Title: Who is most reliable person?
Post by: Greggry on March 19, 2023, 08:28:03 PM
When it comes to bitcoin wallets is totally a kind of private pants for females and boxers for male. Bitcoin wallets is like ATM pin which is assigned to individuals which banks do not respect another person on your behave. Is personal identification number, that's what bitcoin wallets, private keys and seed are. But to some point because of love, trust and spouse lips, we give out our details freely for this person to access.

Can we also show our bitcoin key to someone closer, maybe love, spouse, next of kin?
Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin, a friend or family member and your children who's most preferred and reliable person to give out our information about your bitcoin?

You are barely making sense, but I can guess what you are trying to ask.  :)

To answer your question, I think sharing your private key with someone is a big deal as they will have full access to your bitcoins. If you want to do so, make sure it is someone you really trust and who understands all the risks. It might be tempting to share it with a family member, but they might not know how to keep it safe. As for someone who introduced you to bitcoin, I see no reason why you would do that. If you want to show gratitude, there are alternative and safer ways to do so. So, think carefully before sharing your bitcoin key and make sure you are comfortable with the person you are sharing it with.

Giving out your private key or seed phrase means you want the person to have access to your assets. Once they have it they can carryout transactions without your consent so its best to keep it to yourself. Don't make the mistake and give your keys to anyone especially the person who taught you about bitcoin.
Trust No One because money can be tempting so expect the worse whenever you share your keys with anyone.

Trust can be betrayed most times, so sharing a private key out of love is risky, but by the way, before taking such a decision, you should probably know the person you are dealing with well before disclosing your key to them. If it's your spouse, then you and her may have known yourselves so well for years of marriage because if it's a new marriage, you never know if there will be a breakup. If you want to disclose your seed to your kids, then it can't be only one child you disclose it to. Unless it's only one child you have. So long as you are alive and healthy, you should keep your key to yourself. You could also write things down in a book to keep a record so your children or wife can access your crypto assets if anything happens to you.

Giving someone your private keys or seed phrase cause they introduced you to Bitcoin or taught you about it is a terrible move and 9 times out of 10, they would rip you off.

Trusting a friend or family depends on your relationship with them. If they've proven to be trustworthy you can give them a copy of your backup for safekeeping and as a contingency, should anything happen to you.

It's a matter of trust and if you choose someone who is reliable and trustworthy, the one who understands the importance of keeping this information secure, then, there's no problem with me entrusting my valuable asset with this person.  There's always a risk for this and accept those possible circumstances if you made this decision, your bitcoins could be at risk of theft or loss.

So who is the most reliable person IMO?
Your partner in life, husband or wife.  When you pass away, that could be for your children's future funds.

Trust we have to know who is most relied on in your family but for other people I think it's a big deal because they can access bitcoins anytime if you give them a copy of the private key even though he has taught you about bitcoins to understand, but keep in mind other people's trust will not be entirely good, in fact when they see a lot of your assets they will act to take your bitcoins.

The safest is never to share the private key with anyone even if he is not your real partner.

At the moment I still haven't shared the private key including my wife who I love at the moment I'm still keeping it longer and it's still being resolved, but most likely later I will share the private key with my wife for my children later when I'm getting old.

Until now, it is still holding itself for the private key that is owned.

I would like to not let anyone know that I am investing in Bitcoin and surely never let them know about information of my bitcoin. I guess by "information about your bitcoin", you meant that it is about wallet private key or mnemonic seed, didn't you?

If you mean this, it is very risky and never is a thing you should do. Except if you plan to give that amount of bitcoin to someone as inherited gift for them.

You can create a new wallet with an amount you want to give away to someone, with locktime.

It's generally not recommended to share your Bitcoin private key or any other sensitive information with anyone, including your loved ones or family members, unless it's absolutely necessary. Your private key is essentially your password to access your Bitcoin, and if someone else has access to it, they can potentially steal your Bitcoin or misuse it.

However, you can share information about your Bitcoin with someone you trust, such as a close family member or friend, without actually sharing your private key. For example, you can tell them about your investment in Bitcoin, how you manage your Bitcoin wallet, and your overall strategy for buying, selling, and holding Bitcoin.

If you want to ensure that your Bitcoin is passed on to your loved ones in the event of your death, you can consider setting up a legal will or trust that includes instructions for how your Bitcoin should be transferred to your heirs. You can also consider using a multi-sig wallet, which requires multiple private keys to access your Bitcoin, and give one of the private keys to a trusted family member or friend.

Ultimately, the decision to share your Bitcoin information with someone is a personal one that should be carefully considered based on your individual circumstances and the level of trust you have with the person in question. It's important to remember that once you share your private key or any other sensitive information, you lose control over your Bitcoin and the risks associated with it increase.

For now, it is not time to give the private key, seed phrase to all of them. It's just time to let them know that we have their most valuable asset. Giving them the seed phrase or private key is the same as giving them the opportunity to access something valuable.
Personally, I would give it to a loved one like my wife someday and she's the one I trust to have it, even though no one I trust should have access to it at first.

