I wouldnt put my money on eth in any way. I guess that investors will still be able to make money with, but its potential for dobbling investments I believe it was lost forever. Now that eth abandoned POW and is now fully POS it will become less and less attractive, and soon it may be replaced by something better and decentralized.

Personally, I believe that buying ETH at the current price has a lot of profit potential. Despite several projects announced as "ETH-killer", Ethereum is still unthreatened. The creators of the project also try to eliminate its biggest disadvantages, such as huge fees. It may be too slow, but it does work. However, you need to realize that both ETH and the entire crypto market are now in a completely different place than 6-7 years ago and it will be very hard to get such profits as presented above.

I don't quite understand why you think that the transition from POW to POS is a mistake. I believe that in the face of the growing energy crisis in the world, this is a positive change for the entire project in the long run.

Buying ETH will always be my priority because its very consistent on being the top altcoins despite of many issues before and beside, its pretty cheap right now and you might be able to get more profit once the market recovers. The only problem with ETH is their network, its still expensive though and slower compare to other network, but despite of that issue it remains profitable over the past years and that could be enough reason for me to have some ETH.

"Past performance is no guarantee of future results."

The fact that you would be a millionaire by investing in ETH 7 years ago does not mean that you will be a millionaire after 7 years from today by investing now. Its possible that the best gains are already behind us. Its possible that we will shuffle between 500$ and 4000$ for another decade until recession is over. Nothing is certain, there are only propabilities. And past performance is not the best indicator.

True, it's no guarantee for us to make money in the future.

But the fact that it can still make investors money then for sure ETH is a good investment as compare to other altcoins right now. So I would say maybe putting like $500 is not that bad this year for ETH and then simply hold and see how it goes.

Instead of putting it on some altcoins and believed that it can make you instant million in the future or in the next bull run. The risk is less on ETH to collapse or go to 0 as compare to other altcoins, just saying.

"4 years ago: $84"

I still remember this time frame, me and my buddy discussing whether we should invest on Ethereum 4 years ago when it was in it's lowest price. I decided to invest just a couple of hundreds of dollars, him? he didn't believed.

So I made a sell off new the top price of around $4k and obviously I'm very happy with with I did.

In any case, I'm going to repeat it again, slowly accumulating ETH early this bear market and then continue to just HODL. I might not get the same results as far as profit, but for sure, I'm not going to lose either.

This is also a proof that ETH is a good investment for long term, so if you are going to ask me this I will not hesitate to buy up to the limit of my holdings. ETH is good for long term, I’ve been buying this since then and makes some profit already, I still trust ETH though so will continue to buy.

This historical price of Ethereum demonstrates its suitability for long-term investment objectives. Consider the profit those investors would be generating now if they had invested in it a few years ago(4 years below). Despite having alternative coins with lower gas fees, it's ranking on the coinmarketcap is still second despite the high gas fee. That's fantastic.

Ethereum would be wonderful for investing in. However, one of the reasons I find it tough to is due to the high gas fee. If not for that, I would have.

I think buying Ethereum at the current price will be a good choice, because it has now a low price due to the market conditions, once the market got back into its position then it can give then investors a profit. I'm buying it after it goes down a little bit and will hold till the next bull run to take out my profit because I belive in it.

Past isn't equal to the present. This also applies not only on Ethereum but on Bitcoin as well as other altcoins out there.

We've seen many altcoins went up reaching new ATH and then going down on a bear market and when the bull market comes again, it didn't even reach its past ATH. That does mean, what happened in the past might not happen in the present or in the future as well.

Even I didn't read that post that you've made OP, I will slowly accumulate Ethereum until to a point where I think is enough and will focus on Bitcoin more after that. On the other hand, though it seems that its transitioning into POS might affect its popularity as people want a decentralized coin like Bitcoin but nevertheless, it's a good long-term coin to hold still.

I remembered the price of ethereum 7 years ago but unfortunately, I didn't buy much ethereum and instead chose to buy shitcoin.

