Title: age 47 is it too late or not to invest in bitcoin.?
Post by: Solokan on January 05, 2023, 01:12:18 PM
I'm 47 years old, and I see and hear a lot of young people talking about bitcoin, and when I asked 2 young people and I asked, can I be the same age as me to invest in bitcoin? and the young people answered, 1 of them said they could, and the other said no, and the people who answered no, they explained the reason, namely because I was old, whereas if investing in bitcoin it had to be long term.
and the other young man gave me a hint, namely for me to join this forum to ask about me, who is old, is it worth investing in bitcoin or not?

but I personally will still invest in bitcoin because in my opinion there will be no loss in investing in bitcoin even in the long term, that is because I have children, even if I may have died I think there will be no loss, because I will tell my children when I invest in bitcoin .

and I will inherit bitcoin to my kid if I die first.

I want to ask what do all my friends think about this problem?

You're only two years older than the ceo and founder of the largest crypto exchange (who started it in 2017) iirc, what makes you think you're old?

A lot of investors in crypto average around your age. A lot of people on this forum seem to be in their 30s and 40s too.

You need a bit of an ability to learn, the rest can be self taught. I'd suggest learning well before you start investing a lot though - the technology can be unforgiving. If you give it 6 months or something to leaen how things work you'll likely be taking less risks and making more informed choices about whether an investment is a good idea and something you can manage well.

to ask about me, who is old, is it worth investing in bitcoin or not?

Just think like this: 14 years (and a few days) ago there was no bitcoin. Now it worth a lot.
And think farther: do you expect to live more 5-10 years at least? I really think so.
This being said I see no good reason you would not invest in Bitcoin. Of course, make sure you invest only money you afford to lose or at least to keep locked in bitcoin for long. And please invest if you think so, not because of strangers' advises over internet.

Plus, if you can leave it to your children, even better.

Make sure you set up correctly your wallet, hacks, scams and phishing are real. Easiest is to buy a hardware wallet and keep your coins there (and make sure the backup seed is always stored offline in multiple copies).

Of course the earlier the better, not just for bitcoin investment, traditional markets like stocks advises young people to invest early. However, in bitcoin, it's different because for one the market is very volatile, and we have this so called cycle, so in just a matter of 4 years you could get x amount of your investments if you get in at the right time, just like what we have today, in a bear market accumulate and wait  till the next bull run in 2024-2025.

As for inheritance, this article is a good read: https://news.bitcoin.com/death-bitcoin-digital-inheritance/

In my opinion, 47 is not too old, of course you can still invest in bitcoin. and your decision to keep investing in bitcoin is the right decision. and if you want to pass on a bitcoin inheritance to your child, if you have passed away that is a good thing.

Can you answer a rather strange question? Do you know how long your young colleagues, who told you that you are already too old for Bitcoin, will live? Do they realize that none of us know what will happen tomorrow? So calm these self-confident young men; you may outlive them all. Therefore, boldly invest and do not think about the timing. Bitcoin was created for everyone, and by learning it, you only develop, further improving your brain and body.
In addition, at your age, there are already more opportunities, which cannot be said about young people; there is already accumulated capital, which can many times exceed what young people have. Thus, your output from holding bitcoin will also be greater; you just need to wait for the appointed hour.

no problem with age. the most important thing is that you know how it works from your buy and store Bitcoin. moreover, you have another goal, save your Bitcoin for your child.
There's nothing wrong with age, the only thing is you have to tell your child how to access your Bitcoin wallet. without a seed or a key, what you plan to do can simply disappear when your child or wife doesn't know anything.
I hope you are given a long life, so you can enjoy your Bitcoin with your family.

You're still young at 47 to do anything and invest in anything, especially Bitcoin, please age is just a number age is the least issue when it comes to investing in Cryptocurrency, and to motivate you further my neighbor who's already 75 years old invested a big portion of his wealth to Bitcoin and planning to make it as part of his inheritance, because he believes Bitcoin will eventually reach $1 million in the future and he wants his family to reap the rewards in the future.

...and the people who answered no, they explained the reason, namely because I was old, whereas if investing in bitcoin it had to be long term.
At 47, you can very well still invest for the long term. 7-15 years qualifies as a long term investment and at 47 you have more healthy years than that ahead of you to look forward to and possibly something to bequeath to your kin. Bitcoin can help you achieve all these if you invest prudently.

What distinguishes the middle aged to older generation is they seek out more stable investments and avoid more high risk assets, but if you do your research and apply caution while diversifying your investments, it could turn out successful.

I want to ask what do all my friends think about this problem?
This is not a problem, it is just a situation.

Just 47 years old it doesn't matter in cryptocurrency because age doesn't matter to invest in cryptocurrency yes but according to the average life expectancy of some countries 47 years old can be called old age.  And in some countries many apply for government jobs at the age of 47.  Talent is much more important than age in cryptocurrency.  You can invest in Bitcoin wisely even in old age.

