Title: Online Casinos and Tech Devices
Post by: Davidvictorson on February 23, 2023, 07:25:11 AM
One of the rarest topics I have seen discussed on this gambling board is devices and online gambling. We know that in the past, the only platform through which gamblers could have access to online casinos was by using laptop or desktop devices. One reason for this was that online casinos used a technology called Flash, which at that time worked on computers only and not mobile devices.

However, things turned around with the introduction of a new online programming language, HTML5. When HTML5 (https://casino.borgataonline.com/en/blog/how-cross-platform-gaming-will-change-the-online-gaming-world/) was introduced in 2008, it was made with an eye toward both mobile and desktop computers. It was much simpler to get anything to operate on a variety of devices if it was coded in HTML5. This was fantastic for developers since it allowed them to create fewer websites for less money, but it also meant that a single website would function on any device that had an HTML5-compatible browser.

We are no longer restricted to playing on desktops and laptops, but can now enjoy playing our favorite casino games on our smartphones, iPads, and other mobile devices. Personally, I am still stuck in my old ways of using my laptop to visit an online casino to play. Which device do you find most convenient when accessing an online casino: a laptop or desktop, a smartphone, or an iPad? Secondly, which do you find more convenient: playing a casino game through their app or through their website?

A laptop or desktop: not flexible, but it's good if you're playing live casino since you shouldn't lost connection during playing or you will lose.

A smartphone: most flexible and you can gamble without anyone know since the screen is small.

An iPad: I'm not use it since there's no point to gamble via iPad.

IMO I would better to gamble on the casino app because it's more faster and quick rather than through website.

We have similar discussion here on gambling board: Any Casino Android software (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5421200.0). The opening post is kind of different from yours but of similar replies about the preference of people. What I noticed is that some people prefer mobile phone and mobile apps for easy access while preferring computer gambling websites and apps for having better interface.

I have noticed that many gambling site do not bother to have a mobile app, while some do not have app at all, but while the website is user friendly and easy to be used to access the gambling site. Computers are better but I have seen myself more convenient using mobile phone likely because of easy access.

Playing thru an application is way way better but there are more maintenance that are happening than a website based gambling site.
Browser based thru the use of Chrome and Firefox are damned hard to control. I don't really like it and most of the time I get the wrong pick because of the smaller letters and numbers that is shown.
While thru an application, it is meant to be created so that it can be user-friendly and gambler won't make mistakes.
Overall, I'd still prefer using my desktop and will only choose using my smartphone when I cannot get my hands on it.

   -   This question of yours seems to be similar to this topic mate https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5436082.0, but I will still answer your question of course.

Me, I'm still more comfortable playing gambling using a desktop or laptop and iPod tablet. Because the mobile device is quite small although it is handy and can be carried unlike the desktop it is not because it is heavy and it is not handy.

I’m currently using iPad when I gamble because it has a better display than mobile devices and more convenient than desktop since it’s a hand held device. I play blackjack and other live games most of the time and I can get the best gaming experience using my iPad compared to mobile phone for a hand held comparison. I’m rarely use my computer to play online casino since I purchased my iPad.  ;)

IMO I would better to gamble on the casino app because it's more faster and quick rather than through website.

As an iPad/mobile user, I agree that an app is much better to play than a website for a better display compatibility. I always accidentally close tab or back whenever I’m playing on website especially on mobile phone since I have fat finger.

People will prefer the desktop or laptop because it is the best to bring out the good design of a gambling websites, but there are times only our phone will be available to us, which means phones are more accessible and more available and we can carry phone about to everywhere we are going.

Are you serious that you see better on app than browser? That has never been a problem for me, I see better in both app and browsers. I see none to be difficult for gambling for me.

Everyone chooses the most convenient one to use just as you said of using computer, although whichever one I am accessed to could be used at the moment but natural desktop is more preferably due to clear vision, using smartphone makes it boring and not seeing all text clearly. App seems to be malfunctioning most times but I guess this could be an error from my ends due to lack of phone memory storage.

I still prefer my laptop to play on my favorite casinos, the experience of like playing in a landbased casinos. But there are times that I also try to play on mobile ways when I was on a go or doesn't want for someone to see me in public playing. With my mobile phone I can go on any corner bring out my phone and play.

