Post by: seek3r on December 05, 2022, 01:33:53 PM
Due to the unexpectedly high demand, I have now decided to start an auction for this item:

Up for sale is a 1 Million Satoshi Gold bar with the serial #22 which was made by Alpencoin and comes with the COA. This bar was limited to 100 pieces and sold out very quick.

Still waiting for an answer of the winning bidder.  >:(

Since I haven't heard anything since the end of the auction and he has disregarded the following rule:

PAYMENT: I only accept Bitcoin to following address: 33eedyLSbqawsLZWexYxioHzvYDSxZ84xY
Payment has to be done within 24 hours after the auction has ended.

I will give him a total of 72 hours reaction time (that will be in 33 1/2 hours) from the end of the auction to get in touch.
Otherwise I see the auction as canceled and will reschedule it in the next few days.

I guess that this move is fair, isn't it?
I'm happy to take suggestions on this, because I'm a little disappointed that this is happening right now at my first real auction. But terms are set up so that everything is clearly regulated.

Sorry to hear that. Happened to my acutions once or twice, too - it's really annoying.
Hope they pay up soon.

If not, I think a rescheduled auction is the way to go, yes. Let's hear what the OGs have to say about this, but giving it another go seems like the best option.

I would offer the item to sunnybwoy or re-auction the item. You could consider leaving negative trust for the winner that failed to come through on their commitment.

I say offer to next highest bidder. He would have been the winner if the other guy didnt bid it up and bailed.

I did have some interaction with garciaor2022 on the 10th, he bought and paid for some items - I sent a message as he paid for 6 when only 4 were available so I had to do a partial refund. I have not heard back and it looks as though he has not been on since then either.

If he defaults, it should fall to the next highest bid - my opinion.

I would be willing to take his offer thank you.

SunnyBwoy (underbidder) is willing to pay winning bid amount... looks like an easy call imo

I think it's not easily generalized. If there is a bidding battle and the 2nd highest bidder is very close to winning bid, I agree that it should default to them.
If it is like in this instance 0.03 then 0.04 - that's quite some room where other bids (from a 3rd bidding party) might have happened without the 0.04 bid.

That being said:

In this case 100% agreed.

The deadline expired a few hours ago and so far there has been no response at all. The user wasn't even online anymore.. Why do you bid at auctions and then don't check again?  ??? ???

New auction started here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5429247 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5429247)

100% agree. That's why I made my decision like this.
I also think that the bid of the final winner may have scared off some bidders because it was a significant jump. If the second highest bid had been close to it, I would have accepted it.

I would be willing to take his offer thank you.

This looks confusing at first. He offered me his final bid (0.03 BTC instead of the winning bid of 0.04) again.
