Title: What's highest amount you have earned from altcoin bounty?
Post by: libert19 on December 22, 2022, 06:42:38 AM
Altcoin bounties are famous for being useless. However, there tends to be gems every once in a while, have you come across such any?

For me and from my memory of 5 years of alt bounties these three take the cake,

Jrt: Got 180k tokens of it with 100 eth value at one point of time, that would be ~$500k at ath, and still ~$100,000 eth.

Aave: Back then 'lend'. Had just got 87 tokens, sold it on etherdelta for pennies. However it reached $660 ath, that would be 57k.

Gold - stablecoin bounty, was part of it for 41 months. Highest payrate being $300/month. This might not be much, but I'd like to include it just because how consistent it turned out to be.

What are yours?

Wow thats amazing amount did you ever cashed out those at that value? Or just missed to sell it at that time?

Me too I had some lend but sold it out while still very cheap. One mistake I guess. But in memory I think got some tokens from a project that Ibsold for 0.4 btc and probably biggest just forgot the name. While other tokens are also good in amount and value.

If only hold at peak those precious airdrop from uniswap and others might have a good savings.

Zero, since the beginning I did not participate in any campaign in altcoins and therefore did not achieve any return from it.

I have heard some stories about profits amounting to a few thousand, but I somehow see that it is a risk where you do the work and wish success for the project, in order to get a good return.
Are you sure of these amounts?

When talking about bounties prize then the right time to sell the result will also determine whether it will get bigger or become ashes, I forgot the name of the coin but remember If selling when the price touches ATH will earn 48 BTC unfortunately don't have the patience to wait that time, what really pays off the big one is from XRB the result of solving the captcha is getting around 0.5 BTC because patient enough to keep it and sell when the price is high enough the rest there are many who give around $ 1,000 to $ 5,000, but the golden age is over

Wow, that's a lot that you've earned with bounties. How I wish that I'd earned that much too during the peak of ICOs and projects but I didn't earn that much.
I can't remember if there's an airdrop that I've earned a lot since I don't usually participant in it. I regret that I didn't even took time to join a lot of it when they're all giving free money.

Much lesser than you OP. Most of bounties i joined ended like dead token. But there is 1 coin i still remember until now, it's COBINHOOD. When i first get it, it was traded $1 ATH, i could earned $17,000 but i greedy and wait, and finally ended up nothing as i didn't sell and now it hasn't any value at all.

Aave: Back then 'lend'. Had just got 87 tokens, sold it on etherdelta for pennies. However it reached $660 ath, that would be 57k.

It was Ethlend, though. Rebranded to Aave and reduced their supply.

I think OP cashed out Jrt when its total $100k, but sold Ethlend on cheap price (since he said sold it for pennies), so he didn't get those $57k

Are you sure of these amounts?

Yes 100%, however I do not imply I got these amounts. Even with jrt I ended up with much less as I sold later.

Wow thats amazing amount did you ever cashed out those at that value? Or just missed to sell it at that time?

It's alright, it's more regret when you forget to sell at peak despite being aware of it (I got literally freezed with jrt that I did nothing) rather than not having at all.

Alts bounties are both useless and profitable if you are able to get into a good project and also hold to sell at the right time. I have also had my fair share of good alts bounties that end up bringing good rewards only that i did not exercise patience enough to sell at the right time.
Truth is, if you are lucky to participate in a good alts bounty, it surpasses what you will ever get in a non-alts bounty for a decade. But such bounties are few.  :)

I am following 1 altcoin campaign. but it doesn't give much bigger than what I'm working with. I know not all altcoin campaigns end badly. as you follow, they pay you consistently.
but I still believe, now more altcoin campaigns don't pay properly. maybe now more people are working on airdrops than altcoin campaigns which have quite a long campaign duration.

The problem with altcoin bounties indeed. You need to hope for that project to succeed to maximize the bounty rewards. Its still a gamble actually and that is a choice of hunters. Unlike to regular btc paid campaign which is fixed. Altcoins can sometime have overwhelming rewards, and honestly its luck if you did choose a good campaign or project.

Way back 2018 or 2017 I've earned big time from Eidoo campaign; it happened that their token's market value and their project in general succeeded after their public sale. Also, payments were done before using projects' token. Kind of missing those days wherein payouts from signature campaigns could really allow an individual to make a living. At the present only high rank members of this forum or community qualifies for the strict requirements of new projects. But I did not find it alarming 'coz fortunately I am able to comply with those things. But still grateful for projects at the present which chose to continue with their projects inspite of what happened or what could happen to this industry.

You never invested any money why are you guys complaining that you sold too soon? All you did is dedicate your time to spread the news about the project, I will never complain if I get paid from promoting a project.