But when I'm at at home, I still prefer to play on a big screen in my laptop.

Still each other's own though, others plays only in their phone and that is fine as well.

Yes, apps has also evolved and so is the casino themselves. They have to developed more friendly apps that suited their customers that wants to play more on their mobile phone. Personally though, I still used desktop for viewing pleasure to play my favorite slots.

I don't think that a mobile can beat our experience playing using our desktop or laptop.

Might be better if we have the votes though? so we can see the preference of the community?

For me, personally, I still prefer using my laptop or desktop computer to access online casinos. For one thing, the screen size is larger, providing a better gambling experience. Additionally, the keyboard and mouse offer more precise controls. Lastly, I tend to play casino games for extended periods of time, so having a stable and reliable power source is important for me. Also worth noting: Some sites don't offer mobile versions of their services, so if you want to play on your phone or tablet while out and about, you may have limited options.

When accessing an online casino, the most convenient device will depend on individual preferences and circumstances. A laptop or desktop computer may be more suitable for those who prefer a larger screen and more powerful hardware, while a smartphone or iPad may be more suitable for those who want to play on-the-go or have limited space. Additionally, some online casinos may offer a better user experience on certain devices or have different features available on different platforms.
Personally, I prefer mobile devices when traveling, as well as the surface screen when at home, so I don't have any trouble offering some games while surfing the web.

I only use my mobile phone to place sport bets and to check the balance or any ongoing bonus the casino may be having and I do so while I am on the go.When it comes to enjoying slot machines it is impossible to have the same level of enjoyment on a mobile device compared to a powerful desktop computer and a big screen. The sound effects of most slot machines cannot be enjoyed while playing on a mobile phone no matter how powerful they are nowadays and for me I am an old school,I like powerful desktops over laptops, tablets and mobile phones,I only play slots in my HP Z440 workstation.

For quick and easy access,I prefer a smart phone because I can find myself anywhere  far from home and might want to gamble,I can easily use my phone to do that anywhere, anytime and in the presence of whoever. I could remember when I was stuck at the middle of a high way on a journey due to a little fault in my car engine. I called a mechanic, after that I  brought out my phone and a started gambling to pass time.

I do love using apps to gamble than casino's website, reason is that it takes time and not convenient for me,with the app,it is better and make me enjoy the fun more because in a click, you get want you want.

For me it depends on the site or app. There are some gambling site that are exceptional on my laptop browser but not so good on my phone browser. There area also some gambling sites that have a mobile app but the app doesn't suit me as much as the website. I would only have a preference with the device I use when the one is more compatible that the other. The my mobile phone is more compatible, then I will use my phone, if its the laptop then so be it. Same goes to the second question if the website is better than the app ill use the website but if the app is better then I will use the app.

I mean for me it's not about the apps, it depends on the situation itself. As what mobile devices is, if you are on the go and then use this one if you want to play and gamble like slots and put your sports bet.

But if you are in the comfort of your home, then there is no substitute for playing in your laptop.

I enjoy both though, and so I can't say which one is better or not. They both have advantages and disadvantages.

The progression of technology in the realm of online gambling is truly awe-inspiring. I recollect when I first ventured into the online gambling space, it was only plausible to do so through a desktop or laptop mechanism. But, lo and behold, the revolutionary HTML5 has brought about a paradigm shift in online gambling and enabled us to engage in gaming through any device with an HTML5-compatible browser.

As for me, I am of the opinion that using a laptop or desktop is the most expedient way to access an online casino. The indulgence of a larger screen and the convenience of a keyboard and mouse enhance the gaming experience for me. However, when I am out and about or away from my workstation, employing my smartphone proves to be a great option. And with regards to the preference of playing through an app or website, I must declare my partiality for the website. I take pleasure in the convenience of accessing all the features and games of an online casino without the burden of downloading an additional app. Moreover, I have found that websites are usually more user-friendly and easier to navigate, which elevates my gaming experience to new heights.

I think there's similar thread discussing about this come check this What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5436082.0) created by paxmao.

This is the beauty of current technology because we can play anywhere at our comfort and provably anyone prefer all of this because gamblers still plays depends on where they are and glad there are smart phones and other devices which we can use since we can easily access these casino anywhere we want.

