Title: Best Antminers setting to low noise? Post by: Linderst on January 20, 2023, 09:04:10 PM Hi Guys,
Simple question; What are the best BTC and LTC (Ant) miners to use as home heater and make them low noise? Right know; I have 2 Antminer L3+ with Blissz Firmware mining @ 250 MH using 340-50 watt with fans super silent (6-7% something?) Temps are very good but the heat is still (very) nice. Great! A perfect space heater! Too bad the nice working Blissz fw is having a mining fee precentage it mines now and then... So my question; - Is there somthing like Blissz fw I can use and do the same settings without the fee mining? - Are the more (ant) Miners BTC-LTC who can do the same trick with other FW? examp. say Antminer S9 @ 4 TH @ 320-350 TH super silent? or Avalon? Or something other silent settings -you- use? I don't care about super efficient high power... I need to heat my home, with electricity, simple... Mining works great As i find out sofar and not only burning power to heat, butt make some POW coins :) Idea = cheap Antminers L3, S9 to convert to silent Home miners with use of other FW. (and maybe change of fans to Noctua) But what are good (other) FW with full miner control? (fans, freq, voltage, etc?) Let me know what you are using for full control L3 or S9? what is the power use? How silent are they? @ how much TH? Title: Re: Best Antminers setting to low noise? Post by: adaseb on January 21, 2023, 05:03:11 AM I think Phil would be the best to answer this question. From what I remember he took a car muffler and used it to make his Antminer quiet.
I had a few old S3/S4/S5 and the only way you could make those quiet there was this pencil mod trick and what it basically did was increase resistance of a few resistors and undervolted the hash boards so you could under clock in your settings and it ran much cooler. No idea if it still works on the current gen of Antminer. Title: Re: Best Antminers setting to low noise? Post by: philipma1957 on January 23, 2023, 04:39:39 AM i will post back to this later tonight. the s19j 100th set to low using fan spoofing and large eight inch dual vents with an eight inch duct fan is good. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-pc-4-Pins-Fan-Simulator-Emulator-For-A3-D3-L3-S7-S9-S9i-S9j-S15-S17-T17-T17-/203764567923? https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-6-8-Inch-Exhaust-Inline-Duct-Fan-HVAC-Blower-Kit-w-Variable-Speed-Controller/285066554125? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antminer-DR5-L7-S15-T15-S17-T17-S19-Z9-Z11-8-Double-fan-duct-Shroud-eBit-10-2/304119146264? it is effective on power and not crazy loud. To me the best is the L3+ use a 1000 watt corsair set to about 600 watts fans to 20-30% there is a decent 150cfm delta fan you can use. https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-Delta-fans-120mm-4000-RPM-12-Volts-4pin-Connector-New-And-Working-/185296944683? there is an issue with the l3+ some times the hashboard can catch the fan a break a blade. best fix is buy longer screws for the fan and washers. put a set of 4 washers under the plate and that moves the mount plate away from the hash boards. then put a set of four washers between the fan and the mount plate. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074V14N8Y? the fan screws are a little bit longer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZYRLGHN? you can use the 4mm and the 5 mm on the fan mount and the 3mm between the mount plate and the main frame. these also help with rattles. these l3+ have been great gear for me space heater deluxe and money maker. |
