos we all look for UI that suits us, we like when everything is well arranged and easily accessible! People consume with their eyes and if don't like how it looks we will not spend time there, more important we will not spend money there!

You are not wrong because the ladues hired in casinos are having good stature, shape, curves and they are attractive, even while speaking and the way they do is sexy and professional. Men like that and because of that, they will spend more time in casino.

In online casinos, having good website, good customer care, fast withdrawal, deposit bonus and promotional offers will help to let online casino to move forward and progressing.

Maybe 100 years ago these tricks worked, but now it sounds ridiculous. Luxurious design? - firstly, this is subjective, and secondly, in any store/club/other institution, the decoration is no worse. Missing a watch? - I can't remember the last time I saw a watch not in a watch store, it's just irrelevant in the age of smartphones. The only thing that somehow works is cashless games, although now most people initially use bank cards, so the impact of this item is minimal.

It's true, the environment will make you feel comfortable.
2. Lack of Clocks and Natural Light - No clock means you won't be able to know when it's time to go, the more time you spend, the money you spend.
I didn't know why I didn't notice that. I was trying to shake my memory of when I was in a big poker room before, and yes I don't remember a clock being there. I always look at my Nokia phone  ;D (old school) to determine the time.
3. Cashless Games - You buy credit for slots or chips, so you also may not be able to keep track of your money.
others according to the article are: Stimulating Lights and Sounds, Memorable Scents, Near-Misses, Familiar Concepts, a Sense of Control.

As I said above, they will always try to make you feel comfortable, at home. You can even buy your food and drinks or they can serve them to you so that you won't need to come out. Because once you do, there's a chance you will think about how much you spent and go straight home.

The ladies have been known for this lately and they understand this as part of their employment. For the offline casinos, the ladies really go as far as dressing to attract men and their male friends usually cluster at the game house . And like I said it is also part of the practice with online where casino website use women for marketing.

In online casinos, having good website, good customer care, fast withdrawal, deposit bonus and promotional offers will help to let online casino to move forward and progressing.

This is true especially for promotional offers because that will be first attracting factor for a new player to come around and try before others you mentioned will follow. People like gift and things they benefit above the worth of what their money can afford for them. Like it doesn't kill if you pay for one and get two or more for free.

The clock is a trick borrowed from supermarkets,in most modern European supermarkets there are no clocks so people can buy more things, the same concept is applied to casinos because it is a proven working one.I think that what entices most gamblers in these land line casinos is what I see lacking here the free drinks concept. Most casinos where I live when they were operating as now they are all banned except the biggest one which is outside the city, they were offering free drinks and sometimes even snacks,I got there with friends and while I gambled a couple of my friends that were only being company to me were getting free energy drinks and vodka or whisky so this was why they came with me.I think this should be definitely added to the tricks casinos use to get more and more gamblers to play there and spend their money there.

Yes, that's true because casinos know how to provide interesting things to their users so that they can return to their casinos. Sometimes, they notify the promotion via the user's email and provide some kind of useful code to be able to get certain bonuses. By using everything that can keep the user coming back, the casino can definitely be the one that the user recommends to his friends. This can be an effective strategy for the casino to grow its business and reach more members in the future.

Yes, one of the mainstays of attracting customers from casinos is that the drinks are usually free and there are also some free snacks, and that's usually in the big casinos.
In fact by giving out free drinks to customers, casinos help weaken the customer's decision making skills which means you tend to spend more money and time inside the casino.
and there's my park that bets its money on too much alcohol, in the bigger casinos, and the drinks are free because they expect you to lose because you'll be playing out of control and having a hard time concentrating. Unknowingly your losses include free drinks and food.
Casinos will use various means to attract customers and enjoy the amenities, beauty, fragrance and so on and go home with nothing.

I am by no means a psychologist or neurologist but I am pretty sure that the gambling casinos also use lights and sounds to entice people into gambling. Maybe even small wins are used strategically to entice more gambling. I know (from documentaries) that the supermarkets we buy food at even use lighting, product placements, colors and mirrors to psychologically trick people into buying stuff they never even wanted in the first place when they entered the shop.