I really regret it but never mind, it happened and I'm still happy because I still have some ethereum that I bought at a low price yesterday ;D

If the price hasn't gone up high, I'm still considering buying more ethereum because I see the potential for ethereum to increase can still happen. Moreover, ethereum is still in the top position in the market.

Yes, Ethereum still remain my favorite coin I will continue investing in this bearish season not to regret in future when the price pump higher like the way it pump higher some years ago that made many traders to like Ethereum more than other coins in the market, which such miracle can still happen before the end of this year 2022. I think, Ethereum still remain second position among other cryptocurrencies which is part of the advantage that made many traders to invest in Ethereum in this bearish season so that they will smile when the bullish market arrive in the community.

Ethereum is a second biggest cryptocurrency, a biggest alternate cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency market dominance: BTC: 39.4%; ETH: 18.3% according to Coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/)

2 days ago, CFTC declared (again) that they consider ETH as a commodity, not as a stock.

CFTC declares Ether as a commodity again in court filing (https://cointelegraph.com/news/cftc-declares-ether-as-a-commodity-again-in-court-filing)

If ETH is not considered as a stock, it is very good for them, for ERC20 tokens, for cryptocurrency market generally.

In addition, it is good for Ripple XRP with their lawsuit against SEC too.

Apart from bitcoin, there will be no altcoins using POW anymore, simply because the current goals of the projects are scalability, fast transaction speeds, and as cheap gas fees as possible. People wouldn't care too much about privacy if it wasn't profitable, and if ETH was still POW, I think people would leave it sooner because of the troubles it got into. I firmly believe that ETH is still the king of altcoins, and no new altcoin can replace it, if investing in altcoins, then ETH is a perfect choice.

Looking at the statistics, there will surely be many who regret not starting investing in ETH from the start or when the price is still hundreds of dollars but it will be a question whether it will still provide big profits when it is done now because it is possible that changes to the ETH algorithm from POW to POS will give doubts to investors that the coin is still worth holding for the long term, but whatever the decision, everyone must pay attention to the risks that will be faced, I will still buy as long as this coin is still available on many major exchanges with high trading volume.

After Ethereum move from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake... I am not interested again for Ethereum.
Some my investment is on PoW algorithm coin.

Yes PoS is making the energy used more less. But there is the risk we get.
From decentralized going to centralized. Because mining with PoS algorithm more cheap, many people coming to mining.
If bad actor come they can have big portion in mining pool and make it more centralized.

No doubt that ETH prices plunged very badly this year. Ethereum's price seemed to be quite sturdy within the times whilst the crypto markets remained slow. Despite more than one bullish jumps, ETH fee keeps to remain under the bearish affect for a long time.

Also the ETH price began with a fresh decline as it faced a rejection below $1300 which flashed huge bearish signals.

Quote
Ethereum's Shanghai updated is scheduled for First half of 2023.
After Ethereum merge, Shanghai update is said to be the next major update.

Ethereum price is expected to surge anytime soon. Shanghai Hard fork is coming near, This particular could generate significant volatility that may set off a mass selling post the Shanghai Hard Fork!. As per analyst coinpedia the Ethereum price prediction for 2023 is $1866.79.

Investments in Ethereum (ETH) or other cryptocurrencies are investments that carry a high level of risk. The value of a cryptocurrency can fluctuate significantly over time, and there is no guarantee that its value will continue to rise. Therefore, before investing in ETH or any other cryptocurrency, it is worthwhile to consider carefully and do your research first. Be sure to understand the risks associated with such investments and decide whether they fit your risk profile.

We really can't take the possibility of happening in the future one hundred percent accurately. but I think ethereum is already very high compared to the first time they announced their ICO. But all this is still comparable to the development of Ethereum, arguably the project is very stable or can even grow more. I don't judge by their price but rather how they grow.

This is also true for bitcoin and not just altcoins, since there is no way to predict what will happen in the future. But if you want to predict the future, then look to the past because without the past, there would be no future.
In addition to relying on the past to evaluate a potential coin, we can also see what it is doing for the present and present, ethereum is also doing an excellent job. It is still the most interesting and potential altcoin after bitcoin, Bitcoin is the most worthy coin to invest in, then ETH will be in 2nd place.

