Title: [INFO] Crypto collectibles interacting with the Numismatic Market: Examined
Post by: polymerbit on September 01, 2022, 06:44:47 PM
TLDR;
We used the World's Fair of Money as an opportunity to gauge reactions of a strictly traditional numismatic market.
Our hypothesis was that crypto currency collectibles would be swiftly rejected.
The actual results were mixed, but also extremely promising.
The main takeaway we got from this was that people are receptive but lack the understanding of how crypto works.
Therefore; first and foremost- we have a responsibility to educate people about crypto.

Very good write up.
Really like how you detailed the reactions :D
Will give some merit when I get some.

Some great observations and details. Education is definitely needed. People still tell me they think it’s a scam and that I will go to jail for mining.

Thats quite a serious bit of research done polymerbit!

I really like the comment "This is not money" comment, I mean if that person was a
Numismatist surely they would understand that it is, just like sea shells were at one
stage in history.

It would be interesting to see what the reactions would be if the items on display were
graded.

Anyway very interesting

Well done. Very interesting. Im happy that positive reactions were north of 50%. If bitcoin changes the world and financial system then physical without question will be huge. We need to keep educating and keep scammers out. Every one of us has a duty to preserve the integrity of physical collectibles.

Wow thats a great write up. Thanks for sharing. I am not shocked by the results. Especially that of the elderly. But they will come around too eventually.  ;)

And some great items on display.

Wow this is a detailed write-up, I love how you've done it in addition to the demographics.

The "negative" opinions will change in the future, I'm not shocked by these results though a lot of elderly are still thinking this is a scam because of the mainstream news.. People buy the news, right?

Splendid work!  8)

the presence of Polymerbit at this numastic event alone is a win for adoption.
also find the summary very informative and interesting.
am also proud to indirectly promote Polymerbit at the BTC22 conference in innsbruck by showing and explaining some new notes there in the talks with other Bitcoin plebs ;)