The average age of the countries mentioned in the picture is above 47 years, the people of these countries will be alive for more than 47 years, then 47 years is not an event for them.  If they invest in Bitcoin at the age of 47, it will not be too late but it will be the right time to invest.

Your age will not be a barrier to investing in bitcoin because there really is no limit to it. BTC even quite old people buy and topics dedicated to this can be found on the forum.

If something happens to you, then your children will be able to use this btc you bought and this can be the best legacy. Even in the worst case scenario of investing a very old person, bitcoin will pass to his descendants (if care is taken to provide them with the necessary information in advance).

This is not a problem and stop thinking about it, but feel free to invest if you are ready for it, mentally and financially ready, and prepared for the risks.

It is not too late to start at age of 47 but because you are no longer young, you should be more careful.

If you make mistakes and bet all your money, savings in Bitcoin and by whatsoever reasons lose all your fund, you will likely kill yourself. You will burn your fund which you earned after many years of working and you won't have many years left to work and earn a same fund. A chance to restart and get a second chance would be very small for you.

Now, what are sorts of mistake can cause such horrible loses?
  • Trading
  • Trading with leverages (Margin), Futures
  • Don't buy BTC but buy Wrapped Bitcoin tokens. I explained in the quote.
  • Join Ponzi, pyramid schemes
  • Gambling irresponsible

Wrapped Bitcoin is not Bitcoin on Bitcoin blockchain.

These wrapped ones are tokens on many chains that can be Ethereum chain, Binance Smart Chain, Solana chain and any other chains. These tokens are promised by their teams that they are backed by bitcoin with 1:1 rate.

Because, wrapped tokens have pegs, they can lose pegs (de-pegs) like stable coins de-peg (UST, TUSD etc.)

A beginner's guide to understanding wrapped tokens and wrapped Bitcoin (https://cointelegraph.com/altcoins-for-beginners/a-beginners-guide-to-understanding-wrapped-tokens-and-wrapped-bitcoin)
What’s Happening With Wrapped Bitcoin on Ethereum? (https://decrypt.co/115986/whats-happening-wrapped-bitcoin-ethereum)

You will ask a question "Why were these wrapped tokens created?"
  • They were created to steal your bitcoins.
  • Rather than buying and holding bitcoins, you buy these tokens and use them on other blockchains. When they de-peg to zero, you have a wrapped token in hand and have no bitcoins.

I thought most of the people who invest in bitcoin were young people, apparently not.
Well, even if the majority of investors are younger people, that doesn't limit you in any way. You decide your own investments and actually qualify as a part of the younger generation in certain definitions.

What really matter is how young you are at heart and how open you are to new technologies.

it's true what you say, yes actually young or old will not be an obstacle to investing, because we will not know how old we are. the point is we have to think positively in all things, thank you for the advice you provide.

don't make your age limit your investment in bitcoin, bitcoin price is still cheap, buy it now or never, i also got to know bitcoin when i was over 35 years old and now i enjoy investing in bitcoin.

all that is needed is faith in bitcoin, prices do change but the value of bitcoin in the future will definitely be much doubled from now, bitcoin is an inheritance of high value that you can pass on to your children (much more valuable than gold, stocks, and property), later your child will thank to you.  Bitcoin is open to everyone, all ages, all genders and all walks of life, there are no restrictions here >> only believe it or not.

Your life, should be your choice too. Why do ask other people? In my opinion, as they say, it's better to be late than never. There's nothing wrong with investing in bitcoin at this age. It's all about your financial decision. Also, they say, life begins at 40 (https://www.myenglishpages.com/english/random-idiom.php?c=1089). It's not too late yet.

but I personally will still invest in bitcoin because in my opinion there will be no loss in investing in bitcoin even in the long term, that is because I have children, even if I may have died I think there will be no loss, because I will tell my children when I invest in bitcoin .
Make sure you use a noncustodial wallet so that your fund doesn't get stuck. Also, use a hardware wallet to avoid funds getting hacked. Be sure to share with someone you trust, how to use the fund in case something wrong happens, otherwise, fund will be lost.

Of course 47 is not too old to invest in bitcoin. At your age you’re probably better off than the average 25 year old. You have a young family so now is a perfect time to start investing in the future of finance. Also 47 is not old, you could have 30-40 years left alive.

Start investing regularly & you could have made life changing profits by the time you’re 60. Again, 47 is not old my friend.

I wish you good luck on your adventure.

There is no specific age that is too late to invest in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. It's important to keep in mind that the value of cryptocurrencies can be highly volatile, and you should only invest what you can afford to lose. It's also a good idea to do your own research and understand the risks involved before making any investment decisions.

That being said, age can be a factor to consider when making any investment. It's generally a good idea to have a diverse portfolio that takes into account your age, risk tolerance, and investment goals. If you are approaching retirement age or have other financial obligations, you may want to be more conservative in your investments.

There is no problem for 47 years or above to invest in bitcoin as long as they can keep their private keys safe and secure, and also has a long-term objective, investing in bitcoin is not an issue.

Many people (young and elderly) have achieved financial freedom thanks to bitcoin investing, regardless of their age.

