In the last years gambling livestreams (mainly on Twitch) as well as gambling videos on YouTube gained more and more popularity. For my thesis I am looking for exactly such people who like to watch gambling livestreams.
If you watch livestreams where slots or other casino games are played, you are a very big help to me!

Would also love to hear your opinion on gambling livestreams below this post!

If you are looking for gamblers to collect such information then you are in the right place and I am sure many folks around here would be glad to help you out, however, be aware that also there are people here who use and store cryptocurrency and important credentials on their computers  to gamble in a daily basis and some will be extra wary when comes to clicking on any link they do not recognize. At least, that is my position when I browse the forum.

The research I conducted for a gambling website showed that there are three primary reasons why people like to watch gambling livestreams. That is, there is a casual fan, who likes the idea of gambling but doesn't gamble himself. There are gamblers themselves, who enjoy watching other people gamble and they want to learn strategies and tactics. Finally, there is the group of hardcore fans, which watches every stream in order to support streamers and be part of the community.

Even though some people might think that livestreams are overhyped in the gaming world and that it is a dead trend, watching other people gamble just for entertainment still has a lot of potential. Most importantly, it is unlikely that this kind of content will go out of style, as people like to watch others and learn from them. Most of these fans are learning the gambling techniques by watching streamers and then practicing it themselves on gambling sites.

Your second and third reasons, I think, nailed it. I myself do watch some streamers who are gambling on their streams but I did not search for it. Since I am one of their followers, it pops up on my newsfeed or wall as recommendation by the platform. But to those who are that hooked up with gambling, they are looking for streamers to get idea or strategies they could use whenever they are playing. Out of curiousity I also asked the same question as OP have asked, to my friends who are also moderate gamblers. Majority of them answered no, because they only gamble to kill time, nothing more. But two of them (they're 7 btw), has the same answer with mine ;streams do just pop up out of nowhere which catches their attention.

I watch some Youtube streams of really popular gamblers only when I find myself completely unmotivated to continue playing slot machines but yet something inside me tells me to keep playing as my moment will come.When I watch these streams that sometimes are usually long I watch all kind of winnings combination as they play with a much higher bet than I do and they tend to get the bonus round much more than I do because they keep playing much longer than I do.

I can't help you much you with the thesis as I do not like clicking links especially ones that has the word "lime" making me think of limetorrents web and the word "survey" making me think about all those sites that bombard you with ads just to earn some cents by doing surveys.

Yes I watch them from time to time but usually it's only for getting some bonus drops or because the streamer is funny or because the streamer is a sexy girl to be honest. I also watch them when there are giving the results of a tournament, a lottery or a game I've participated in. But watching a man or a woman spinning slots for hours is boring as hell and I don't really understand how people are able to watch that so long.

I don't often watch gambling streamers only occasionally when I really have free time and don't clash with sports matches which I think are more interesting to watch than gambling streamers who immediately feel bored if I watch it for too long, for example more than 20 minutes. I know many gamblers who really love to watch gambling streamers but I don't much love.

Could you tell us more about your research? For which purpose it is? Is it for your thesis?

Personally I always found weird to watch someone else playing/gambling, as a poor substitute to performing the activity itself. But maybe that's what people like to do nowadays - watch other's life - and it could be anything, from playing games to streams with real trading on stock market.

I tried to click the survey link and there is an information about the purpose of the survey.
The information tells reader that he is a university student who takes subject of General Psychology and yes it is a part of his final thesis.
By the way, I do not start the survey, I'm just curious about it and tried to read more by clicking the provided link.
For OP, maybe 10-15 minutes of survey sounds so easy but I guess you wont get enough respondents here.

I want to ask about "Watching online gambling livestreams." What if someone only watches the live streams occasionally? Is that mean that person should select "Yes"? By the way, I select "Yes," but I do not watch the streaming too often. I do not get any problem gambling and although I lose my money, that does not make me stop gambling on other days. I hope you can give the result of your short survey.

I would love to share my insights and answer your survey to at least help you with your study about gambling streams. Unfortunately, it seems like the link is not working on my end as I can't access on both my phone and pc.

Anyways, I enjoy watching slot games mainly on YouTube and Facebook streams, as I also feel excited since they bet huge amounts compared to what I bet on the same game. It also thrills me when they are winning huge wins and multiple combos.  To be honest, I didn't really search for those until they got into my videos while watching games and didn't expect to enjoy almost the same when I gamble myself.

