Guys is there any product out there that acts similar to the MYCELIUM ENTROPY device that can be used to generate bitcoin keys for cold storage wallets? Something that can be used for generating keys over and over again and is atleast semi user friendly? Any pointer in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

  If you cannot find a Mycelium Entropy I would suggest using a Trezor or ledger and use the seed as an alternative.

Btw...if ever in NYC...bring your air gapped PC.
.and I will bring my mycelium....whilst having dinner you can generate all the keys you can have and save em on your PC using my mycelium entropy  ;)

another easy way is to download either bitcoin core or electrum or samr7 vanity gen and install them on an airgapped pc and then generate your keys as well. Also, be sure that whatever device you plug into the laptop, use only once and never plug that device back into an online pc after it has been plugged into the airgapped pc.


question - how are you generating them now for the coins you have assembled and sold?

Is there any risk when generating key pairs from a mycelium entropy device if it was previously owned?

some might say no but me personally - I wouldnt trust any hardware that had been used by someone else - what if there was a way to tell the device what keys to provide, say a given list that the prior user already has?

but to be honest, I dont know enough about that specific device to know if that is even possible - just my personal view is that I would not use it if used - just like I would never use a ledger or trezor that had been used by someone else.

It is possible to update the firmware and write your own if you wish, so it shouldn't be too hard to make it safe again if you know what you're doing.

Good luck finding a 2nd hand one to buy, very rare to find them for sale now.

This line from their webpage worries me more than dodgy key pairs:
"This device is not intended for use in safety-critical environments, or where its failure could lead to death, personal injury, or collapse of the Universe  :o

I create the seeds offline through a Raspi4 in BitcoinCore.

This small machine looks cool too. There are a few Videos out recently. Well done imo.