If it is comparison among altcoins, then Ethereum indeed has the edge over others. Just check how many projects are using its chain which simply emploes how large its community of users. This also means that in every bullish trend, its large community will always back it up to be able to cope up with the green marks. Also making it more stable in a certain price range compared to other cryptocurrencies having huge movements to both upward and downward motions. So I also believe that this major coin is a must have to everyone's target asset in this industry.
You are using a ponzi analysis when you analyze the data gathered for Ethereum price. Ofc Ethereum pump is not unlimited while the current price is already pump huge percentage why the need to invest now if you knew that the coin is already overvalued?

'coz no one knows when will a market value would reach its peak. The market price is determined by demand alone so how come it would have a limit? Overvalued? Nothing's over valued as long as there's a demand on it. Also, there's no such thing as 'right' prices for anything in the market controlled by the demand, in any industry not only in cryptocurrency.

It's because ETH is the 2nd ranked crypto in the market that's why it's the one that's the most in terms of potential. But we don't know if it will be replaced soon when the other altcoins from ranked 2-10 have been replaced.

Considering that we are still in the bear market, I think it is good to buy Ethereum. Though Ethereum have moved from POW to POS, but by virtue of being second in the CMC list as well as many DeFi/smart contracts, I think Ethereum value will rather go up more once the bull market comes up. I still consider Ethereum as a strong investment in the crypto space. With low gas fees, I expect more players in the Ethereum blockchain space, which will also drive up the price in the near future.

I doubt eth would "die" but no reason it should be worth what it is either. Crypto is a volatile investment, everyone knows the risks going in, nobody complains when the price skyrockets upwards... If anything kills ethereum it will be the fact that it was 80% pre-mined

Ethereum is now the backbone of the Cryptocurrencies sector, although it has a lot of haters, it proved itself as the best project next to Bitcoin with 20% of the total Crypto marketcap without considering many big projects that run on top of it, as well as It was one of the highest performance assets in the last cycle. ETH has recently gone under big change which will make it deflationary asset, so the more it's used the more scarce it will be. For me, I hold ETH and will continue to add more as I believe in the future of this project and believe the current price drop is normal in Crypto.

I will buy and hold ethereum as long as I can spend my coins decentralized. Ethereum has many shortcomings, but the project has a good lobby in the US, Europe and other countries. CBDC and many serious projects are being launched in this ecosystem, so I don’t believe that this ecosystem can fail, unlike Solana.

But the same reasoning can be applied to bitcoin, and to any other potential cryptocurrency. But ethereum remains one of the best coins in this market, and after a recent update that has not yet been completed, this coin retains the ability to rapidly increase in price. Therefore, the investment attractiveness of this coin is huge. Considering the general current price drop in the ongoing bearish period, this is a very good case for investing in ethereum.

History doesn't need to repeat itself, but it's one of the main things we use to seek patterns in charts. However tokenomics of ETH have changed radically so those charts don't really apply.
Only thing we can count on is that people will keep building on ETH 2.0 and it will be used a lot. But game theory of fees vs incentives needs to be tested for a while so we can see what's the price that stakers are willing to sell with. But low cost in fees in the future probably decreases prices as people don't need it as much for fees to use smart contracts. transactions etc.

This is very useful information. ETH is one of only a small amount of alt coins that I still hodl in my portfolio.  I am not as Bullish on this coin as I use to be but I do still want to believe in its use and that when the "Bear Market" ends there will be investors collecting bags of it.

Ethereum is still second for marketcap with 148 billion dollars. I am confident in the ethereum blockchain and will continue to buy more coins for this cheap price to hope I recover my many losses.

In crypto market, past trends has no value or relationship with the future. Take bitcoin for example. Usually the pioneering cryptos enjoy a decent upward trend and the traders are usually ride through that. So I won't use such kind of statistics to buy ETH. However, I will buy ETH because it is a pioneer in smart contract functionality.

