Title: What makes a crypto project reliable and trustworthy ?
Post by: Marcellin9 on January 30, 2023, 06:15:08 AM
Bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrency and most altcoins are way less qualified in terms of credibility, fanbase, high returns with minimal risks etc. I am trying my best to analyze altcoin projects but the results are not pleasant. What makes an altcoin really trustworthy ? And why ? Please let me know your opinions.

No asset is trustworthy, in short.

Depends on upon what your objective is, whether to make profits in short term or in long term or just to support the project without looking at gains.

To check a project's trust worth, verify its team members and their background. Check the project's vision and evaluate whether it is feasible in real life and whether it has a market of it's own. Then see whether the concept actually solves the problem and also if its the first of its kind.

Still then you will see that good projects fail easily in the next one year and you cannot do anything about it. Altcoins are like that only.

The most simple thing to know if the project are reliable and trustworthy is depends on the protocol, it must be decentralized and able to trade without centralized exchange.

Decentralized make your coin can't get frozen, controlled and manipulated since you don't have to trust anyone including the CEO. It will be different if the coin is centralized, you must trust the CEO and hope he wouldn't rug pull his own project.

Government always tightening their rules and it's need KYC to trade in centralized exchange, the worst thing is the exchange can freeze your account and confiscate your funds. If you trade on decentralized exchange or non custodial P2P platform, your coin will be 100% safe.

But you need to know 99% coins are centralized, only 1% or less are 100% decentralized.

You just don't have to spend time analyzing coins other than Bitcoin. All of them, sooner or later, almost always turn into dust. Are there any new and unique projects? This is a rewriting in your own words of other people's ideas, which also does not succeed. Read their roadmap, learn about their developers' experiences, and everything The Ultra Elite has already said will be your experience. I agree that some people benefit from alternative coins that can provide them with an increase. But this requires understanding, and a lot of people most often lose by not taking anything from their experience. As a result, the value of your time is only as great as your desire to spend it.

First things.

What factor you taken for the research? IMO, each of the product/alt-coin have their own fundamental. Comparing to "Bitcoin" is really a big gap for them, why? because "Bitcoin" the first digital asset who have a big trust from the community.

And it's started not easy as looks like, need take us so many tragedy and problem to archive this day.

Look which problem is going to solove by the project.

For example take a look at Bitcoin. Why people still say BTC is king? Because it's soloved main problem that were in our society long. That is freedom for your money. Like that first you need to find out what problem that is going to solove by the project first. If it's good, if it's long lasting, If it's can gamechanger then you are good to go.

And what then to spend time in the study of cryptocurrencies? Buy bitcoin for $20,000 and forget about it for a few years until its price rises.Soon there will be regulation from the SEC, and most of the cryptocurrency projects will be closed, but some projects, like Ethereum, Polkadot, Atom, should work on the market, because many financial companies will work in these ecosystems, which will tokenize their assets.

You can't fully trust any project even Bitcoin because this market is very volatile and anything can happen.
Don't look on where you can trust for long term, try to look for the opportunity on making money and you'll see a lot with the altcoins market. This market offers a lot of opportunities, don't settle with your emotion and just follow the trend, making profit should be your top priority, don't get too attached with any project for your own safety.

Altcoins and their future are still a wild guess. STOs or regulated and audited projects were thought to be less risky but these low risk low profit projects too failed miserably. Something as stupid as Shiba Inu that airdropped more than 50% of it's the than supply to vitalik buterin (single person unrelated to the project) got unprecedented success, survived through multiple pumps and dumps and still going strong as a popular altcoin makes me believe there are almost zero logic on altcoins future prediction. The only thing that depends on the long run is how active the project manager or volunteers are on the development and progress.

most of those who claim new projects are not currently new projects. they just come by expanding on existing ones. even just copying and changing the name, conceptually and in the application, everything can be the same. and they will inevitably give birth to more shitcoins that won't last long once they are traded in the market.

the only reason to look for a good altcoin project is to see who developed the project. when he is a seasoned person, in the sense that he is not new to the crypto world. maybe we can consider it. although there are still many aspects to consider.

Almost every project in the crypto space can pull a scam on you. You just have to get a fair share of the pie and get as much profit as you can from them then you can bail out. There's really no telling whether a project is trustworthy or not. You'll never know if they have reached their goal and can begin scamming people just because. The key is, don't ever stay in one project for a long time. Diversify, get profits, bail out.

In my opinion, after hundreds of thousands of altcoin projects had failed and wiped out naive investors' money, there will be no point of trying out new projects. This leads me to keep investing only within known and long running projects. So, if you look for a reliable and trustworthy projects then follow any old coin and if that keeps pumping at regular interval then that can be added into your portfolio. This is just another trick and cannot be a 100% guaranteed one.

The most simple thing to know if the project are reliable and trustworthy is depends on the protocol, it must be decentralized and able to trade without centralized exchange.
But, I have seen many project with zero pre-mine and following all other decentralized rules got failed as well. In my understanding, being decentralized got nothing to do with your investment.

When the altcoin gives you security.
First and foremost, it's always the price that will provide you with security but most of all if you bought thousands of this altcoin at such a very minimum price for less than $10 and then the current price is more than $1000. ETH and BNB are examples of these.  It will give you the security that you keep earning when you are staking a lot of it.

When it's comes to cryptocurrency assets, I personally won't subscribe to the fact that any of them is trustworthy. The rate of volatility and unpredictability of the market and the assets is enough to believe that there's no trust in the cryptocurrency space. I'll prefer to subscribe to the fact that the industry as well as the crypto assets are innovative and evolving.

Mind you that if you are actually doing your research into which altcoins are very good, you're prolly doing what's synonymous to looking for a needle in a haystack, altcoins are short term projects, and you definitely cannot classify most of them as being reliable or trustworthy.

Having said that, a project should have an actual utility, like Bitcoin, that is what makes it stand out amongst all other cryptocurrencies, make sure it doesn't have a fake utility or hyped up promises like most altcoins. You wouldn't also want to buy a coin that is centrally controlled by some individuals/whales who can manipulate the price of the coin in any direction they so choose, that's another reason why a decentralized coin like Bitcoin is a no-brainer for most crypto enthusiast. Well DYOR is the only way to be sure of what you're doing and to be confident in your decision.

We should learn now that not all projects are legit, some projects maybe relible at first but later on became greedy and tends to be a scam project. I learn not to hold on too much into my altcoins as some of them losses already their value and some projects seems to have no update after their successful funding. What is best in crypto is that we can trade them as long we’re getting profit on it, but holding on into it might not be a good decision. It can be fine in bitcoin to hold and wait but in altcoins it takes more risk and lose not trading it for long.

It's fantastic that you want to learn more about crypto currencies in order to determine which ones can be trusted. When trying to determine whether or not an alternative cryptocurrency can be trusted, there are a few things to keep in mind. One important factor in an altcoin's success is the expertise and dedication of the people behind the project. As a corollary, the altcoin's use case and practical relevance are also critical considerations. Success is more likely for an alternative cryptocurrency if it offers a practical solution to an existing issue or fills a need in the current market.

One must also consider the altcoin's underlying technology and evaluate it against similar currencies. Are there substantial network effects or collaborations that will assist propel the altcoin's adoption and value? Is the group of people working on and using it robust? When deciding whether or not to invest in an alternative cryptocurrency, these are all crucial questions to ask. In the end, it is crucial to do your homework on the cryptocurrency and fully comprehend it before putting your money into it, and to always diversify your investments to lessen the blow of any potential losses.

There are numerous altcoins in the crypto market, among them all are not legit and very few projects are well established. However, there is no guarantee in Crypto, a good project can be broken within only 1 day as it happened in the case of FTX or Luna. There are usually some coins or projects that attract investors whether the project is good or bad will depend on their experience, skill and by making their products . If the team possesses honesty and devoted characters, then any project can do well. However, some things must be taken care. For developing a project financial transparency and skill and experience must be compulsory for the success of the project.

If dev team follows regulations and is active, committed, transparent and smart and does answer hard questions. That's a good starting point.

However even if you can trust the team you can't always trust the project. It could fail for several reasons. One of many is that superior tech comes and makes the project completely irrelevant, yet the team keeps on building it even if they know it's doomed because they have money left to spend.

But i would start from fundamentals, find if there is a realistic use case, check competition if any and if they have a better solution, and finally go and deep dive the team and check that there are coders in charge and no pointless advisors or business CEOs or advertising team what have no idea what crypto even is.

You are thinking this on the wrong way, trustworthiness has a range, which can go from not trust at all to be given to being trustworthy and anything in between, and as you may guess most altcoins do not pass even the slightly scrutiny as they copy and pasted some part of their website or whitepaper, the developers lie about their identities, their token economics are wrong, they censor any kind of criticism to their project or they do many other things that are a red flags when you think about it, so it is not surprising you are getting such dismal results.

