Title: Trading pair not found on Tradingview, how to add it?
Post by: bittraffic on November 03, 2022, 04:24:25 AM
I got a token airdropped to my wallet and I see its price going up. I have read what the token is about and is only listed on different DEX and one exchange such as MEXC. I'm thinking of playing around with it but I can't see it on Tradingview. Is there a way to do it like connecting MEXC data of a particular token pair to Tradingview?

I already tried searching "MEX:" on tradingview but was not found.

I can't check because you didn't mention the token, but probably try DexScreener? If you haven't tried it yet: https://dexscreener.com/

If the coin is traded on an exchange and decentralized exchanges, is it necessary to use TradingView to check it? I am not using TradingView, the only reason I wanted to use it before was alert but which I can get directly from the exchange I am using now, but I know there are some trading indicators alerts that people can use on TradingView, but why it is special than checking the airdrop coins on those exchanges directly where it is listed?

Precisely — people like using TradingView to be able to use indicators and stuff, and probably to compare charts on a single graph. Not sure why you'd want to use indicators on coins/tokens that are illiquid though.

Besides DexScreener, there are alternatives like
  • https://www.dextools.io/app/en
Previously, Coinmarketcap used dextools.io for token data but now they use their own one: DexScan.

These sites are cool because they not only provide trading charts but also give us liquidity pool information which is very useful for tokens that are available for trading on decentralized exchanges.

MEXC global and tradingview have an official partnership and it was announced in June this year (https://www.tradingview.com/blog/en/mexc-data-is-now-live-on-tradingview-32296/)
They should be able to up their market data unless if of course it takes sometime.

How new is the token that was airdropped to you and when did it get listed on MEXC?

The reason why it's not yet in TradingView is due to liquidity I can't even find any pair for "MEX".

If your purpose is to use tradingview for analyzing the Coin or token then the exchange you use has its own tool just switch it to an advanced trading chart you can also switch it to the tradingview screen.

Don't access the MEXC exchange through the mobile version their trading tools will be vanished.

If you are asking about this coin MEX - https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/mex, then according to the rating data, this coin is not traded anywhere. Also, this coin is not tracked by the Coinmarketcap rating. For this reason, you can't find it on Tradingview either. In addition, the coin you specified is not listed on the MEXC exchange - https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/mxc/
