Title: How to send merit?
Post by: Sakanwa on February 17, 2023, 06:53:20 AM
I have been really thinking of this for a long time now ever since when I started posting on the forum. I guess am not wrong to ask this question,
*HOW CAN I SEND MERIT TO A QUALITY POST.
I have seen alot of good post here and I wish to merit it but I don't know how it's been done,I just want to know how it's been done.

Any post that you believe deserves merit - just click on the top left area - where you will see a tab …

+ Merit

Click on this and it will take you to a page where you can add a merit to the members post . SIMPLES  :)
Hope this helps  :)

Merit & new rank requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0)

You can send 1, 2, 3, 10 merit but can not send 0.5 merit. With 7 merit, you have 3.5 sendable merit but you can only send 3. For 0.5 sendable merit, you must have 1 more merit to gain 0.5 more sendable merit and have 1 sendable merit to send.

Move it to Meta or Beginners & Help. Your topic is not about Bitcoin.

I use your post as an example, but you can not merit your own post. Check the post of other people and click on 'merit', just as you see it in the image below:

Charles-Tim has answered that for you clearly eventhough what you asked for is under your nose, looking you in the eyes. You have to start spending more time on the forum and get engagements so that you will begin to find out how little things like that work here. From BPIP data I see you are honest about what you said and have not sent a single merit to any member. Get busy. But you can close this topic now as your question has its answer already.

I think there is nothing more to add here @OP. We hope to see you send some of them 3.5smerits you've got but for now,
You should move this thread over to beginners and help or even archive after haven't got all these directives.

If you don't know how to move a thread,
Look at the bottom left of your screen and you would notice a lock/move icon. Click and following the directives in selecting a board then authorise the move. This isn't a typical meta thread!

You have already been told how you can send merits and you can send to those posts you find useful or say deserving one's.But you can only send half the merits you have earned which means if you have 4 earned merits you will receive 2 smerits which you can give to others. But there is exceptional case of merit source who can send more of what they earn to distribute merits on the forum as they are appointed by @theymos.

Here is the full process. I hope it will be useful to you
You should also resize the images you post as these are too big and not advisable to post in such a manner. You can simply do the following for image readjustment in your posts :

Code:

I apologize for my mistake. I posted this with my phone and thought that it was okay. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, and I already made the necessary adjustments. Thank you   :D

Even with a phone you will still find out if it's bloated or not. I also post images here from a mobile phone. Just hit the "Preview" button before you post to peruse how your picture will look like when posted. Zoom in to get a clearer view. Normally width 150–300 will be ok, depending on what you're posting anyway.

Question was answered a few times by several users. Please don't repeat answer like spam.

OP duplicated another topic today to ask it like he has never read answers in this thread. That new thread was deleted by mod.

He likely does not mind to read your answers. Another reason to stop replying.

After reading the replies to comments other users have left in this thread, you should try spending your first sMerit on a post you think is worthy of Merit. Currently there are around 3.5 sMerits that you can spend if you calculate each merit received will increase (0.5 sMerits).
Please send merit on appropriate posts, not on posts you like. There are so many quality posts that have even previously been rewarded with merit by other users. If you think it's feasible, please apply according to what has been directed by several users here.