Trustworthy to deal with? Well it should be depend on the team, their product or services and their market exposure.
I guess, in dealing with crypto you should not get too attached to it especially if you are a trader because you are too focus with the price trend and not with the fundamentals. You can just see this at the top coins but of course there is always risk and you cannot avoid this even if you trusted that project so always look at the reality and see its current trend to know if you are going to buy or not.

I think the reason why they are "wild" guess is that we do not have enough data about them most of the time. Usually it is from people we don't know (even if they are not anonymous, we don't know them) and we don't know if they are capable of doing it, or will they scam, even if not scam maybe just fail etc etc.

There are too many things that are unknown about most projects and that is why we do not have any clue what is going to happen. This is even worse for new ones, because older ones at least showed something, new ones didn't had time for that neither. So all in all, this is definitely something that I can't agree with and that is why it is a lot more important.

Trustworthy altcoins have their own blockchain and constant demand for the blockchain space, and mainnet constantly uses that altcoin. These are the kinds of altcoins that are most trustworthy. They have a product, they have utility and they have tremendous support among users, developers and miners. The other altcoins are not trustworthy, at least not enough to keep such coins in your wallet for several years.

Appreciate your point of view as more of a trader. A great dev team, a solid product, readily available services and market exposure are the essentials to make an altcoin trustworthy and successful but they are not enough if we act as a trader. I like your attitude that we should not get too attached to altcoin or anything in general because this helps with our own benefits and life in general. Always knowing when to get in and out is crucially important to everyone.

A project with a decentralized protocol is truly not controlled by others. You have complete autonomy, but the project party does not know where to go, and the tokens of this agreement are meaningless. There is no value left. It is the most reliable if you want Satoshi Nakamoto to create Bitcoin. There is only one reason, everyone's consensus is indestructible.

Let's see what this project can bring us besides making money. Sometimes I invest by looking at time and price trends. I think the most important thing for everyone in the encryption market is to make money. It is really important to choose a good project. Don't just look at what the MLM says is so good. Be sure to do detailed research before investing.

But, I have seen many project with zero pre-mine and following all other decentralized rules got failed as well. In my understanding, being decentralized got nothing to do with your investment.
There are a lot fake decentralized and less decentralized project, that's make the coin is useless and not successful, also they're not open source and not giving a way to verify their protocol. Monero is the best altcoin until now, it's another project which is has a purpose for privacy and decentralized. As you can see there are a lot privacy coins comes up, but they're offer less privacy unlike Monero.

A project with a decentralized protocol is truly not controlled by others. It means, there's no need to create new coins if Bitcoin is still become the best crypto in terms of decentralization. I don't see any reason why people keep creating new coins except the sole purpose is to make money.

Strong technical support, professional team. Pay more attention to details, I am a very detail-oriented person. I will look at their transactions, as well as various enthusiasm. I think a good project popularity is very important. And you must have a sufficient fan base before your project can be maintained normally. Any investment is risky. Most people will not be "first person". So fan base is very important.

When I try to pick reliable and trustworthy altcoin I first check official website to read Whitepaper. Whitepaper can give fruitful information and also whitepaper shows if project is serious or not in my opinion. After that I check allocation of altcoin. I mean how its gonna be mined or how many altcoins are reserved/secured for developers. In short I look for legitimacy. If its legit altcoin I may invest in good exchanges.

Back in the day when I took the time to look for altcoins with good potential, instead of going straight to reading their white paper or anything like that I first looked for signs the coin was a scam, things like their website or white paper being copy and pasted, fake profiles, no profiles for the developers, impossible road map, impossible promises or a centralized coin was more than enough for me to discard the altcoin, and unfortunately this eliminated the majority of the coins on the market as many presented several of those warning signs.

It's already difficult now because even if you say "Market cap is the basis" there are still lot of altcoins that even how their market cap is high, at the end of the day there are still issues from them or some of them turned into scams.
For altcoin, I really don't trust altcoins these days besides Ethereum, Ethereum is still here since day 1 and Ethereum maintained it's top 2 as the highest market cap.
For me, what altcoins make really trustworthy is market cap + total value locked, especially on Ethereum's Defi platforms, there is a lot of money running on Ethereum, and most are on DeFi platforms and NFTs.

First of all i don't think that Bitcoin is really the king in all of those parameters that you have listed. I mean in terms of the fanbase size and the lowest risk that is probably true but i am not so sure about credibility and high returns. First of all the founder of Bitcoin is still not known to this day, so that there are more credible altcoins out there with big and public teams behind them.
In terms of possible high returns i would also say that most of the big altcoins have a higher potential to grow than Bitcoin itself. The reason for that is quite simple. Bitcoin already has made  x20000 or even more for very early investors. So to do another x10 or even a x100 from here on would be a huge increase in marketcap.

If we ask how? We have to put those things to the project developers. Maybe having strict crypto regulations could somewhat help to improve the credibility of the incoming projects but this won't give us assurance to have a safe investment. That is why I don't encourage people to invest in new projects for they have been known as scams and worthless projects. In fact, we already have Bitcoin and ETH, and we know their profitability, so I think we don't need to look for another project if we know that we can't find legit and trusted coins.

Alcoins are not trustworthy and infact nothing is trustworthy. But if you are asking how to know a project that is worthy to be invested in. Try to read their whitepaper or road map and if it interests you, try to know if they are following what is in the road map and then if yes, you may join the team.
Don't forget to know the group of developers behind the project, if they are sincere and ready to work. Not involving in pumping and dumping of the project

"(1) the crypto project can’t provide clear documentation regarding how it works or how it plans to delivers on its goals; (2) the project can’t demonstrate that it's in regulatory compliance; and (3) the project can’t easily explain what it is at all" - https://sports.yahoo.com/sec-chair-gary-gensler-says-224932712.html

I almost want to say nothing even when the project itself is developed by developers who are said to be trusted they can still end badly, why because altcoins are always centralized where developers have a large portion of ownership and this is one of the opportunities for them to run away from the project after selling all the coins it has, so it's hard to be able to trust which altcoins can be trusted because the online world is a difficult place to find people who can be trusted.

I hope we could be a part of the making of the project and let us speak or assess their projects before launching so we can assure that it can be trusted. But unfortunately, it was not like that, they have their own agenda and the credibility of the said projects certainly lies in the hands of the developers. We wanted to change how it works but that seems impossible. It is just to say that the only thing we can do for now in order to avoid investing in scam projects is to stay away from hyped projects and those who have no working products.

It plays to the point that the developers are trustworthy and it's just all about them first and then the project that they're working with. If those deliverables and proposals are achievable and factual.
And going to the project, one of the most important thing with it is about the use case. If no use case then that only means that the developers aren't serious with what they're working with because that's what a project's token should be. There has to be a use on it.

There are many things to look at, do they have a unique utility, is the platform not a copy from other platforms including the whitepaper, do they have a real team with real skill and capability, are they willing to do AMA, it's not enough that they have a compelling description of their project, scammers are good in creating hype on their project.
The real project does not hype its project, they want steady growth and they want a stable and strong community that is willing to support them until they launch its platform.

Always research the team behind it first. That's the best you could do to check whether they will continue their project or not. Someone who has a reputation for whatever service they are providing.
An example would be Gala Games which has the head of EA Sports gaming development.
They are focusing on games so it would be best to have someone like him in their midst. Connect the dots. It's not like a gaming developer would be in a project in an exchange service or other non-related to it.
I think that's one of the most important parts of examining the legitimacy of a certain project. The rest will follow. I've already experienced a lot of rug pulls on the NFT days, and that's because of not checking that side of the project. Joined the hype and it's a failure.

Support I guess. The extent of how a project  address problems is what would make it trustworthy. Loopholes and flaws of a project is clearly normal. There will always be a room for improvement IF the project itself would initiate to do so. But if a project would choose image over existing issues, that would be the time, for me, to doubt their progress on a long run. Many projects could offer huge rewards and other promises but if it would not compensate overall progress of the platform or project in the making, then that would be a bad thing which could push away the interest of meticulous investors in this industry.

Not all projects with a great team can continue. I already saw a couple of it who fail but I am not saying that we shouldn't follow this method anymore. This was still better than not doing a research at all and even those legit projects fail in the future, at least we already earn a decent income with them from the start and on the middle of their run.

A collapsing project can still be safely abandoned as long as one is vigilant with his investments. This is something that is not possible if you invest in a scam project because before you make a move, they are already gone. That's because they ensure that they are the ones who can only earn.