Yeah, I've been in that the same situation and problematic with it before. But as soon as I've seen that I'm in profit at any price, peak or not, I'm not forgetting to start selling.
But that's just too satisfying to see that you've made a lot with such bounties and I am sure that there are other folks that also made a lot from other bounties that they've joined but were just lowkey not to discuss it.

I too have been in a lot of bad bounties and airdrops, but a few good ones I remember are:

- STORM: IIRC I got 0.4 BTC worth of tokens. Like most of you I didn't put it to the right use though.  ;D
- Waves: I think I got about 500-600 waves. Could have been worth $36K at ATH years later, but I didn't hodl much.

Those were the days...

Anyways, are bounties even worth anything these days?  ???

MONACO (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924985.0) : My best bounty reward so far. This bounty was first announced in 2017 when ICO and bounty campaigns was really fresh and the projects were actually made it to the final products, although they didn't survive until this date. But still for bounty reward itself, it was really impressive on that date.

LUNYR (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1819566.0) : The second one is LUNYR. When ERC-20 was really fresh and the price of that bounty rewards when they hit exchange was really great and compared to todays bounties. Even 10 of nowadays bounties doesn't even that much compared to this bounty, those bounties were really insane.

I have several highest amount reward from altcoin bounties during 2016 to 2020 until joining with signature service bounty have exact payment weekly amount. During 2016 joined many altcoin bounties and ever earned reward above $3,000 from HEX signature campaign, I am little disappointed because selling coins at lower price after one years later price pump drastically.

For highest altcoin bounty reward earned from Power Ladger bounty campaign, earn more than 1 BTC and current price about $12,000 and this project still exist until right now but price have going dump. Nowadays seems impossible to earn reward above $500 from altcoin bounty because many campaign have limit budget for bounty participants under $4,000 until $10,000.

I participated in many bounty campaigns during the previous years but I didn't have any luck like the OP, I only got through my participation in 2 bounties that were managed by Hhampuz and irfan_pak10 from $400 to $1000 in altcoins of the projects and after that, I worked in different Bounties, their budget was not great, and the hunters were in the thousands, and through my work, for several weeks I got less than 20 dollars, so I lost hope in bounty work in general. I know that there have been good bounties and gems since 2017, but you will be very lucky in these years to find and work in one of them because there are often a lot of scam bounties whose team stops paying and there are bounties that pay a few dollars in the end.

I have also been in a few alts that were great but just that I didn't take advantage of them at the time I should have. And from the previous post above, I can see I am not the only one who also misses the opportunity to sell their alts rewards at peak.
I can agree that most alts campaigns are worthless but if you manage to stumble across the one that is good, you will be handsomely rewarded if you are able to sell at ath.

-
ETHlend which changed to Aave and it reminds me of regrets from a few years ago.
I don't follow too many bounties on this forum but I did participate in the ETHlend bounty at that time and had a large amount if swapped to Aave I had around 108 Aave. but stupid me back then i was selling on etherdelta just like you when it was a penny. my mistake was to sell too fast last time and missed the chance to raise around $71k.
but from my disappointment I was relieved by the NFT that I got from the bounty back in 2017 and the price was very high. curiocard is that NFT that makes me feel big return for free and for me it is big return for my bounty.

there were plenty of campaigns that could give such tremendous rewards back then even though there were many times when I missed the opportunity to make huge profit just because I were too greedy but surely earning $1k was a piece of cake, right now in earning that much money you should be diligent enough to know the right moment in selling your bounty rewards so that you can get most out of your coins and get huge reward at the end of your campaign.

I have ever participated in capacity bounty which has given me 50eth. That reminds me with the golden time of bounty which was always giving so many profits. I guess that those who have been participating in lend/aave bounty must be lucky people in this forum. They were able getting millions of dollars if they were selling at the peak price from bounty. That will not make you need to hardwork. The golden time for bounty will always come when the market become bullish.

Those altcoins where I participated in their bounty campaigns are not existing anymore, but my highest earning on one altcoin was $4000 and this is back in 2017 when its great to be part of the community what I really remember and stuck to my mind is a a coin that called Nano now where members will just claim on their airdrop doing captcha it peaked to $33.69 -98.0%
Jan 02, 2018 (almost 5 years) 5 years ago and you can claim up to 200 to 500 of this coin on their airdrop, many got rich on this altcoin.

Rewards on bounty hunting are greatly reduced lots of my friends stopped doing bounty because they cannot keep up anymore, there were times that they did bounty hunting for several months and those coins never arrive in their wallet and if they arrive all of it have no value in the market.

I haven't made anything from bounty campaign the only reason being that I haven't participated in any of them. I think it's better to be part of a signature campaign (even if it pays you in altcoins) than to part of Twitter or other social media campaign at least the signature pays you better than social media campaign.
Although I have made a couple of dollars from airdrop back then I was really active in airdrops and the highest I've made from a single airdrop was $200. But right now I rarely participate in it because they give you tokens that will never get listed.

