Title: Avachance.com - Avalanche based lotteries secured with Chainlink VRF %100 Trans.
Post by: duffann on August 30, 2022, 03:03:12 PM
Hello,

We are happy to announce that https://avachance.com (https://avachance.com) is now globally available. Avachance is an Avalanche based lottery game. It is fully operated with the support of Chainlink's VRF system.https://docs.chain.link/docs/vrf/v2/introduction/ (https://docs.chain.link/docs/vrf/v2/introduction/) . With the help of Chainlink VRF, a fully randomized, secure and transparent number is drawn for each lottery. Every drawn number is tied to a participant so avachance.com never gets the pot. A participant always wins. Avachance.com only gets %10 of total prize pool and nothing more.

We always want to be fair and fully transparent. Our contract can be reviewed on Github. Github link is on the main navigation on our website.

Main Features and How to Play:

-Every lottery has a maximum participant limit. For the first few games, entry fees thus the prize pool will be low.

-When you connect your wallet, you will be able to buy a ticket if a lottery is ongoing. After you purchase the ticket, your ticket number will be listed under "My Tickets" section.

-Lottery ends when the max players are reached and a random number is drawn automatically with the Chainlink's VRF. Under the past lotteries section, the result of the lottery will be added to the table.

-Winning wallet will receive the prize pool automatically just after the lottery ends. No need to pay gas fees or claim the prize pool.

-A new lottery will begin shortly after the last lottery ends.

-Every lottery will have different total participants and entry fees. Some lotteries will be bigger with a huge prize some will be small.

Current lottery is Lottery Number 3 and has 5 max participants limit. We will increase the participant limits thus the prize slowly.

Current Lottery:

Lottery ID: 3
Max Participants: 5
Ticket Fee: 1 AVAX
Total Prize : 4.5 AVAX

Come and try https://avachance.com (https://avachance.com). Any comment or feedback is much appreciated.

Since your platform support AVAX (do you support Bitcoin), I guess you must move the thread in marketplace (altcoin section). If your platform support Bitcoin, you can keep it here.

Is there any system like lottery weight? For instance; if I want to buy two lottery for a single round, is it possible?

Hello,

Sorry, we didn’t know that. Yes it is possible to buy multiple tickets.

Lotteries are considered gambling games, so this forum thread belongs to the Gambling forum.
Buying two or more tickets for a small lottery pool would make the lottery useless. Imagine someone buying 10 tickets in a lottery that has
a limit of 20 participants and the other 10 participants bought only one ticket per player. This would demotivate many people into joining the lottery.
Anyway, this is an interesting concept and I wonder why it wasn't implemented before with bigger cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
OP, do you have any marketing strategy to promote this lottery? Perhaps adding a referral system would help for driving free traffic to your website and increasing the number of active players.
Good luck with this project.

Hello,

Thanks for the feedbacks! Actually, if someone buys half of the tickets, also his/her risk of losing a bigger amount increases so it is a matter of choice. They can icnrease their chance of winning to %50 with buying half of the tickets, but they will also risk their money.

Why we didn't choose ETH or BTC is, it is costly to transfer, join game etc. New chains like Avalanche, Polygon is very cheap for people to participate. We are thinking of adding Binance Smart Chain also but we need to see some participation in games.

Referral system is another topic we must think on. We want to grow slowly and securely but of course it seems like we will need some help for promotion of course.

The cheaper the token, the easier for users to play with it such as Matic. ForAVAX, I think more will see it as a good token to hold.

Why do you have Max Participants to 5 only?  The lottery is very new with a history of 2 lotteries only. I think this will need to be promoted first to AVAX community for it to gain trust here. While there are AVAX holders in the forum, there ain't a sure way they will participate.

For some reason are these kind of casinos need to be audited? I think it is since this is a dApp casino. Do Avachance have been audited by a third party to check if there are malicious bugs or something similar? If there is, can you give the community the chance to view it? Not accusing you or something but I or the community just want an assurance that we aren't connecting on a malicious dApp.

Hello,

You are right. It is not easy to promote to people without either false statements like "play and earn 100x" , "get back your bet if you can't win" etc.. or spamming people. We want to proceed without disturbing people, but we have to find a better way for promotion. Yes, only 2 lotteries are done. 3rd one is about to finish with 1 ticket left. So hopefully, we will increase the visitor base.

Thanks for the feedback!