If it were up to me, all those kinds of dirty tactics should be outlawed. Its basically almost the definition of scamming/tricking people.

On more thing the casinos like to do is install air filters that keep the air clean and adds fresh oxygen to it. This helps to make the gamblers feel more awake and fresh. Together with the no window rule the time will pass more quickly. I remember my first few nights in Las Vegas leaving the casinos and realising that's it already 6am and the sun is up again. The whole concept of physical casinos is entertainment, free alcohol while gambling is a big part of it. For online casinos all these things are not an option, for them the casino games itself are the focus. I wasn't aware that casinos play thei music, my browser might have the sounds turned off and I mostly listen to my own music or have the TV running in the background. I think having a large variety of different casino games is the best for online casinos to stand out from others and keep the gambler engage the longest.

For number 2 on the list in the article for traditional casinos, seems can't be done in online casinos since there's predetermined clock in our phones. I think the future of online casinos are to be hyper realistic that people may think we're still in the physical setting and I think the Metaverse is the key to this success.

Most of the dealer in online casinos are women, and the casinos hire them for the very specific reason, to attract gamblers so they can stay longer. Though having no windows are pretty normal, but if you go to the casinos you can just easily go out and see what time is it using watches or your phone because it's not prohibited to have your phones with you. Tricks like this are still working honestly, we might not know the real numbers but casinos are doing great job on this, they also adopt the new technology just to keep updated and stay in the business.

You mention one good case, I mean the camaraderie amongst gamblers and even the casino employee themselves. As I have observed that majority of them knows each other already and I was just thinking maybe it was here in this casino that this people meet and maybe became friends outside, who knows. And so they come back, see this people again, have a chat and ask how much they are winning or losing, anything that strikes a combination.
Chat interaction will make gamblers get to know each other, and if they know each other, they will automatically return to the site to gamble right, the striking difference between physical and online casinos is just that. I think it's a psychological trick too, when our friends or other people win and announce it in chat will make us to try any game he has been won, but that's not bad because there are many benefits in a chat any information etc.

That way people will go back again in their casino right? they made the casino feels like a haven so that people can rest and play. It makes them go back because of the good things that they can get in the casino, they will thought that they can be entertained more that they ask which is like what you said it is already been paid by them obviously without them being aware to it.

They always make gamblers feel comfortable to make sure that they will always seek gambling as their comfort when they feel stressed. That's how they make gamblers stay and make sure that they will stay longer by making them feel at home and treated so special. Temptations are everywhere in physical casinos and vices are also present. For number 2 on the list in the article for traditional casinos, seems can't be done in online casinos since there's predetermined clock in our phones. I think the future of online casinos are to be hyper realistic that people may think we're still in the physical setting and I think the Metaverse is the key to this success.

There is a certain paradox here: at this stage of technology development, this is impossible, and when these technologies appear, they will be available to everyone and the casino will not have an advantage over any other games/projects. I think that the future of online casinos is the same factors that make it popular now: mobility, accessibility, weaker control from the state.

Online casinos make everything easy to do. There are many games available and of course this will increase the interest of gamblers to continue playing. In addition to the game, many of the graphics displayed are very comfortable and up-to-date. weak control of the state because online casinos are not widely detected as gambling and they online casino owners also do and register their gambling websites, so some countries will not block them.
Currently, there are many cashless gambling games. But behind all that, to get playing coins, you have to buy it from a retail coin seller or on their official website. this is tantamount to cloaking a gambling game by using internal coins.

This is very correct and this only can make gamblers to return to casinos many times because they have friends who might be online and they can chat with. When there is consistent interaction between gamblers, they tend to make friends and shares strategies and winnings with other gamblers which can motivate the ones that have been having difficult time with gambling. There are may ways casinos can attract gamblers to join there platform which involves different strategies and technologies.

It is not only casinos that use these psychological tricks. Almost all the activities that take place in large covered areas such as major malls, bars and restaurants as well. I do not understand why the author of the topic seems surprised by this.
The most important factor that casinos provide is the amount of luxury that the visitor feels, which increases his sense of comfort that prevents him from leaving even if he wins and encourage him to come back again.
These plans are taught in universities specializing in marketing. It is not new.