I can't recall and I am lazy browsing my history, but I am sure I had earned a decent amount of money from bounty programs.  I also earned a good amount of money from airdrops in my early years here at Bitcointalk.

Indeed those are the days, almost every single coin and project released got hyped during those days.  Even a non-sense project gets traction.  But well, it is worth remembering the golden days of bounty hunting.

The highest amount that I have earned from two bounty campaign is around $400, each of the campaigns was worth $200 (approx.). I was able to earn within the range of $10 - 40 from a couple of campaigns, the rest were less than $10. There has been many scam projects as well as very low budget campaigns in recent times, making it difficult for hunters to earn something worthwhile. Some of the projects that paid with the project altcoin are waiting for the bull market to list the token/coin. IMO, it has been tough to earn from bounty hunting in recent times, thoughtless of earning something substantial. Only very few campaigns pay hunters currently.

What's do you expect when up to 800 hunters are enrolled in a Twitter campaign that wants to pay $2000? And the worst part is that the campaign might even run for up 8 months and at the end hunters get just few pennies.
Sometimes I do check the spreadsheet of some campaign and I do see hunters earnings there was one campaign where hunters earnings were not up to $1 and the duration of the campaign was 4 weeks.

The highest I have ever made was 30 dollars. Unfortunate situation because I have applied to plenty back in the day and I would rather have all of them worth something today but unfortunately they did not.

The highest I could have made was 700, still not enough if you ask me since it was a one time deal and I have worked for bounties for years, it is not a sustainable income model at all, but I didn't sell it and kept it, I keep almost all of them, and that is why none of them really worths something. The best thing we could do right now would be just to ignore them, because they do not really give you any profit at all, hence why I try to avoid them as much as possible.

Not good ideas when joining with social media campaign from Twitter, Facebook until right now launching Discord social media campaign, waste your time only. Almost social media campaign not limited with participant joined, each social media campaign usually with twitter reach above 1,000 participants, budget allocated under $2,000 and each participants have earn only $2 for social campaign joining and have to submit their weekly report.

I don't know about BM ideas with social media campaign, how possibility reward under $2 and have some social media bounties campaign earn under $1 for joining from four until seven weeks.

Well first of all i have to say congrats OP as you have seem to hit the jackpot with your JRT-bounty. Sadly i was not so lucky with my altcoin-bounties. The best ones that i were part of where the Bounty of DeepOnion back in 2017 and 2018 but of course i did not sell back in January of 2018 when my bag from the bounty was worth around 130k$ or so. I held on those tokens for a few more years then i sold them for around 3000$ last year or so. That is still a nice amount of money but of course just a fraction of what would have been possible.
I also took part in the bounty of Radix for a few weeks and got like 18k coins from it. Those are worth only around 630 $ at the moment, but 1 year ago they were worth 11k, of course i did not sell again.
Nowadays it is almost impossible to get a good altcoin-bounty in my opinion. The "good" projects don't really need to do a bounty and therefore the only thing you get are bounties from stupid meme-coins that will be dead in 2 weeks anyway.

May be you worked in hundreds of bounty campaigns otherwise it’s quiet difficult to earn good amount of money from the bounties, because a lot of participants also very low allocation in every single bounty campaign. I think bounty era ended from 2017, and which time will never come back, so even i didn’t expect good time will be come in the future.

Bounty payment is not guaranteed in most cases and hunters are treated with low respect since most of the project team already know how desperate bounty hunters have become lately, in the past project team used to allocate a good percentage of their token supply to bounty payment and will hire a reputable manager to escrow the payment to and after the bounty period, the manager will make bounty payment which is some form of bounty token distribution guaranty.
But whether the token will get listed on an exchange or not is left for the team to decide and those who are lucky get listed on an exchange and bounty hunters will dump their token as soon as it gets listed, but lately, that has changed and bounty section is only filled with bounty weekly reports without and a notable project that has reward bounty hunter effectively.
I have heard stories of some good bounties back in 2017 when I was not here but since I join the forum, I have never participated in any of them because I see it as a waste of time working for several weeks for a few penny suck like hell.

There will be some good bounties again but it's unsure how exactly they're going to be. But one thing that is for sure, majority of the bounties these days are not profitable.

Those are the golden era for bounties though until now some projects are being so generous and giving out a lot of bounties to every participants. I remember earning around $100/month before, and that could be my biggest profit from bounty aside from participating on a signature campaign. Signature campaign now are more stable, you’re lucky if you can get to participate on a long paying campaign.

usually good bounties season coming alongside with bullrun of alts or you can say the altcoin season, since at that time most of the coins will have really nice valuation and therefore the allocated rewards for the bounty participants will definitely increase in value, i'm sure in the future things will be the same like before when in bullrun, there gonna be so many projects that is generous in giving the promised rewards mainly because the rise in value.