You are right. They must be audited. Problem here is, for example we are a little startup company and it is impossible to afford an audition by a third party. They are too expensive. What we could do is that we open sourced our smart contract which can be viewed by anyone and anyone can check. Of course some level of knowledge about the code is needed. But someone from the forum that has this ability can do it.

Also we would love to get audited if someone can make it free of charge :). We wish, it was cheaper to request audit.

the community just want an assurance that we aren't connecting on a malicious dApp.

Suggestions;
From my end i would probably say before associating your wallet since is dApp is to make another wallet transfer the required amount of AVAX required instead of connecting your wallet to phishy website that is not thoroughly Audited.
We have to be very mindful with which at rate we connects our wallets to dApp and Dex.

Also we would love to get audited if someone can make it free of charge :). We wish, it was cheaper to request audit.

Maybe why not build your project internally before launching or after you might succeeded with all necessary documentation before announcing it and making any publication about what you have there instead not being Audited. What are the assurance to the forum or anyone using the platform.

That is the best way to securely connect a wallet to a dApp. Let's say you are going to buy a 1 AVAX ticket, transfer 1.03 AVAX from your main wallet to a newly created one and connect with it to be fully secure when connecting to any dApp.

Our smart contract is not a complicated one. Anyone with a little solidity knowledge can check for any insecure code but let me assure you: there is no malicious code or something :)

Well, if it's open source then you can just share here if you have a GitHub or just make the smart contract available to the public. The thing with third party audit is expensive and I don't think there will be a free of charge even in this forum. It takes time to audit and it is even done by a team and not just by a single individual.

I think making your code available to the public was the best course of strategy for people to view it. It would reciprocate later on if there's no malicious stuff on your smart contract, people would really want to try that lottery.

So is it like pooling the lottery money? For example, clients will keep buying the lottery tickets for the participation and out of the let’s say 5% is kept solely by you guys (your cut) and rest is for the winner. However, I do not understand one thing, isn’t there any contribution of lottery provider itself?

Are you guys affiliated with Avalanche project or is it just “based” on it without any relation with avalanche team or project?

Just asking initially doubts before investing.

Yes exactly. For the beginning, we are not contributing but after getting some traffic and usage we will of course contribute.
We are NOT in any relation with Avalanche team or project. Just using Avalanche network for Avachance.

Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately, many gamblers have little knowledge about solidity and do they have to learn that before checking and making sure that your project is clean if you want to gain support do the right thing and make the site audited by a third party when it comes to investing or depositing using a third party to audit is very important, that's a bad alibi if you tell us that you are a small company, players want to be on a secure environment, provide that first.

Hello,

Sorry, we didn’t know that. Yes it is possible to buy multiple tickets.
Since your site doesn’t accept or do the transactions with Bitcoins, it’s better to move it Marketplace(Altcoins)(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=161.0) section.
Also the site’s design is pretty normal. Rather than a gambling site, it just looked like a normal site designed with basic CSS and Bootstrap.
If you don’t mind, will you like to share the housedge of the site? Also I guess many of us here are not really interested in lottery games, so yes getting potential gamblers from the forum will be really tough for you.

Welcome to this forum @OP. Enjoy your time in this forum.

It's good to see one website specialising in one type of gambling, namely the lottery because not many gambling websites try only to have one type of game. Your website looks good and it's only a matter of time for you to get more players later. Maybe, for now, you can promote your website in this forum or elsewhere to attract more visitors who will try their luck.

Yes, you can, just do the right thing, the community can recommend what's missing in your project, and it's your job because you posted your project here to do what the community thinks should be added or you should do, I am part of those who do not like to integrate my wallet to a third party casino without getting audited when it comes to a decentralized casino it's better than its audited, it's for the reputation of your project, and players do not doubt your project.

I'm surprise that you are using single digits for the lottery ID. Your website has just been launched right? About that, do you have any plans of getting license?

Moreover, I think you should add more contents to your website, like FAQ, Terms of Service, etc.
The website is fine, but to me it lacks something.

Welcome to the forum, goodluck!

Hello Guys,

Thanks for the feedback.

- Lottery IDs are single for now, it increments with each lottery
- It is understandable that some players don't want to connect their wallet to new websites. But we have to start somewhere so a new temporary wallet funded with what is needed to play only can solve this issue.
- FAQ and terms of service will be added shortly.

Thanks!