5. Near-Misses

Slot machines can be programmed to use near-misses, which can keep players playing. A near-miss is when someone comes close to winning.

A slot machine player might get four out of the five symbols needed to win. When they see they’re only a symbol away from the top prize, they get filled with excitement. Even though they don’t win the jackpot, they might believe they have a better chance of winning next time. They may also fear that if they stop playing, they’ll miss their opportunity to win big.

Researchers investigated the effects of near-misses on the brain and found that near-misses stimulate the brain’s reward system despite no monetary reinforcement. So, just the excitement of almost winning can be just as pleasurable as actually winning. This effect increases the desire to keep playing and may also be associated with a gambling addiction.

Many slots players fall for this.  I also observed this when I play slots.  I have lots of experience like this, at first, it do affect me to be excited and bet more since I felt I am almost there to hit the bonus round but later, I have gotten used to it.  I just think, if it hits it hits, near-miss is nothing special and just another none bonus-triggering spin.

Near-misses could really give out that kind of hopes and triggering out emotions inside of you specially it do really goes effective whenever you do really have that hope on chances on hitting those jackpots or

high multipliers which whenever you do experience these near misses then you would normally be thinking that maybe next time it would really be a clean hit on the spot which do make out that desperation until

you havent notice that you are gradually blowing up your entire capital for that gambling session.Next? You would lost all of your funds and you would be coming back on the next day
and funding up your account and aim on the same thing all over again and again.

well, many physical casinos have sexy women as employees to serve customers and most of the time these employees wear very short clothes so they can divert attention from customers and they don't focus on the game, not to mention that in these physical casinos they also have alcoholic beverages which is also another item that causes customers to lose concentration on the game and as a consequence lose money at the casino. but what is the strangest thing about all this and all people know this and even so they prefer to go to the physical casino because they are just looking for that kind of fun

I happen to see some pattern on this near-miss thing.  An example of the pattern I saw is on some slots games on Play'n Go.  I happen to experience this several times, when a game such as Reactoonz gives us a cliffhanger scenario but never gives the bonus round, there is a huge chance that it will not give us the bonus round and the following spins are almost dead spin.  Same goes with wild frames, Honey Rush, Gigantoons etc.  So whenever I see this kind of setup, I stop chasing the bonus round and just hop on the other slots.

Not only sexy but gorgeous women staff.  This makes man to come back to the casino in hope to see the female stuff they are attracted with regularly.  This is one of the best trick of land base casino in luring more players to their establishments.  While online casino lure players by offering lots of bonuses, competition and and many promotions.

There is a whole lot of interesting research on how all of our senses are exploited or abused to manipulate us and that also applies to casinos of course. One of the senses that casinos manipulate is the smell. Everyone who has been in a casino probably knows what I am talking about. It is not that they smell all the same, but they usually have some special smell that you then quickly connect with positive emotions and memories. Las Vegas is a good example. All the casino places there have a refreshing smell and it is said to make players stay longer and be more prone to gamble for more money.

One of the articles is called "How casinos manipulate our senses to encourage more gambling". It is worth a read, but there is also much more about "sensory priming". So yes casinos do in fact manipulate their customers from many angles that a lot of people aren't even aware of.

There are indeed instances which you could really able to somewhat finding some patterns on some scenarios and once you do prove it out or totally experience it all over again and again with real engagement

and this is where you do really make some steps on avoiding it since you do know on what would happen next but honestly speaking everything is really that random but we cant really just resist whenever our
intuition and feeling inside would be telling us on skipping that round yet we've been fucked up for how many times with that kind of set-up.
So it is really depending on someone on how they would assess out such things.

I have never been in a big casino or I had not considered the possiblity they used the scent of their facilities to keep people coming.

I did not assume casinos had a bad scent or were unpleasant but I thought there was nothing special about it, just the regular smell one could find in any regular well-cleaned hotel or something like it.

Oh this is very interesting! I actually did not notice that casinos tend to hide their clocks but it makes sense as it prevents people from knowing what time it is. In addition, all of the casinos I previously visited have this "chip" system where you exchange cash for these and they represent the main currency in that gambling establishment.