Although there's a disadvantage on each device but for sure gambler ignores that since what their main concern is how they can play their games.

I still like to access online casinos using a laptop or desktop because the monitor screen is bigger than a smartphone or iPad, so it won't tire my eyes quickly after playing gambling. But I sometimes also use a smartphone when I'm outside the house and don't have a laptop, but my gambling time won't be as long as usual.

And that's what makes it easier for people now to access these online casinos because they can use any device to visit the casino. And the consequence is that people can become addicted to gambling in no time.

Title: Re: Online Casinos and Tech Devices

actually it all depends on where you are when you want to gamble in online casinos to gamble.
I mean when someone leaves the house more often to work outside the home, once in a while during breaks they want to gamble using their smartphone. because it's highly unlikely they'll be outside on a laptop or desktop where the battery isn't likely to last very long. because battery consumption on a laptop or desktop is very wasteful and cannot be far from charging. so they will choose a smartphone to gamble in online casinos and be more comfortable.

but for those who are more often at home or work indoors, they definitely prefer to gamble using a laptop or desktop which allows them to be able to bet longer at the betting table. because if you are indoors you will not be far from charging so that when the laptop battery runs out it can be recharged immediately.

so in conclusion they (gamblers) will feel comfortable when gambling using a smartphone, desktop or laptop, depending on their current situation.

I still prefer playing on desktop than cellphone, its not a question of old ways of gambling its all about conveniences,
I can concentrate more, I'm having more fun and I'm always in my favorite place to play, I want to play in the same place every time I play, I tried playing my cellphone but I'm having a hard time with the scope of the cellphone and there's a lot of notifications in my cell I lose my concentration, compared to desktop I can disable tabs and application so I can concentrate on my bets.

I'm mostly a desktop player, I rarely visit casinos on any other devices that I have even if I have them in front of me. I usually just set a certain amount of time to visiting casinos and the like after all. I have opened casinos in my phone/tablet browsers though, but those are pretty rare instances. As for an app vs website, I've never ever tried to look for an application version of the casinos that I use, I always use browsers to access them. I don't even know if the ones I use have them or not in the first place really.

I play on my personal computer and mobile device depending on my location. On the days where I spend time on my PC in my house, I gamble online using my PC because I use my PC for everything except making calls. If I am out chilling with friends or away from my PC and I receive a tip that can help me make some money from gambling, my phone comes into play. Gambling online would never have had the complete experience if it was only restricted to laptops and PC's. The idea of gambling online is for ease, the fact that it is supported by both laptops, PC's, mobile phones and iPads endorses that idea.

Playing casino games is enjoyable on mobile devices, but in my opinion, I prefer desktop computers because they offer superior graphics, greater convenience. For example, I usually like to sit at the desk while I play online casino games. It is the comfiest posture where I am at rest. I addition, when I play using my desktop computer,
I do not have to put a lot of strain on my eyesight when compared to using a mobile device. I will always pick a laptop or desktop over any mobile device when it comes to online casinos.

Graphics is not that a big impact when playing online casino since casino games doesn’t have a higher graphics which a mobile device can’t render properly. I believe the only difference is the screen size but the picture quality is same unless you are using a very outdated mobile phone that has a very low gpu. But most of the mobile phone especially the top of the line has a good graphics which produce same quality when you view the casino games.

The game on the casino that support HD is live casino and it only has 1080p resolution max which can be rendered by mobile phone without any problem.

Not sure how your eyes are going to be strained though playing on mobile devices, I don't see any difference. But if you are talking about not the graphics but the experience and the UI instead then it's not even comparable. I too prefer playing on my desktop computers, because it is also convenience for me. And I think since desktop has more storage space, it could be an advantage too for us, for a better gaming experience.

I started playing on my desktop from them I would not even think of playing anywhere except on my desktop some of my friends invited and encourage me to play on my cellphone but I cannot feel the same feeling of relaxation and convenience playing on a cellphone.
And besides, I can control how I gamble, because I carry my cell phone at my work if I become convenient playing on my cellphone I might get totally addicted to gambling because I can access casinos anytime using my cell phone in my pocket.

