Well...  I like as dem they loud as to our hearing and I know say na naija we dey and there's still going to be defaulters and we know say na for northern part of naija na im this underage voters registration dey common, but INEC go fit really persecute this persons? Also, INEC say dem get 93.5 registered voters and dem go publish the list on 16 January before the election go start... Wetin una think concerning making the registered voters list public?

This one go dey hard to carry out ooo...  As most of the underage voters wey be Almajiri with no parent, wey dey street dey beg with plates... how dem want take arrest the parent? Abi dem just dey talk am so that parents and guardians go advise their wards?

To me how deh go talk say any underage voter they go arrest am how they go take arrest like some villages.
These wey election don deh come na him INEC deh come with new New rules and regulations some people wey no get parent nko or some people wey no dey vote for there area make they just forget about that underage of something make they allowed everybody to vote for there choice..

Oga Brainboss you don raise valid suggestions wey really make sense. The idea make voters get some kind of forms from banks or BVN print out to be eligible to register for the INEC election, in my own opinion e good but e go reduce the numbers of voters because no be everybody wey get bank accounts for this country. The wahala of underage voting starts from the registration of underage voters, na from there INEC suppose begin tackle the matter, no be only on election day them suppose they find underage voters to arrest, them suppose don issue this warning to both 'prospective' underage voters and to their officials even before registration of PVC's start.

My question firstly na, who registered this underage voters? No be still INEC officials do the registration?
Secondly, I think before persons cast their vote the voting officers should impartially compare the card information with the person in possession of it to first confirm the age before allowing such a person or persons cast their vote. Unless the place where such election is meant to hold don't mind the turnout or voters profile, then useful pre-voting screening like this should be ignored.

Arresting underaged voters won't really stop irregularities in the fourth coming election but it will arrest the situation to an extent, there are other set of individuals who specialises in electoral irregularities, such as Thugs, our politicians, some Inec staffs too, and so on, all this people should be fished out together with the underaged voters and be rested so elections will be free and fair .
Even the government in some states still participate in electoral irregularities and as such the government should first make themselves an example for the rest of us to follow as no one is above the love.

It's just all palter palter for the INEC commissioner to have made those threats that have been neglected for so long, a rule that is even a Nome to the northernants. There are villages where this rule cannot be taken seriously, except in some cities. Normally, underage 🔞 voting is a tabu according to the constitution, but the House has taken it as a norm in its place and this are still same people trying to introduce underage voting.

Toward making the registered voters public, I don't think is going to cause any harm, so let's see if they keep to their words in 6 days time from today (16/01/2023).

I com dey hear sae, bayelsa State command of police Patrol team arrested won Cotonou minor of 12 years nd di boy dey speak only Cotonou , so dem come carry di boy go to do Cotonou community in di state and when dem translate di boy language, he said it was on Fulani man that brought down there to vote for the forthcoming election in Nigeria. I just get the feeling say this time election go dey different. The young nigerians don tire for everything as it can be seen in the ENDSARS protest. For the first time we saw Nigerians irrespective of our ethnic and religious divide came together and brought down the country to a standstill. I don't know how many of you watched the ENDSARS video at Lekki tow gate but I saw young Nigerians like myself telling the security operatives to shoot that they are not moving an inch when they are being shot at, and one of them even in his dying breath was singing the national anthem. Omo... this gave me goosebumps. I know some bullion van politicians will try to hijack the election but I just have this feeling that we are going to get it right this time.

This is very laughable. Is it now that they realized or know about the underage voting. It is a welcome development,if really the officers are going to act on the directive that are been given to them and not to be compromized by the political, because bribe and corruption have become the order of the day,it is against the law in Nigeria for underage to vote in an election,so I support the INEC official to stand on their grand against the underage voting and persecute whom ever that was cought in such act without no mercy,so as to give us free,fair and credible election come 2023,so I urge The INEC chairman and all the working committee to come together to prove to the world that Nigeria can be better again..

That would have been better. But, how would they be punished? I think parents too should be held responsible for their children doings. Parents are supposed to watch over their children not to engage in underage voting.

That law is not realistic because you have already called them underage which simply means the law cannot really hold them, inec should flush such underage registered voters out of there database not by issuing a may threat they cannot implement.