Anyone who wants to invest in crypto can do so as long as they are willing to accept the associated risk.

Invest as soon as you can to secure your children's future. Good luck to you

No matter your age, it's never too late to consider investing in bitcoin or any other financial asset. Remember, however, that there are risks involved with any type of investment. If you don't understand the ins and outs of bitcoin, it's best to leave this decision to someone who does. The good news is that there are plenty of ways for you to learn more, and if you are buying bitcoin as an investment, take the time to understand its potential and risks.

The first thing you should do is research. Learn about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, find out what makes them valuable and how they're created. You can also look into other types of investments that have similar characteristics to bitcoin. For example, gold, silver and real estate are all considered safe-haven assets because they tend to retain their value even in times of economic uncertainty (although the price fluctuates).

There is no minimum or maximum age to begin investing. We've heard of people who waited until they were in their 50s to make their first million, despite starting the investment about a decade before their current age. In this world, there are no bounds to what you can accomplish. People's opinions should not influence your life choices.

Life is not guaranteed to last forever, but if there is life, there is still a chance that you will reap the benefits in the near future. It's great that you want to teach your children about bitcoin; you can guide them through the process now that you're still available to be their coach and partner in the journey.

no, 47 years old is not "too old" to invest in bitcoin. we have an 80-year-old bitcoin user here in the forum but he hasn't been online since November 21 last year(for anyone who's curious who I am referring to, its Jet Cash (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=698159). I hope he is doing okay), so I don't see why your age would matter if you want to invest in bitcoin. also, as you said, you plan to inform your children of your plan. anyway, welcome to the forum, and good luck!

I can't understand how that person convinced you that you are too old to invest in Bitcoin. If your age does not really allow it, then it will not allow any other investment. Of course, this is nonsense.
There are members in the forum over sixty years of age, if not more. This means that when Bitcoin appeared, they were in the fifties.

Whatever your current age, you are currently a beginner, and therefore you need some time to learn the basics of investment before starting. And this forum is the best place to start.

Do not listen to negative people because they are good at finding obstacles without offering practical solutions to overcome them. In fact, your age is not an important obstacle if your intentions are serious to invest in a new field.

Are you scared you would die anytime soon?
Investment is fir life and as such, you could say, bitcoin is life. So long as you expect yourself to live a long lasting and healthy life, nothing stops you from investing. Most of all, if you've got a family for which, you've got good plans for them then, you could pick up some investments on there behalf. There is nothing wrong with investing at age 47, your just 7years above the regarded age for a youth in my nation. Its better to be in the new world even at a later age while you enjoy the available innovations of the time than to be sorry. No time is ever late for some crypto investment.

So go ahead, join the party! Just make sure to do your research and invest wisely.

When you start something that you love there's no age gap/limit about it and everyone deserves it. I've seen some people whose older than you who just started to go with their dreams so what makes you think you are too old for something like this? It's never been too late for someone to invest in Bitcoin or to start again.

I hope older people than you would realize that because once you lost that moment of time that you have to do something when you have a time those were precious moments that you would cherish forever. Please, remember that. ;)

Well at age of 47 afraid to die anyone soon --dont worry, that age is not scary as you think that you are too late to invest in bitcoin, in fact, it is your great opportunity to have this bitcoin as a hire for your kids or wife. I have a question, I mean are you a tech guy? Most comm, the only people that have a hard time t understanding the crypto world is that they are not techy ones. It is difficult for them to use a gadget and read computers which is becoming a main problem here. As long as you can read and understand numbers, bitcoin is not late for you. If I live near your place, I will voluntarily teach you basic information about bitcoin but however --you can do it by yourself and start here in the forum.

I don't think it's too late to start, maybe it's a better time to start. And at this age, getting acquainted with crypto is not easy, especially if you are surrounded by people who are still pros and cons with crypto, or precisely because there are more cons. This of course makes you confused.

The point is like this, at any age, make sure your investment''
- Invest only in Bitcoin, currently Bitcoin is in a bearish period, at least you can enjoy the results in a few years when it is bullish, whether it will be bullish after this or in the following years.
- Have sufficient capital and free money and not used for anything. because here, crypto investment is indeed risky, once you panic and sell it at a cheap price, then you will lose the asset.
- Investing in Bitcoin one of which is about patience and control over panic and emotions. Once you invest your money in Bitcoin then don't be fooled by FUD and a down market. As much as possible you have to hold until the bullish phase later so you can enjoy the results,
- Again, remember, don't panic.

Age is just a number, besides the only requirement  for you to start investing is a pc/laptop/mobile phones, and a know how, and the rest can be search via google and of course in this forum you will learn almost everything about crypto currency, as for thinking that you will die just teach your son also crypto, so that in the future if ever we are no saying you accidentally died, they know what to do , just give them the seed, before it happens, like last will and testament, but you still have long way to go, don't think of dying early, its not a good thinking.