If I'm not mistaken, the essence of your question is who can be trusted to hold the private key if something happens to you. This question is very common, the answers are always varied. Early anticipation is needed to save assets if something happens to you, your wife, children, brothers, sisters and other family members can be used as trusted people to hold the private key.
The child will inherit all the wealth you have, he deserves to be entrusted with accessing your wallet. If your child is still small or don't understand how to access a wallet, a wife is someone you can trust.

Why not? Each bitcoiner has the right to do with his btc whatever he pleases and can share information about his keys with anyone. Of course, this should be a trusted person to whom you are basically ready to leave your btc as an inheritance or simply give it away. It doesn't matter at all who it will be, a relative, friend or stranger. An important point is trust and willingness to give him bitcoin. In particular, one should not forget about this person's awareness of BTC. He should know the basics of using and safely storing bitcoin so as not to lose it.

Just make sure you choose the right person. I see it as a combination of trusted custodian and heir.

It depends because everyone is different in carrying out this opinion and some don't even give it to anyone even though he has a wife and children to inherit it, depending on whether he wants to show it to those he loves or not as long as it's right according to you.

More, don't talk about bitcoin to anyone, especially with the amount shown, just give me the seed phrase if you really love it, but the closest relationship is children, so they can share the seed phrase with them when they grow up.

I don't want to be rash I will be very careful and careful when giving seed phrases even though it is my child, I will definitely test him how he can do that well and the bitcoins I give him.

I don't want to take a big risk, so I need longer deliberations.

The only one who can answer and decide that is you because you know those people and how they are, but I personally woulnd't trust anyone else other than my wife and my parents with something as sensitive as this is.

While people should be generally careful regarding these things, I don't think that its a smart thing to not have a contingency plan in case something happens to you. In my case, my wife has the access to the Ledger's seed phrase and instructions what to do in case something happened to me as it would suck if all my effort in all these years goes in vain. Now someone might say "your wife might end up stealing your crypto and running away" and while that's true, if I don't trust her with money, why the hell would I even stay married to her?

Bitcoin wallet private keys are far more important than your bank's ATM pin because if you lost your ATM pin it can be recovered, all you need to do is visit the bank, you can even decide to change your ATM pin code if you wish but you can't change your private key, the numbers will remain the same forever until you are done with the wallet.

The reason why you would want to share your keys with spouse or friends is because you trust them, which is not a bad thing, but I prefer telling them to open their own wallet and send what I can to them, especially friends, you can't trust any.

The person who taught you about Bitcoin isn't always a genuine person, I think you've no experience about someone you trust backstabbed you.

If you have a wife and child, it's better to teach your wife first and then when your child gets older, you can teach him because you need to pass your Bitcoin to the next generation if you don't want to lose your coins. It's all depends on your child how he will use your coins, all you need is trust him.

There is no one trustworthy enough to share a phrase and private key with. Even the person who introduces me to Bitcoin knows the risk of sharing such data with him/her, and as such, even if one wants to make such a mistake by sharing the key phrase with his/her mentor, the teacher will definitely reject it, if he/she wants to be on the safe side. Because if I have access to your private key or phrase and something happens to your holdings in that wallet because of your carelessness, your first suspect will definitely be the person whom you know has access to your key, and that will spoil the good the person has done for you. To keep a healthy friendship or relationship, we should always keep those from them.

But to some point I do recommend sharing key phrase with a few trusted party either spouse, blood or anyone just as @Rikafip have said, who you know can grab access to your wallet when one have some kind of issue which might restrain him access to the wallet, either bad health condition which ever the case maybe.

Trust is what really matters in life and the only people that we can trust are our closed ones especially our spouse. Your phrase seed shouldn't be exposed to anyone irrespective of whom the person is to you. I can only let my husband know about my seed phrase because he know the risk involved in disclosing your seed phrase to someone.

Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin, a friend or family member.
You don't have any reason to disclose your seed phrase to someone that taught your about bitcoin because you don't owe him anything and he might end up playing smart on you, since betrayal is part of human nature. If your seed phrase is disclosed to someone that is not part of you,it is a must that your coin will be stolen either by the person that you disclosed it to,or someone that will have access to it from the person that you disclosed it to due to carelessness.

Well it's your possession and asset and only you can determine who to give and who not to give.
I personally think giving out your seed phrase or pass key solely depends on how much trust you might have for the next person and how secured you think your possessions might be with them else it's not advisable to give out your private keys to someone else as it gives automatic access to your coins and holdings.

I've seen cases of people who give out their private keys to their spouse not just for the sake of trust but just incase of neccesity or demise of the original owner, the spouse would still have access to the coin rather than loss all of its possessions.

Please because someone introduced you to Bitcoin or helped you create a wallet isn't a guaranty for you to release your private key to them except you're ready to face the consequences just incase things go wrong.

