Title: "This PM looks like possible phishing: examine links closely!" Post by: LoyceV on February 19, 2023, 06:31:30 AM This is new:
https://loyce.club/other/possiblephishing.png This morning, I received 2 PMs, both with this warning. One of them links to BPIP.org, the other has an URL within code-tags. I'm not sure what triggers the warning, but if it's added to "normal" PMs too, users will just dismiss it after seeing it many times. Post by: Little Mouse on February 19, 2023, 06:40:37 AM Nothing special for triggering this warning, it's displayed almost in all the links. I have received a PM with 3 different links. Most of them were linked to bitcointalk. The other 2 were telegram and discord. Still having the same warning.
Well, theymos can manually whitelist a few links for which the warning won't be visible. This is new: Did you mean the feature or the warning message?Title: Re: "This PM looks like possible phishing: examine links closely!" WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!! Title: Re: "This PM looks like possible phishing: examine links closely!" Send a PM with forum link and another with an external link. The PM containing external link will display the warning to the receiver.Well, theymos can manually whitelist a few links for which the warning won't be visible. The only warning I knew is this one: You aren't using the forum PM system a huge, or maybe you didn't receive a such PM for a while. It has been there for a quite long time now, I noticed that on April 2022 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5393126.0). It must be there prior to my post. I'm not surprised that you didn't notice. AI fact :DEdit- Once again, AI fact. You have merited my post back then :D Title: Re: "This PM looks like possible phishing: examine links closely!" So I guess it's just a coincidence seeing this in both PMs this morning. I'll lock this topic.~ Edit- Once again, AI fact. You have merited my post back then :D In my defence: I've Merited more posts than I can remember. |