I think 47 years old is still not too old. Because in today's crypto industry, it's even possible that many are older than you. But what you have to prepare is knowledge about bitcoin and how to invest regularly so that our psychology is maintained. especially if we invest for the long term. And you also need to know the risks you will take. investing in bitcoin has a high risk but also a high potential. high risk high gain. So I advise you to use really cold money. Learning about DCA might also be additional knowledge in the investment techniques that will be used. Lots of discussion about it in this forum. as an example you can see the following topics discussing bitcoin investment JJG’s Outline of Bitcoin Investment Ideas (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5376945.msg58719584#msg58719584) by JayJuanGee (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=252510)

47 years old is still not the age to retire or enjoy life, if you are not investing, you are also working at a company or running your own business. So at your age, there is nothing called late, as long as you are passionate about investing, really passionate about bitcoin, it is never too late to invest.

Investing in bitcoin is like riding a roller coaster, if you can take the risk and you are ready for it, then you can invest in bitcoin. I'm younger than you, but I invest in bitcoin for the future of my children, so I fully support your decision and I wish you luck with your journey.

47 ain't that old imo.

... the other said no, and the people who answered no, they explained the reason, namely because I was old, whereas if investing in bitcoin it had to be long term...

Bitcoin's long term is really short term compared to traditional markets. Just look at progress and price of BTC in last 15 years. Current price also appears to be reasonable to get into.

Age is just a number when it comes to doing something new, mostly something you have been meaning to do for a long time, like investing in Bit coin. The interest may have been there, but the fear or lack of encouragement and proper guidance may have made one wait this long.
It is never too late to invest in bit coin at 47years old.  Afterall, having earned income in one particular way for a long time, it is not a bad idea to try another. Just ensure to follow through on the do's and don'ts inorder not to fall victim to scammers and the best way to gain is by learning from a mentor or tutor or colleague or broker who has more experience in the area of bit coin investment and trades.

to ask about me, who is old, is it worth investing in bitcoin or not?

You are not old. It is not too late. As a matter of fact, you are early.
See, a lot of people say that age is just a number, and you can still unlearn the old beliefs of what you know about how the old financial system and learn how the new decentralized financial system works. How it is freedom for the people.
How it makes people their own banks and be in charge of their own money. I do not know how old your kid is right now but if he/she is already a teenager, start to let them in on what you are learning about bitcoin.

I think you entered at the right time for now. because the price of bitcoin now is much cheaper than when I first entered. accumulating your investment from now on will not be too risky. But that doesn't mean the risk is low. crypto investment still has a high risk. And I think you should still be in shape at 47 years old (in my area, 47 years old is still considered strong and not old). so it's not too late if you start now. But I hope you still have to do an analysis and study everything before deciding to enter.

You can do it at your current age because investing in bitcoin is not only for the long term but we can also make bitcoin a short term investment but for people who have just joined bitcoin it is not recommended to make bitcoin a short term investment if you don't have much knowledge because the risk of loss that we face is higher than investing in the long term, now you have to make a wise decision before putting your funds into bitcoin and understand the risks it causes.

Investment in bitcoin or crypto has no age limit, anyone can invest and from any background. If you feel you are too old and bitcoin investment will be used as a long-term investment, you can give a bitcoin inheritance to your children or family. There is no need to get smart overnight to invest in bitcoin, if you have money to invest, do so immediately and keep it in your personal wallet. Remember don't store your bitcoins in centralized exchange wallets, it won't be guaranteed long term. Use a personal wallet where you hold the key yourself.

Age doesn't matter when investing in Bitcoin because what is important is that you are doing something like building another source of income but it is a question if you are ready enough to take the risk or not. In fact, 47 years old is not old enough to start doing business or just simply hold. If I were you, I'd better start now and make a profit later. We don't need to compare our age to these young people because it was not necessary. We take this opportunity because we believe that this could help us in the future rather than just spending our money on useless stuff.

I think of 47 as a middle-aged person who is neither old nor young. Like age, learning never stops. There is no age limit for investing in bitcoin. Old people own and run investment firms, and investment, in general, is even governed by them. The only people who should not invest in bitcoin are those not updated on the use of modern technology. There are people who do not like touchscreen phones and do not use computers, laptops, or the internet.

I want to ask what do all my friends think about this problem?

First of all 47 is not too old, its just comes under middle age and about the long term not just bitcoin almost every other investments are profitable in long term then it means Buffet should not invest in stocks anymore? No its not like that the concept is as early as you can start your investment career you have more time to persue your goal whereas everyone can run with the same goal and try to achieve it. Bitcoin investment isn't that long comparing with stock and gold even 4 years can give you x amount of the capital so go for it with no second opinion.

Even though we are mostly will want you to invest in Bitcoin, you should first know more how bitcoin works. Do not be hasty. Try to learn about bitcoin as much as you can before you invest big, you know, just so you are aware about what you're investing at. Do not be too hopeful, but personally I would say that btc still has a great future ahead. That's it. Assess if you are really into investing with Bitcoin. By the way, the age part does not matter.

Age is not a reason not to invest in bitcoin or anything. In fact I'm pretty sure the average high profile bitcoin investor is 35 years old above, and over time they too have continued to do so without worrying about age. This investment is not just for us, but for the future of our children and family, besides we can enjoy it ourselves.

