Any chance you click hide on that's section (because the message contain no longer viewable by you)? I can quote it without any problem.

As you can see, I can see the topic clearly or how did I take the screen shot or even was able to reply the OP 🤣?

You probably ignored the altcoin discussion board that's why it says " is no longer viewable by you."
As i can quote the post after checking this thread but when i tried to ignored the board, i encounter the same message you posted.
Although, i think the "is no longer viewable by you." should be changed because you can literally view the thread as you can access it.

I clearly understand what I'm talking about, you might see the topic from someone post/recent post, but you're not visit on Altcoins discussion section.

If you want to fix it, just click your profile (with your ID number) and paste this ";sa=ignoreBoards"

Uncheck the Altcoins discussion section, let's see what you will get.

Anyway I've learn new thing, "hide" and "ignore" are different.

He can click on profile -> Ignore Boards Preferences, to uncheck it.

It would work perfectly and he will be able to quote the user's post that he wants to quote.

If a board is put on ignore, it will not appear again through the forum home page, but what I think that happened is that BitcoinGirl.Club opened the altcoin board already before in his browser, but later put the altcoin board on ignore. If done like that, he will still be able to access the altcoin board through the altcoin board link already opened in his browser, but forgetting that he put the board on ignore.

I guess some people can leave a link opened on their browser for days, weeks...

Yes, it is a bug.

There is a chance ^{so slim to see this coincidence} if OP opened the topic, and shortly later ignored that board. In this case, that topic will no longer be seen at the forum main page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php because a whole board will be hidden, including that topic. However, if OP has a browser page that opened that topic before the ignore button was used, OP can still read it. Then it can cause a problem when hitting Report button.

OP can still open and view that topic if he has a link too.

Another problem is you can not merit any post in that topic and that board.

I confirm that I can still be able to edit my post after ignoring Meta board.

Sum up
If you ignore a board

• You can open a topic and view posts inside if you have a topic link
• You can edit your posts in that topic, in that board too.
• Posts in that board will be hidden at your post history page.
• You can not reply, quote, and merit any post in that board. Reply, Quote and Merit buttons are available but you will get error.

If you're certain you didn't ignore the board.the only other alternatives I can think of is that you have no script enabled or another plug in that's trying to improve your privacy by not sending something across when it's put in the url bar by the quote.

It's been said before that you can't load up the site without noscript over tor and I don't know if that's the same if you use a vpn or not (if cloud flare or Google have built up a profile about you it might not be needed).

This is the most plausible reason why OP cannot quote that reply.

I just went through the motions of ignoring the altcoin discussion board and then using the link in this thread to access that post and try to quote it; I am hit with the exact same error message.

On trying to create a reply, the message box opens, but I didn't try to send a post to know if I don't get an error message back as well.

I tried to quote the same post and it works for me like for any other post, but like other people said you probably have Altcoins board on ignore.
Something similar happens to me only when I have many opened tabs for longer amount of time and then I get error that I can't quote or reply anything until I refresh the page.

It shows the error only when you try to quote, but when you use reply then it works. I have many boards on ignore and after reading the responses I tried on another board results the same error.

Thanks everyone for your responses and checking the error. It resolves the issue. New learning though. I will lock the topic.