Price trend is not really a great indicator in the crypto market to take up investment decision. Rather we will have to look into the demand and trading volumes in various exchanges.

Well, we know how good is the trend of ETH, it always comes to follow the flow of Bitcoin and it grows continuously. Every bull season the price is also in a huge rally making people who invest in this coin certainly never get disappointed. If we are not buying during this time, we ended up having regrets in the future.

As the 2nd place of the entire crypto market, we can't simply ignore and reject it.
I have had Bitcoin and ETH held in my wallet for many years and I see a huge change in my portfolio during the bear season but never I think about it because it always recovers first during the bull market.

The same can be said about bitcoin, when everyone thinks it will pump up forever. Right now ETH is confidently in the second place by capitalization, but in the future it can become the first, because it has much more features than other cryptocurrencies. Although I don't believe yet that it will replace Bitcoin, I don't exclude that ETH will become more popular because of smart contracts and more implementation not only in business, but also in government system.

I will still buy more ETH but now, I am waiting for the next entry to enter the market.
With the bitcoin position now, it is hard to predict the altcoin, including ETH, so I need more patience.
ETH moves depend on bitcoin so I should check where bitcoin prices move and after bitcoin gets another correction, that will be a good time to buy more ETH.
ETH can go lower than the price now, especially when BTC is down more.

You are using a ponzi analysis when you analyze the data gathered for Ethereum price. Ofc Ethereum pump is not unlimited while the current price is already pump huge percentage why the need to invest now if you knew that the coin is already overvalued?

This is the common mistake by newbie assuming the pump will continue despite the price is already discovered compared to the early year. Institutional investors is already in so where will the fresh money will come from?

To be fair, it could happen, and I wouldn't be surprised if it did because the utility that Ethereum brings is so great. I don't remember the exact time, but in the past, there was a time when ETH took the lead and pushed bitcoin to 2nd place. Although that did not last long, it shows that the potential of eth is huge, no altcoin has yet. Bitcoin won't stand still to let ETH overtake, but I don't rule it out.

The thing I realized is that the longer the crypto in the market the price is also higher and the harder it is to grow. Therefore, ethereum is very difficult to develop in the future because of the high competition and high prices.

From my point of view and belief, it seems difficult to trust Ethereum now, since it was merged a lot has changed, and I don't think it helped ETH in my opinion.

Because it used to be POW, but when there was a merger from POW and it became POS, many investors had doubts about this matter, as if what happened in the community here in cryptocurrency is from decentralized to centralized this. Where other investors are hesitant, this is the truth. maybe I will invest the right amount, not too big or too small.

From a cycle time frame we should have atleast seen the bottom by now (880) from historical cycle price bottom should be between (480-750) there's also a lot of exterior global economics that can bring us down there, but we've been holding strong about 1k. Gotta make a plan for yourself, I'm comfortable investing here and will DCA with disposable income as low as we go, even if it's 250.

If the $480-$750 price range is a possible bottom, what price will the next hype be?
In the long term, investing is not a mistake even now, but waiting for 100x on this coin is pointless. But this ecosystem is already used by thousands of companies and it works without failures.

Ethereum as for me is still good for long-term investment. I would prefer buying it and holding it because as we could see, it has shown good potential through the years. Even if it's not the bottom price, the current value is still good to buy because we'll still gain a promising profit when the market recovers again. Despite the issues about ETH, I believe that it's still a profitable coin.

There are some coins you would buy even if it means going against history and Ethereum is one of those coins. I am not a fan or a holder of any Altcoin.

I think Ethereum is one of the Altcoin I can throw my support for it’s been next to Bitcoin and apart from it having high gas fee on it network it’s a top coin and many other network are built by mimicking Ethereum network.

This is true. We may never know what will happen next because of this POS update. So far SEC hasn't yet done something because they also see they couldn't stop crypto even if they could come up with a regulation.

