Hi guys I have joined crypto since a very long time maybe form 2018. At that time I have had no knowledge and I went to join some airdrops but earnings was very low. Here I met many new telegram members and everyone trying to Scam with with me. Mostly of them are from USA, Nigeria and UK. some people use Women voice and they trap new people to join investment scheme and other such things.
As telegram is much more secure than any other Social media that's why there are a lot of Scammers than any other platform. And I think that sucks. And these are the people in which new People don't believe in crypto and we have to change it.
I have blocked almost 100+ Scammers and there are more people coming and everyone has their own strategy to Scam with us. Is this happened to you or only me.

No, it's not just you that scammers have attempted to scam.
Once you join any new crypto telegram group, both exchange and normal, and drop a message like "Who is the admin here? I have a problem," just wait for a few minutes and see your account flooded with messages, most of which have a custom name and picture similar to the real admin, and they will attempt to offer you a solution, but their main objective is to scam you, penetrate your account, and make away with your funds.
 
Some of go through almost every telegram group and search for members active ones most especially and send them a DM with investment offer some go as far as sending broker website link, telegram channels which they update with there fake transaction history.

Do you know some funny fact of this lies, most of them don't actually know how the Blockchain transaction works, they upload a different transaction ID, different wallet and a different amount which they claim they might have just paid there investors. If you scan the wallet you fine out that some of them have never even received any deposit since the wallet was created, why some are some old transaction of years ago.

We can keep on reporting there accounts but that won't stop them, we just have to be smart enough to avoid them and not fall victim of such scam.

How do you plan on changing it?

Simply because scamming and foolong people is a lot easier through the use of internet; convenience for them in a way that they'd have a higher chance not to be known by their victim and to not be caught by authorities easily. Internet is a product of technological advancements indeed but behind its advantages is also its disadvantages especially for those who are not that knowledgeable with the potential and risks involved. This simply won't stop as long as they have people being victimized by them. Same scheme will be present as long as there are people who keeps on falling for it. What's best is to equip oneself with knowledge in order to be aware of the do's and dont's not only in this industry but to all possible means.

Yeah, it has happened to me.
Most times it happens when you go to the official channel of a project or anything that has to do with crypto and then make a complain, you'll see so many of them running to your PM claiming that they are part of the project's team and they can help you solve whatever issues it is that you're struggling with. But in the end all they want is an opportunity for them to request a sensitive information that you won't easily give out.
You have to be careful when dealing with strangers online most especially when it has to do with you putting your money into it or you giving out any personal information.

There are bad people and good people everywhere, even in your family, there are bad people and good people. So what do you expect in a virtual world on the internet?
It's not too difficult to avoid those scam traps, as long as you don't have greed, don't want to receive free money, and don't want to steal from others, you will never fall into the trap of scammers. Don't just blame the scammers when you've been greedy and self-damaged.

This is a self-evident conclusion. Why are scammers so popular on the Internet? It is probably not difficult for anyone to guess that people feel impunity from the fact that they assume that they are anonymous. On the Internet, we can introduce ourselves as anyone, from a successful trader to an investor who hit a big jackpot on this or that crypto project.
In my country, groups advertising to attract naive people appear daily. Of course, we cannot warn everyone, but we must inform those who are close to us as quickly as possible, as scammers are proactive, each time telling the victims that they have little time and need to make a decision quickly.

From your post OP which talks about the airdrop here, its not only about the scammers that trying to engage new users to invest but also they drop fake airdrops when you click it, it will drain your assets. It would be better to surround yourself with a group with good background because seems like you can already tell the difference about scams and legit. I also salute you from trying out different way of earnings.


Of course it will be a group of scammers so they can easily work together to scam newbies like acting that they are like you trying out airdrops. If people think already think that telegram is secured then they will let their guard down causes them to get scammed. You could simply report them online for the others to be aware of specific group or person to avoid them.


That's a good effort for your security, you could actually edit your privacy settings to avoid getting unknown messages from unknown numbers. It already happened to me before but once I edited my settings its all clear and you could actually use telegram without scammers but always double check.

You can also try to stop someone from adding your to a telegram group.
You can't stop them from sending DMs using some other accounts. I don't even touch my telegram account anymore but I can see there are tons of DMs.

Even when you ask something on the official chat group of a project, you'll get a DM from someone trying to act like the admin with a username same with the admin itself.