I know there are concerns about who will have control of our assets in the future, but if we do care then we should be prepared to inherit them on to them on our own terms.

the advice from all of you is very good, and of course it is a motivation for myself so that I can continue to study in this forum, namely so that my insights about bitcoin and crypto broaden.

You can invest in bitcoin regardless of your age. The person who told you that you were too old to invest in bitcoin doesn't know who is going to live longer than you, so you need to make the right choice for both your children's future and your own. If you do this, even after you pass away, your children won't have to beg for food, which is good since you asked in this forum. The decision you make to invest in bitcoin is not influenced by your age in any way.

Age has nothing to do with investing bitcoin . Bitcoin is open for everyone irrespective of age, gender,  race. Bitcoin is for everyone one , the important thing about bitcoin is that one has to understand it. Understanding is the first key of investing bitcoin.  I think most elderly people don't pick interest in crypto just because they have mentality that bitcoin is for the young people and this mentality is wrong. Bitcoin is for everyone so far as one can invest the amount they can afford to lose and also have patient when the market gets dip.

I don’t find age as hindrance on investing no matter what kind of assets you are investing especially Bitcoin. Actually Bitcoin is a very good investment choice for old people because its volatility can give a quick return. Old man typically already have short time left and Bitcoin is perfect for that because they can still enjoy the fruit of there investment while they are still alive.

Just learn how to manage risk properly then you are good to go. We are all equal im age here when it comes to Bitcoin holding because we didn’t know each other unless you specify your identity by yourself.

Now that's exactly why we have a majority of the worlds population in poverty, give them the same opportunity that the rich today held and they'll call it a scam or say it's not for people like them. They forget that even though let say their assumptions were correct then what about their future family, won't they be young at some point. Why not invest for them then so when they come into this world they don't get hit with same poverty as they're suffering now. Just as everybody has said, Bitcoin has nothing to do with age and so is most investment today.

Infact you don't need to wait that long before you can get a good return of investment on your initial purchase. The only reason we're advice against cashing out on our investment now is because we're still in the very early stages and there are more surprises to come. If you look at it, we're just 14 years after the invention of Bitcoin and we have already achieved all this and trading at this price, now imagine what next decade holds.

You are never too old to invest in bitcoins. IMO at age 47 you will be more focused to invest and hodl than a very young person who still has distractions and unnecessary things they want to spend on due to pressure. Relax, you're not 70+. In 10 years from now, you'll most likely and hopefully be alive. Ten years for bitcoin is quite a lot. Just think that FTX 32 billion bubble burst, several other exchanges went bankrupt, price crashed to $16,000 from $61,000, prime minister of a nation announces purchases of bitcoin like a spoiled kid in Twitch, Lightning Network is being used more confidently, there are pretty much fascinating news every once in a while-- and all these within one year.

Don't look into the age OP. Age is not a problem, in fact, even a 50-year-old can still invest as long as we are not dying. As long as we still have enough energy, why we should waste this opportunity? If we invest now, it is possible we can earn a profit 2-3 from now, it was not a long wait for us. I would say that it was best to have this investment at your age as it won't compromise your health because the only thing you do after buying is to wait for the bull season and then sell.
If you have money, then do it.

You don't need any age to invest in Bitcoin. If you have money you can invest in Bitcoin. But you can tell the investment address to your child or wife if you feel very helpless. But you can invest right now as our next halving is probably going to start in 2024. Present time is very good time to invest. I think no one should miss this time.

nothing wrong about age. The most crucial aspect is that you understand how it functions from your Bitcoin purchases and storage. Additionally, you want to preserve Bitcoin for your child.
Age is fine; the only requirement is that you show your child how to access your Bitcoin wallet. When your wife or child are unaware, your plans could easily vanish if you don't have a seed or a key.
I wish you a long life so you can spend your Bitcoin with your loved ones.

Actually buy Bitcoin is very easy since there's many exchange that you can choose, the problem is how consistent you're and your risk management, don't fall in shitcoins project because it's hyped, it just for short time and the coins will become worthless.

Just investing alone, search the name of Warren Buffett and you'll see how old he is and yet he's one of the richest person in the world. Yeah, not about the trivia but the possibility that investing is for all the ages.

We've got Jet Cash who's known to be one of the young at heart in the forum and yet he's one of the bitcoin bulls here.

Do not listen to the negative people that tells you to stop investing and investing in bitcoin isn't for the old. Investing doesn't have any age requirement and it's for all and the same goes for owning bitcoin.

I'm my own opinion Age doesn't matter in investing cause we all know that ONLY the young one can invest in crypto.Op as long as you want to invest and know what you doing then it's okay go for it. It's your choice then no one can put a barrier to stop you. And also the price of Bitcoin is volatile so there's a chance that if you invested in your age at 47 maybe 5 years after you invested to day and exactly you are 52 and the price will go up or tripled the current price then you gain a profit, that is the logic investing so for me Go on and invest.