There are many factors such as the project team, the project concept, partners, support and the plans they proposed to the public. From all of these factors, I weigh project partners the heaviest. Those partners are not easy to get especially those big ones who are already established and has a reputation to offer. Those partners surely did their homework researching about the team background and project future projection before they join as partners. So most of the time all you need to do is to do a basic research about the project. Though not all of it is running successful even those high caliber partnership tend to fail. It will make it easy for you to filter out those shtty project than those who has potential that's why I value team with high caliber partnerships.

I see the other members have mentioned many factors. I want to add an important point I used to follow before I decide whether I will invest in a project or not, which is the development activity. This important factor can show if the developers are serious about developing what they intend to achieve, or just want to ride the hype wave to sell their coin to the crowd. Now, as we are in a bear market, this factor can really determine the seriousness of a project.

Probably have some criteria to consider if the altcoin is trustworthy or not. But, the problem is even if the altcoins meet the criteria, it doesn't guarantee that they re really trustworthy. Because sometimes, there will be any FUD about them and it will cause them to crash easily in a very short time. I ever trusted top coins, but what happened to Luna and FTX especially really broke the trust and consider that altcoins always give high risks whatever the coin. Even if it is BNB or Ethereum, they also still have a higher risk than Bitcoin. That is why, if choosing altcoin for investment, I will not be using it for a long-term period because of the high risk. This will be for the short term with certain conditions that I must always consider.

Trick question, pretty much none of them are once ypu break them all down.  Once something gets too big there is a sense of scam in the air.  Greed makes people do wierd things.  What I mean is that projects can start with good intentions, but if they are really that good and become big the money will alter the project inherently.

the team itself I guess, you could always check history of the team and decide, also their tokenomics also just as important because it could decides whether this project has potential or not because honestly coins with shitty tokenomics will always doomed to fail, no one gonna invest knowing the tokenomics engineered to be fruitful for the team and leaves no room for investments and that will be holding its value from growing.
but I'd say finding out the team behind the project is always essential.

Nothing beats out Bitcoin into its place and its understandable on why its been sitting on the top of the chain.Speaking about top altcoins then you could consider them to be trustworthy and credible.

They wont be sitting behind or below bitcoin for no reason. You might be having some bad results into altcoins but pretty sure that you are might be able to deal with those hyped and shilled out ones
or really touching up those low caps? Am i right?.

What makes me that confident on investing on altcoins projects is that i do see their real use case or utility plus having those updates and following up their roadmaps.

To be fair, we do not know everyone in the crypto world, which means that the team could be people who are amazing at what they do or could be people who have no idea about it and we would still not have any clue why and how it would do good.

This is mainly because if someone tells you "X person is leading the team", if you do not know that X person, then you have no idea if the team is any good or not, you could look at their linkedin and hope that it says something, but it rarely does because even if you worked at the best places, you could be a moron as well, I have seen plenty of moron Google workers too, doesn't mean they will be smart, there is a reason why they no longer work there.

Not all because I can see that some projects are run by good developers and a strong team like Tera Luna but in the long run, it turns scam.
The only thing I can see that I project is trustworthy is when it possesses a long-term plan as in this way they already have the things to do. Because a project will survive if they have a concrete plan and if they look for the welfare of everyone, not just for the company itself.
It was very unfortunate that most of the new projects today have been governed by greed, which is why they will never stay long in the market but collapse.

Tera Luna has failed due to mismanagement so we can't say that their developers are reliable. Nowadays, only well-established projects are reliable. Coins that have gone through different market situations and deal with all types of seasons.
I must say that top coins are better to trust. They have good developers and their innovation is continuous. Coins with a good foundation are better to rely on. Those with a concrete plan and strong foundation could stand firm and will always gain the trust of their users.

Yess. i think those are the important factors that create investment confidence whether short-term or long-term.  I think that's one more thing about the product - it has to have a structure that can grow, change, optimize continuously, the free market decides the use of the product, no one will use the platform of the product.  product, protocol that nothing attractive, good for them.  In my opinion, ETNY is a viable project in terms of reliability, it is very new but it is not an investment incentive

What you are saying is true but at the same time was not Luna one of the coins in which the community had its trust and it failed dramatically? So in my opinion even if we trust a coin we must never let that trust blind us, if we see anything wrong with it then we need to get out of it as soon as we can as a way to protect ourselves and our capital, because as we have seen with Luna and many other coins before if you get caught when the project fails you will lose everything without any opportunity of ever getting it back.

Well, a promising team, commnuity and utility are not guarantees to the reliability of any crypto project but there is a higher probability to sucess if any project owns these characteristics. You said you are still holding some altcoins now even though you had all these doubts in the beginning. Why ? Because back then, once you made up your mind to invest in altcoins, all things you had to refer to were just the Whitepaper, dev team or some use case that project may apply to. Based on what you saw and believe, you finally made the decision to invest. See my point here ? The whole process was natural and flawless and we can not deny this. Unfortunately most crypto projects failed eventually because somewhere in the process, something went wrong and nobody realized this. My question might need some correction that even a seemingly reliable and trustworthy project does not guarantee any positive outcome eventually.

If their developers came from a known social media site like Telegram or Meta, that would be their one ticket to be legit, and they surely not gonna scam people with their names on the line. That's why when Telegram announce it will gonna sell its own altcoin, it almost sold out not too long ago but the SEC hunts them before they can even make a move. This is one of the ways to know if altcoins are reliable because some of those altcoins that came from unanimous developers often became shit coins in months and became a pump-and-dump scam.

Many factors determine the value and reliability of an altcoin project. Starting from quality, team, community, goals, roadmap, functions, development, and many more values to determine whether an altcoin is good or not. You can do your own research on that.

However, when you get all of that, and you find an altcoin that fits your criteria, it's not necessarily a great result. we know that competition from new altcoins is fierce. sometimes new altcoins function worse than existing altcoins. when the altcoin doesn't really appeal to investors, then you can be sure that you might end up with unsatisfactory results. maybe you get a very cheap price for the altcoin price, or the project is abandoned. However, research is carried out continuously, and gradually. so you can know the potential that can happen to the altcoin in the near future. You know, many new projects from altcoins initially gave great trust, but due to some problems, they sometimes leave the project.

To trust in a project must have solid Fundamentals that's for sure, but when it comes to crypto projects to be trusted is because it has a team, developers and future use cases that's clear. Apart from that, it is also important to see that crypto has many exchanges or is available on many markets. I think like that

Every day there are huge projects that get into th forum, but the problem is only 10 percent of that projects are real and trusted ones. Mostly we should follow the old trader's advice regarding background checks. We should use some time to check the full background check of each owner and worker involved in the project. The real project will be connected with the real profile and real people.

The remaining scam project uses profiles from other social media. They used Facebook, and Twitter to get the profile of foreigners and accused them as the real owners of the project. It should be captured only by the way of finding a fake profile engaged in the project scam. Then you can save your money to get into the scam project and use the money for a trusted project like bitcoin, Ethereum, ADA, and SOL. Always remember that bitcoin is the king of the crypto market.

First, you have to read the whitepaper of the crypto project. Then you can do the fundamental analysis for the project. After that, you will get an idea about the project's long time value. The next point is you have to do the on-chain and off-chain analysis for the project.  Then you will get an idea about all the on-chain volumes and transactions.

1. Do the fundamental Analysis
2. Do the on-chain Analysis
3. Do the off-chain Analysis.

If the above analysis is completed, then you can do the technical analysis as well.

All of them, sooner or later, almost always turn into dust.
Will you say that about Ethereum too? Even if we don't trust any other coin, I don't think ETH deserves the lashing others get. I've said somewhere sometime that if Bitcoin had the ability of the smart contract ETH has that has actually developed this industry by allowing many projects to be birthed on its chain, its price would've soared way more than what we've now.
For me, ETH isn't just any other coin. It's a major player too like Bitcoin.

Shared your view. ETH is definitely more than an altcoin. It's becoming an enormously powerful and stable blockchain on which many new innovative technologies can experiment. If ETH collapsed, that would mean half of crypto users lose their faith and their whole value system vanishes. Endless attacks would come from the traditional industries and that'd probably destroy all achievements that the crypto users have built. The Bitcoin is not alone and should not be a King without a Queen or capable Generals.

For now ETH is kinda strong but I am still sceptical about its future so maybe yes, ETH can also end up like that but I have no doubts about BTC. As long the earth is still there then only us can turn into a dust but not a physical thing or currency like BTC which is the most trusted and useful crypto. If in case BTC has the ability like ETH have which is to create a smart contract then I do not think ETH and other altcoins will exist.

BTC would have even become a powerful crypto. I am not sure if a volatile crypto can be called as reliable because of their unstable price but there are trustworthy cryptos whose value can always recover after every dump.

To be fair, we do not know everyone in the crypto world, which means that the team could be people who are amazing at what they do or could be people who have no idea about it and we would still not have any clue why and how it would do good...