The POS however can be a factor that might hold its price down because the validators can just dump whatever they get every time. This will result in ETH being the same as EOS or Cardano.

whatever happens and under any circumstances I always put a small amount of my money in ethereum.
although I only fully believe in bitcoin, but I consider ethereum to be the queen of bitcoin and for me ethereum deserves to be my second place of investment.
maybe some people have different thoughts on ethereum after leaving POW but I still remain loyal to my two coins namely bitcoin and ethereum.
Another reason I still trust ethereum is because ethereum is still the king of all altcoins whose price is still dependent on bitcoin. so every time bitcoin goes up in price, ethereum will also go up following bitcoin.
to me something that happened to ethereum in the past is just a story that won't affect anything in the future. so i would never hesitate to put a few dollars in ethereum.

Perhaps, I was buying already ETH until today because I see how tremendous and was growing.
Maybe some people never see its importance due to its high transaction fee compared to other coins but generally, it is one of the most famous coins in the market due to its function in blockchain technology.

I wouldnt put my money on eth in any way. I guess that investors will still be able to make money with, but its potential for dobbling investments I believe it was lost forever. Now that eth abandoned POW and is now fully POS it will become less and less attractive, and soon it may be replaced by something better and decentralized.

I also abandoned the idea of investing in ETH way back years ago when its gas fee surged.  Now that it implements POS, I don't regret my decision way back then and still won invest in ETH.  I would rather invest my money in new projects that have potential than invest in this one.  At least with new potential projects it is easier to get 10x to 100x profit if we get in and exit at the right time.

Honestly, Ethereum becomes one of my favorite altcoins that I must have. Although this is also risky, I will still put few of my money here besides Bitcoin. Bitcoin of course becomes my first target to add more for the investment long term. But, ETH is also one altcoin that I trust, although not 100% because everything may happen in the future. I believe that Ethereum still has a big chance to rise up again and pass the ATH again next in the bullish era. I really expect for the condition, Hopefully, no big problems will be in Ethereum, and becomes like Luna a or FTX.

I am not saying ETH is not good, but if I was moved to buy coins after every single thing I read about it, I would have bought so many coins by now that I would have been regretting. If you must invest in a coin, buy it because of real research that you have invested time in doing, not just one positive prediction about it that you heard or read. You should very much avoid buying coins with emotions, It is not advisable because emotions are sometimes temporary and can fail you.

I have to say ETH has not changed as much as I would like it to change, I know that OP made it clear that if you invested long time ago then you would have made a good amount of profit, specially considering the top price you could have sold a year ago, but the reality is that we have seen a lot of coins that went up a lot more during the same period.

The only downside it has is the fact that most of the money went to miners, and not enough went to traders. It is second ranked so we all know how big it is, but how did it grow so much while still being outpaced by other coins that went up even more in percentage? That is mainly the miners issue, and glad we are at staking stage now because of it.

To what coins you are referring to that pumped a lot in terms of percentage? Shitcoins and meme coins? I think that's because they are lighter or newer than ETH but the risk on them is also huge. Those who earn big are lucky while the rest that pick up a wrong coin are also losing big time.

The fees in ETH last time are so expensive but I think most that are affected are the people who actively trade erc20 based coins or tokens while if you are only a hodler and have only sold one time in the bull run then the fees are not really a big deal since your earning are also good enough. Maybe that is also the reason on why ETH have move to proof of stake.

Definitely when people invested on ATH then that's why more bad mindset about ETH occurs and it's really difficult for ETH to back to at its ATH after several bad event happen in 2022. Hopefully things are going back in 2023 next year if no bad stuff happens at later date. I would buy more ETH if the condition "meets" my criteria so I can invest it with money that I can afford to lose. Nothing to shame about that.

Having ETH is good, but I wouldn't buy more. Using it to make an investment, yes, I have done that many times and I'm sure it will be accepted more often by many projects in the future. Or also for the Training Paris ***/ETH on exchanges. The increase of ETH's from 2015 to now look so good, but so do many other coins.