Though these psychological tricks are present in an actual casino, I wonder if there are similar tricks or different methods where they can integrate this kind of thinking in online casinos. Do you guys also think that there are any psychological trick/s that are adopted in online gambling casinos as well?

With online casinos it is quite hard to read the user minds. With real Casinos everything is visible and face expressions itself more than enough to understand a person's situation. With online casinos only thing that can be done is triggering. Whenever we search something related to gambling then onwards Google keeps suggesting things related to it. In such a way gamblers might get triggered to gamble and such tricks as real casinos can't be made effective.

Nope its kinda the same since most of the time they use winning scenarios where people get curious to see about how those people earn that way upon playing to their casino. This is why we see they post those huge win because for sure they can increase the curiosity of the people who seek money from playing gambling. Also the entertainment factor is another method they made that's why they caught up many people to play at their casino.

Posts of big winners definitely can stir the interest of some players.
It is like their motivation to have the same fate, but unfortunately, it is no easy feat.
But a good way to advertise the casino as it means, they are also capable of paying up big winnings.
It also give an assurance that they can take care of players with huge payouts.

However, there are legal tricks that casino do to attract people psychologically like giving them a bonus and a lot of promotions on deposits, etc. Casino know that the more the people deposit, the more people will play and lose  :)

If I could add something to the list it'd be the price conversion that most crypto casinos don't have. In a way, it's similar to the cashless games as you don't know how much you'd be potentially risking per bet, and without having a convenient way to know the current price i'd just estimate it based on the previous price I remember. Usually, it works but it's not good to be careless when there are times that crypto goes down a lot within a day or two.

The reason is main goal of the casino is to bring entertainment and of course, if you make an observation most of the men are gamblers and one of the satisfaction that can bring the casino is the desires of the players. People who are already satisfied with the things currently they have most of the time neglect the negative side as long as they are enjoying the things they currently experience.

For physical casinos I would like to add bands and entertainment there is a cocktail lounge in some famous casinos where players can unwind for another round of games and I find this feature very appealing to players and one of the casinos' strong features once they unwind they will be motivated to play and gamble again and of course, that's profit for physical casinos.

For a real physical casino, the best thing that casino can do is to make people stay for as long as possible so that they may spend more money. This money can be the one that they brought with them or it can be the money that they have won at the same moment in the casino.
Casinos usually hire attractive girls in the casino which keeps the players busy in the casino and they usually keep spending money gambling while in company with the gambling house girls.

Maybe we can overcome this by having the discipline to risk the same bet and not changing it to a higher value because of course, the risk will also increase. But I guess there are crypto casinos that use fiat conversion for betting so we can see how much USDT we are using per bet. If we only use various bet values without limits, it is the same as increasing the risk of losing money. Thus, it does not help us reduce the risk of losing money in gambling and can relate to our mentality after playing gambling for a few rounds.

Casino owners are always trying to make the casino more attractive. The decoration of each casino is usually glitzy and extravagant. A gambler's ‍attitude changes as soon as he enters a casino. Usually gambler gets everything he wants which makes a gambler more attracted to the casino. Besides, various beautiful girls are kept there for entertainment. Food is also provided to satisfy hunger. People believe that casino owners make casinos into a sort of paradise that psychologically appeals to the gamblers.

Basically Casino owners wants to make you stay there longer than you intended to. There are such tricks in the OP that can make you unconciously tricked by them. There is also another way like them offering up hotel rooms for cheap and having you earn points for you to have a free accomodation to them. This can make you think to play more for you to take advantage of them but it's the opposite. They are making you take use of their amenities as much as you like as long as you gambles with them.

every land-based casino will design in such a way for the convenience of every visitor, all the luxuries are in a land-based casino, all for the convenience of each customer. It's just, I didn't realize this was part of a psychological trick.
as well as casinos that are on cruise ships, not much different in terms of comfort, atmosphere, facilities, food and drinks are available for free.
Regardless, this is the fundamental difference between land-based casinos and online casinos.
However, as you said, online casinos also have psychological tricks in implementing their business, one of the advantages of playing online casinos that all members will agree on is, there is no need to go far from home if you just want to play gambling.