I think you mean the opposite with telegram being the most secure. The security you get on telegram is as much as you give it. It is really loose and serves as a window of opportunity for scammers to refer you off a secured platform where your convo could be monitored and in turn blocked to a more free space like telegram where they could communicate with you without fear of getting bursted by the security team behind the platform.

Good enough you've taken steps in blocking accounts you've associated with scam but, that won't keep you away from them just yet. The ease of creating new accounts and channels actually means, your still up for more adds or communicated by these scammers with a new name.

Setting your privacy settings would go a long way to limit who adds you to what channel, who sees your contact, views your uploads and more. Meanwhile, you be mindful of how you portray yourself in certain groups.

I'm not really sure about this claim. While Telegram does have some features that can enhance security, such as end-to-end encryption for messages and a two-factor authentication option, it's still possible for scammers to operate on the platform and try to deceive users. Therefore, I'm not convinced that Telegram necessarily has more scammers than any other platform solely because of its security features.

Scammers can be very convincing and use a variety of tactics to deceive people, including creating fake profiles, offering fake investment opportunities, or impersonating legitimate businesses or individuals. It's possible that scammers target Telegram because of its large user base, but, most likely, Telegram is a breeding ground for scammers because of the many naive and gullible people who fall for scams. First you can’t actually determine the countries of those scammers and if they told you where they were from I am sure you won’t believe a scammer would you?

If you have self Control and not actually careless on platforms like telegram and twitter, it’s actually relatively safe. But if you are in search of earnings at all cost they your chances of getting scammed it high as well.

Scammers have used various schemes to take advantage of people, especially in the cryptocurrency world. I have had experience with people acting as support or rather trying to introduce you to a business from there they start sending you pictures of their assets, so it's best to always do your own research before indulging in anything. The problem is that the internet has become home to scams where billions of dollars go out in fraud, and the thing is that any where there is money, fraud is not far from it. There are lots of internet scammers especially on telegram, I was invited to one group by an unknown person a certain time ago on telegram, they where discussing about crypto investment and all sorts of investment, I noticed they invest a lot of time and energy in convincing you with testimonies of people that have succeeded, I was almost trying to invest before I took a step back in doing some investigation and I found out, they were all white lies. Lots of innocent people fell for it, when I started attacking them and exposing their white lies, they blocked and removed me from the group. So everyone needs to be careful out there.

Fraud does not only exist in cyberspace or the world of social media, but there are also many fraudsters in the real world. Fraudsters or scammers must always make various ways and develop their deceptive patterns to keep up with the times.
It's not just you who have faced various scams via social media, of course everyone must have felt and faced the same problem you are experiencing.
Even though Telegram has safer features, it cannot guarantee that we will be free from these scammers or fraudsters. All social media has the same potential for someone to deceive us, so nothing is safe.
We cannot change or fix fraud for other people. We ourselves must be aware that joining crypto is dangerous and there are lots of scammers who are after us.
In my opinion, it is we ourselves who have to be smart about dealing with it and always be careful of people we don't know on any social media.

Scammers are everywhere not only on internet. Someone like me I hardly accept any group to learn anything relating to money, especially telegram and Facebook because everybody wants to me money from you even when they intend to introduce you to site where you will earn money.

But things of fraudulent act is everywhere both physical, this days people scam others physically with their brain work. The act of incriminating varies when it comes to money, people can be very intelligent and smart thief's.

Telegram is not that secure in fact it is one of the easily loose social media platforms in terms of privacy. To stop this you need to stop people not on your contact from sending you DM.

Scammers are every and the recent rise in the number involved in cryptocurrency is because it is the hottest trend. Since it is a money earning or saving method then scammers will try to capitalize on it. We see new project been developed by scammers daily and they are developing in their skills. One thing remains that they will easily get greedy people who are gullible through their naivety. A greed less person even if is a newbie hardly falls into scammers hand

Only makes sense for the internet and adjacently bitcoin to be the festering ground for these scammers. It's the scammer's dream after all, limited traceability, easy transaction, and more. At this point it's become a rite of passage for some to be hacked before they make it in this industry which I know, shouldn't even happen in the first place. But at the end of the day, if you don't protect yourself from these bad actors, bitcoin or not you will get targeted. So as with all these guys who commented on your post I implore you to restrict people from messaging you at all, the benefits outweigh the risks in this case, and always make sure that you don't belligerently click on anything suspicious, no matter who asks you to click it.

I feel like your telegram user is on the scamming list, that's why they keep coming to your account. Maybe on this point, you should change your telegram account to a new one, but not sure if that would fix anything.

