Post by: Lingesh_67 on October 17, 2022, 11:14:00 AM
Currently I'm new to mining regular coins are a little tad expensive than altcoin. I'm considering investing in altcoins any coin that can recommend to me?

So what does your title really mean? I don't think it has anything to do with your post. That aside, it is hard to recommend anything if you don't provide more info. What's your risk profile? How much can you afford to invest? Do you want quick profit or you're more of a long-term holder? Did you have any experience with crypto trading before? If you don't have any experience but still want to spend a hundred dollars on crypto, maybe buy BTC instead. If that's what you're interested in, then moving this thread to trading discussions board would be better since you're not really talking about altcoin mining.

Obviously, no one here is going to spoon-feed you on what to buy and what not too. You could probably buy coins that have stood the taste of time, like survived a couple of bear markets, and they are still strong. The likes of Doge, ADA etc

So I don't know how you relate your title to the post you made.

No idea if you know this or not but XRP can’t be mined. It was actually one of the first POS coins released which wasn’t mineable like 8 years ago or so.

If you want ripple you need to mine something like ETC and sell it and exchange for XRP. Or some other alts. My advice stick with the top 20. Avoid anything which is considered small cap.

You can't mine XRP, its better to buy the coin if you have interest and right now the price is down compare to its all time high, I am still running my miners probably at loss since its not profitable but its better to buy altcoins, since June 2022 my altcoin bags have increased 2x in value, it consist of Quant, Elrond, Ethereum and more.

XRP can't be mined, not sure why you want to mine this coin too.

Are you asking for which coin is good for mining or investment right now? If you want to mine, Monero, Ethereum Classic and Monacoin are a good choice since it's still profitable among other coins. If you looking to invest, I'd stick with Bitcoin right now since Bitcoin is always survive on bear market or any worse scenario in cryptocurrency situation.

Are you planning to mine coins or invest in cryptocurrencies? I stopped mining at 5 cents and don't see any interesting coins to mine yet. Perhaps Ethereum POW will gain popularity in the future because there is no censorship for transactions. But this coin is now more profitable to buy and not to mine.

Lots of answers.

Buy some Doge
Buy some Ripple

DCA them

can you afford $200 a month to spend

Buy $100 of DOGE for 10 months = 1000 spent
Buy $100 of Ripple for 10 months = 1000 spent

Or   $120 of Doge for 10 months in a row
And $  80 of Ripple for 10 months in a row

In 10 months you will have spent $2000

Hopefully that works

Our miner board is slowly evolving into an investment advice board :)
Now a lot of coins are cheap, and those that can be mined and those coins that cannot be mined. If there is no new gem for GPU mining, then we will have nothing to discuss.
