Title: Where can I find the forum rules?
Post by: Volition on March 29, 2023, 06:19:59 PM
I have had three messages deleted now with no explanation as to why. I'd like to find the rules to help mitigate this but am not seeing them.

Firstly I let me get your question clear. Was it your replies on thread that were deleted? If yes, then it might have been the thread has been deleted probably by the author of the or moderators. Messages aren’t sent for threads that are deleted because it could be a whole lot of work for the mods. You receive notifications of reply been deleted only when it was just yours.

If this doesn’t answer your question you can ask it more clearer.

Here is the link for the forum rules  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0). It is pinned on the board

You will get forum rules on the top of the every board. And your posts have been deleted because it was most probably not related to topics or like spam. If you post according to the rules hope your posts won't be deleted.

Visit Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0)
According to rule number 32, making multiple posts in a row is not allowed and that's why your posts were deleted.

32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

I just visited your post history. There are some other posts that should be deleted too. You have made 4 posts in a row in this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5444793.msg61913493#msg61913493).

"A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted."

This is a general reason for posts getting deleted. The rules contain other reasons, but majority of them can be summed to being spam or off-topic.

To avoid posting things that needs to be deleted do more reading. You should familiarize with the rules before you create threads and replies.

For forum rules, which you can read carefully, actually pinned them on each sub-forum long ago and anyone can read them without having to ask. But if you want to see more complete forum rules besides this one Newbies - Read before posting (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0). You can see and read it here Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0).
There are many points written there and I think you just need to read then understand it very well. I hope this helps.

There are several reasons to why your reply and comments might get deleted and one major ret is repeating or writing similar multiple responses on a thread and another is writing off topic responses on a thread and this is a clear sign that you came to the forum all by your side and you should try as much as possible to improve your post quality and quantity as well as not be in a haste to write a post but rather take your time to read more so you could make meaningful contributions when the time to write comes.
Please take things easy on yourself and don't make it seem you have lots of rules to follow as here is more like a community, hence you should be free and busy simply avoid plagiarism and make sure you reference every work not written originally by you.

That's a good idea mate you should read the rules and regulation here in forum because it will bring you to be a good and better user. If you already knew the rules and regulations then there's no chance of doing mistakes except you would try to disobey the rules and regulation here in our community. OP since you already found the answer of you questions then you can lock this Thread in order to prevent spam from other users. To Lock this topic go to left side bottom of this thread then you found a lock topic.

You would generally get a message whenever your post is deleted and most common reason is moderator find it unnecessary or as a spam but sometimes the entire thread is deleted for spamming up for which you don't get any message.

But the @OP posts are getting deleted because he has violated forum rules by posting multiple posts in a row which is why they must be reported and moderator have taken action against them by deleting them.

While you have been furnished with the links to the forum rules. I wish to let you understand that the forum doesn't have strict rules, if you can avoid spamming, plagiarism and cheating of any kind you will succeed here.

For your post deletion, it could be that you have posted successively without allowing anyone post. If you do so the moderator will merge your post and get the unwanted deleted. Calm and you will understand with time, every newbies probably faced same fate.

As a rule, beginners begin to learn the rules only after they are violated. The same thing happens in real life when we start reading the instructions after the equipment is broken. In your case, violations of the rules of the forum did not lead to a ban of the account and so that this does not happen in the future, carefully study the rules of the forum.

If you had your post being deleted then you have to watch what you post if they were not off topics, spam post, low quality posts, scam or any other uninteresting post, also know that there's a moderation to how you can post here, which means that each boards has their own aspect of discussion they required from you, just from the board title, the discussion must also tally along, but you can read these links below and learn more

This is as a result that you didn't read the rules before posting and thanks to realizing you need to do the right thing by asking to know the rules of this forum before continuing your posting, as to know how and where to post in order not to go against the forum rules and get your post deleted. Other things to keep note of, to also not get your post deleted as a newbie is to ensure that it is quality useful information that you are passing here and maintain up to 150 characters while posting. With this you will be good.