In all, please do well to key your seed phrase safe and private as there is this saying "not your key, not your coins"

As you can see, everyone has different opinions, and this will always be the choice of the owner himself. If you own a significant amount but are sick and do not know how long you can last in this life, you can entrust your keys to your loved ones, wife, husband, children, and friends. People should always have a person they can trust. If there are no such people, you can feel sorry for such a person.
But if you are young and full of health, and are just at the beginning of investing in bitcoin, try to rely only on your strength. Become your own bank, as Satoshi himself intended.
In any case, Bitcoin is good because it always leaves the choice to the person.

...and then peeps talk about trust? Especially When you've only been shown how to HODL without being properly oriented on the DO's and DON'Ts, how to avoid every possible scam, What's yours personally and should remain your privacy except otherwise....
They'll simply ask you to go copy them seedphrase and paste for them, all in a bid to something you won't even care to ask, since you're not even tutored how the whole system works... before you'll realize what happens, your whole wallet's empty, then you'll begin trolling with BTC's impeccable name as being a SCAMMY project......I believe this is the reason why you were introduced into BTT.

OP when it comes to money no one is reliable, even friends or family, specially if its a big amount of money, maybe that will work in the old days, but still there is a percentage that they will stab you in the back, as a golden rule, never share your keys to anyone, because even though you trust them, they might accidentally, leak or share the keys without knowing that its very important, greed will turn people backs around you i guarantee you that, in my experience, the person i trust before, hates me after we hit a jackpot on a certain coin, he now believes that he is better than anyone, he thinks he is better to anyone in the group.

Trust is something people find very difficult to have when it comes to something private but we forget that nothing last for ever. The password or private pin you have with you can just be there while you're gone, to me is best you take the hardest decision go outside the box and trust that one person, I'd prefer your wife or girlfriend and you must be sure if that person is worth it...

I completely agree with lovesmayfamilis and others. It's important to have someone you can trust with your cryptocurrency funds in case something happens to you. It's also important to consider the level of risk you're comfortable with. If you're young and healthy, it might be best to take control of your own investments and be your own bank. But if you're older or have health concerns, it's wise to have someone trustworthy to take over. It's all about personal choice and finding the right balance between security and accessibility.

However, I also think it's important to educate yourself on the best security practices for storing your cryptocurrency, regardless of whether you're entrusting it to someone else or holding onto it yourself. No one cares about your money as much as you do, so it's important to take the necessary precautions to keep your investments safe.

I am still struggling to understand what you're trying to point, OP. Though I kinda get it that you're asking on who you should entrust your Bitcoin and your private keys, right? Just think of it as giving your ATM card to others which you kinda already mentioned. Surely not a single soul would do that.

Even though the person you trusted the most including your wife, you may want to keep it secret for now until the "right" time comes for you to at least share a little bit of details about it but again it is your privacy that you might give away at the end.

so far I control my assets. no one knows what the key or seed is to open my wallet. I also thought what if something happened to me and no one would be able to access the assets in my wallet.
I'm still looking for the right person, but not for now. but I will teach how to use the wallet, not tell the key or seed of my wallet. and what I will tell you is where I keep my wallet key or seed. and what I can confirm after all the people I taught would not dare to open the place where I put the key or the seed wallet .

Bitcoin wallets, private keys, and seed phrases are indeed like personal identification numbers, and it's important to keep them private and secure to prevent unauthorized access to your funds.

However, there may be some circumstances where you may want to share this information with someone else, such as a spouse, next of kin, or trusted friend or family member. If you decide to share this information, it's important to make sure that the person is trustworthy, understands the importance of keeping the information secure, and has a good understanding of how to use Bitcoin.

It's also important to note that sharing this information with someone else comes with inherent risks, as you're essentially giving them access to your funds. So, before sharing your Bitcoin wallet, private keys, or seed phrase with anyone, it's important to carefully consider the potential risks and benefits and make sure you're comfortable with your decision

A person who you can trust with your crypto or assets anytime you ask for it and that goes the same to you if that person is also asking. A person who can guarantee the safety of your assets and never betray you. That kind of person is hard to find so I would say that's if you have a friend or a family like that then you are a very lucky person to have a person you can rely on or the most reliable person you know.

We all know the importance of our keys and for that we can't share with anyone all less in most cases if is deem necessary before we could initiate that otherwise there's no need to share our keys and seed phrase to anyone else.
You can't entrusted your wallet to someone who might withdraw all your funds without you knowing who gets involved of doing that action, so it's advisable not share this important part of your life.

How much trust you have into that person will determine that whether you can share your keys with them or not as it will give them full access of your funds. When there is money factor involved many relationships witnessed betrayal and your funds can be lost if they have some bad intentions. So my advice is you can tell them you have invested in Bitcoin so in case they can access funds if something happens to you.

