Title: Iconic billboard outside SVB
Post by: DatBTCGuy on March 15, 2023, 11:46:18 AM
Just wanted to share this beautiful picture (https://i.imgur.com/axjbl2Q.jpg).

I'm new, so I'm not sure if this is the right section to share the pic. If that's the case, please feel free to move it.

Lmao is that actually legal? I doubt they paid him to have permission to use his face.

For context: the dude is Jerome Powell, the Chair of the US Federal Reserve.

The person behind this must be some Bitcoin fan. He did not had  to disclose his identity to be able to do this. He has to get this printed and get a van hired for some hours. All this can be done without revealing his own identity. He need not pay the person in the poster . I do not encourage phot of some influential people though without their consent for promoting anything. Because this can be abused in a number of ways. My first reaction on seeing the image was that it is photoshopped but I wait for responses on this thread from experts regarding this.

It was indeed photoshopped obviously because why the heck would the chair of federal reserve endorse bitcoin. This is the original photo(Bitcoin sign guy) from years ago that inspired this comical(though likely illegal) ad.

Yes, a BTC fan who correctly wants people to know that their money is only safe when it is with them, through buying BTC and holding it in the correct way. That way their money cannot be traded or used to buy assets by third party services like banks and centralized exchanges, just as Silicon valley bank did with their depositors funds and lost it.

;D ;D This is hilarious! Whomsoever is involved is literally a genius in his own way. I am pretty sure the authorities would take some action against the person behind this mischief in due course time. In a way what is written on that advertisement is correct too.

None could've expected such thing infront of the Silicon Valley Bank Head Quarter. This is done with purpose and surely the police department will be searching for the person who done it. The good thing is the spread about bitcoin in the failure of one of the reputed banks of America. I thought someone have done good editing and did it, but the image is real and taken infront of SVB. The person who had done it is really courageous.

Why would the police search for him?
And even if he would have a reason, they were easy to find since they stayed all the time there, not just dumped the truck and run.

That parking lot is indeed the private property of SVB so indeed they could lawfully have asked them to live but that's it.

I have a feeling that this billboard ad will be seen alongside a lot more banks than just SVB in the near future ::) Hopefully people listen and question whether or not their money is safe in a bank, and learn how to harness the power of Bitcoin...before it's too late for them. Very interesting times right now!

Though am doubting the veracity of this specific photo of a van advertising Bitcoin which is supposedly (of course, it is not) endorsed by the Chairman of the Fed with SVB at the background - at the time when it collapsed due to bad decisions and mismanagement, still I do admire the message which is quite clear: When banks and the traditional financial system is failing we have the best alternative around which the government could not control and that is Bitcoin. I am posting this in my Twitter and Facebook account too.