You are old and the investment has to be long term?  That is very insulting and mean.  Your friend can be 20 years old and still die tomorrow.  Age means nothing.  You may have more than 40 years ahead to live.  Who knows.  Some people get to see their children die.  Think about it.  There is no guarantee over who lives for how long.

Are these friends really friends though.  You should do what ever you want to do.  Not listen to them.  Not listen to us either, unless it is a really important information.  If you want to invest in Bitcoin, so be it.  Do it.  Nothing stops you.  Age will absolutely not.

I know someone on this forum that's 70 years old and he is a crypto miner with many asic mining machines, if someone like this can live his life with crypto mining and investing so can anyone even if they are old, but OP you are just 47 years old, why did you feel this is an old age? You still have many years ahead even if you start investing today, it only takes few years for Bitcoin to make new ATH again.

I'm 47 years old, and I see and hear a lot of young people talking about bitcoin, and when I asked 2 young people and I asked, can I be the same age as me to invest in bitcoin? ..

It all depends on what goal you set for yourself when investing in bitcoin. If your goal is to sell bitcoin after the last BTC is minted, approximately in 2140, then it's too late to buy bitcoin) In all other cases, there are no age restrictions for buying BTC.

I would age is mere a number and it all depends on your perspective how you see things around you.If you have made up mind of investing in bitcoin then anytime is good keeping in mind your goal is 4+ years of holding with patience or if you can make short term profits. There are many people who started late but have reached success level like KFC owner so there are many examples and 47 is not too old frankly saying. It could work as your old age helping funds if you start now and keep your wallet safe with proper backup of seeds.Best of luck to you.

If you think 47 years old is too late to invest in Bitcoin, what about this user Jet Cash (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=698159) that if I'm not mistaken already 70-80 years old? there's nothing late to invest in Bitcoin, but it's will be too late if you not start it today!

Actually buy Bitcoin is very easy since there's many exchange that you can choose, the problem is how consistent you're and your risk management, don't fall in shitcoins project because it's hyped, it just for short time and the coins will become worthless.
Even under 18 you can invest in bitcoin, but this can be done with the help of parents, or possibly close people. And as for the completely summer people, I believe that there is no chapel when you can start buying bitcoin.

Even if it's 50 or 60 years old, it's never too late to start buying. If this investment doesn't work for you, then it could be a great investment for our children or grandchildren. And 47 years old is still a relatively young age, at this age you definitely shouldn't worry, just keep buying and expect a profit.

I had to chuckle when I read about this unbelievably old man aged 47. Were you one of the builders of the great pyramids, mister?
Don't put such shackles on your hands and feet. If you feel up to it, go ahead and learn.

I remember a long time ago when I was in college, there was a student among us that was older than you are now. He wanted a different career path and successfully graduated with the rest of the students. Bitcoin isn't restrictive to age, but you are expected to learn a lot. It's not just about how to buy and store digital coins. You should be proficient enough to recognize scams when you see them and not fall victim to fraudulent schemes.

If you are ready to read and learn, there are no limits.

In addition to the myriad of different answers on here, I would like to add that it is never too late to do whatever you want to do. Never! All you’ve got to do it to just do it.
Personally, I don’t think you’re too old or it’s too late to invest in bitcoin. There is no age nor time limit for anyone willing to invest in bitcoin.

Right now, you’re probably seeing your age as somewhat of a hinderance to fully go into bitcoin. Please don’t. Bitcoin is accommodating and is for everyone of all ages.
If you’ve determined in your mind that you want to hold and invest in bitcoin, there is nothing that can stop you.

Investing has nothing to do with age. Mate don’t let any tell you other wise you a good to invest in Bitcoin even at forty seven years old. I have seen older men than you still accumulating bitcoin for the future.

You still have good number of years to live and even at that Bitcoin can also be a good legacy you would leave for your younger generation. Start right now and ignore anyone telling you it’s too late.

Age is only a limitation if you let it. Honestly I don’t see how a 42 year old can’t invest in bitcoin, you probably were talking to some kids who don’t know what they are talking about, the reason he gave in the OP is even more crazy. For example, Bitcoin has hit ATH of 68k in ten years, who’s to say we won’t see bitcoin break that record in the next decade? I’m curious to know what investment would be suitable for an old man of 42?

I think it is not too late but I agree with the others that the earlier the better. Even though you are late in my opinion but you still have a chance to earn a profit in any way you can. Some people use their skills to earn money and some use different ways to earn money. If you are late to know about Bitcoin then do you think that there are much more older people who invest in Bitcoin?. It depends on the situation because age has nothing to do with investment.

Just do what the best you can do in your life OP and don't make your age a hindrance to not doing it. Besides, a 47-year-old is not old enough that can't think right and at this age, we are certainly mature enough to make a decision. You don't need to lose this opportunity and erase your bad thoughts about "what if I die and lose my money?" Just think about how we are preparing for a better future and consider this investment is not just for ourselves but for our family.

