Title: Which cryptocurrency will lead the currency market in near 5 years?
Post by: coinremitter on March 23, 2023, 09:29:20 AM
I think bitcoin will lead the currency market because it was created as a way for people to send money over the internet. There are many advantages of bitcoin like Direct Transfer, Greater Liquidity, Security and so on. Bitcoin's maximum supply is limited to 21 million coins. Cryptocurrency gains value when demand rises higher than supply. for that i think bitcoin will lead the currency market in near 5 years. Which currency you think will lead?

Bitcoin always has led the market, and I don't think it's gonna change anytime soon. Don't see any reason for that.

It is worth mentioning that among them all, bitcoin is also the most decentralized, also I believe that old Luna, UST and FTT are not the last altcoins that will fail people to the extent that they will lose greatly. It is wise to invest in bitcoin.

Which currency you think will lead?
There are tens of thousands of cryptocurrencies (altcoins) that have been created, bitcoin dominance as of today is over 46%. Ether which is the second with the high dominance is not even up to half of bitcoin dominance.

There is Bitcoin and 20,000 copycats also known as shitcoins. Shitcoins are only good to multiply your BTC but nothing more. Owning BTC will be the safest bet in the long run.

The world of cryptocurrency is made up of two entities which are Bitcoin and the rest. Many altcoin creators have boasted that their coin will overtake Bitcoin and make the coin lose its number one spot. But all their bragging and predictions have been futile. When OneCoin came on board, its owner Ruja Ignatova boasted that in two years her coin will make bitcoin obsolete. After just a year and six months, OneCoin vanished and many investors lost billions. Bitcoin has many features that most altcoins can't copy or easily imbibe. Bitcoin will keep leading the crypto market because no altcoin has better features that can make them dethrone the king of the crypto world: Bitcoin. In five years the gap between bitcoin and other coins will keep expanding.

I think Ethereum will lead the currency market in the near future. Ethereum is the second-largest crypto asset by market capitalization and is seen as a viable alternative to Bitcoin. It has a wide range of use cases and is backed by a strong development team. Ethereum's transactions are faster and cheaper than Bitcoin's and its smart contract technology offers a wide range of potential applications. Ethereum also has a larger total supply than Bitcoin, making it less scarce and thus more accessible to a larger group of users. It also has a more decentralized network structure than Bitcoin, making it more resistant to censorship and manipulation,  Ethereum has the potential to become the leading cryptocurrency in the near future

Which currency you think will lead?

As long as altcoins are created with the intention of selling tokens, pumping and dumping for profit, bitcoin will still lead the crypto market. So far, bitcoin is the only coin created with use cases and utility. The rest of the market is just a dump, where people are just looking for a way to scam each other for money. I also invest in altcoins, but to be honest, I just want to increase my money, I can't find any other purpose. Unlike bitcoin, in addition to the investment, it is also used as a bank itself, a means of payment, and a place to store assets...

There is no near future to this. The chances of this happening is not zero, but a figure very close to zero. Hence you can say in the distant future, not the near future.

Which currency you think will lead?
If we did not believe in bitcoins to remain dominant and the lead cryptocurrency even in the next ten years, we will not be investing in it and want to HODL for as long as we can. Bitcoin is king and will remain so for the near future

If there is not a completely revolutionary new bitcoin then its is going to be bitcoin 100%. The reason is simple: If something is very popular like bitcoin you need very good arguments to get people to change to something new. If you simply improve it a little bit you will not have enough arguments to get people to change. You just need to open alt coin section to see what Im talking about.

Obviously Bitcoin.

Not sure if this was supposed to be a trick question, OP. ::)

Bitcoin is, was and will continue to be the backbone and the foundation of cryptocurrency. In fact, if all crypto were to somehow simply disappear tomorrow, it would not have a long term effect on the price of Bitcoin. However if Bitcoin were to disappear, all those cryptocurrencies which have Bitcoin as their asset layer would not even exist anymore. And the rest would be seen as too risky to buy because if the ultimate coin, BTC dies, all crypto would be considered dead.