But if I saw such famous people as Vitalik Buterin or Gavin Wood among the team members and I had the opportunity to invest in such a project at an early stage, then I wouldn't even read a Whitepaper)) But usually we have to see anonymous team members who justify this by saying that Satoshi Nakamoto also hid his real name.

Sorry, I can't help laughing. Yes, it is funny when someone anonymous says Satoshi Nakamoto also hid his real name because comparing themselves with Satoshi sounds like a strong tone of scammers. What is the point of hiding their real names if they are really working on an authentic project ? I think most people wouldn't blame them even if the project failed eventually after endless efforts. The thing of trying to hide something in the beginning is very much suspicious.

Bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrency and most altcoins are way less qualified in terms of credibility, fanbase, high returns with minimal risks etc. I am trying my best to analyze altcoin projects but the results are not pleasant. When talking about altcoin , there are no concrete idea of how we could find a legit or trustworthy project though we are tend to believe that there are a possible big reutrns.
altcoin is fall of risk and that is not a fact but reality so better to check your project wisely as even those who are being promoted by big people sometimes end up not progressing on the top.
find your risk and invest only what you can afford to lose.

There is one case in which I would allow for the developers to be anonymous and that is if they are developing privacy coins, over the years governments have tried to break those coins and to impose them way harsher regulations as the privacy they offer is way better than what you can get with bitcoin, and it would not surprise me if the developers of those coins were at some point prosecuted, but other than that any developer which hides their identity is to me a clear sign to stay away from their coin.

Those who seek assurance cab focus on coins that have been running activities for a long time. Those who have a bigger community and have dealt with the ups and downs of the market. I would say that some of the top coins can perform better and will be more reliable. It's hard to rely on new projects nowadays so focusing on old and trusted coins will be wiser.

I am not sure...your point really makes sense but there might be some possibilities that some dev teams hide their identify for appropriate reasons. In general, those who are aggressive in marketing but fail in delivery are extremely suspicous. I would just wait and observe their roadmap and relevant outcome before I give my trust. It's never wrong to be too careful.

Aggressive marketing via bot like accounts on social media is another red flag. Failing to deliver is one thing and failing to develop anything is another. You must try to verify the team's identity on linkedin and social media. Text the advisors as listed and try to engage them into what they feel about the project, you might get a better idea but in many cases they will not respond, in which case you have to assume the worst.

Often advisors have a lock in period after which they will suddenly dump on the open market driving the price to such lows that it cannot recover back - this has often happened with many projects and the sad part is that we honest investors are the ones who must suffer this.

Going through all these points, I am sure most old times will accept that buying bitcoin is way less anxiety inducing and profitable than newly launched altcoin projects.

good reputation from the devs and the fact that they always delivers, it doesn't need to be complicated to make project trustworthy.
it's just the good will from the devs in their effort of building their project because we could judge whether the devs actually willing or just try to money grabbing.

I think you are referring to a new projects or new altcoins, you will know if that altcoins is trust worthy when the team behind it has already a past successful project, trust is really important if the altcoins listed on a big exchange like binance and kucoin etc., Then that altcoins is trust worthy, there are a lot of rug pull projects specially during a bear season most of the project will not succeed if it is held during bear season because only few investors invest during that time and it is very hard to collect funds from ICO so it end up to failure so i prefer investing or buying old coin that has a good trust record for good.

If team behind it had a successful project, then why are they doing another one? I can tell you one reason, it wasn't the whole team. Like for example CTO of a great project leaves and builds a new thing, that doesn't mean the new thing will be good, maybe it was the CEO that made the previous one good, maybe it was CMO, maybe CFO? Maybe CTO wasn't that important at all and others saved him? We wouldn't know until we see the results.

This is why there is no way we can say a brand new project is reliable and trustworthy, all of them are unreliable and shouldn't be trusted until they proven otherwise. This is our money we are talking about, we can't go with "trustworthy until proven otherwise", because that would cause us losses.

Stick with this and if you do see that it is something that realistic and achievable then i would definitely be testing it out to make some investment on it.It might not be that precise nor really successful most of the time but this is where i do make money the most. The main challenge would be experiencing out of this situation is that on how you would be finding out these gems?

Finding one would really be that pain in the ass.If you do check around on how many project launches on day to day basis then you would really be that thinking
that it is really that a tiring thing to make up search every each of them.  :D

I think in this case some of you have mentioned but we still need more indicators to see whether a project can be trusted or not to put our money into the project, apart from credibility and a large community of people, product utility and product ecosystem and the clarity of the project product itself must be able to understand what it means and how it works. In fact, there are still a lot of indicators to see if a crypto project is feasible or not. We can look at its development from month to month or year to year to convince you of the extent to which the developers project are serious about working on it and see the strengths and weaknesses.

For me I will say that new project is trustworthy and good for invest is the review of one past investors it because even if the team behind that project was have a successful project in the past because not all the time that they have a successful project last year or more then now they will be a successful. Because sometime we have our unlucky moment and if that happen then for sure the opposite of success will be in the finish line.

Actually it can be a risk if you really feel you are observant enough to look at it, but indeed the problem is to find a good project we obviously need time to find and I still feel it is quite a waste of time so it would be better if I wasn't in it that matter.
I prefer to be in something that is certain even though the risk is definitely there but for altcoins that are certain at least this can still be minimized regarding losses.

Don't be a benchmark for following past investors because we also have to be able to analyze every project that will be invested at the beginning, this is indeed difficult to determine but by doing my research we will rely more than relying on other people so the new project will not be entirely successful even though they have a good roadmap but it also depends on how the community reacts to their project.
I myself sometimes get stuck in projects that I think are good, but there are other projects that are thought to be bad so they turn out to be good in the future and that is what we have to understand.

I understand how difficult it is to find altcoin projects that actually have decent potential. because most altcoin projects are always made to be raised and discarded after the maker makes a big profit. But still, out of all the altcoin projects there will always be projects that are really good and have good utilities and good fundamentals. usually these projects are made by people who have a good reputation in the crypto industry or at least have extensive knowledge and many achievements in the field of technology. so their project also has a reliable team. both in design and in marketing. so the first thing I always look for in an altcoin project is to find out who is behind the altcoin project.

In terms of projects, I don't think that luck should be associated with their success. That's what I think and believe that everything should be worked out and they have to do it based on what they're conducting by working on that project.
But we as individuals, I think we tend to believe with luck when we invest on a project that suddenly made us interested on buying it.

This is not a bad idea, just make sure they are who they say they are, as it is not rare for scammers to impersonate famous developers and attract investors this way, but then it is discovered this is not the case and anyone that already sent them their coins has no recourse to get them back as those scammers disappear shortly after they are discovered, so caution should always be a priority when dealing with a new coin, however if after you make your due diligence you find out everything is fine then you can invest some money in that project if you want.

We all have our ways on what we do either on investing in a project or other things. We sometimes did have our unlucky moments as what shamm posted and it doesn't mean that it is because of the project's luck that we didn't earn profit. I can only say that a project is trustworthy if it continues to exist after it is launched rather than turning into dust.

Nothing wrong with seeking luck but this is should not be our practice, it is good to practice investing in projects that are really profitable and we know it can happen. Because we can't just rely on luck here, even though we are a newbie must not think about it but rather improve our knowledge and skills to determine what is a good project and what is a worthless one. Otherwise, we are just investing like gambling and the chances are slim - 50/50. I think we can't afford to have that chance of winning or losing because what we want is to earn.

That's right, No successful investor or trader is rely on on their lack in majority of the time. I'm sure that luck affects them on the things they do but I'm sure that before they executing their moves, They have planned and studied their move for it to be precise and make it near their goals. I will just gamble if that is the case, I know that I have more confidence in doing gambling than risking it on a 50/50 chance.

I definitely agree with you there but I am not talking about seeking luck as a practice in investing projects but about our luck in investment. I am not an expert in choosing a project to invest when I start learning about crypto currency and I did not have that kind of practice where I base my investment in luck rather than doing research myself to know which project I should invest and earn profit. I did it before which I did earn profit and I was thinking that I am not that lucky or in short not my very lucky moments. That's what I mean and not about using luck in investment.

That's right, No successful investor or trader is rely on on their lack in majority of the time. You just repeat the statement that it is much like gambling if you are investing relying on luck. Once again, my previous post is not about relying on luck but about how lucky you are in investing, not about your practice in relying on luck when investing. You can say it like your level of luck in the field of investment like Luck level 1-10 for example if you didn't get my point. I say you missed my point there and once again, not about relying on luck when investing.

There's nothing wrong with that but I'm telling about the perspective of running a project, and the developers that are running the projects. Their success relies on how hard working they are and effective the project they're working on is.
It's true that unlucky moments comes to us and that's giving us some bad beats vibes that we think the project itself isn't the one that we should have invested. And from that experience, we're learning a lesson on how to invest properly and ends up with some good upgrade for each individuals like us.