Your are welcome to the forum mate!.

Your messages probably had been deleted by the forum moderators as it considered as a spam or off topic discussion. Try to post anything according the topic which is meaningful and constructive. Already forum members shared some links to follow the rules and those will be helpful to you. Kindly avoid spamming or making irrelevant posts in this forum then your posts might not be deleted.

Ok, I think this is done. Op has found what he was looking for, comments from several users have directed him there to learn the important things that keep him here. He's already responded and I'm sure he's read some of the threads that have been suggested, Op it's time to lock this thread if you've found what you're looking for.

You should have made it clear what you actually wanted to know, your comment has nothing to do with your topic. It is not clear what forum rules you are asking about.

Re: Where can I find the forum rules?
Are you wondering where I can find the forum rules for your topic?
The answer to this question is that the topics pinned to the top of the section in which you post are the rules of that section.
https://i.imgur.com/Bw8Onb3.jpg

You read the topics well and then post.
But you want to know your comments why your posts are deleted? There are many reasons for post deletion which have already been mentioned by many. Generally, if your posts are irrelevant and outside the forum rules, the posts will be deleted without any notification to you.
Make sure you regularly post active and follow forum rules and share relevant information to ensure your post won't get deleted.

He want to understand the forum rules in order, in order his post not get deleted again. A general forum rules are what he looking for, although it's not always like that. If the @OP create self moderated thread, the @OP can delete his post even though his post is on topic and high quality.

There's no relation between regularly post active and deleted post, if you post 100 posts/day or 1 post/day with a same value, all of your 100 posts won't get deleted.

OP wouldn't have raise this if he had earlier been told how to go about the forum or rather taken responsible to go through the boards in search and findings, he would have discovered the forum rules, the problem with many newbies is that they don't have that time to create for leaning, they believed things can go much well without them putting more efforts as expected, we all have to pass through this learning process.

New users always found it difficult to start at Bitcointalk. because it's a forum, and modern youth tend to use social media layouts that are more user-friendly, which I know BTT is not to some extent. Newcomers to Facebook and Instagram quickly learn how to use them because they know what they'll see and what their purpose is. But most people do not know how the forum works.

Before making some posts, I think reading the rules is necessary, and, dear OP, you can read all the rules and regulations from the help tab, including what is what and how things work on BTT.
https://i.imgur.com/KcDQigD.png

Your account might be banned due to many factors, like instant bans only due to the usage of plagiarism content or if you are using AI tools and directly copying and pasting here. which harms the BTT's reputation because the internet is full of content, 90% of which is trash. That's why on the BTT, everything should be legit and contribute to the community or the community's members. I am not mentioning the same rules that previous members have already mentioned like Zaguru12 and hosseinimr93

You should also try tools like the Telegram notifier, which makes you more active whenever someone mentions you. A notification will be shown on your Telegram handle. BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5248878.0) or you can use this guide to for more ease. How TryNinja's Notifier Bot Can Make your life easier (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5446890.0). This forum is filled with wonders, the more time you spend on it the more you will explore and the more you will learn about BTC and how much this forum has contributed to the origin of BTC.

Can you see an example of a post that was deleted? I think, can you clearly state which of your posts was deleted? Get used to the topic being answered or if you ask a question at least useful or really important to discuss.

I'm also a newbie, but I also know that there are many rules when posting or replying. A little advice from me, if you answer a question, make sure it is more than 100 characters and don't be off topic from the questions answered.

make sure it is more than 100 characters and don't be off topic from the questions answered.
not from the length of the character. try to reply according to the topic of the thread. no need to repeat reviews that have actually been answered by previous people. it will make the post will tend to be ignored.
more reading of the thread in its entirety before finally starting to reply. and of course, just focus on topics that you really master. if you want to seek new knowledge, simply first read the existing information. ask questions if something is not understood.
