Title: Is Ethspro.com a SCAM? Unable to withdraw USDT
Post by: CamDavies on October 08, 2022, 09:53:20 PM
Wondering if I have been scammed? https://h5.ethspro.com/

I attempt to transfer USDT to Binance, the transaction lists as successful, however, the funds aren't credited in my Binance account.

Further, there is no TxID for transactions.

Support is ethspro@gmail.com which is unresponsive.

HELP PLEASE!!

I think there is something wrong either on the site from which you have withdrawn or the deposit site (Binance) but if you still can't get any solution then I want to check the network you selected at the time of withdrawal and the network of the deposit wallet. If they become deposited then that will be good.

Hi Shasan, I tried both ERC20 and TRC20 - on Ethspro it lists transactions as successful. No credit in Binance. Binance needs the TxID to trace - however, this information isn't listed on Ethspro. I can confirm the network and deposit address are both correct. The first transaction is from over a week ago, surely that is enough time?

How did you find this website?
I wouldn't trust a website which has been created only 96 days ago.

I doubt they have made any transaction, but in the case they have made the transactions, it's easy to find to their IDs. You can enter your binance deposit address into a block explorer and see all the transactions made to that.

That's more than enough.

How I found it is a bit embarrassing.. via an online conversation/dating app..

Thanks for the tip, I checked the deposit address, and correct, they haven't made the transaction:

This address has transacted 0 times on the Ethereum blockchain. It has received a total of 0.000000000000000000 ETH ($0.00) and has sent a total of 0.000000000000000000 ETH ($0.00). The current value of this address is 0.000000000000000000 ETH ($0.00).

Any ideas on the next steps?

Scammers sweet talking their victims into investing money to their fake no one has heard of exchange is a known popular scam. I hope you did not give any personal documents/sensitive info to them op.

Although recovery chances [of funds] are low, do check: What to do when one is in a pig-butchering scam (and many other romance/crypto scams) (https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/nz1y8h/what_to_do_when_one_is_in_a_pigbutchering_scam/) for some things you could do. See if your loss is tax deductible as well: https://koinly.io/guides/ (only few countries are listed)

The next step is to learn from your mistake and what happened.
Don't trust everything you read or hear, especially when it comes to messaging applications like tinder and telegram. Always, do your own research before using any service.

Edit:
I just visited the website in question and noticed something really funny.
Look at the following image. All the users are buying and selling whole bitcoins and no one trades less than 2 BTC.

It's not too elaborated because this is a common pattern of scammers in the past and many people still fall in love even though the web looks ugly and lacks information. At least you have learned from experience.

I hope they will take it seriously, including small fraud cases. Keep alert.

An old trick that scammers use even more when it comes to cryptocurrencies, because all they need is a website and profiles on social networks where they target people like you. I would bet that the person who cheated on you had a very nice profile photo, and what's even worse, in most cases it's not about women at all, but about men playing women.

For consolation (if that means anything to you), some people get cheated on for years, and I always remember this case (https://www.unionesarda.it/en/cazzaniga-the-volleyball-player-deceived-for-15-years-by-a-fake-girlfriend-who-stole-700-thousand-euros-from-him-behind-the-scam-also-a-sardinian-woman-d9dezva3) - a man was in a long-distance relationship with an alleged super model from Brazil for 15 years ::)

If it is already more than a week then it seems scam. However, would you like to post the receiving wallet id along with the network? And also, can you check the web you used at the time of withdrawing? If the transaction is still pending, then it would be able to check whether they have it on the blockchain or not.

Nothing much except reporting to the Police. You might want to track the address that you used for depositing the funds in case you did deposit some funds. if they are foolish enough to sent to a centralized exchange, with the help of the court order you can try to ask request for their details from the exchange.

In addition to what you've already done, you can also try using the following platforms [don't get your hopes up]:

  • Note: AFAIK, most of them aren't providing their services to individuals, but they might come in handy + I prefer to not vouch for their services [DYOR].

    • Chainalysis (https://www.chainalysis.com/)
    • Crystal Blockchain (https://crystalblockchain.com/)
    • AML bot (https://amlbot.com/)
    • CipherBlade (https://cipherblade.com/)
    • Elliptic (https://www.elliptic.co/solutions/crypto-investigations)

Unfortunately, "this (https://ghostarchive.org/archive/RRp3l)" isn't the only "fake" website that uses that template/theme:

I'm now making an effort to catch out scammers... game on. Thanks to Google Image Search I got this one last night using profile pictures from Hande Ercel, a famous Turkish actress...

https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0c4RzzafPSUWFL1N221Dq7EHg#Not_Hande_Ercel

I can't do too much apart from reporting their profile to Tinder, WhatsApp, and any posting contact numbers online but if it helps stop someone from losing money like I did it's well worthwhile..

Bloody hell man. I am not going to pound on you when you are down and you got scammed, but I just have to ask really? A dating platform should be about finding a new partner not investment opportunities. In many similar cases, it's usually a sexy Asian girl who finds you cute, interesting, and simply irresistible. So she can't help herself and wants to make you a millionaire so you will love her even more. Sounds like a story for cheap and badly-produced movie.

I hope this lesson teaches you not to trust unknown internet communication and confuse it with someone who wants only the best for you. Did you lose a lot of money?

Good luck with that!
I'm not trying to discourage you but catching scammers is not as easy as you may think. Some f them are very smart and expert manipulators. So be careful! you may fall victim to one of them while you think you are about to take him down.

Not sure I got this right! Do you mean you saw her and she actually looks like the actress or she i using her picture. If it's the latter, then you will find hundreds if not thousands of profiles on social media platforms using that picture as their main profile picture. Doesn't mean all of them are scammers, some of them are just fans.

If you spend a little time looking for similar cases on this board, you will probably find hundreds of times that have been reported. Almost in vain, they are increasing their alternative scam tools every time they get a new victim.

The most helpful thing is to spread as much knowledge as possible on the internet how common patterns of tinder scams (or other dating apps) trick victims.