Just as our needs differ, so do our preferred choice of accessing online casinos also differ, because due to the recent development of computer age, most people now prefer using laptops compared to desktops, simply because it's more portable and easy to use, likewise same with smartphones compared to iPad, as it's quite easily affordable (cheap) and easy to use. But for me, I'm currently using smartphone, as it gives me the privilege to access online anytime from anywhere.
Secondly, I enjoy using a casino mobile app compared to websites, as it saves me the stress of opening a browser and start searching for my casino through Google.

I remember there were two more threads recently posted similar to this one where they discussed gambling on desktop or phone.
So you could use the search box before starting up a new thread to find out threads you want to read about.
From the previous discussion we can conclude that while most of the people prefer gambling on desktop/laptop there is also a large number of people gambling on smartphones.
Both the audience have their own convenience which is not wrong.

It depends on the casino game you want to play on mobile and also if the website has a mobile version for its games, some games are better played on a desktop display while some still manage to run well using a mobile view, in this case, it is better to use gambling websites that support or build an app for smartphone users, this should not be an issue this days anymore because not all online gamblers have PC in their home, but everyone has a smartphone.

There are problems with allowing people easy access on their phones they are more likely to bet when they should not and it encourages compulsive gambling because they are more likely to react to games when they have easy access to their phones. I use a mobile phone but I recommend people put a gambling limit on your account because the access the phone gives can be tempting and you might lose more money then you were planning on wagering.

I have tried several devices to play online games, but laptops, ipads, desktops are not comfortable for me to use, I experience anxiety problems every time I place a bet on an online gambling site. with all three methods.

Smartphones are different from others, I like it when I want to bet on some games and I like to do all that, My smartphone can open online gambling sites and bet wherever and whenever I want, without problems such as laptops, iPads, desktops that are too heavy and large for me besides having to have a special seat to open and start, A simple and easy smartphone can be said to be a multi-functional device for various types of games that you want to play online.

I find comfort in playing on my desktop with a wide screen I am very used to playing using my mouse than tapping using my fingers, I can think of good moves or strategies using my desktop.
I guess there are people who are used to playing on their cell and some on their desktops the most important is where you find your comfort zone when playing.
When you are comfortable playing you can think clearly and you can think of your bet, and bankroll and you have control over when to stop thereby avoiding chasing your losses.

I think gambling on mobile devices is a bad idea. Quick access to casinos will have a negative impact on the player. For him, gambling in any place and at any time will have a negative result because of the unfamiliar environment. Which device do you find most convenient when accessing an online casino: a laptop or desktop, a smartphone, or an iPad? Secondly, which do you find more convenient: playing a casino game through their app or through their website?
using a PC is still better for me because I can multitask when I use a PC unlike on smartphones. as much as I like the convenience smartphones provide when it comes to being able to access a casino where ever you are as long as you have internet, I do hate that I have trouble navigating casino's website using a smartphone not because don't have smartphone friendly website but because my fingers are thick and phone screens are too small(at least for me) and I can't remember how many times I have misclicked placing bets because of it, it ruins my mood every time it happens.

Thank God for advancement in coding and the birth of HTML5 which has made users who are less economically equipped to handle a PC or ipad, to have access to same features that wouldn't normally operate on a smartphone.
I enjoy playing casino games with a laptop because of the screen display and enhancements, also on a second look, someone would think I am so engrossed with work when they see how focused I play using a laptop.
For real time betting or casino online gambling mostly in a more quiet or boring environment, a smartphone is the right choice.

I think gambling on mobile devices is a bad idea. Quick access to casinos will have a negative impact on the player. For him, gambling in any place and at any time will have a negative result because of the unfamiliar environment. Playing in a familiar place gives the opportunity to be in a relaxed state and make less hasty decisions.

It can only be a bad thing if a person is abusing it. To responsible gamblers, it is actually a convenience to access casino sites anytime and anywhere because we don't have to go out or travel just to visit physical casinos. It will only have a negative impqct if a person can't control his urge to gamble and even abusing it by betting more than what he can afford.
For me, laptop and desktops can provide better versions but mobile phones can also provide better access especially when we are traveling.

Using laptops or iPads is more convenient and eligible, especially for people that have sight issues. You can conveniently navigate all around the website and all the icons will be very bold and clear. But carrying a laptop around is not always possible. It will restrict your gambling to the house or office. And laptops and iPads are also expensive to buy. Phones are mobile and give the uncommon privilege of staking at any time and anywhere and it also consumes fewer data. Phones are also cheaper than laptops, which makes them easier to buy.

