Bitcoin have show quite a lot of traction lately even though there have been many challenges in the past few months in 2022, the the year 2023 have been filled some exciting chart outlook where Bitcoin shown a lot of green signal of more demand compare to the red negative chart that flood the chart through out last year.

WHAT IS YOU CURRENT BTC MINDSET:
2023 is the year I found my confidence in bitcoin as I have not check the price of Bitcoin for the past 80 hours, since I am now fully into long term holding giving myself, a timeframe of 2-3 years before looking back on the price but what I will do is to accumulate more Bitcoin as chances present itself.

Who else have my kind of mindset let discussed welcome to the future Bitcoin holders!

Well, yea. What your "mindset" is — pretty much investing for the long term(which what investing in general should be in the first place), is pretty much what's being heavily encouraged here on Bitcointalk.

It can be too early to judge, It may have been a peaceful 80 hours, there will be some days when the news about bitcoins will not be good and the price will be affected, the news will be everywhere, it will be difficult for you to avoid. The temptation to check the price of bitcoins and the amount you have in your wallet will be there.

It is not just about checking the price or not, you have to just discipline yourself that even if you check the price, you will be able to control yourself and defeat the urge to stop HODLing. That is a better mindset for the year for me.

2022 was not the year for Bitcoin, it managed to slow down the fall later but selling from the peak of about $48,000 to the bottom of about $15,500 was tough for the coin. And in 2023, I see a coin that will conclude all its activities within the level as well, and if it would make a breakout at all, it's probably going to be on the downside.

But for now, the bias is bullish for as long as it would last. By the way, buying and holding from the beginning of this year is a very good deal, it means that you have bought at a low price, and you can safely hold it as long as you want. Nonetheless, if I were you, almost 2 years (1.9 years will be perfect) of holding would do just fine. Who knows what it would do after halving's bullish run?
 

Every year is good for Bitcoin, it just depends if you are a beginner who wants to buy as cheap as possible, or if you are someone who bought in the past and wants to sell at a higher price. What is always wrong is to be under the impression that this will be a good year because the beginning is good, although there is a saying that the day is known by how good the morning was :)


Your mindset should have nothing to do with such insignificant things as whether you will look at the price of BTC today once or ten times as if it has anything to do with whether you think Bitcoin is good or bad at some point. If you didn't look at the price in the next 2-3 years to know when is the right time to sell (assuming that's your goal), how would you choose the right moment to take profit?

Imagine a situation where you don't look at the price for 3 years, and then you realize that we are in a bear market again ::)

Beginning in 2023, Bitcoin must demonstrate its ability to be credible. Really, I hadn't anticipated this pump. Although there are not many positive vibes at the moment, Bitcoin has been growing. I believed it to be a whale bull trap. But it appears that the chart is still very powerful. I believe all the chart needs is a single, big piece of good news. Despite the lack of expectations, there haven't been many negative stories lately. If there is no incident, a dump is not expected anytime soon. $22K appears to be the current support level and is being clutched tightly. I think Bitcoin is getting ready for a bull as of the starting surge.

The mindset I have in this new year 2023 is to be more focus on the crypto market so that I will be using every opportunity to purchase Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and hold for like two to three years before I will sell them to win something big. Since Bitcoin price was dump through out last year 2022 , I think it will pump very well before the end of this year which will help many that will exercise patience with their holding for the price to pump higher.

It doesn't matter when you start and how much you invest. But it's impossible if you don't know the price movement and decide not to look at it for years. Because you need information and this will obviously refer to the price of Bitcoin, so if you want to start then start by entering the bear market when it arrives.

2023 can be said to be the ideal time for beginners to start, but if you look at the next halving, are you ready to hold on? that's what needs to be emphasized. Not everyone succeeds in long-term holding, many fail because of urgent need. And as a long-term investor, things like that need to be considered carefully.

My mindset for Bitcoin in 2023 keep re investing in Bitcoin until touch higher price above $40,000, I don't stop for investing my assets in daily day with few dollar in Bitcoin and hold it until bitcoin reach higher price. There are nothing in my mindset except how effective investing for Bitcoin in 2023.