You have a choice because if you truly understand the principles behind the private key, you will understand how important it is because it is the only key that controls your Bitcoin in your wallet, which means it is something private.
Giving your private information to someone, regardless of your relationship with that person, requires trust, which is especially important these days because some people we trust betray us, and once your Bitcoin is sent out, it is irreversible.

no need to think complicated for this problem.
You must have a relative or partner, if it's true that you want to share your bitcoin key, it should be with the person closest to you, who knows your struggle from scratch, who knows everything about you, namely your partner.

but I suggest if it's not important don't tell anyone about your bitcoin private key, such thing is very risky, it's better to keep your bitcoin key safe.

Find someone you really trust, you can teach him if he don't know how to use it. It is necessary to share the private key with the second party, this is the same as a spare key. If the main key is lost, you can still start the car with the spare key. Everyone never knows how old it will be, before something happens to you, you need someone you trust who can take all the assets you have stored in your wallet.

It's okay to share your private key(s) with spouse based on trust and proven integrity.but to share these keys with someone that introduced you to Bitcoin is an emphatic No.as a matter of fact that's why it's called PRIVATE key,so it ought to be private.its even perfect to keep your private key(s) offline or rather secure them on paper wallet or hardware wallet rather than on a device to prevent your wallet accessed via the internet.this is so important because your private key is an integral part of cryptocurrency therefore my advice is that you need to treat with utmost caution just to protect your asset.

Can we also show our bitcoin key to someone closer, maybe love, spouse, next of kin?
Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin, a friend or family member and your children who's most preferred and reliable person to give out our information about your bitcoin?

Since your private key and seeds phrase are the things that can access your wallets, sharing them with others is not recommended since once someone has access to them, they can take control of your wallet. Because death can happen at any time and we don't plan for it, we only need to disclose your private key with trusted family members because we know it will be difficult for them to resist temptation and prevent them from betraying you.but as for me now have not disclose my private key to anyone because I have find  the trust person that is close be seriously.

I agree with the others that it is more base on trust to know who is most reliable person. You can't just say that a person you know is reliable and sooner or later that same person have fooled you into thinking he is a reliable person that you can trust especially if you trust your private key or seed phrase to that person with a funds stored in there. Anyway, sharing your private key or seed phrase should not be the first thing you do rather than keeping it yourself to make it safe as possible as you could make it.

I completely agree with you that sharing your private key or seed phrase should not be the first thing you do. In fact, it's generally recommended that you never share your private key or seed phrase with anyone, even if you trust them. Your private key and seed phrase are critical pieces of information that give anyone who possesses them access to your cryptocurrency wallet and the funds inside.
It's important to take steps to safeguard your private key and seed phrase by storing them securely, preferably in a hardware wallet or a cold storage solution. You should also never share them over email or any other insecure communication channel.
It's important to exercise caution when it comes to trusting other people with your cryptocurrency funds. While it's possible to verify the reliability and trustworthiness of some individuals through various means, it's important to remember that there is always a risk involved when trusting others with your funds. Ultimately, it's up to you to take responsibility for your own security and make informed decisions when it comes to managing your cryptocurrency assets.

Does it really necessary to show gratitude by that way? Maybe think about your safety first before thinking about showing a gratitude like that to the person who teach you about bitcoin. Since good people can change to evil if money is involve in discussion so to avoid getting bad blood to the person who you think a good person better keep your keys privately. You can give them other things like a part of your earned money or gifts for sure they appreciate what you give to them.

Who is most reliable person?

Nobody.. Protect your key with all that you got, if you feel like sharing your assets with anyone then send them some percentage of it and hold unto your wallet phrase with maximum security. If you want the text of a king thing then move all your money to the Banking sector, so that when you can no longer have access to the account your bank can send a message to your next of kin.
For security reasons, you are the best guard over all your crypto assets.

I think it depends on your decision, you might decide to tell someone your private key and you might decide to keep it as a secret, you can come here to ask people who you are to share your private key with, if I will advice you, I will ask you to keep it to yourself, when it comes to money, nobody should be trusted, even if it's your family member. But if you really want to share your private key with anyone, then you should decide yourself, you know people that can be trusted and the once that can't be trusted in your family, so I think you should look for the person that can be trusted.

But remember that whoever has the private key of the wallet owns it.

Whoever has the private key can also own the assets in it. It takes a high level of trust in the person holding the private key as back to back should anything happen to you. The value of trust is very subjective, around our lives there are still people who can hold trust without any intention to betray those who have put their trust in them. It is necessary to find someone who can be trusted to save the asset if the owner of the asset suddenly has a long-term coma or has a permanent stroke.

I guess there are stil some person's that are reliable,  even though you showed them you personal details they will never have any negative thinking about your money, than to tell you not to dispose your wallet seeds or password to anyone again for security purpose. My advise to you, never you show anybody include your best friend or relative your wallet address so that they will not have access to your wallet to withdraw your money. But you can trust your child to let he or she know your wallet seeds in case anything happen to your life they will have access to your wallet at the moment.