This question always come to play whenever there is any argument on replacing bitcoin at the top of the chart
1. Which coin has the ability to have a marketcap of 2 trillion dollars in this market?
2. Is there a coin that can achieve 40% dominance in the space?
3. How many of them have the ability to gain confidence of countries and the richest for a period of only five years?
4. What coins can have the same size of spread and number of wallets as bitcoin?
Any coin that can do this can displace bitcoin soon

you have already answered the question and anyone who says otherwise does not understand all the differences between bitcoin and altcoins.
we will certainly have exploits, and certain coins will be able to perform really well but otherwise I don't think there is a need to find a new "standard" that is not bitcoin.

Which cryptocurrency will lead the currency market in near 5 years?

Five years are just around the corner, and fourteen years are far behind us with no other crypto raising its head above Bitcoin, so there is not going to be any coin other than Bitcoin in five years to come.

because it was created as a way for people to send money over the internet.

Is Bitcoin only used to send money over the internet? The answer is no, blockchain technology has made it possible for people to send money to anyone, anywhere in the world, but Bitcoin paved the way for every other altcoin, and that's the main reason why it's going to lead.

Why this question? Don't you think that if Bitcoin fails today, every other Altcoins will also fail?

Shitcoins are just good in the beginning but always end up as dead coins. That’s why investing in them is like gambling, and that there are bigger chances of losing than expect gains and profits. But with bitcoin, which dominates the crypto market until now and in the years to come, you will know that chasing bigger profits is always possible, most particularly when bull run is here.

It's been leading the crypto market since it has started and when it was launched. That's why it's no question that it will still lead the market for the next 5 years and more.

The design of it by having a limited supply to 21 million and all of it will be mined estimating after a century is what makes it a perfect asset and choice to be the leader of this market.

In addition to its natural feature of having a halving and being a proof of work.

Are you mixing up something here, what do you mean by Bitcoin will lead the currency market?
Just a simple questions; What currency do you think have been leading the market since inception of Digital currency if i may know?
Well to me is Bitcoin, as far as I know too well bitcoin is already there and there's nothing to be compered about with other altcoin over the years, as a matter of fact, all other coin fully depends on the rise of bitcoin for them to make a new wave in the market. Bitcoin is independent of its own all alternate cryptocurrencies solely depends on bitcoin price movement, even till 10 years to come bitcoin still remains unbeatable.

Market capacity is a misleading criterion in which a stablecoin can reach a market capacity higher than the price of Bitcoin over the next 5 or 10 years. Therefore, it cannot be relied upon to measure whether this currency is a good investment or not, and we have what happened to the Silicon Valley through it, as 42 billion disappeared within minutes, just as it happened with Luna.

As for altcoins, I do not expect any of them to exceed Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still people's choice in investing in crypto so I think bitcoin will still lead the cryptocurrency market in the next 5 years. In addition, so far, bitcoin has performed better than altcoins and that is why bitcoin still leads the crypto market. And while the price of bitcoin will still fluctuate daily, that won't stop bitcoin from becoming the leader in the cryptocurrency market. So people will try to collect a lot of bitcoins even though they also try to have altcoins to spread their investment.

There is no any other crptocurrency that has the same unique nature like Bitcoin, which is decentralization. We have seen how bitcoin came in 2009 and since then till date,it has remained the number one in cryptocurrency. The rest are duplicates or copyright of bitcoin which means that they don't have the strength to survive than bitcoin in any situation. Their price pump and dump is based on bitcoin price and all other crptocurrency rely on bitcoin to survive the market. Some of those altcoins don't last after there is a pump in their prices, before you know it some of them will go back to zero. Privacy is what makes it bitcoin.

As what many said, Bitcoin will lead the next 5 years. All other cryptocurrencies depend on the price of Bitcoin. If there is a massive dump in Bitcoin, all other cryptocurrencies will suffer no matter how well-known and impossible it is to fall. Apart from that, if all the countries in the next 5 years accept bitcoin as payment for their goods or Bitcoin becomes legal in every country, surely the price of Bitcoin will increase a lot. Now even though there are no hypes happening in cryptocurrency but look Bitcoin is still rising. We can conclude that it didn't live up to that hype, how much more if what I have said above comes true. That's why I can say that Bitcoin is always the king of cryptocurrency.

I think we can always rely on Bitcoin for whatsoever we want to do in the market. Bitcoin is one of the most volatile and safer project since the beginning of the cryptocurrency world. It is good for us to hold other coins but it could pose a potential risk to us if the project eventually crashes out. Bitcoin would always remain our choice since it is the major coin that controls the cryptocurrency market.
We should always endeavour to keep our investment firm from projects that could easily crash out from the cryptocurrency market.