In terms of projects, I don't think that luck should be associated with their success.

In every success there is always a variable factor and it is greatly affected by luck.  Yes success can be predetermined with planning and studying several factors but as i said, there is always a variable factor that is way out of our hands.  So luck can be associated with success on this field.

That's what I think and believe that everything should be worked out and they have to do it based on what they're conducting by working on that project.
But we as individuals, I think we tend to believe with luck when we invest on a project that suddenly made us interested on buying it.

I agree, everything should be planned out and worked out.  Success will not come if we are only waiting, we have to work for it to happen.  So for a project to be successful, the developer must thrive hard and do their best to deliver roadmap at its finest and not just a half-baked one in order to increase their chance of success in the market.

Investors on the other hand can do their research and plan according to what the discovered.  If they are lucky enough that the project developers are serious of developing their project then I can say, the end road will be a successful one.

What makes an altcoin really trustworthy ? And why ? Please let me know your opinions.
When talking about altcoin , there are no concrete idea of how we could find a legit or trustworthy project though we are tend to believe that there are a possible big reutrns.
altcoin is a fall of risk and that is not a fact but a reality so better to check your project wisely as even those who are being promoted by big people sometimes end up not progressing to the top.
find your risk and invest only what you can afford to lose.

Those who seek assurance cab focus on coins that have been running activities for a long time. Those who have a bigger community and have dealt with the ups and downs of the market. I would say that some of the top coins can perform better and will be more reliable. It's hard to rely on new projects nowadays so focusing on old and trusted coins will be wiser.
actually XRP had been running long but eventually experienced dump because of the case filed against them , and also NEO that once being on top but now? it drops badly and the later one is Litecoin , after the selling  happened or the change of management ? we seen how bad they are acting now .
but of course it is indeed one of the best way to trust aside from bitcoin those coin long running currencies are good.

Investment is for profit, if you want safe and reliable, then choose bitcoin, no need to choose useless old altcoins. Investing in altcoins is with the expectation of earning a higher return than bitcoin, so old coins that have been dumped and are no longer of much interest to the community are better off getting rid of them. Investing in altcoins is inherently risky, so we need to get the reward worth it, I would invest in potential new projects rather than old ones.

In terms of projects, I don't think that luck should be associated with their success. That's what I think and believe that everything should be worked out and they have to do it based on what they're conducting by working on that project.
But we as individuals, I think we tend to believe with luck when we invest on a project that suddenly made us interested on buying it.
That would listening to our emotions and not going by the charts. There are coins worth putting money in like the top five but luck should never be brought into the question when buying crypto.

Projects and how they are developing is a good point. If you look closely you will find that it is more of smoke and mirrors here. Very few actually have been developing properly and they are going to go bankrupt in a few years.

It would be much better to avoid such coins and keep your hands on Bitcoin.

In my opinion is the team behind the project,if the team is well known and they have a clear road map of what they want to achieve in the future this to me can look like a trustworthy project. For example I believe a lot in the team behind Raptoreum-RTM coin,a true CPU mineable coin that brings real ASICS decentralization as it changes algorithm a few times, beside that the team behind it as I said has a great vision which they are implementing, right now they are in the assets phase, they have implemented it,the big one though is smart contracts which are coming next, once they add 2-3 programming languages for this,I think this altcoin will be a hit.

I agree with what you've said in the latter that it's always best to keep on and have bitcoin than any of these projects. But we can't stop to look at some projects when we've got a tiny spare to be released and have it gambled with it since it's affordable amount to lose.

Well, that's just what I think about successful projects. But I think if we'll ask them, they'll provide answers that will relate to their working ethics and how hard and smartly they've worked with it.

We see at the beginning developers that are serious with what they're working with. But, it's hard to spot on when they're like at the tail of their success and seeing the demand for the token they've released, that's where the harder part comes because many developers dump their tokens all at once and it's visible based on the project's pricing.

In today's world, where blockchain and smart contract technologies are becoming increasingly popular, it's crucial for businesses to ensure that their smart contracts are secure and free from vulnerabilities. That's why it's essential for projects to undergo regular security audits, like the ones provided by HashEx, to identify any potential risks or weaknesses and address them before they can be exploited by hackers or other malicious actors. By doing so, companies can protect their assets and reputation, and give their users peace of mind. https://hashex.org/

We surely did believe in luck when we invest on a project that we will earn profit and I don't think that it is wrong to be like that or to think like that.
Yes, I agree with your opinion, Crypto Growth has experienced very fast growth, many new coins and tokens have been born. Even so, most of them are fraud or scam. But before investing, we also need to reset the choice of altcoin that we want to buy. As Most people think, Investing in crypto is about buying coins, then letting them go up. It takes a lot of analysis to become a successful crypto trader. , Looking at Fundamentals, it is very important in crypto, maybe crypto is 90% to fundamentals, 10% to analysis.

Organizing skills and planning are things that needs to be learned very well. If you want to make a profit in the crypto world or in any business world, you need to calculate all the possibilities, good or bad, and you need to make sure you have actions ready to do in a moments notice as soon as that happens.

I know that being ready for all the possibilities is a very difficult thing and would require a different wiring in the brain and many people just takes a dive, but those are the people who lose the most money in the crypto world. I can't just keep watching them lose money all the time, it's really a sad feeling, just because they didn't prepare for anything that may have happened.

Projects that have announced their coins are listed on the market exchange, so we don't need to worry about that anymore. Second, projects that pay directly with a weekly payment system. So once a week, participants can already get money from their work for the project. If you meet a project with a concept like that, register immediately and don't forget to let me know  ;D

Investing in the top altcoins in the market makes sense, however we must not assume that they are the same as bitcoin, we just have to remember what happened to Luna recently and to bitconnect on the past, so if you decide to invest in one of the top altcoins you need to at least check your portfolio daily, and if you see something is going wrong you need to act quickly and sell those altcoins as you do not want to become a bagholder and lose your capital in this way.

A good project and an active coin team is what makes the coin mostly reliable. Of course, there are many other factors, but these are the most important ones.

When the coin owns a distinctive project that arises from the need of the market and has an active coin team that continuously pursues the development of the coin, I expect that it will succeed in the end.

I think most projects have hard time getting listed on CMC let alone getting listed on big exchanges. Look at how many coins are listed on Binance, and how many are listed on CMC, the difference there alone is a proof that most projects are not listed anywhere properly, and secondly if we are talking about the ones that are not even listed on CMC, we are talking about more projects that are not listed than listed at this point.

So all in all, you are not going to do some small stuff and make some money from projects, it is not going to happen. I agree with you that if anyone finds one that applies to all these, then I would like to join it myself as well :D.

Unfortunately, for altcoins, there aren't any use cases at all. In theory, it sounds great and promising, but implementing it and putting it into use cases so far is all just theory. In short, altcoins are just speculative markets, no technology, no utility, everything just hype and disappears after that. Investing in altcoins is gambling, where you need luck rather than skill and knowledge. I am waiting to see what new projects will replace topcoin, just like history has shown us.

Altcoin is a risky investment, and that is a reality Decide how much risk you can take, and only invest Which can also be lost

When it comes to projects in this industry, trustworthy is not a factor that is important to be considered as most of the projects don't have what it takes to gain sufficient trust. The existence of most projects is founded on shabby structures as we saw in FTX. Most people invest to maximize returns and don't dig deep into the operations of the project.

The team behind altcoin projects is a critical factor for the success of the project. The team members' areas of expertise, experience and past projects are important for the success of the project.

It is important that altcoin projects focus on solving a real problem using innovative technologies such as blockchain technology. Projects need to have functional technology that can deliver real value to users and investors.

Community support and fan base are important for altcoin projects. Building projects around a community is important for the project to grow and thrive.

Altcoin projects need to have a unique competitive advantage. Projects should stand out from other projects with a unique idea, functionality or use of technology.

If altcoin projects are transparent, it can help investors trust the project. It is important that projects provide a clear way to communicate with investors and regularly provide information about the project.

However, as the cryptocurrency market is highly volatile and complex, the success and reliability of altcoin projects cannot be guaranteed.

so it is not about how big the project is and how they are very popular ? there is always a possibilities that it will end scam.

With many investors becoming familiar with it, Bitcoin is a very important project in the field. Because of the profitable plan it presents, which has been in place for more than a decade and is still strong, it is trustworthy. With Bitcoin, I've gained a lot throughout both the bull and bear markets. Many scams exist; it is our responsibility to identify them and figure out how to stop them. Until it was shown to be a fraud, LUNA was a good project. Complicated studies are conducted to avoid being involved with fraudulent projects, and I can assure you that there are many advantages on the market.

