Can you tell me why do you want to buy some BTC ? We all know why you should but I want to see what your though process is.  :)

Learn how it works before investing other wise you do not know why it is going to rise and cannot have the belief required to invest. I invested a large sum because I believed in Bitcoin but I would never recommend any one to invest in btc because of fomo instead do your research and if that does not convince you why you need to invest do not do it. When you are researching you will find your answer on how it works and you will not need a mentor :)

OP, first of all you should be aware that every investment is a risk, not just bitcoin.

OP is from Nigeria. A lot of people come here from there, and of course, their interest in Bitcoin is understandable. Problems with the local currency force people to look for better payment methods, and I am glad that in this country you can pay with Bitcoin, as I understand it, quite calmly.
But OP, why are you creating a topic here in the newbie's section? It would be better to get comfortable in your local section first; you have a very good support group. Understand that by asking general questions on one topic, people simply will not be able to provide you with the entire amount of information.

What i want to tell you concerning Bitcoin is that you have to understand the basic the basic things of Bitcoin because going to investment, so the steps to learn Bitcoin and comprehend it's conditions and regulations is through online tutorial and especially through a YouTube videos, And secondly through this community you found yourself. I will partially say that almost 50% of people who are here acquired the knowledge of Bitcoin through bitcointalk. so therefore with observation and research you will understand Bitcoin in the community.

As matter of fact you are at the right place and I know too well before coming to this forum someone's might have explained things to you about the important and usefulness of it.