I was one of it actually but im sad now because my old friends are not online anymore. I don't know what happen to them but I hope they are still fine and doing better with their lives now away from gambling. This could be the reason on why I am now rarely playing.

I once tried to make new friends but guess what happened? These new players simply ignored me. While if I try to show my winning bet, everyone in the room will then greet me. This is clear that they only care for the money.

I will agree, although I socialized in landbase casinos, talking with players let say when I'm in a table or someone besides me in a slot machine. But most of the time, some of the individuals specially if they see you winning big will suddenly talk to you and it just shows that maybe they want you to give them tips. But I'm thinking, if I'm not going to win, for sure this guy are not going to approach me. So just be careful from those kind of individuals you will find in the casinos.

As we know already Branding is one major key note that is common to online and offline casinos. Is most likely to be a competition among Casino's then the next i think is bonuses, at this points they offers best deposit and ref bonuses to attract bettors the more.
Talking about sound, for sure it makes you and i feel good and relaxed making the games or gambling site more interesting. If we must talk about socialization then we have to term it in offline or local shops where bettors interact with each others, probably would share some common games and ideas to summarized about new teams and clubs or newly assigned players, these are features online do not have.

If you visit a thread here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403930.0/) you will see that it's one of the main reasons on why a gambler can go back to a casino that they are playing with.

Some gamblers are playing to make friends, and I do agree with this one entirely. I tried to befriend a lot of people in the Nitrogensports trollbox back then and I made a lot of mates along the way. Even if I am not making an active bet, so long as I'm on that trollbox chatting with other people, I feel like I'm already satisfied for the day. Sounds cheesy but this is true, and it's one of the ways to get your experience complete in gambling IMO.

I think befriending people and socializing in physical casinos isn't anything odd, you'd most likely play together in some specific gambling games after all. Not to mention that I'd like to think that gamblers have this open mindset of socialization since it's an integral part of casinos themselves, hence why the setup of people being together at tables. That doesn't mean that there aren't any individuals that wouldn't do anything wrong or bad to you.

Physical casinos:
- Hiring women to attract customers to gamble on their casino
- Serving free food and alcohol up to certain extent
I think the women thing is kind of biased? Just in general hiring attractive personnel, whether they be men or women with pleasing personalities should work. Also casinos wouldn't pass up on that money, so selling alcohol instead of giving them out would definitely be a part. Maybe a reduction based on VIP level or amount bet on that certain session instead.

It is something generic of the entertainment and general marketing business, they are literally being sold in every way.

In any case, it is a very widespread technique, for example some supermarkets, in the same line, lights, corridors, food spaces and even spaces to leave the little ones while you shop, in short, these techniques are only extrapolated to the type of business.

Question: in equivalence to off-line, mmhh!!  the vip programs, the interface, the active chat to understand that you are not alone, the banner with daily promotions, and even the immediate customer service, in general everything that makes you feel comfortable and reliable, but in a certain way it would be an equivalence very varied (tricky(!?)) in that sense.

With proper branding they can get the attention of the gamblers. Yes branding really helps all projects to market their business well with the use of Psychology related to business. If they can properly execute this one, no matter how many casinos out there will show, still they will get the hearts of those gamblers. I think those things are part of the strategy to make their own name.

Alcohol greatly boosts the player's excitement and as far as I know in many halls (where there is a corresponding limit on the minimum bet) alcohol is free - this is very funny, since anyone should understand that nothing is free, and this alcohol is just cheese in a mousetrap  ;D But as long as the mice themselves are happy to succumb to such tricks, the casino will provide such conditions.

I found this interesting read that there are  psychological tricks offline casino's use to make visitors spend more money, I have summarized the article and added the link at the end for anyone who wants to read more, Why? cos like I mentioned, it is an interesting read!