Although Bitcoin is considered the leader in the cryptocurrency space, many altcoins have emerged as credible players in the market. However, it can be challenging to identify which altcoin projects are trustworthy. Trustworthy altcoins have several characteristics, including a reputable development team with experience, a real-world application, transparency in project details and finances, an active community, and high liquidity. Conducting thorough research is also essential before investing in altcoins, including reading reviews, reviewing the project's whitepaper, and keeping up with industry news. Ultimately, investors should consider their risk tolerance and investment goals, seek professional advice, and diversify their portfolios

I think naming all of altcoins in the same light is not really a nice thing to do. I understand that it is not good when you look at bitconnect or luna or something like that, but if you look at ethereum and bnb then it is as good as bitcoin as well.

It means that it depends on where you look at, of course low level stuff that look to be dangerous will happen, but there will always be some high level stuff that will do as well as hoped for as well. This is why I highly suggest that if you want to invest into bitcoin then do that, but if you want to save some aside and invest into alts, then try to do it into things that make sense and not low cap stuff.

Not just altcoins but all other crypto tokens are volatile and we do not analyze that what will be the new cost of such token. Now we are in condition where we cannot believe that what coin is trusty because new coins originates cannot be trusted as a yield production. Bitcoin is consider as a king because its price is greater than all other crypto tokens and is one of the coin which always offers its users elevated returns as a consequence of their investment.

Bitcoin is the first priority and will always remain first choice of all individuals so remaining coins may be beneficial but cannot be trusted easily.

To be considered trustworthy, an altcoin project should have a clear and unique purpose that addresses real-world problems. A solid roadmap outlining development plans and milestones can build trust among investors and users. The team behind the project should have a strong track record and expertise, with transparency about their backgrounds and experiences. A strong community of supporters and active users can demonstrate belief in the project's potential. The altcoin should have a strong security and governance model with measures in place to prevent hacking and a fair governance system. A clear financial model should include a breakdown of fundraising, fund usage, and profit distribution, as well as plans for generating revenue. Before investing in any altcoin project, conducting thorough research and due diligence is important.

While Bitcoin is widely considered the most credible cryptocurrency, altcoins vary greatly in terms of trustworthiness. To evaluate an altcoin's trustworthiness, it's essential to examine its technology, development team, community support, and adoption rate. Additionally, factors such as transparency, security, and regulatory compliance should be considered. Ultimately, thorough research and analysis are necessary to determine whether an altcoin is trustworthy or not. However, based on my experience, there's really no 100% guarantee that we can make profits from these projects cause some X factors might ruin it.

Another thing, these project makes partnerships in such places world famous exchanges, famous.  People, partnerships with big companies make these projects credible. And if big exchanges like Binance and big good companies like Microsoft, celebrities like Elon Musk, Michael Sellers invest in these projects, then people  also has full faith and trust in these projects. Rather, the confidence of all of us will increase. There are a lot of projects that are working in Metaverse gaming and web3 technology.Which is also the need of the future and they can be trusted.

Besides that, what an altcoin project can rely on is if the altcoin has a clear roadmap and also has future use cases. thus, in my opinion, this is an Altcoin project that can generate trust for many investors

Besides that, what an altcoin project can rely on is if the altcoin has a clear roadmap and also has future use cases. thus, in my opinion, this is an Altcoin project that can generate trust for many investors
Trust is built from history. If a project develops and delivers it's promises, the community will trust it's future and thus invest in it. This is lacking or short lived in most altcoins getting launched. It is mostly the older coins which have somewhat delivered.

We investors need to observe for a couple of year if not more whether the project that we are seeking actually delivers and keeps promises.

Even then many projects have gone scam after years of development.

First, have clear objectives that can be described in the project's work prospects. then having the consistency of the team and developers at work, and lastly is the solution given to every problem that everyone is facing right now.

Every project is susceptible to failure, but what helps Bitcoin and set it apart from other projects are:

1. The number of years it has been in existence,
2. The quality of the team behind it,
3. The culture behind it (Bitcoin Maximalist) and
4. The problem is trying to solve

and projects with all these features and qualities have high probabilities of succeeding and gain people's trust

In this forum there are a lot of altcoins projects are introduced daily. But if you really follow these projects for a short period of time most will be dead or rug pull. 100 out of a project I can say there will be only 10 projects were survived a long journey.

So first of all you need to check the project background. The newest project uses famous crypto influencers, persons fake social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn and show they are invested or partners in their project. So when you see that kind of piece of information, just visit the original social media accounts of those people and check whether they actually partnered or invested in this project.

This will be more helpful to save your money and invest more in BTC, ETH or BNB.  After that do an Onchain analysis, then an off-chain analysis and last but not least technical analyze.  If you are not good at these things my advice is to just invest only in BTC. Because as I always say Bitcoin is the king of the crypto. There is no doubt about that because BTC proves it a lot of time.  :)

No altcoins is trustworthy, they're just there to make us profits and we don't have to trust them to achieve those profits. Altcoins are very volatile than Bitcoin which makes trading them very good since price difference are always there.

Altcoins that might be reliable or trustworthy to you now because they're the hottest coins doesn't mean it'll stay that way forever, the narrative of an altcoins can change in matters of seconds and becomes a scam or not profiting investment.

When investing in an altcoin, always have it in mind that you could lose all your money due to the project been rejected by the community or unprofessionalism by the founders of the project that makes investors not trust the project anymore.

Well, not only altcoins but Bitcoin, stocks do not give us a guaranteed to get profit in the future, That's why it's recommended to do some research before investing in any altcoins project especially when a bull market is near there is a lot of new projects only want our money without any real development. A project that has good progress according to their roadmap and a good team in the project is worth to invest.

We can't find such things in new projects, so it means that we don't have to invest in them either.
It was not just we do the research, checking their roadmap if is followed or not, or if there is progress on a particular project. In fact, we can't expect Luna to turn into a scam as people never think about it. That is why it was hard to tell if that project is reliable and trustworthy or not, but the most important is that we never invest in a scam project.

it's true that investing in altcoin have a bigger risk than Bitcoin, but for now only altcoin can give you a bigger profit than Bitcoin (many altcoin still have the potential that their prices can increase by more than 1000%), therefore there are still many investors who choose to invest in altcoin even though the risk of investing in altcoin is greater than investing in Bitcoin.

Don't assume that all altcoins can go up 1000%, but all altcoin increases are just hype if the bitcoin price has recovered from a correction, if you expect high profits from altcoins, even the top altcoins are not a guarantee of safety, assets are still worth it, it's best to review luna and ftx coins which have caused losses of up to hundreds and millions of dollars from altcoin investments.

It's important to thoroughly research any altcoin before investing in it. Look into the team behind the project, its use case, community support, and any potential partnerships or developments. It's also a good idea to diversify your portfolio and not put all your eggs in one basket, even if it's a trusted project like Bitcoin.

A crypto project makes a reliable and trustworthy, It should have a strong and well experienced team of developers who are transparent about their identities and have a proven track record in the industry. It could ensure that the project is being managed by competent teams who are committed to the success of the project. The project should have a clear and well defined roadmap that shows that outlines of its goals and milestones.  That can help to demonstrate the project clear vision and is working towards achieving their objectives. And also the project should have a strong community supporters who are actively involved in the development and promotion of the project. It helps to build trust and credibility of the project.

the thing that makes crypto projects trusted is a solid team then a large and positive community coupled with good investors and backers make the project trusted.
Remember that even with careful evaluation, investing in cryptocurrencies carries risks. It's important to conduct thorough research, diversify your portfolio, and consider your own risk tolerance and investment goals before making any investment decisions.
that's true, solid teams really shows how committed they are, there has been many cases that the team themselves doesn't even get confident with their project, always avoiding answering question that revolves around, that is a redflag because even the team don't have idea about the prospect of their project.

but usually nowadays in investing i'd just outright follow some of best venture capital out there and just follow the project they invested and even IEO they followed and just like that i already encountered good project. i don't need the effort of spending days and night analysing some project which i honestly still have no idea after that, i'd just follow some company decision and im already set for investing in trustworthy and reliable project.

I think all crypto investments are objective. No one can really be trusted. It all depends on how and what kind of investment model you like. I've done research and investing several times and the lesson I've learned is to do it all at your own risk. Better to lose $100 on your choice than to lose $10 on someone else's choice. :)

If the project was developed by a world renowned, award winning computer scientist, then it’s a good sign.

Good point. Every decision we make, every plan we implement has to be based on our own risk level.t There is no universal standard for any investment and all we have to do is do all on our own and at our risk. Losing money, at least in the beginning, is actually not a bad thing but a valuable lesson that everyone must learn in life. In this sense, the topic in the thread is objective and "reliable" or "trustworthy" is better explained in detail as we speak in different scenarios.

