Title: Please help ...
Post by: Mandamus081065191073 on January 17, 2023, 10:33:19 PM
Apologies, I know this may be off topic and I'm in the wrong thread maybe.

I'm trying to reach Vladimir - but he doesn't accept posts from newbies.

Could one of the Moderators PM and I can give them the email address @PM.me for him to contact me.

I emailed someone called Loycev on this but heard nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And again I apologise if this in the wrong place - happy to be guided.

Thx Mandamus.

Vladimir (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3380)? Is this the user you wanted to send message to?
If so, take note that he/she was last active in 2014 and even if you could message him/her, it would be very unlikely to get a response.

Newbies do not allow to PM anyone here unless the user you trying to contact has enabled "Allow newbies to send you PMs." they can receive it.
The only way that I think that you can remove this restriction you need to become a Jr. member above or I don't think copper membership can remove the restriction
but buying it will lift some restrictions. Or according to old post here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=254950.msg2714346#msg2714346) for a brand new account you need to make 1 post and wait for the 4 hours after that you should be able to use the PM.

My email address isn't for contacting others (and i can't believe I have to explain this).

I actually assumed it was an email to know if you can whitelist their account and lift some of the newbie member rank restrictions.
OP, you'll have to find some other way to contact the user in question, maybe go through their profile for any additional contact which is still active now.

I did whitelist him, after that he sent another email asking questions including if I can contact someone. This morning, I saw 2 more emails from him.
That email address is for removing proxybans (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5350260.0), some people seem to think I am Bitcointalk Customer Support (or their personal assistent). I just ignore them. I'll add another post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5350260.msg61614354#msg61614354) in that topic.

Vladimir (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3380) was last online in 2014. Give it up.

A newbie with copper membership is able to send personal message to any user even if the receiver doesn't want to receive message from newbies.
Read the topic made by The Sceptical Chymist.

As a newbie, you can't send any @PM to anyone. If you read the following guide & rules then you can learn more about the forum.

1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.msg16958010#msg16958010
2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.msg7955645#msg7955645

Thank You

Do you know him personally or do you have something important to tell him?
It's useless for you to try to contact him through the forum because he hasn't been active here for a long time. Try looking for social media accounts to contact him or contact the people closest to him to ask him to contact you immediately.

We have a lot of newbies who have the  passion and zeal to learn alot for those that were here before they came in,my self I most confuse this that I really want to learn more and also to be thought in a good way also.
I guess I don't have to say i needed a mentor or a roll method to at list guard us and explain well about this bitcoin talk.
I hope fully believe that am in the right place if not am not mistaking I guess.
We newbies need alot to know and also learn about this bitcoin talk forum because I have really seen alot to know more about here and to learn more also about them too.
Do you care to read what the topic is about or just simply make such post about how newbies should grow on the forum? The topic is about something else while you are making off topic post which is of low quality and discouraged.

You said lot about newbies functionality on the forum and how should they grow but you have registered on the forum approximately 487 days or more then 1 year earning not even a single merit so is this how you make progress and know lot about forum?

As a newbie, you can't send any @PM to anyone. If you read the following guide & rules then you can learn more about the forum.
But with buying copper membership this restrictions can be lifted and you can send messages to anyone on the forum but in his case it's not helpful as the person he needs to contact has been offline from so many years on the forum.

My email address isn't for contacting others (and i can't believe I have to explain this).
Yeah members need to know that any other work or communication details they are looking for it should not go through you but only those mails like lifting proxyban should be sent to you.