The betrayal stories I've heard about always get carried out by trusted people, those who are very close to you and you also trust them, a stranger can't betray you, it is always someone you know very well, when money is involved, the devil will keep lurking around, I advise not to trust any living soul, keep your wallet to yourself, we have heard about wife killing their husbands because of money and properties, a lot of money is powerful enough to corrupt the soul of the living.

I don't really know why the OP is trying to hand over his private key to some one, I don't really think it make any senses trusting someone with your private key, if you can give your private key to anyone, then you are handling over all the money in the wallet to the person. Incase if there is any critical condition and the OP thinks someone needs to know his private key, then the OP should check the most trusted person around him, nobody will select for him on the forum because nobody knows who he really trust, sometimes you might trust your friend more than your family member.

The biggest mistake not to fall into is to share bitcoin seed phrase with friends,  no matter how tight the friendship is. Not even trust should be a reason to share seed phrase with friends, you can't predict people.  People can change or your friend can be careless with the seed phrase and it gets to the notice of a total strangers. If at all seed phrase needs to be shared it must be not more than one family member that's is trusted and not careless. Sharing bitcoin seed phrase is not just about someone who has trust but one who is very careful. Considering only trust and the person is careless their are high possibility that it can be exposed to strangers.

If you are married, you can share everything including wallet keys with your loved one so that your coins will not lost when you eventually die.

having a partner and being married would be better, sharing a private key in case we can't do anything and need the help of the most trusted person, namely our partner.
But it's very different when you don't have a partner and don't have someone you trust.
Apart from that, family also seems to be the most trusted people, but everyone has a different affinity with their family. Make sure you have someone you trust and will continue the wallet that we have, don't let it get lost and no one opens it. Quite a lot of assets in a crypto wallet can become an inheritance which certainly provides true financial freedom.

Op giving out your password, private key, and seed phrase is a personal decision as others have said, like if I may also add to what others have already said, the way you want to will your properties, can use as the private key to a trusted person who can utilize the funds very well when you are not around. In a family anyhow the members stubborn or wicked, there must be a person that is good that you trust which can look after your fund for you or for the sustainable of the business. And you are to give someone that is highly technological so that the coins can be save but if you give to someone who is not good in bitcoin Ecosystem, the person might misuse them. Now, whom do you trust is another big question. But since you know your family members characters, you would know who is good and who is bad. It is not not good to leave this world without telling someone about your private key. In Fiat banks when you die, the next of kin can claim your money in the bank but in bitcoin there is no such. Once you left the world without telling someone about the private key then your Coins are lost forever. So tell someone before you leave.

This will completely depend on you and the people you trust. If it's just friends, general family, or a couple you haven't known for a long time, I won't describe it to them. Or the trust is limited to a number of things. And telling them this is very risky. Unless it's your marriage partner who really has 1 vision and goals for your little family, and this will also depend on the individual. I personally believe in my partner, so far he has even helped me to manage crypto assets, for the sake of our children. I've known him for more than 15 years, and I trust him. however, I do not provide these personal data to other family members, including my parents or younger siblings. It's not a matter of disbelief or anything, but there is privacy that sometimes doesn't need to be conveyed to other people.

But one disadvantage people face is that some of the family members maybe the one you trust may not be interested in bitcoin and cryptocurrency. So even when they have the keys, they still need the help of someone to be able to get the monies of the wallets.
That is why I recommend that you teach a trusted someone about bitcoin before sharing the keys.

Trustworthy people are very hard to find. You can't trust even your spouse because the heart of men is filled with evil. Materialism and greed rule the world which is why there is a high increase in criminal activities. People don't really care about relationships because they are only seeking what to gain and not what to offer. We have heard the news of children killing parents, wives killing husbands, and friends killing friends because they want to access the victim's money.

I will not openly say who I trust or who has access to keys because the forum is also a public domain. It might be risky to unveil it to the public. But because I know that I am a mortal that might die any day, there is a need to show someone I trust where my keys are. To be specific, I trust just one person in this world.

Even if people we trust often betray us, I think Crypto can be said to be an inheritance to our family and children in the future, because we don't know when we will die. Just a word of advice regarding crypto inheritance with significant amounts of fiat:
1. Use an air-gapped hardware wallet, don't throw away the original packaging (box, manual, etc).
2. The private key in the form of BIP39 is printed and laminated, then covered with an easy-to-remove sticker.
3. Put both (including packaging, etc.) into a locked safety box.
4. Save the safety box in a trusted bank deposit box.
5. Make a will with legal experts, which contains concrete steps on how to access and monetize the crypto as completely and as clearly as possible, including what if scenarios if there is an error (we assume a lay person accesses).

A private key is not a personal Identification number and a Bitcoin wallet is not like an ATM, these are two different technologies that operate on separate models, Private key doesn't identify who you are but enable you to prove ownership and spend your bitcoin. Bitcoin wallet just helps you to manage your private keys, it doesn't have any similarities to an ATM at all.