I stopped supporting ETH and not going to buy any amount no matter how small of it since the moment it went to PoS from PoW which was from mineable to non mineable. What I agree in the first post of this thread is that ETH was once 1.01 and right now we have two alternatives that are battling to get ETH place,ETHW a project by some anonymous miners and ETF-EthereumFair another project claiming to go and make use of the old ETH chain and also to keep being mineable.

That is what I do now since I missed the boat in 2016 when ETH was really low in price and easy to mine,I am mining these two coins now and hope for a similar future in price to the original ETH,I know I am going to be a rich man if history repeats itself with these coins.

Well its a bad investment if you only put it on one place like putting it only on eth. And I don't like to buy it more either since ideally would like to split it up on different one since we could earn up more with that once the effect of bull run will happen.

There are chances that this 2023 wen can get things back to its past price level but its just a chance so we should invest only the amount we can afford to lose on this so that we will not go depressed if our expectation will not meet.

very tested and indeed until now its position will only be below bitcoin, and it seems that it will be difficult for other coins to replace ethereum's current position.
Regarding growth slowing down, it seems that it's not just Ethereum, but all coins can't move quickly, because indeed the indicator for growth is that bitcoin is sinking, so all coins are experiencing that too.
but when the halving period comes, it is certain that everything will recover and start moving towards improvement, it just takes time for that.
I think investing in ethereum will be the same as bitcoin, there will always be a decline and will improve again, so you don't need to worry when you buy it, it will definitely be higher than when you bought it, it just takes time and patience to be able to wait until it is higher than when buy.

I don't quite understand why you think that the transition from POW to POS is a mistake. I believe that in the face of the growing energy crisis in the world, this is a positive change for the entire project in the long run.

ETH's move from POW to POS has absolutely nothing to do with the current energy crisis situation. The upgrade plan of ETH was launched 4 years ago, and after many delays, it was implemented the last year. Many people are skeptical of ETH as it becomes more and more centralized when moving to POS, but it is in ETH's favor. In addition to reducing gas fees, which is the biggest headache for ETH, the upgrade is extremely important for ETH in future block expansion. For ETH, I consider this a desirable upgrade, Vitalik Buterin knows what he is doing best for ETH. It is too early to conclude that ETH is not worth investing in when it is POS, keep in mind that many altcoins still use POW but they are all useless, unable to compete with ETH. If you need a decentralized coin, bitcoin is enough.

I Agree with you, Of course they have made countless of consideration what might happened if they transitioned into POS but at the end they have considered changing from POW to POS given that POW is hindering them and and also their users to make a progression to the project. Gas fees are number one problem with ETH and I'm sure when market gets a lot of traffic, Users are suffering from these ridiculous gas prices that we all consider when making a transaction. There are pros and cons on transitioning to POS and one of them is slowly becoming centralize. But I believe that majority users like gas prices low compared to being decentralized. It's my opinion and please don't compare this token to other coins that has cheap gas prices. ETH has it's own concept behind it.

They really had some successful developments and updates if you compared their services and features from the past and it would be good for them to continue giving their customers and investors some reasons to continue supporting their project because as we are talking about this, there are lots of project out there that are being developed to compete with them and when they slacked to do the right thing for Ethereum in the future, you will see them slowly getting knockoff from the crypto market like any other altcoins in the past.

one year ago most of the cryptos were at the highest price or ATH, so is there anyone who buys at that price with the aim of long term investment? even though we all know that buying at high prices has a much higher risk. if that really happens there is no other choice but to hold until the crypto market returns to the bullish phase.

Ethereum, next to Bitcoin, will always be worth buying and wprth investing for a long term holding. It's just affected by the economic crisis but it will still recover as the market recovers soon.

But on the other hand I am also satisfied with what I have in ETH because I still have some which I think will be very good if kept in storage for some time especially with the current conditions I have no intention of selling this coin.

As per the data, the only case where you had been in loss by investing in ETH will be when you invested 1 year ago. Even that be neglected if you have strong hands and can hold for some more time for prices to rise again.
Whatever happens and whatever the market conditions I will continue to buy and hold ETH.
There are 2 crypto coins that I trust and believe in the most, namely Bitcoin and ETH.
In my opinion, ETH is the 2nd coin after Bitcoin, which has the most potential in the future to be able to take large profits and is worthy of being made into a long-term investment.
So it's no wonder that there are still many ETH enthusiasts and holders to this day.