Those YouTube streamings are very Charming; they could push you into something you made a vow to yourself never to try again which, Is exactly what happened to you. it's obvious that those vids are made to stream for certain reformatory purposes; one of which could change your perception of staking low, with valid reasons, supportively on the same motion.
Limetorrents hasn't done much damages to me, AFAIK. I dunno why you're scared of getting on that link 😂. If it's a phishing link, it'll noticed quickly, okay - except maybe for the word "survey", with ads that occupies space on data usage statistics.

Yes and no. I do watch them if there is something huge going on, like some event, something not to miss because there has been stuff where Drake gave out 500k type of events, and I wouldn't want to miss that, maybe I would be the winner of some huge amount? Who knows. But at the same time no, because I do not watch them as a hobby or free time thing, if there is nothing going on, just a regular streamer gambling is not something I would like to watch.

There needs to be something I could personally gain from it, that would be a reason why I would watch something like that, otherwise I wouldn't watch it if there is no gain for me in the end and it’s just a streamer having fun by himself.

I prefer to watch series of videos where gamblers set a goal and try reaching that step by step every new day, instead of watching random lives, so I can watch several videos which were recorded for several days at once.

They are also much shorter and go directly to the point, while lives can take hours to end. For me that is a waste of time and I don't sympathize with streamers very much because they don't look natural on their behaviors and seems to be always over-reacting to everything in order to create hype. They treat the audience like kids, what is annoying.

For me, the gambling streams were mostly just background noise whenever I'm doing something else, and sometimes it feels similar to watching a car crash, you know what's going to happen later on but a lot of people still watch and see how it'll unfold.

Already fill, I hope my participation in fill out the survey helps your thesis, interesting in survey not just about streams but also about gambling.
Yes sometimes I watching streams depending on conditions, when bored with gambling then I watch some streams slots or some poker.

Life is too short to streamers playing gambling and we watch them as an audience.  :(  I also think that what is the productivity of watching them gamble?  They win, it's their money and if they lose, it's still their money, and we are just wasting our time.

Also, many people don't know that those gamblers are making money while they are streaming live and therefore they have a reason to show themselves live for hours and hours.

The quiz is very interesting and easy to take. It hardly takes less than 5 minutes to fill the quiz. I hope many people fill the quiz as if more people will participate, the result will be the voice of the majority of the gamblers.

Another thing is that it will be good if OP compiles all the filled survey and come up with some sort of conclusion which may be beneficial for the gambling community.

Yes, there are times that I just feel like watching gambling streams, I don't know, maybe to refresh myself or to be just entertain seeing those huge bets by the streamers and hoping that I can be that whale in the future.  ;D

Of course we wanted to see their strategy, but for slots, I guess i will go for that max bet every time and then see how I will fare if I got the bonus spin with that amount of bet.

I tried to go to the survey site but the site is not loading, I have a good connection since my ping doesn't time out so I don't know where the problem is maybe I will try later.

About the gambling stream, I found them entertaining.  They also serve as information about the game they are playing and I appreciate those streamers giving warnings to the public about the reality of gambling.

I think there are antivirus that can detect a url if it's safe or not. Can't tell for now since I uninstall the antivirus which came on my computer but maybe someone can check it for the sake of others? And isn't it possible for the questions to be posted in here?

I think answering here are more faster than answering the question in a survey site because all the questions are not posted in one go but you are required to click on that next button in order to proceed on the next page and sometimes you need to scroll down a lot. I am really annoyed with this to be honest. We also have poll functions here in our forum which are perfect for those who are lazy to type their responses.

It varies to the streamers, if they're cute enough and entertaining I watch it whatever is their content and if they are into gambling that's a good content to watch.
But usually, the thing here is that most of these gambling streamers, they're sponsored by the casino that they're playing at. You'll feel that there's no tense anymore with it because they're okay to lose or to win.

Very well analyzed, the majority of the viewers are there watching slot streams to overcome addiction and watch someone playing it instead of themselves doing same. Why to waste money on slots if the streamer can't even hit 100x in last 2000 spins doing same things? It is always best to learn and enjoy process rather than feeding hungry slots with huge house edge.