Except you are ready to lose that Bitcoin at any time, your wallet seed phrase or private keys don't have to be revealed to anyone because when it becomes compromised, anyone can deny they didn't spend your bitcoin and you will have no one to blame. If you must give access to any bitcoin, make sure it is the one you don't want to protect again, maybe you feel like giving that one out but your main private keys must remain a mystery people should never know.

If you trust your family to that extent then the call is yours, there is a reason why many people label money as the devil.

1. Money has made mothers to abandon her child.
2. Money has made children to use their parents for voodoo or rituals.
3. Money has made many men lose their women to other men.
4. Money has made many friends to betray their friends.

Many people have lost their lives because they trust someone they shouldn't have, so I urge everyone to be careful, if the money you have is very attractive, like a high amount of money, please keep it yourself, if you want to inherit your asset to your kids make sure you do it right, by not revealing how much your asset is worth, your blood can become a devils tool because of greed.

Buy them wallets instead and share the amount you are ok to give them to the wallets, then hand the wallets over after you are sure that they can transact on the blockchain.

Trust is such an expensive goods that hardly will you see a trusted buyer. Trusting love one either family or friend is actully good but due to the rate of betrayal in the world today, there is no trust no more. Most times it is your loved once that will betray you the most.
I once trusted my fiance with my debit card pin. When we had issues she used it to withdraw my money. That made me to change the pin and never disclose my personal information to anyone.
I will never disclose my bitcoin information to anyone. I have trust issues.

I can not understand actually you are serious or just kidding. Btw I will suggest never sharing your private key with anyone. If you do so this means that you don't care about your money. If you really need to share the keys with someone, the father and mother are the people you can share I think. But don't share it to them also if they don't know the value of your private keys. Otherwise, sometimes they can reveal it to someone at some point :)

A wise and appropriate way to provide education in advance to several trusted family members. If they already know and understand what bitcoin is and know how to use it, we won't worry anymore. They can manage our wallet well when we can't use it anymore.
But you also need to remember, Tell them about the risks that will occur in bitcoin or crypto, because I'm afraid they will panic at the price fluctuations that occur.

Your line of thought is very simple for the security concerns of the bitcoins you have, in some cases it doesn't make sense to give the private key to any of the people you mention, unless you really trust them to keep your assets or in the worst case you begin to pass on a bequest of assets that you own if at any time you do not have the opportunity to keep those assets anymore.

But generally nothing can guarantee when you start giving private keys to other people, even if it's family, closest relatives or someone you trust, unless like the worst case that I told you and you intend to pass on the assets to the family as a successor

Sharing Bitcoin private keys should be very careful. They can take your Bitcoin at any time if they are not trusted people. I simply don't share it with a friend, I only trust my family for a private thing. In my opinion, sharing private keys with wife or children (must be mature, 18+) is the best option. However, make sure you give some lessons to them, so they understand how to use it someday. Before you share private keys, you must share important knowledge with them as well. At least, they know how to use it and they know that Bitcoin isn't a bad thing for the future. Don't share to someone who dislikes Bitcoin/crypto!!  ;D

Pants is a general name for a piece of garment worn to enclose both legs and elongate to the knee. Underpants might be what your laying reference to here but, even underpants are made public and that you could easily find at the beach. This makes the analogy your trying to make a little out of place as, private key or seed phrases aren't supposed to be exposed in any circumstance to the public eye or a third party and you'll be cool wth it.

The fact that, your coin could be transfered without you even knowing whom might have done that, even though you could trace the address(es) in which the coin was moved is what makes the whole idea of letting any individual aware of your private key or seed phrase. It's a master code that could function in any reset nd that isn't in your best interest.

We all should share our private keys with anyone no matter how we trust a person that's the general rule I mean it's privacy and you're the only one who should have control of your own wallet, but it doesn't really matter since its still your decision if you really trust a friend or your family you could easily give it to them anyway, when someone is teaching you bitcoin they should not know your private key they should tell you that your the only one you should know about that private key if he wants to know your private key that might be an issue because he might get your bitcoin in the future, he might have a plan already to steal your bitcoin in the future that's why he's teaching you how to invest or buy bitcoin.

I would understand giving your private key to your family since we need someone to inherit our bitcoin, but I wouldn't give it to them easily, I'll just write it down on a paper or notebook and then tell someone in my family who I trust that I have a bitcoin wallet.

Trust is the most difficult thing to keep, you have to find someone who can hold the trust you give. Siblings can still be counted on, but not all of them can be trusted. You can also teach your wife how to use Wallet, in general she can be trusted because of her position as the mother of your children.
You have to find the right person to take care of the assets in your Wallet, I'm sure you can read all the characters of the people around in your life. Of the several members of your family, there must be one honest person.