I think 2023 become ideal time for bitcoin recovering to higher price and still not late for reinvesting and have lower price become opportunity for getting profit later, I don't care about how many time bad news with exchange market scam because I use cold wallet for holding my Bitcoin assets. Middle years in 2023 become time for harvesting with Bitcoin will grow up to higher price, possibility above $40,000 until have chance make new all time high price.

This is a bit too early to conclude. We are just on the first month of 2023 and it’s normal to experience this kind of rally since the price went down a lot since lost year for multiple consecutive months. You should use a monthly time frame to determine the general overview of crypto market. You will notice that the current month is the first positive strong movement after multiple months of dumping and low volume trading.


This same on last year. You can see that Bitcoin manage to have price recovery during February and March after experiencing huge dump from Nov 2021 to January 2022. Price always recover short term after the huge dump then possibly continue to go down further. My strategy is to watch carefully on the price and make sure that I’m not buying on the price that will big time later. I’m currently doing DCA every week but I’m always taking profit too the moment the price moves and gave me a short term gain. I’m currently using x2 to x3 leverage trading to have a decent profit for a minimal move since I’m still convince that this is mega bull run. I will keep doing this short term trade until the price gets to 30K level and above then I will do the power hold.

2023 has come to renew our hopes after a harsh year that was 2022. I believe 2023 is a year of preparations for something big that is about to happen soon, boosting crypto market to fresh levels never seen before in history. It might be a final test for investors where only those who don't give up on their optimism will remain on the game. The market and especially the whales are testing us all the time, playing with our emotions and sentiments. This year it shouldn't be different. All we have to do is to keep strong in our purpose of holding bitcoin, doesn't matter how difficult it looks momentarily. Remember the transition to a new cycle of prosperity must be near!

Hi brother as for as I am concerned I will say that Bitcoin might cross above 32000 dollars in coming weeks and still there is no guarantee about that. And that is just my speculations.
Because in 2023 we are seeing that Inflation rates in USA are very very less and also there have rumors that we might see many more improvements over coming weeks too. And also I have opened my Bitcoin trade at almost 16800 dollars and still keeping it.

Do DCA as much as you can, do it and keep doing it until you really manage to collect it in large quantities. You and anyone here will be driven to invest for the long term, this mindset should be very common. When you think that in the future bitcoin can make you make lot of profit, then think about the quantity. It's good plan, but you also need to manage your finances well without disturbing one thing or another.

I have been a holder so far even though I don't have much. That will mean a lot when the price gets higher, and yes I really hope to be able to hold onto it long term. But up to certain point, I also need to sell it depending on my financial needs.

I don't think I can do without checking the price of bitcoin. I don't know if it's an addiction or it is normal. Even when I am investing for a long term purpose I can't just live complete a day without checking bitcoin price.
Even if it is not for my investment, but for the general well being of the market I always care about the Bitcoin price and I check it as often as I have my mobile phone that is internet enabled.

I’m a p2p trader so I can’t get away with that. It’s part of my job to stay updated with the price of bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. This doesn’t have my hodl mentality, I don’t see the need of checking my personal wallet since I’m not taking the bitcoins out anytime soon. For day traders, they are more concerned about the short gains they can scalp from the little highs and lows. A long term investor shouldn’t be anxious about bitcoin prices.

Well it depends on when you joined crypto-currency. Well there are many people that joined Crypto-currency along time ago and believed in crypto-currency.

Well my mind set for bitcoin this year remains high as always, I think if the bull run doesn’t come this year it would definitely be in 2024 and that’s because of the up coming halving.

Something I do not recommend is forgetting entirely about your investments for a particular amount of time.

Things are moving fast.  Some events are extremely important and have a massive effect on your investment if you are not there at the right time.  Keep yourself updated with all news about your assets and keep an eye on them.  But do not despair and do not obsessively, constantly check prices.  This is the healthiest approach.

If you are too obsessed, you only lose time, stress out unnecessarily and eventually maybe even make decisions you may later regret.  If you are too lax, you may miss some crucial news.  Find a balance.

Everyone has their own mindset, perception or a viewpoint on an issue. Bitcoin last was a favour to some people while a bad Omen to some but all the same. Because in any business there much be a loser and a winner. Those who bought last year will smile this year while those who sell last year who be grumbling. This year is not the real year everyone is waiting but 2924 and 2025 are the main years the prediction lay hand. This year 2023 is still a year of hodling. As for me this year is still a year of buying and not selling if there is other alternative for billings

^Being a positive mindset that BTC price will hit another ATH this year.
The resistance of BTC seems to continue this year, remember that next year supposedly there is a next halving to the BTC which makes a good result for BTC after another year which are we noticed every time there is a next halving the price. So this year 2023 could be a good step and it is wise if you invest last month but I think until now it is not too late for that. Just think positively of the BTC price, hold as long as you can and receive a better reward in the future.