Is easy for the scammers to make list because the groups are public, so, they can join to a casino telegram group or an exchange telegram group, that way they know all the users on that server use cryptos, that is how they get their client list to try to scam.

So my recommendation is to not be in groups involved in crypto, is the best way to avoid getting new users trying to scam you every day.

Telegram was one of the first platforms where I started my crypto journey, and it was like a hub for scammers. I’m pretty sure every group on telegram crypto related or not, there’s always one fake account there trying to sell you on some hyip. At the time I knew anyone who sent me a dm first was most likely a scammer. In the end, I deleted my account because I was tired of seeing dms from strangers and it was counterproductive to my crypto experience. My advice to OP is to limit your activities on telegram, if you have to use the app you should set your privacy to prevent strangers from adding you to groups and channels.

To steer clear of scams, all you have to do is block them. These scams often lure in newbies with enticing but deceitful offers, which is why even scammers manage to get money from some people. I've received similar messages, but I simply block them as I don't want to waste my time engaging with them. It doesn't matter to me if they're male or female or where they're from. My advice is not to try and get rich quick with crypto, as this may increase your chances of falling victim to scams.

Make no mistake, scammers are everywhere not only on the internet, the reason why you do not meet as many scammers on your everyday life is that they simply do not have the ability to find you, but on the internet you are easily reachable as they can make use of bots to reach a very large audience and this is why they may seem to be more common here, however while scammers are a problem as long as you follow some simple principles then chances are you will avoid becoming their victim without too much of a problem.

Crypto space is a honeypot for scammers considering that you could really be able to hook up some newbie and get or stole money from them so easily.This is why its not really that shocking that they would do their very best on fooling specially to those who are new or even into those old ones who dont have much knowledge about things around on here.This is why we should really be that careful

Scams on telegram are well known these days, they are not new, they were more effective when telegram just launched. Scammers do not like when their niche becomes popular so they are always quick to find another platform especially new ones to deceive people who do not suspect them.  We should always be careful not only with telegram that most of us still use, but with all social media platforms where there is a chat function. Do not trust anyone that you meet who is friendly online, the chances of them being scammers is very high.

Through internet we have the access to see good things as well as unwanted things. This means the internet platform needs to be used in a very carefully. As everything happens online, the process is out of trust and we should have cent percent confidence and careful while making each and everything through internet.

Scammers in real time can be ignored, whereas in the internet they just keep popping and increase the interest over specific thing. This is how most of the trap happens with scammers online.

No you are not alone with this. I am very in agreeing with you that telegram is a good app with many uses for positive things. But there is too many scammers on it and if you do one small wrong move you can be a easy target.

I do not care much for telegram anymore after I was scammed on it. I have removed it from my mobile phone and my laptop and will rather use whatsapp and signal. I am like you I had to block many people on telegram but you blocked more with 126. Just be careful there are criminals that will not care if they mess up your life with his bad intentions. 

Concerning the Topic, are you referring to Telegram or the Internet in general or both? I don't know much about Telegram in regards to that, but I'm aware the Internet actually has alot of scammers... this should not be so if things are well built and transparent for people to be held accountable for immoral/criminal activities on the Internet. In regards to Telegram in particular, if you build a platform that encourages scamming then you could be responsible for scams especially if you don't do much to stop them. The platform has to be built in such a way that discourages scammers.

By the way, the scamming issues is actually making things difficult for legitimate businesses, and I think part of the reasons for this is to craftily/foolishly make everyone who works independently to look like scammer. I believe this is part of the war against businesses/individuals that don't depend on the system. A scam is likely to be accepted as legitimate if the scammer is dependent on the system. And scams are typically unproven claims that are exaggerated, false, lies or harmful in order to get people to believe, obey/use or pay for them. A scammer for example could tell you that a vaccine or drug is safe whereas it's not... Or that the Earth is shaped like a ball to get you to accept the lies & power up their evil system whereas the earth is only a Circular Plane surface (Planet) in something thick that looks like a bubble. But alot of people believe the scammers who tell this lie that the earth is shaped like a ball.

To be honest, I'm not sure if i have been scammed in Crypto space by individual scammers, especially for money, even though I once in a while encounter them... I tend to make sure claims are true before patronizing people. . And there has to be ways to hold people accountable if their claims are proven to be false. So, I'd make sure there are ways to identify them and get them punished when their claims are proven to be false