So some of these tricks are;
SEE ARTICLE HERE (https://www.gatewayfoundation.org/addiction-blog/casino-psychology/)

Now I understand that Online casinos are not left out and also apply some psychological tricks on us. The aim of these topic is not to say that it is bad as all businesses have their methods to increase profits, but for us to collectively highlight some psychology that online casinos can use. I have identified some as they are similar to those the articles highlighted as it seemed to be mostly focused on offline casinos, they are;
1. Good and user friendly design.
2. Cashless games is definitely among.
3. Stimulating sounds seem to be one. (Please add to the list)

Deposit bonuses.

They credit you x2-x3 amount of what you deposited but you can’t withdraw that money. They ask you to wager the bonus plus what you deposited few times before you can withdraw your money. Obviously you’ll probably lose whatever you got in your account because it is a trick lol

When you think about it, almost any other casino promotion falls in that category. Every promo they give is there to make you deposit money and play.

The more you play, the more you lose. Casino: Profit

I have seen this for myself also. They casinos make a side attraction like bar where gamblers stay out to drink and take turns to gamble. The customers do come to the casinos with their friends because there is a spot for relaxation and drinking while they gamble. Some put snooker, table tennis for customers for free and some rent on for a set and this encourage even people not regular customers to visit the casino because of all those attractions there. Such casinos in my area have a bigger turn over above others that are just only casino.

Yes, if they are good in terms of selling their brand even there are many competitions, they will still gain the attentions of the gamblers, there are many kinds of branding that each casinos are using to attract more players/gamblers to visit their platform, most common are the bonuses and promotions that each have different approach to catch the attention and make sure that they will gain engagements not for just a visit but more on long-term relation between the casinos and the patrons/gamblers that will use the site.

And adding to this kind of manipulation, most of the time we will see more girls that adds the attentions of more gamblers especially those who are really aiming for entertainment, boys night out will be celebrated inside the casinos where drinks and girls with good gamings that will really excite more gamblers.

Offline? I don't think its trustworthy at all because it's offline as you said, and you don't know what will gonna happen since most of gambling platforms are working online especially the legitimate ones.. So i don't know if it's safe and how they can convince users to participate and deposit money despite that its offline..

Oh this makes completely sense if a gambling website posts the winnings of an individual player in the current bet.

However, I wonder if there are gambling websites that post fake information/winnings on their website to attract more customers in the process. In addition, I think by posting the potential jackpot that one can win, this leads them one, thus affecting their psychological behaviour into betting more. While the effect may be relatively different compare to visiting actual casinos, the fact that these websites can at least reproduce the same affect is potentially alarming and dangerous.

Many people notice these tricky casino tricks, but still continue to play. Hoping to outsmart and beat the casino by playing by their rules? It's impossible. For me, all these methods of casinos using psychological tricks to lure players, in whatever form it is implemented, only say that any casino wants to take money out of the pockets of each gambler. The casino doesn't hesitate to use any "sneaky tricks" in order to achieve its goals and it is more expensive for itself (literally) to visit these establishments both online and offline. It is better to stay away,  so as not to fall under the influence of these very psychological tricks.

One of my all time favourite games I play whenever I visit online casinos are slots. Therefore, for me one of the Psychological tricks that I think online casinos use that may sound strange is the use of relatable themes for slot games. I mean from Ancient Egypt, Movie, Music, Adventure to Horror, and Space slots. I am always subconsciously drawn to them especially if I had seen relatable during the day.
Slots games are really entertaining and many gamblers are attracted if the slot machines have its own unique sound and design, probably you can see most of the slot games are with the gamblers. This kind of strategy are very effective on every casinos, they used a psychological tricks so the gamblers will be force to keep on playing. Some other things aside from this is their promotions, they give more rewards if the gambler spend more, this can be more attractive on the side of a gambler.
You are right, I am a player who is always aware of the best slots, and one of the casinos that offer them the most and every week more games enter are stake.com and bitcasino.io, these casinos really know how to hook slots fans and other techniques to keep customers there is that, make or bring new favorite slot games this is a fact other than that as you say the environment the atmosphere at least in land based casinos there are other distractions and apart from that, in a slot machine people usually spend hours trapped there, and this is something that they obviously take advantage of to continue attracting active players.

Ha, yes, indeed. They, bastards, have a lot of tricks to use XD still, I can't help but admit that the style and marketing strategy of some online casinos is a real art, lol