You are right as a trader you must be constantly in touch with the price and that is the only way to monitor your a position to see when to take profits, but in my own case, I am not a trader but a bitcoin holder who is just in for steady accumulation of Bitcoin so it can become frustrating to steadily watch the price chart for me.

Avoiding anxiousness as a holder is the best form of mindset and to do that, there must be a total break from the price until the time frame set for the investment is reached.

This kind of mindset becomes quite commonplace when in this forum because it's not even just 1 or 2 people who do this when talking about long term investing but almost most people seem to have this kind of mindset.
Regardless of what it is, of course it's very good and I like people who have long thoughts like this, although there are still those who seem to panic and sell when their intentions are good enough.

I am into long-term too or when the price hit my target.  I am still accumulating Bitcoin for the long term with a target price of $500k at least.  I am willing to wait for another 2 halving after the next one, more or less 10 years.  I believe that Bitcoin is here to stay and will be fully adopted by many countries since I read that the US of A has a positive view on cryptocurrency specifically Bitcoin.  If the US accepts Bitcoin as a whole then we can see several countries following that example.

Bitcoin is gaining in popularity not just among the rich but among the masses. A lot of persons have not become away of Bitcoin especially in this first quarter of 2023. In my opinion people's mindset should be that they will play whatever role they can to ensure that they give proper education of bitcoin to those who already have a misconception. Also another mindset should be that they would invest time in learning more about Bitcoin in 2023 more than just buying and holding.

if you indeed educate people about this market, they will possibly alter their mindset towards btc and crypto in general. as we all observed, a lot of people has still hesitation on this market because of the stigma attached to it- fraud, money laundering, hacking, big projects failing and many others. so to counteract this kind of mindset, they need to understand what is the real nature of bitcoin and crypto? why is hacking happening and other fraudulent acts by the developers?

If at the end it's just holding Bitcoin in long term then pretty much just like other I guess?
And as you said about accumulate more Bitcoin when you have a chance then I'd assume it's DCA when you don't really care about price and just invest when you have spare money to invest.

It's great to think like that, but just make sure to not get caught up with bubble or any major bad event where it could ruin your decision. If you can get through that, then congratulations.

Idea is good but that won't be as easy as it sounds. As long as you are engaging to online and social media platforms, you'd come across with Bitcoin price or related news such as when the market is on a bullish run or the other way around. If you are really down on this industry, then for sure your actions will be affected by these things which would somehow push you for a stop loss or cut loss, at some point. Those people who I know to be able to actually hold for years are those who forgot that they are holding. Think of the previous ATHs wherein big and small investors take advantage of selling and buying again during dump. Don't do something because that's ideal, do something because it would give you profit.

My focus was towards the year 2024 as halving falls. The gradual rise in the market will have downturn at some point, so that it can once again make a bounce when the market is close to the days of halving. The bullish move at the moment is really good and enjoyable, because none predicted to have a good start in the year.

I have witnessed twice in Bitcoin halving and it usually takes a month(s) before the price will take effect which is the bull market.
People who invested are waiting for this moment to have the next bull run or hit another all-time high which is opposite to the investors who want to enter the market.  They also hope that there's a market correction.

Doing the DCA way of purchasing Bitcoin is a wise idea and holds when there's a bull market trend.

Not going to talk about 2023 specifically but my mindset for bitcoin in every year is to holding bitcoin for the long term will pay you what you want and even if 2023 starts is bearish or even worst than 2022 you will have the chance to get profits in long term because of bitcoin halving cycles which will have definitely good effect of the bitcoin price. SO personally I would say since 2022 was not a good year for bitcoin holders, 2023 should be better than using some potential saved in 2022.