I prepare using the casino website because I have had some challenges with app cloning. Websites are sometimes not easy to clone, even if it is, they can be dictated easily. Although app is easy to use, I prefer using websites.

Well, inventing the casino website into a mobile casino makes it even more problematic for those who are addicted to gambling and have a hard time making something to stop themselves. Imagine being able to do it anywhere as long as you have internet and a smartphone. That's addicting and makes it hard for people to stop the temptation.

I love playing on my laptop instead of my phone. I don't gamble much, but it's more fun with the computer than with my smart phone. The convenience of an application is definitely better than a website.

I certainly remember those days, not too long ago yet they sort of feel like it now.  I personally prefer to use online casinos whether it's placing a sports bet or playing a casino game like blackjack, poker or roulette via my desktop.  However I love that when I'm out and about that I can just whip out my cell-phone and place bets or play a quick game of poker or whatever.  I tend to prefer websites over apps, but it all depends on how well built the app is.

I personally prefer using a mobile phone when betting and playing on casino sites. The screen might be smaller than desktops and laptops, but I like the fact that I can focus more while playing. I find it more exciting to play closely even when I'm lying in bed at night. Well, we all have our own preferences when it comes to devices when playing but what important is we can focus and feel comfortable when gambling.

I only noticed that many legit and top crypto casino sites still doesn't have their own mobile application but this doesn't prevents us from accessing them using only our mobile phones. I tried to play slot games on both my laptop and mobile and the experience is almost the same but I think I can prefer my mobile more because I can lay down in my bed.

It makes gambling more relaxing this way than if I play with my laptop which can hurt my back from the long time of sitting on the chair. Mobile phones might have a smaller screen but the graphics looks crisp on them. More if you have a high-end phone because their LCD's got even better now.

An application can have many advantages but some are not needed very much. As such, it is up to a gambler whether he gambles through an application or a website. Downloading the application is also sometimes difficult for those who are busy with gambling. Basically according to the place of use a gambler uses his device. If he is in the office or at home then he can certainly do gambling on the computer and many people can manage gambling by mobile even sitting at home. But except for these two places, everyone focuses on mobile devices.

most casinos out there put so much effort in making their websites functional and aesthetically pleasing too, without placing much care on their mobile app. For that reason alone, I have remained an avid fan of visiting gambling sites using my trusty laptop or PC if I can help it, and only ever use Phones to visit gambling sites when I really feel the need to. I think the portability that phones offer are both a blessing and a curse too, as it insinuates the notion of being able to gamble wherever you are which could incite addiction in the process. That is also a reason why I refrained from using phones for gambling as much as possible. With PC, you can rest assured that when you stand up from your chair and start touching grass, you won't have that tic to check your phone and gamble.

When I played slots on a tablet device I thought it really entertaining and addicting, maybe due to the fact the tablet's screen isn't too small like a smartphone's one, while being very interactive. I also thought the experience was much more immersive, however I still prefer desktop for the convenience when doing multiple tasks at same time and also because it's the device I use the most during the day. Moreover, desktop is the best device to browser safely, without misclicking places you weren't supposed to with your fingers.

I believe that gambling can be played on any device, of course, if it does not bring you inconvenience. Personally, I prefer to gamble on the computer, but we all know that sometimes it is not at hand, and we want to play. So very often the smartphone is a wand, especially when you need to pass the time and have nothing to do.

True man. Tablet PCs are just the best of both worlds when you're talking about digital gambling. The screen is sufficiently big to allow for a more immersive experience, plus it's portable as well. Really good stuff. That's the very reason I never really dabbled into investing for a tablet pc, besides the fact that it's extra costs that I have to fork. I believe I'd get addicted to it as well which is something that I actively avoid lmao. In any case, to each his own I guess. If you think tablet PCs are for you then most definitely go for it. I think it's a worthy investment considering the fact that it offers you premium entertainment.

Yes, in the past we could only play online gambling games using only laptop or desktop devices. even then we have to install Java, before we can use Flash. But gradually, the rapid advancement of technology is inevitable. Currently, we can play with any device we want, either using a laptop, desktop or smartphone, it all depends on the users.