Trust is built over time and for a project to be seen to be trustworthy and reliable, they have to be present in the industry for a long period of time and consistently keep the community aware of their developments. The community needs to be aware that the project is still in existence and they need to be concerned about the interest of the investors and token holders.

An ideal situation and indeed most altcoin projects will fail to tick those boxes. Bitcoin itself does not have a very public team but the concept has been supported by the community and therefore it has become so popular among netizens. Altcoins try to copy that fame and that leads to infamy and hype eventually collapse of the project because the core development is lacking.

Growing community is often lacking as well because the short term gains via pump and dump attract more investors than long term holding.

A strong and engaged community is a positive sign. Check if the project has an active and supportive community that discusses project updates, participates in discussions, and provides constructive feedback. Community involvement can indicate a project's credibility and potential for long-term success.

According to what I already know, nothing can provide high returns with minimal risk. Bitcoins are king. And Bitcoin has minimal risk but does not provide high returns. Altcoins are high risk and can provide high returns. I have never seen Bitcoin go up 10 times in a year. But many altcoins can provide returns of at least 5x.

What makes altcoins trustworthy is simply trusting people to invest in them. Even now, it's been a long time since we can't guarantee that altcoins can be trusted. We can see from the many cases that have befallen altcoins in recent years.

What makes a project trustworthy is seeing the team whether they are real or not, roadmap, community and product development,
if they are active on social media sharing project development then the project can be trusted,
and if they always update oh Github then the project can also be trusted too.
And of course we have to pay attention to all of that because these aspects are very important for making safe investments in altcoins.

A reliable and trustworthy crypto project is one that puts a strong emphasis on transparency. It has a team that openly shares their backgrounds and experiences, making them easily accessible to the community. The project also has a clearly defined roadmap and goals, regularly communicating updates and milestones achieved. It boasts a solid technological foundation, with innovative solutions and security measures in place. Engaging with the community is important, with active discussions and responsive team members. Compliance with regulations is a priority, and partnerships or real-world adoption showcase the project's credibility. Lastly, the project should have logical token economics, providing transparency about token utility and distribution.

Basically, being in altcoins is a very big risk and indeed it can be seen from the start because basically things like that are indeed risky, even with the words that the return is much bigger, altcoins are still very risky and you can't underestimate it because it's a fact like that.
Trust in altcoins I think in this case no one really believes for sure because what I see and feel right now is altcoins only as one of the actions where we take advantage of the momentum that exists from increases and decreases so in that case I don't think it's a problem about believing or not because the use of such things is not only based on trust but only looking for profit by looking at the conditions that occur for altcoins.

I was looking for web3 projects like neonLink cuz i was and I am interested in web3
This technology will bring joy to us and it has a great future
Trustworthy? you gotta see what team is doing, If they're moving, evolving, no delays, smart delevopers are working on that project - then you can be sure that with time it will bring something valuable to this world
Also marketing strategy is important

I think Bitcoin is indeed the King of cryptocurrency, but that doesn’t mean altcoins are worthless. Some altcoins have innovative features, strong communities, and real-world use cases that make them trustworthy. For example, Ethereum is the platform for smart contracts and decentralized applications, Cardano is a scalable and eco-friendly blockchain, and Chainlink is a network for connecting blockchains with external data sources.

Imho project teams previous experience is the only factor that makes them reliable and trustworthy. No one would trust and invest in no-names. No one would give a lot of attention to a projects, whos team hasnt finished or abandoned their previous project. Only past success and results can show that crypto project is able to fulfil what they have planned. A project can promise a lot and aim to be successful, but if they have failed all previous times or have unexperienced team, they wont achieve anything.

I think the difference between the altcoins is the thing that confuses a lot of people. ETH is considered an altcoin as well as Pepe, do you think that they are the same thing? Obviously not and this is why "invest into altcoin" could mean something so different in people.

I do invest into eth, and even bnb right now because I think it's undervalued after what has happened, but that doesn't mean that it's going to work, maybe I am wrong and maybe I will not make any difference at all but that doesn't mean that I will be able to just sit by and watch it go down when it shouldn't. In the end we are going to see it do well enough and maybe I will profit from it when the time comes and that's how I interpret investing into alts, not everybody seems like they would do something similar.

This is really the best way to determine if it is trustworthy because we can see their past projects, and if they are successful or not, we can draw a conclusion. Just imagine if the team is new for you and has not proven track record; for sure, they are still not worthy unless they have really true intentions for the project. Then you are lucky. If the team already has a proven track record and their roadmap and whitepaper are good, then I think it's worth it, but again, it is not 100% certain that it will be successful, as it still depends on the team and investors.

What we can do is only minimize the risk, thats why we need to "DYOR" and the most important criteria for me before i decide to invest in something is the TEAM behind the project, if they have a big reputation then it will be very nice.

Several factors contribute to the reliability and trustworthiness of a crypto project. Firstly, transparency in the project's operations, including clear documentation and  regular audits, helps build trust among users. Secondly, a strong development team with relevant expertise and a track record of successful projects inspires confidence. Additionally, community engagement, active communication channels, and a supportive ecosystem contribute to the project's credibility.

(...)
My experience has shown me that there are many different factors that determine a crypto project's credibility. However, the evaluation of altcoins must also be based on many other factors such as application development potential, partnerships, market sentiment, etc. You should research carefully before deciding to invest in a certain altcoin. An altcoin with good technology and high reliability will attract a lot of interest from users and investors. The higher an altcoin is rated for reliability, security, and scalability, the more valuable it is. Successful and reliable altcoins must have a talented and passionate development team. They need the experience, knowledge, and skills needed to build and develop their products and services. There is a large user community that supports and contributes to it. This community can determine the success or failure of altcoins. As well as high liquidity and increasing value over time, it will bring good returns to investors. If the altcoin has stability in its market area and supply and demand adjust well, it is a reliable sign.

A reliable encryption project should be transparent and open.
The project should have a mature technical team that can effectively develop and maintain the technical architecture and solutions on which the project depends.
A reliable encryption project should have the ability to continuously develop and update. This means that the project should have a long-term vision and plan, with timely updates and improvements rolled out.

One must always bear in mind the staggering range of projects in the altcoin universe. From Ethereum's transformative smart contracts to Chainlink's ground-breaking oracle services, altcoins offer a buffet of functionalities.

Yet, grouping all altcoins into one homogenous category can indeed be misleading, akin to lumping a gold medal athlete and a casual jogger into the same "sports person" category. Ethereum and Pepe do occupy different niches, command varying degrees of market trust and have disparate use cases.

As for your investments in ETH and BNB, the market can indeed be a fickle mistress. Risk is inherent in the realm of cryptocurrencies, and your perspective reflects an understanding of the potential volatility. Do remember, however, that the market’s short-term fluctuations should not deter you from your convictions. If your research suggests an altcoin is undervalued, trust your judgement.

There is nothing we can really trust in the crypto world not even the big coins that are on top 10 on cmc. What we can do is only minimize the risk, thats why we need to "DYOR" and the most important criteria for me before i decide to invest in something is the TEAM behind the project, if they have a big reputation then it will be very nice.

This is a risk that we have to accept, the coins that are in the top 10 have a level of trust that can be said to be 90%,
because it's very rare for me to see the top 10 end up being a scam, and yes 10% end up being a scam,
there have been lots of cases in 2017 when that's what I know about BCC, and in 2022 LUNA and FTT.

So you won't trust the altcoin that you had put your money on? Satoshi haven't revealed himself/themselves because of some reasons and also it proves that the main characteristic of bitcoin which is anonymity is effective. If you don't trust cryptocurrency projects, how did you come up to the point that you invested and spent your money on buying them? This is why we are doing research on investing because it can gauge our trust to the developers, project ideas and the possible market reaction to the project. We all want to be profitable and investing in something needs some trust and a big hope that it rises in value.

No cryptocurrency assets can be trusted. We must do frequent research to find out real assets (not scams). This can be done by checking the verification of its team members and their backgrounds, project vision, and market evaluation of the resulting tokens. But this does not guarantee us to get a good token.  Because, tokens with a good team can also fail to provide profits.

if it's being invested by some big venture capital like binance labs, mysten labs, etc i think they are pretty much reliable and trustworthy, there's no doubt about that.
but aside from that, you can see the reliability by whether the project are having good technicality in their whitepaper I guess.

when it comes to the top ranked coin collapsing, it's always trigger chain effect, that is the collapse accompanied by other coin falling down quite literally losing majority of its value.
but generally as I've seen in the case of luna, it was massively caused by their faulty stablecoin system that make their coin collapse entirely.
the same case couldn't be said for other coin since many of the top ranked coin are just purely smart contract coin without something like what luna has done honestly.
even the pegging system of many stablecoin are entirely different mechanism if compared with luna, i just don't think in the future there will be that many collapses of top ranked coins, many have learned from the case of luna.