After reading your post I can say it must be really hard for you do not to see market for 80 hours. But that's a good start to develop a skill of holding in yourself and not to fall pray to market sentiments that can lead you to losses. Well nobody can predict the future of Bitcoin but at least we can guess it and my guest is same as your and very optimistic I also think that Bitcoin going to eat next 8th in the next coming 3 to 4 years and this is the right time for us to  accumulate BTC but before accmulating BTC you should be aware of basic things. I think you are not being sincere here, i personally do not think its possible to stay 2 to 3 years before looking at the price of bitcoin, not when the price of bitcoin is pasted everywhere, go to twitter, Instagram, Facebook, discord, telegram, you will find bitcoin price somewhere, the only way i think its possible to not look at the price of bitcoin for that long is to leave crypto completely, close all your crypto accounts, close your social media account, stop using a smart phone and lock your self out from accessing the internet ..
All this i believe is not possible to do because if you do it, how then are you going to be able to buy bitcoin?.

My mindset for Bitcoin in 2023 is aside from holding and continuing dollar cost average strategy I want to engage in more humanitarian work using Bitcoin. Presently I'm not even worried about the price all the future forecast of Bitcoin because I know it is going to be fine.
Therefore my mindset is to strive to be a part of Bitcoin funded community development projects in low middle-income countries all over the world. Nothing else will make me happy aside this.

I'm long term in bitcoin but that doesn't mean that I won't check the price from time to time. There's this thrilling feeling that I want to feel whenever I'm checking the price.

That's why my mindset might be the same as you but I am not limiting myself into checking the price of bitcoin. I find it essential to find myself positioned in a good situation currently and how I should react.

That's the common mindset actually, OP. You hold Bitcoin and forget about it, buy more when the prices allow you to do so or even discuss about your journey here in Bitcointalk forum. "Long-term" is different for everyone, as some might sell at some point due to various reasons of they might need money or so.

It kind of reminds me of myself keeping on refreshing Google result of price of Bitcoin every 5 minutes.

Most people seem very unhappy about the huge drop in the Bitcoin price in 2022. Do we forget that the huge drop give us the advantage to buy at the lowest price? Without the huge drop, we are impossible to expect huge profits in the next bullrun season. So, why to call "2022 isn't the year of Bitcoin"? For me, it is a good year for buying Bitcoin, it is a good year for everyone who is eager to invest in Bitcoin.

The best time to buy was in 2022, not the early of this year.
But if there are people who missed the opportunity to buy in 2022, it is not too late to buy now.  ;)

You are right and from the comments of many members of the forum on this thread adding their own details to the discussion I have realized that this is a common factor with many people here and as long-term bitcoin holders seem to get tired of looking at the market chart continuously.

Because even though the price may act rapidly in whatever direction it does not affect or influence on the Bitcoin open positions since we already have a long-term goal and that is what we based our sell decision on and not the price of bitcoin at a time.

people who think like you very much are investing in bitcoin for the long term. and of course everyone also has hopes for 2023, namely with the hope that in 2023 the price of bitcoin will continue to rise and hopefully the rise in btc that is experiencing now is not a trap. but in my opinion the increase in btc prices today is a positive sign for bitcoin.

I'm not that really confidence in Bitcoin for the year 2023. Since 2024 the bitcoin block halving. That's the year I am more excited.
I will not kill your confidence, but I am only confidence for the year 2023 is the last quarter of it or a few months before 2024 as the Bitcoin block halving is the most awaited event for me on Bitcoin.

Are you saying that you don't have confidence on Bitcoin? or maybe you can't get your eyes checking on the prices. In any case, as you stayed in this market, perhaps you will be immune to checking the prices regularly.

Just like the others here, we need more patience and be calm for this year. And look at the bright side or the long term.

Next year will be the block halvening, it's the catalyst for the next bull run and you should focus now on accumulating as much as you can.

if I am more confident in holding bitcoin, in 2023 or 2024 or so on, I am still confident to keep holding it until I get the profit that I have targeted in stages. there is nothing wrong in predicting, but we must remember that it can happen and our analysis is wrong, so we are not at the end of our hopes, by making a cut loss, because this is BTC which is the safest coin to invest. but indeed, if you look at the current market, it is green and gives us a little big hope, but what we don't know is that this phenomenon is a correction or the beginning of a revival

All the user of the forum really thinking on investing and Holding it for long term as bitcoin price is promising. Also my current mindset is that i would buy bitcoin even small and accumulate this overtime as long as i have extra money since we see the chart right now that it is breaking  its resistance and i am hoping it will break in this following days.