So, the answer will be very relative and depends on your needs. I personally prefer to use a smartphone rather than a desktop or laptop device. the answer is simple, because using a smartphone is more efficient than playing on a desktop device. besides that, we can access it wherever we are when we want to play online casino. plus, I prefer using websites over apps. because, there are many factors that make me prefer to go through the direct site rather than the application.

Apart from all that, actually it comes back to our mood, sometimes I use the desktop when betting on football, because at the same time watching the match. for slots, I prefer to use a smartphone. so there is no specific answer for me, because it all depends on the needs.

~ Playing on a desktop or laptop is the most convenient for me. I don't like smaller screens when I want to focus on things that I do like in gambling.

~ I prefer to gamble through the website and not with the casinos app. I just don't want to download anything in my device whatever it is, as much as possible, I want to keep my PC clean from any downloadables or app.

I would love to see some new and interesting gambling technology. Slots are fun but now that we have AI, perhaps we can have AI gamble against/with you? How would that even look like? I know in Japan they put anime idol girls that converse with you while you play the game. I am sure that holds a few people in their seat, which is rather convenient and profitable for the gambling casino owner :D.

Rather than tech devices, perhaps we can develop social software like that in our own western version? Imagine Lucy Liu having a conversation with you while you play slots? That would be fun. We know that AI can easily imitate the voices and faces.

I'm with you, I like the old method, always gambling on the laptop, I don't know if it's about the screen size or how smoothly the game runs, but I still prefer to gamble 100% on a computer than gamble on the phone.

But is good to have access to the casinos from the phone too and I will explain to you why...

Some weeks ago I had to travel to another town to visit my family, and I had that same day a poker tournament, and I was able to play that tournament in the phone while having a good time with my family, that's why is awesome to have access to the casino from the phone, that way we don't miss the tournaments or the money events.

Desktop for sure, I'm comfortable doing things on my desktop and not on tablets or smartphones. I feel that I'm more comfortable gambling and doing my stuff in there.

Secondly, which do you find more convenient: playing a casino game through their app or through their website?
Either of the two but since I've mentioned about how comfortable I was doing things on a desktop then it's gonna be the website.

If we are talking about slots or roulette, then there is no difference - a smartphone or a PC, the interface is quite simple in both cases. But if we are talking about betting (my main entertainment in the field of gambling), then the PC is beyond competition. No matter how convenient a smartphone is, but for quick analytics, searching for statistics, and even just picking long multibets, a PC is much more convenient.

Despite the innovation, HTML5 introduces into the content of website worldwide which make it easy for people to access their favorite website on a different gadget I still never liked the idea of accessing a casino or any gambling site on a smartphone or iPad.
I am the type of person that like privacy and whenever I want to gamble I like doing it to my mind and soul without any distraction cause I believe it to be an investment.
That's why you will never see me supporting the idea of a casino having a mobile app because I don't see any need for it since I prefer to visit casinos through my laptop computer.

My choice of gambling is through smartphone, because my gambling happens all of the sudden. I may end up losing or making little wins. I never allocate time to gamble, that's the reason why I prefer using the smartphone. There are people who spend time for gambling, particularly during the night time. If that's my scenario surely my choice will be Desktop.

Whether it is through smartphone or any other device, luck needs to favour us to enjoy the wager. If not, at some point we'll feel bad and start thinking we shouldn't have gambled now. Fun with gambling happens when you sit with friends and do it for fun.

Would it really matter? On a daily gambling routine, a player would choose what's more convenient. Perhaps a gambling site requires HTML5 but the player prefers to play with ease through smart phone. Basically he'd just move to platforms which would be suitable for his gambling habits. This should be likewise with fiat based gambling platforms the only difference is the mode of payment in this industry. We are all different as gamblers; some do prefer just clicking and go;eitherway is just okay. What should matter more is managing the risks in gambling than to put that much of attention to the device. I'm aware that the relationship between device and platform would yield to security of funds as well. But that's how preference just works.

i can understand that each one of us has our own preference when it comes gambling. i am more on desktop/laptop person also as i want my screen big. if it is on my phone, i still need to zoom in in order for me to see some features. compared it to when you are playing on a 27 inches computer screen and the experience i would say is different.