The OP is great at planning investments intended for inheritance. there is nothing wrong with age, but who knows how old we will last. so as much as possible to do the best, investment for yourself or the family is good planning. most importantly, OP must tell his family about the Bitcoin assets he owns. regardless of the value in the future, he and his family can enjoy the results of the investment he is currently making.

You are 47 years of age, I don't really think you are that old, the person that advised you not to invest those not really mean good for u, no matter how old you are, you can definitely invest. My advice for you is that you can invest any amount you can afford to loss and the money you won't be needing for now on bitcoin, am sure you will never regret why you invested in bitcoin and incase if anything happens to you, your children will have something to fall back to and am sure your children will also be proud of you.

Welcome to the forum. The person who gave you that hint to join this forum just handed over to you immense key to crypto knowledge. Today, marks it exactly six years I stumbled and registered on this forum unaided. I checked your profile and you're barely five days registered on this forum, you're on a good start for the year. Just keep it up and become active here. I'm grateful to my curiosity that drove me to this forum and I believe you will discover the value of being in this forum sooner than you imagine.

On the age thing, people older than 47 years have investments in stocks and banks while should Bitcoin be any different? I know of a user here who's well past 70 years and he's a Bitcoiner. That user isn't the only one, judging by the tone of others. What makes you even think that age should matter when it comes to investment? I think it's more of interest than age.

I believe you still have a very good opportunity to invest in bitcoin. Even if you want to invest for long term, may be 5 years, you will still be 52 years.
So the answer is capital yes for me because to me BTC has no age limit for anybody who wishes to invest.

It's not too late no matter how old you are now you can make the investment you want in bitcoin and maybe these 2 young people have different views whereas you shouldn't look at the bad side and it's clear investing in bitcoin is a long term must to start from now on coincidentally the price is low, there is a 70% decrease from the highest price.

What is certain is that you already understand what bitcoin is, after that you can learn about the strategy so that your plan can go according to plan because even having a strategy with a 3-5 year timeframe can result in the investment made by you.

Something bad is not really thought about (death) that is clear just live it and let your child also know about bitcoin because after all he will be the heir as you say it is.

It is definitely worth it to invest in BTC no matter how young/old you are. 47 years old is relatively young given the average age group in this forum.

The beauty behind investing into BTC is that its price may skyrocket anytime. Its high volatility makes it a perfect investment either for short/long-term depending on its price on the market. As someone who has been active in this forum for five (5) years already, I have witnessed its price increasing/decreasing overtime. You can definitely earn big and take advantage of such opportunity if you are at least active enough in knowing its price.

As for inheritance, you can keep your private key stored in a hardware wallet for your kids to know when they reach a certain age. This protects your investment in becoming "lost" especially if you unexpectedly meet your demise.

Investing is not like when we do something out there, sometimes there is a lot of work that takes a lot of health to complete, and age will be an issue for older people. But for investment, age doesn't matter, as long as you are smart and know how to calculate, you can invest anytime you want. Cryptocurrency investments are much riskier than investments like gold or real estate, I think that's why your friend didn't agree to let you invest. But the decision is up to you, and if I were your friend, I would still support you as long as you are willing to take risks and ready to take losses with what you invest.

Bitcoin is for everyone and there is no age limit for investing in cryptocurrencies. As long as you are confident in Bitcoin and are prepared, do your research before deciding to invest, learn how to properly manage risk and learn more about how Bitcoin works. Investing an amount that you can afford to lose still has a chance of making a return on Bitcoin.

I am 10 years older than you, but I have never had such a question that interests you at the moment. You should understand that your investments can serve your children and grandchildren and it is possible that this will be the most profitable inheritance. The main thing is that you leave your relatives a private key so that they can use the cryptocurrency you left, in case the worst happens to you.

I think there is no age requirement to invest in Bitcoin, if you have self-esteem you can definitely invest successfully.  Currently many people are more interested in this Bitcoin investment.  If you want to invest in Bitcoin then it is very important that you first have a good knowledge of the market.  You can visit many Bitcoin investment sites to learn about investing.  And later you will be able to consider yourself as a successful businessman by investing in Bitcoin.

When it comes to investment, there is no age restriction and when it comes to wealth creation, there is still no age restriction.
You have to invest in a particular thing only when you got the information.
Whereas some got the information about bitcoin when they are in their early 20s. Some like you got it in their late age and you also need to invest.
There are people who never heard of bitcoin or who are not yet born but they have investment in bitcoin, just like parents who invested for their unborn children.

We suggest that you stay consistent with your stance to keep investing in Bitcoin, even though you are already 47 years old, we still really say you are not too late with all of this and we are proud of the form of appreciation you have for continuing to adopt Bitcoin, in general we will not know what what happens tomorrow, age does not determine young or old. and we respect your decision to invest in Bitcoin even though it is getting old and you will pass it on to the children.

Basically investing in Bitcoin is also an asset, it would be better if you talk about it with your family or your children at an advanced age, especially about assets.
we claim the right way as you said that will inherit to the child if you die first.
one thing that we are happy about your decision is to remain consistent in investing in Bitcoin.

