What kind of software are you talking about?

The miners that we use to mine the currency and support the network?
Or some software to manage the rigs?

If you want to know about miners, each coin has its algorithm, and each algorithm has its miner (or miners), you need to know what coin you'll mine to download and use the right miner.
Most miners have a thread here in Bitcointalk, there's a thread with a list here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405131.0

If you're total newbie about mining, you can start with Nicehash software, it's easy to use and start: https://www.nicehash.com/mining

There's software to help you manage your rigs, like minerstat: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1772780.0

If you provide more details, like the coin you want to mine, we can help you in a better way.

Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer. Just browse the threads in this forum to see what miners people are using.
Hint: they aren't mining Eth and they don't use Claymore.

This kind of question is a magnet for scammers. Any direct responses often point to malware, or in this case
obsolete software, or maybe both.

You are not being very specific on what exactly you are looking for. I hope you are not looking for the scam mining software programs that lie that one can easily mine coins using their browsers or an app on a mobile phone, and yet they are just malware programs.

You asked a similar question (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5446518.0) in the Bitcoin mining board.

The forum is rich with necessary information. You just have to use the forum such button or tools like ninjastic.space to search up the information you want.

If you use asic, then you don't need software. Asic has a web interface where you set up the desired pool, coin and run asics. There is ASIC array management software to manage hundreds or thousands of ASICs with a single command, but I think this is not your case.

For graphics cards, I prefer HiveOS and RaveOS. For Windows for beginners, NiceHash is suitable, although I recommend learning Linux systems right away. You do not need to download new miners and risk downloading viruses. Developers check all new versions of miners and constantly update their software.