I know and understands well that the survey was for your thesis purposes but just a suggestion that you might want to take out those question that I think doesn't necessarily like how watching a gambling stream feels since I'm sure only those who like to watch live stream will take part of the survey.

Yes, i tried to watch streamers and get some ideas about how they play and I might do the same thing expecting for the same luck. Twitch is not the only platform for them though but it affects many viewers, no we have to look for alternatives just to continue watching their streams. This is an interesting studies and will participate on the survey, hope you get the correct data and hoping to see the result as well.

Why not? even in a landbase casino's we watch how those huge bettors play the game in the table with $2k minimum bet. So when we see it in those streamers, we are really that attracted to see if he is going to win big or go bust with his capital and how he can sustain that run of is.

Hopefully the OP can get back and fix the link and maybe some of us here are going to help him with answering those questions.

There are interesting part watching live stream and usually their bonuses and promotions since most of the streamers are very generous which is their way to attract more viewers. Though I’m not watching via twitch before, i use other platform which is more convenient for me.

Yes, sometimes I watched online gambling Livestream but that depends on my own preference those streams catch my attention. No specific gambling content as long as I like to watch it.

As I remember I watched some streams before and i find it interesting though I didn't spend much time on that since I know they are just being part of the promotions of that site but some streamers seems more legit. Interesting as well to see the result of the survey, it's good if you summarize it using the given data and highlights.

^This is very common and yes, it varies on the streamers who gambled and played.
There are streamers that only care about the video content not using their own skills, some of them are for the purpose of entertainment only or to have content on that day, that is all. I don't watch them because I know what is the reason why they stream, they are just wanted to have content not the value of the video which is supposedly we capture ideas and skills but it is not. Sorry but I don't watch streamers if you seek ideas, but if you want to entertain, then, you must watch.

I believe yes, It would be possible given that streamers don't only stream at twitch for their gambling content. Well I'm the same, I'm also not fond of watching streamers play all night though I occasionally watch them when I stumbled to them whenever I'm seeking for entertainment but I don't really come and search for them. I've watched drake streams and I'm entertained because on how too many people are watching with me and the comment was bombarded.

edit: I just answered the survey. There are too many questions and questions are a bit long, I suggest to shorten it since there will be a chance that the survey participant might not answer the whole survey given that it is too long.

Speaking about gambling streams then they might look that flashy or something interesting but i dont really put up my time on watching these fellas.Just like the rest been saying that
that it is really just good for promotion nothingless.If they do won big then some people would be having that impression that it might be rigged and some would be saying that its legit

I do the same. I usually don't have time to watch any streams and if I have time to do it I prefer gamers because I also don't have time to play games so people following a story of a game make a good substitute.

When it comes to gambling streams I watch only well known people, celebrities, when they make a big show of their game and their stakes are high, like Drake does.

I'll try to answer the survey but my opinions may be biased as I'm an occasional watcher, despite being a frequent gambler.

Me too, it became a habit to watch gambling streams. Sometimes even though I am not playing too much or frequent these days I still watch those online streams related to gambling it gives me satisfaction but not really the kind of feeling when I am the one who actually plays but I don't know, it also gives me some tips in gambling.

I guess it's normal for us gamblers to watch and see this gambling streamers, not that we wanted to become one, but the fun and excitement. And there could be reaction to the win that are really genuine to begin with and so we can feel those streamers winning huge amount of money or even cashing it out.

Although we can do that, like playing free games, but there's nothing like seeing someone with real money, regardless if it comes from the casino that they sponsored or their own money that can be reimbursed later.

I also don't watch gambling streaming too often because later, it will become a habit that can make me forget to do other things and I prefer to watch streaming videos from Youtube ;D

But if I want to find out more about a game and I don't know what it is, I might spend hours looking for that streaming video until I can find it.

Not only that, but people also need to remember that since 2020 hackers have become more active and are using more sophisticated methods (ransomware, spyware, copy-paste hijacking...) to steal people's money.
In fact this forum is a perfect target for anyone with bad intentions looking to infect computers, since hackers can be sure that nearly 100% of users around here have cryptocurrency and many of us will have our crypto in a wallet installed on the same computer we use to browse on the forum.

Anyone is free to check the links they want, but I would personally never click on a link posted here unless it is shared by a reputable member of the community.