Indeed, ETH is a very popular and liquid coin. This is all built on its former greatness, when it was less censored and worked on the PoW algorithm. Now, after the merger, it is extremely difficult to evaluate the new consensus and its success among holders. In addition, ETH still hasn't got rid of the simply monstrous, compared to its competitors, commissions for token trasfer and swap.

Whatever happens and whatever the market conditions I will continue to buy and hold ETH.
There are 2 crypto coins that I trust and believe in the most, namely Bitcoin and ETH.

Most projects are built on ETH chain, so I think it will remain the top 2 of crypto market. That is why Ethereum is so powerful: it proportionates many developers to work their projects and create their useless speculative altcoins for pump and dump schemes. And although there are many alternatives of chains for developers to work, there isn't a clear, solid and widely adopted one to replace ETH, that is the problem.

No I won't. I prefer Bitcoin when I see calculations like this.

ETH can reach new highs but it's not guaranteed at all.

   - Right now Ethereum is not my priority to hold long-term, although I know it is one of the top altcoins right now in the crypto space. But if I had known this in 2017, I probably would have bought Ethereum around this time.

Also for me because I don't like what ETH has done now with its transformation from POW to POS, it seems to me that it has become centralized rather than decentralized, but this is just my opinion and understanding about this thing.
No one knows the future, if I knew bitcoin was as successful as it is today, I wouldn't have sold it in 2014.
It is an interesting thing in investment, we should not regret but look for new opportunities, when opportunities come, we will take them or continue to ignore them, that's up to us to decide.

If ETH does not move to POS, it will not be able to solve the backlog issues and will lose more users. I also don't like centralization because we hate the centralization of banks, so we invest in bitcoin, and crypto. But I support ETH's decision, POS helps it deal with high gas fees and scalability. I don't want to pay tens of dollars, hundreds of dollars, for every ETH transaction.

Yes, that means lesser at buying it or not at all. Most Ethereum holders now will prefer to just HODL than to pile more without any assurance that it can go at a new ATH. I prefer that way too and would rather buy Bitcoin for now. It's in a good low where a buying spree can happen anytime that would increase the demand.
As for altcoin choices, I am just looking at other gems but I cannot see one yet that is worth buying. Perhaps when this stagnant market ends we will some new breakthroughs.

I wouldnt put my money on eth in any way. I guess that investors will still be able to make money with, but its potential for dobbling investments I believe it was lost forever. Now that eth abandoned POW and is now fully POS it will become less and less attractive, and soon it may be replaced by something better and decentralized.

I will give up ETH if it can't solve the problem of high gas fees because we have a lot of altcoins with cheap gas fees and faster transaction speeds than ETH. ETH has lost its decentralization, but in return it solves a lot of problems, so it can be said that this sacrifice is worth it. We cannot claim absolute perfection with ETH.

Regarding investment, ETH is becoming more potential when moving to POS, the supply of ETH is constantly being burned thanks to the new mechanism. In the long run, ETH will also become scarce, so a price increase is almost certain once the demand is high while the supply decreases.

Very nice. At least you have chosen to buy bitcoin over ethereum and it is a good choice for you.

But some people might still want to increase their ethereum amount and still hope that the price of ethereum can go down again. But I'll still be looking to buy some ethereum in addition to focusing on bitcoin. We all have choices and know what is best for us, so we must try to get it.

As per the data, the only case where you had been in loss by investing in ETH will be when you invested 1 year ago. Even that be neglected if you have strong hands and can hold for some more time for prices to rise again.
This is one of many reasons why I tend to buy Ethereum compared to other altcoins out there. Ethereum already proved it over the years since Ethereum started.
For me, before the year 2024 will start, I can guarantee that I already started to accumulate Ethereum.

Username checks out :p

Both are good, just that one's the OG and the other's an ecosystem for different apps and deployments.