Oh, what interesting imagery! But I won't use that parable if I were you, haha. Why? Because it's not about the title (someone closer, maybe love, spouse, next of kin) that you've mentioned (which, in your figure of speech, probably can touch private pants for females and boxers for males). I don't advise sharing the private keys or seed phrases with anyone, but if you have to, IMHO, there are three conditions to fulfill before you share them with others. First, only share them with TRUSTED individuals. Second, share it with the person who NEED to know. Third, who UNDERSTAND the value and significance of protecting this information. So, depending on this criteria, I think you may consider more about who could know about the information.

Can we also show our bitcoin key to someone closer, maybe love, spouse, next of kin?
Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin, a friend or family member and your children who's most preferred and reliable person to give out our information about your bitcoin?
It was not a wrong move to let any of your family members know what you are doing but when it comes to the private keys or any information that will risk the safety of your investment or whatever it is, better to disclose it to them. Besides, it was not necessary unless you feel like you can't handle it anymore due to some health issues. As you know that money is tempting, but people become evil when it comes to that which is why you should be careful with your keys just for that sake. You can tell them about Bitcoin and nothing else.

But to some point because of love, trust and spouse lips, we give out our details freely for this person to access.

this depends on yourself, if you trust the people closest to you then you can tell anything you know about bitcoin (including your own wallet), but i personally have the principle that i have to have a secret that only i know and will tell it to other people when the time is right.  We don't know what will happen in the future, it could be that our close relatives spread information to other people about the bitcoins that we have so that we become the target of criminals.

I don't believe it's a good idea to give your private keys or bitcoin keys to someone close to you while you are still healthy and young; doing so is a risky and easy way to make your life miserable because your bitcoin will be gone as soon as you do so to your son, wife, or any other person you truly trust, because these days, close friends and family members have the power to hurt you more than anyone else, and when it comes to wealth, it's very risky to do so, in my view, while you are still healthy, don't give your relatives access to your bitcoin private keys.

for what purpose do you want to do such a thing, if you want to give those keys or phrases on what basis, are you going to retire to trading, do you want to bequeath your assets.
if not so better keep the key phrase safe, so it's safer and more secure.

You cannot keep a private key secret from your family members, as you must understand that the life of any person can suddenly end. In this case, along with death, the funds stored on the wallet and in which your family members will want will become unavailable.

No one, if you think otherwise wait till you get hit hard, you will get up and learn so, your choice, as I am right now, I don't trust a soul, not even people around me because there are some cases where money caused a big stir in the family, there is no way you would know who is born greedy or not, maybe when I get married some day I can consider giving my private key to my wife and kids.

Lol love the word play in this and how you describe how Bitcoins privacy is to be respected ;)

The fact that crypto can not be accessed by forced entry except in a few rare cases were a wallet can be brute forced and because of this it's only fair and unselfish that we pass this crypto onto the next ones without leaving these coins to be forever forgotten when family can make use of the crypto money.

Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin, a friend or family member and your children who's most preferred and reliable person to give out our information about your bitcoin?
Let the kids have this as a present, with crypto being the future they are pretty much going to figure this out, better yet a mnemonic can be left with words being mambo jumbled with life events that they only can know answes too.

To be honest it very difficult to give the bitcoin wallet to any of the following people you mentioned and I believe their all family members. Know that this people you mentioned can betray you at anytime. Let say for instance you gave the details to your wife, and one day she is asking you for money and you said to her you don't have and later you received a email telling you that you have transferred so so amount of bitcoin from your account, or marriage didn't wake out between you and her again and she already have access to your wallet, that means you are in great danger.

For your children and friends they can not be trusted too. They can turn to your enemy tomorrow. You have to keep it away from the person that introduces you, because anyone have their own blessing and have different destiny, if eventual you are doing better than him, not everyone have the mind of you great than them.

It's important to understand that sharing your bitcoin private keys or seed phrase with anyone, including those closest to you, can pose a significant security risk. This is because anyone with access to your private keys or seed phrase has complete control over your bitcoin and can potentially steal or transfer it without your permission.

While it may be tempting to share this information with someone you trust, it's generally not recommended. Instead, it's better to take steps to ensure that your private keys and seed phrase are stored securely and that you are the only person who has access to them.

If you do want to share information about your bitcoin with someone, such as a friend or family member, it's important to do so in a way that does not compromise your security. This could include sharing information about bitcoin in general, or showing them how to use a bitcoin wallet without giving them access to your private keys or seed phrase.

Ultimately, the decision to share information about your bitcoin with others is a personal one, and it's important to weigh the potential risks and benefits carefully before making a decision

My family either it can be my partner or parents or most likely to split between them but as of now I am not gave access to the seeds or private keys to anyone however I told them where they can find if I am not be able to tell them by myself while the catch is its under my custody and my siblings are the only persons where I stored them.

The person differs for everyone so there is no point of asking who is that person because its completely irrelevant to others.