In a couple of years we will have passed another halving and Central Banks will be able to hold up to 2% of Bitcoin in their reserves.

That's going to be massive, 2025 will definitely be an exciting year for Bitcoin. And that's only a couple of years away.

My mindset is very similar to yours, I invest for the long term and don't worry about the short term price movement. I am not sure how often you used to trade and if you want to take a step back then not checking prices every few hours is a good idea. Every morning I check the bitcoin price to see how the market did in the last day, but this is only informative for me and I don't feel any urge to trade my coins. As long as the bitcoin price is not going back down to 1 USD everything is fine in my opinion. We are seeing a recovery in the market as people are more optimistic for 2023 than they were for 2022. For me the biggest factors is going to be the halving in 2024, before that price will rise again much higher. Anybody who missed out buying new coins around the 16,000 USD level can try and wait, hoping prices will go down again. But there is no real guarantee for bitcoins to drop below that level. I would recommend to buy some coins now and just forget about them for a year.

It's not just your mindset which matter, we have a lot of panicky weak hands in the world majority of which are outside this forum and hence you are a one man army and besides everyone single person has their own needs and expenditure which might need selling of held assets.

Also it is not a single year that should give you confidence for a bull market, it should be everyday and it is also a long term confidence. Remember that both bear and bull markets have their seperate importance and we must see both to become a seasoned trader.

While you can hold you must also sell at the bull market and trap the profit. :'(

Everyone who invests for the long term in bitcoin must almost have the same thought as you OP. However, everyone's accumulation method in buying bitcoin is of course different. Perhaps DCA has now become popular for long term investors to do. And combining with Averago Down when there is a decline will be more effective. Because the average purchase price will be cheaper.

And I'm pretty sure that those of us who have done DCA since bitcoin price in the 16k USD area would have the same smile today. But surely there are those of us who still expect Bitcoin to experience a correction first before continuing the bullish trend. i.e. those who want to buy more from the bottom price. But for users of the DCA strategy, they will remain comfortable at any price Bitcoin. because they only focus on routine purchases.

It is good that 2023 has eventually given you the confidence mindset towards Bitcoin but does this mean you never had confidence in BTCitcoin? A true believer of Bitcoin will even see the past year's Bear trend as the Biggest opportunity to have accumulated instead of waiting for it to gain about $7k+ from the seemingly bottom of $15k+ before seeing this opportunity which we could have taken advantage of back then and hope the next bear season is not going to be a downer again  ;) this said, BTCitcoin investors should always see the long term rather than the present market position.

All what happened in 2022 was expected, Bitcoin bull market peaked in 2021 and usually what follows the peak of Bitcoin is a huge dump all through the year and it happens two years after the Bitcoin halving. If you look back at history, same thing happened in 2018. Immediate the deceased in price started happening, it was obvious we're on a bear market but many moon boys didn't believe and that's why they were left in disbelieve.
To understand Bitcoin price movement, just study its history as all that's happening now have happened before. Bitcoin basically repeat itself every four years cycle.
2023 will be a repeat of what 2019 was, if you're new to the market, go study what happened with the price of Bitcoin with in that year and you can stay ahead of others in the market and take good position whether to sell and wait to buy or buy more and hold.

It is good you have made up your mind to accomplishing such task as you  have set for yourself. Holding for a long time is a good decision for which I commend you for that. Not every one can be able to hold and not look at bitcoin price for a day. Looking at bitcoin price is now an addiction for some people as they can not do without it for a while but traders are not exempted from this because they would need to constantly be looking at the price from time to time so as not to miss out from the market at any point in time.
I do not think I can be able to stay a day without having a view of the bitcoin price in knowing whether it is doing fine or not. I am not just comfortable with it.

What you have in your mind is different from other. When we come the price and prediction of BTC, everyone has their own view on the subject matter. OP your mindset in the subject matter of 2023 I'd different from the content of hodling 2-3 years. Therefore from the way see at it you don't have any mindset in 2023 but your mindset is for hodling for a long period of time/long years.

As for me, my mindset in 2023 is still to hodle it till to see the peak of the whole matter of the ALL TIME HIGH (ATH).  And that might be in the year 2024 to 2025. This year 2023, bitcoin will not be bad as last year.