I don't think old age can stop someone from investment especially in bitcoin investment which does not even required physical energy, infact I don't think 70 years is that old enough in investing in bitcoin  talk of 47 year old. Op is not age that due determine death period even young age are dieing, so anybody can die at any age so don't allow age to create fair in your future plans and nobody can speak on what will happen tomorrow, even the   young people who are investing in bitcoin no assurance that they will reach certain years on earth. So believe that is not age that give assurance of long life.

now you just have an advantage compared to those kids you asked for advice because you have much more life experience that will definitely help you in making some right decisions.

of course, before each step, come here and ask, there will always be someone to share your experience and reduce your potential risk as a newbie.

I've also noticed that very few "young" people really understand how Bitcoin can be a hard asset. They trot out all the standard reasons, but they have no concept of the fundamental concept of abstract assets that have a hard value.

btw Bitcoin is the only crypto with this virtue.

Age is not a factor when investing in bitcoin because there are many features that your family can take advantage of even if you pass away. I view bitcoin as an asset because, based on what I've seen and done, I don't think I'll be leaving any time soon. However, bitcoin is one of the best innovations I've come across, even though it comes with its own risks, it's still something I love and am prepared to take to the next level when I learn more.

If the OP wants to invest in bitcoin at the age of 47, then surely that's not a big deal to do. He just needs to know how bitcoin and the market work, and how to secure those bitcoin after buying them. A lot of hard things get easier when we make them easier, I mean it's just about our mindset on what we want to learn and find it important.

I don't think the OP has to be someone who studies technical if the goal here is as an investor. A basic lesson about bitcoin is enough to let him know how it works and how to get value.

When investing at that age you need to know the right from the wrong platform so that you will will not fall in the hands of scammers.
When i fort went into investment was at my 20 and I was going fine and I happy about it,but I never new it all about and I lost alot because I didn't give my all to it, so I realized that you learn and you need to be smart also.

People always say age is just a number and I think it's appropriate we apply it here.. besides investing in crypto at that age is perfect timing as you aren't in so much of a hurry to make money like a teenager who would want to have money to impress or showoff to his /her friends...at this point it could be considered as diversifying your investments on top of what you might already have. If you like you can leave your crypto investment as a present for your kids or grand kids when the grow up which should be worth something.

I do agree with some people who said that there is no limitation on the age to invest in Bitcoin. I think that in some countries, the age of 47 seems to be still powerful and spirit enough to do something. This is not late because you still have the chance to enjoy the result if you want to invest in the long term. But I think that you must know and understand the basics of crypto investment. I mean the risks and also the chances to get the profits. As long as you are willing to learn and not going to scammers, you may choose Bitcoin as the best choice for investment. But ensure that you will not panic if the market is dropping. Here, you can enjoy your investment by waiting for at least the bullish era so your asset value will be increasing.

If you have money to invest in bitcoin, 47 is just a number, in some part of the world people looks strong at this age.
Keep your seed phrases to your family members or let them know about your investment on bitcoin. At this age you should have a family, you should have kids, so let them know about your investment.

and the other young man gave me a hint, namely for me to join this forum to ask about me, who is old, is it worth investing in bitcoin or not?

but I personally will still invest in bitcoin because in my opinion there will be no loss in investing in bitcoin even in the long term, that is because I have children, even if I may have died I think there will be no loss, because I will tell my children when I invest in bitcoin .

and I will inherit bitcoin to my kid if I die first.

I want to ask what do all my friends think about this problem?
Nice to see your post! I really admire those people who are open-minded when it comes to investment. Actually, I am working in other country since last year. And I have met a lot of young people 4 to 8 years older than me but they don't have any idea about cryptocurrency. They only knows that bitcoin is a shit scam. Then, I was shocked because I have met 2 different people from my own country who are currently investing in cryptocurrency for their retirement. And guess what? They are both above 60+ years old. One of them tried to mine bitcoin before and the other one stays in long term holding.

That is why I am always glad to see them because everytime we talk together, we always share our opinion about bull run and insights in cryptocurrency. BTW, I am in 20's.

I don't see any age as too late to invest in Bitcoin,as long as man is still breathing, and you have the means to invest in bitcoin,do it,because man is never tired of making money,
As far as I know,I will continue investing in long term project to save me tomorrow from being bankrupt, and to save me from being poor.I know 47 is almost closer to years of retirement, but it isn't still bad to invest despite reaching that age. Most people get project that will save them from poverty in the nearest future from now,and sell it when the demand for it is high.

Your age shouldn’t be a restriction in order to chase after your goals on investing in bitcoin, making an attempt to invest is a very bold step to the determining factor. Once you gather the adequate information and vital details on how to go about making the right investment, then you are good to go. You can always enjoy your profit once Bitcoin rises (which I believe that it would definitely rise sooner or later). A good investment is a great asset which will be so much beneficial to you and your children later in life. Bitcoin still has a very long way to go in order to rise even in the future, so therefore when you invest now on BTC, you ain’t making any form of mistake, you are actually making a very bright and greater investment.