I don't get your question, does it mean you don't no whom You could rely on?, well You can only trust someone you are sure that will not betray you with your Bitcoin, but family members is mostly reliable and trust worthy because you would have known him all your life on how he is.

You should be aware that anyone can betray you, including members of your family or close friends, when it comes to sharing your private key or seed phrase.

Never give your private key or seed phrase to someone who has more Bitcoin knowledge than you do since they could easily access your money.

As your next of kin, you should ideally be able to trust at least one of your children or siblings to provide your seed phrase or private key because nobody knows when they'll die. Your life may be taken at any time by God.

It is clear that anyone that have our private key can access our wallet, with that we are advised not to share our private keys or anything that can make anyone have access to our wallets apart from us.

But we have no option rather than to share with trust once because death is not what we do plan for and it can occur at any fucking time without any notice. Death does not determine age or someone health condition before it occurs,so we have  to Share our share private key to love trusted once, incase we are no more life our love once can get access to our fund easily. But the only thing that is there is for we to get that closer trusted person to share it with, because money is a temptation and it can attempt anybody and nobody is above to betray, but it will be better for  our family to betray us than someone easily, and that is why we should share it with our husbands, wives and our unclear family. currently I have not share my private key with anybody but I have written it down on my diary at where those private keys are kept at different location but I make sure my dairy is not public.

It makes no sense to give someone else your private key and giving someone else your private key or seed phrase will give them access to your assets. You should carefully consider giving out the private key to someone else, as the risk of losing assets is much greater.

It's another case when you intend to bequeath these assets to your children or wife, I intend to give them full access rights someday, but first provide an understanding so that when they have access they don't use our assets for things that are harmed, for example such as selling to unfavorable conditions.

Your question is quite technical to give a direct answer as the issue of trust with bitcoin wallet is one of unending debate as to who and why such trust should be handed to with your wallet seeds phrase. We can't really see or way what the future holds in a relationship between people what the outcome might be so to be on the safe side you keep your keys to yourself despite the relativeness.

If you continue to think that way, losing yourself so to say because of the entrapment of female anatomy, then you're more likely to get into trouble than out of it.

Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin...
This part captures an experience I had in 2021. Let me share that with you. I was teaching someone about Bitcoin and trading. When I got to wallet security and safety, I drummed it into my student NEVER to reveal his passphrase or password to anyone; not even to me. I included myself in it. Lecture continued for the rest of that day.

Two days later, while dwelling on a different topic, I asked him to send me his passphrase that I wanted to check for something. He refused, reminding me of what I told him. I pushed further and told him to remember I was different since I was the one teaching him. That broke his defense. He released his passphrase to me. BTW, it was an unused empty wallet for practice. I laughed him to scorn and reminded him how he should never give it out. He felt sorry for himself. I believe my shared experience answers that part of your question now.

The only time one can give that out should be in one's will.

Yes, it seems that he believes in you. He believes you are a good person for successfully teaching him. But from there he's also smart because he gives you a blank wallet password and password. It indicates that you have taught him well. He lives what you exemplify.
Even myself wouldn't give prifatkeys, passwords to people who have taught me, that's crazy. Even my family hasn't figured out what my wallet password is. But I have written in some notes. This is because I hope my wife or child finds out if one day I die. Because I work for my son and wife, so I will give my wife the password sometime when the time comes.

Yes, he did believe in me. However, I was teaching him at the time the principle of "never you trust anyone in this crypto industry". So, he failed the test.

Quote

Not really that. It was a wallet I tutored him to open. I knew it was blank. Even after he unwittingly gave me his passphrase, I told him to discard that wallet and open a new one.

Yeah, that should be the attitude. That's in case who dies intestate.

Ownership of a bitcoin wallet implies the possession of the corresponding private keys, which are essential for accessing a bitcoin address and performing transactions. It is not recommended to show your private key or seed phrase to anyone, as this can lead to the loss or theft of your bitcoins.
However, if you really want to share your bitcoins with your loved ones, there are ways to do so without having to hand over private keys. For example, you can create a new address and send bitcoins to it, and then share this address with the people you need.

The seed wallet that we keep is very personal. even people who teach us to make wallets also will not ask to be able to know our seeds.
sharing it with others, even with our loved ones is also not good. especially for those who already know how Bitcoin wallets and trading work. it's too risky. because you know that for every crime that occurs, the people closest to you are the first to be most suspected.
you gave a pretty good suggestion, it's better to make a new wallet for them than to share the seeds of the wallet we have.

I agree with you on that, I think it is not a very bright idea to give access to your funds to someone no matter how much you trust them. If you ask me, there is only one person in the whole wide world that I trust more than myself and that is my mother, and she knows nothing about technology and everything, especially Bitcoin, and I think that is the case with most of us.

So basically, it is better if we don't give anyone access, but we should write a will and describe in it where we have kept the private keys, etc. So that when the will is read after we are dead, the funds are not wasted and accessed.