Seeing what bitcoin has obtained so far since its inception, it is clear that bitcoin will continue to dominate the Cryptocurrency market and so on because bitcoin is the only coin that we can trust for the long term besides bitcoin we can say that its presence is only as a complement to bitcoin on the market, even though at this time there are already thousands of altcoins and some of them have been developed more sophisticated than bitcoin, this does not make investors interested in adopting them other than bitcoin.

Bitcoin has been #1 for 14 years. I don't see why such a small time span as 5 years that would change. I believe that the time of high risk of Bitcoin losing its dominance is behind us. It was the time of 2017 ICO and altcoin hype, where so many projects seemed promising and Bitcoin seemed too limited to many people. The market dominance of Bitcoin was gradually dropping and Ethereum came closer than before. But nowadays, many years after those times and seeing that Bitcoin has successfully maintained its status as a #1 currency, Bitcoin seems strong and unlikely to become weaker.

Pretty sure Bitcoin will always be the number one cryptocurrency by market cap.

Only thing that could possibly match Bitcoin's size is Ethereum, but so far Ethereum has no actual popular apps, its pretty much all just gambling DeFi stuff, meme tokens, and minor projects. If things of actual consequence and use ever get built and mass-used on Ethereum then it's possible Ethereum could get as big as Bitcoin, but a lot of the value would accrue in the tokens, not in ETH itself, so even if that did happen I'm not sure Ethereum could pass Bitcoin.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are two entirely different markets though. One is a currency and one is the base token for an app network.

But in 5 years nothing has a chance of catching Bitcoin.
And actually I think over time Ethereum will actually lose value against Bitcoin. Because I think eventually even if crypto apps become more than just gambling schemes, if they start having real world use, other L1's will start taking market share as well and Ethereum will have to share the space with other platforms once Crypto grows big. While there is only one Bitcoin and there will be nothing that can compete in that space.

And of course nothing else has any chance of being more than a fraction of Bitcoin's market cap.

No one can predict the future to know what exactly will happen in the next five years but from the look of things Bitcoin is not giving sign of loosing the number one spot anytime soon just like some one said before under this thread that the gap between the Bitcoin and the altcoins is too huge to catch up with and majority of the altcoins team seems lagged and relent to compete with Bitcoin. Let just focus on the current trend and leave the future for now.

Of course it is Bitcoin. Altcoins are affected by the price of Bitcoin and any copy of coins in this crypto hence called alternative coins. Sure, the technology on other altcoins could be used in the world but still as the leader people most likely know about Bitcoin when they search about cryptocurrency in the Google Search Bar. Also, the price keeps rising so it does become the lead of other currency there.

I believe that ethereum will not "lead" crypto, as in be bigger than bitcoin, but it could definitely keep its spot, there is no returning back from that. I think it is easy to understand that bitcoin has this kind of vibe where it is the first thing ever, not just in the crypto world but even when a newbie comes in, they do not suddenly think about ethereum, they do not look at that, they look at bitcoin first and want to buy bitcoin first.

Look at the volumes, just that alone is a proof enough that bitcoin is bigger and will stay bigger because the difference is huge. I think it is important to keep their two rankings the same and keep it going for a while longer.

Which currency you think will lead?

As always, it will be bitcoin and none other. Most investors got more trust and will always tend to lean towards bitcoin compared to the other cryptocurrencies that are currently existing in the market now because of one important reason and that is decentralized. Other cryptocurrencies are profitable too and its projects will make them bigger in the next few years but when it comes to leading? That will be bitcoin, no doubt.

If coinbase is charged with listing securities by the US govt they will delist everything but Bitcoin overnight.

If this happens, crypto will tank miserably but Bitcoin will be just fine.  And a few alts with enough fanbois.

For now, I still see bitcoin to dominate the cryptocurrency market in the next 5 years as altcoins are still considered great followers of bitcoin. But I know for sure that there might be some new projects that will be more known and profitable within that 5 years of time frame, but the problem is how long they will be profitable and reliable in the market. Unlike bitcoin itself, even if it’s price increase is very slow for now, but we all know that it will always be reliable and more secured to give us future profits than losses. That’s why a lot of us still chose to invest in bitcoin, and still expecting that bitcoin will always lead the market 5-10 years from now.