In my opinion, a few key factors contribute to a trustworthy altcoin. First, look at the project's team and their experience in the industry. Transparency and a solid track record matter too. Also, consider the community support and active development. It's important to assess their technology, real-world use cases, and potential partnerships. Remember, thorough research is key.

Based on what happening on trading cryptos, none is trustworthy (as of the volatility of the coins/tokens). But bitcoin is well-known, mostly traders choose bitcoin to trade due to the fact of its value. Eventhough crypto project has its very promising goal and roadmap, the future of it is unknown specially if it is not widely reach its target.

A reliable and trustworthy crypto project should have a strong foundation that is built on transparency, security and community support. Transparency is important in order to ensure that the project goals, objectives and strategies are clearly communicated to the community. This includes providing regular updates on the projects progress as well as being open about any potential risks or challenges that may arise. Security is also needed for a reliable and trustworthy crypto project. This means implementing strong security as regularly testing and auditing the security measures to ensure they are effective.

My measurement for a trustworthy project goes like this:

1. Longevity, if some project can survive in 1-3 years and can stand when it's price tanking like 90% and still thrive to make something to adapt, its' good enough

2. Community, the more "cult" like the community the better the alts are, why? because you know they have supporter who will stand their ground when something looks bad.

I think the most important thing, if you want to be safe, look for one that has clear legality and stands firmly within the jurisdiction of a country. Yes. a platform that complies with terms and conditions and is recognized by financial authorities as well, will add credibility to the rating project going forward and gain more public trust.

from another point of view it might be common and like the tone conveyed it might not be much different from what I said where When determining the reliability and trustworthiness of a crypto project there are several factors that in my opinion must be considered such as the strength of a Credible Team, Strong Community and Fund Support, Roadmap is implemented according to plan, and will be adopted by the Real World.

Altcoins usually have them running but many dont and you have to identify this without being euphoria about the future of an altcoin. Many of them show signs that they are dying out or less trustworthy after their launch but people choose to ignore them. This ends up being a vicious cycle where the investor supports every wrong move taken by the project and attempts to justify them. These emotions need to be controlled and the coin sold off even at a loss if unable to sustain.

Not every coin out there is future safe. Only Bitcoin is and therefore we must try to limit these options to be maximally profitable with the minimum diversification inside crypto assets.

Why not? If a project has real based products where only investors will get profit then everyone will invest in that project. Moreover, there are many good project followers where they occupy a large share of the crypto market. You can't dump a high quality altcoin even if you want to because they have a high volume of investors.

Here I will say the first thing, that it is very difficult to gain the trust of a new coin like other Biggest Trusttable coins, in short, it is not possible to do it. But you can look at the background of other coins why they have reached this stage today or gained so much trust for investors to invest. I think a new coin should have a minset first to gain trust, they will keep their project innovating, keeping favours of users in mind. And constantly keeping up with and updating technology.  Match your words and actions.  Sometimes a good marketing strategy or promotion is very important to gain trust.

knowing that their real products are that good is another entire thing though, it will be difficult, there needed to be market research and many more.
even project that have utility doesn't mean its utility will be frequently used in practice and could results failure.
determining project that have real product and real utility that gonna be frequently used by the masses is difficult thing, thats why investing is leaning more towards losing than profitting in general.
because knowing which project gonna succeed is not some measly matter. its really difficult.

Both real projects and scams can dump, the only difference is that legit project will always come back up after the dumps is over. There is many reasons why a project dumps and when that dumps happens it doesn't mean the project was a scam. Infact Bitcoin also dumps but it always recover because it has lots of investors that believe in it because it's not a scam.
What make a cryptocurrency reliable in my opinion is when they have a real problem that they're solving and have the integrity to stand by their claims and not only into cryptocurency because they want to make gains. When projects are focus they can succeed and every investors will make profits. For example, Bitcoin dumps but it always recover because investors believe in it
Bitcoin is solving a problem of fast and secure transaction been done in a decentralized manner and not centralized like fiats. Bitcoin is reliable but altcoins hardly can be relied on because their founders are usually greedy although we have some special ones that their founders wants what's best for their investors and this are the ones we should be investing into.

Fraudulent projects will only have a negative impact on the crypto ecosystem. so many new projects appear and new users start logging in without any analysis or research at all, so it is easy for them to be conned with the promise of greater profits. the need for initial education about crypto and the dangers that must be avoided so that they can invest in the right assets. Bitcoin is the main suggestion, but some altcoins are also good enough to grow profits.

The right words. In cryptocurrency, you don't need to trust anyone. You only need to make a profit, if you are able to do so, and forget the old project, with the help of which you were able to make a profit. Believing that the project will do well in the future will not do you any good. Someone will just make money with your help. For example with TERRA LUNA it was like that not very long ago, when no one expected that it would turn out to be a scam.

that's correct, no crypto project can be trusted fully cause anytime anything could be occurred as you already mentioned terra luna for an example. Scam is common thing in crypto market and will have happened in future too but it doesn't mean, we should stop investment. We just need to research before jump on any project to add in portfolio. Well established Potential project like btc eth bnb have less possibility to scam than others altcoins. So such type of projects can be trusted, although sometime exceptional incident could be happened like terra luna

When assessing the trustworthiness of an altcoin project, it's essential to consider several key factors that set them apart from the rest of the crypto space. As a payment gateway like https://coinremitter.com/?utm_source=com&utm_medium=bitcointalks our perspective emphasizes the aspects that contribute to reliability and transparency within the altcoin market.

Firstly, a trustworthy altcoin project should have a clear and well-defined use case. It should address a real-world problem or offer innovative solutions in a specific industry. Coinremitter, for instance, focuses on providing a seamless and secure payment gateway solution for cryptocurrencies, enabling businesses to accept various digital assets as payment.

Additionally, a credible altcoin project typically has a transparent and professional team with a track record of success in the cryptocurrency or relevant industry. Our team at Coinremitter, with years of experience in both blockchain technology and payment gateways, is committed to providing a robust and reliable service.

Another vital aspect is community support and engagement. Trustworthy altcoins tend to have an active and loyal community of supporters who believe in the project's vision and are actively involved in its development. Coinremitter values its community of users and constantly seeks feedback to improve and meet their needs.

Security is paramount. A reliable altcoin project should implement robust security measures to protect user funds and data. Coinremitter places a high emphasis on the security of its payment gateway to ensure the safety of cryptocurrency transactions.

Lastly, trust is built over time. A trustworthy altcoin project should have a consistent and transparent track record, showing their commitment to the project's long-term success. Coinremitter is dedicated to providing reliable payment solutions, and our track record speaks for itself.

In conclusion, trustworthiness in altcoin projects comes down to having a clear use case, a professional team, an engaged community, strong security measures, and a consistent track record. Coinremitter embodies these principles, striving to be a reliable crypto payment gateway for businesses and individuals alike.

In essence, I rarely keep tabs on altcoins outside the top 10, as most of them lack strong fundamentals. While not all altcoins are perfect, at the very least, those in the Top 10 tend to outperform the rest. Ethereum, BNB, Ripple, they do have their shortcomings when compared to Bitcoin, but they represent the cream of the altcoin crop.

On the whole, I only monitor a handful of altcoins because it's quite challenging to uncover hidden gems among those with low transaction volumes, unless you're willing to invest a substantial amount of time.

In my view, Ethereum and BNB remain trustworthy projects, despite the controversies surrounding them due to centralization. These projects, at the very least, are superior to the majority of altcoins. What instills my confidence and trust in ETH and BNB is their maturity and clear project development.

There's no guaranteed rules what makes a project fully reliable and trustworthy. I saw many good projects turns into shitcoin or scam or end after some months for unknown reason. Luna ftx were also top projects for an example. But need to check out developers' experiences, their roadmap, mainly team member if that person is famous already or is that person has linked with other successful project or not. And there are so many thing but even after that, you will see a good projects fail or scam , and we can't do anything

Its mostly the team behind the project and the project backing it. When people see an experienced team working on something and they are backed by some popular companies that have a good reputation on the field, it gives confidence to the investors that this project has a good management team that can lead it to success. Sometimes we have seen people following some influencers whos recommendations they use to invest in a project which can be good and at the same time risky.

Relying and placing your trust in this Altcoins dose not seems right as the case may be, most of them always end up to being nothing and rug. Why put your trust on something that is not clearly trustworthy and is capable of ending at a point.
Altcoins do not deserves to be relied on they are just there to give you quick profits before falling out. You might want to look at the team base and also consider their technical abilities like their trading volume, their technology advancement and all that but those can be only there to lure  you into investing wholesomely with their project.
Some of this Altcoins also goes by using well reputable people in the society to advertise their project as to gain more popularity and make the project look more trustworthy due to the influence of the reputable people they tend to have the trust of investors and you see them making huge sales.
