Good day guys .
With crypto currencies leading in the present currency and digital banking sector I just wanted to see how much Bitcoin we have actually spent on purchases although the last crypto based purchase I made was when I bought my Mac with 0.029btc excluding block chain fees so what have you bought with Bitcoin?

Is bills payment is included because I use most of Bitcoin paying bills and mobile load because there’s a Bitcoin wallet platform in our country that gives extra discounts and cash back when we use Bitcoin as mode of payment. I rarely spend my Bitcoin on purchasing material things that doesn’t give me any extra benefits compared when I’m  using fiat as payment.

It’s such a waste to spend Bitcoin on things that loss it’s value overtime because Bitcoin is an investment.

I like to hold Bitcoins but I purchased my smartphone with Bitcoin which was an amazing feelings to me. Actually I also spend my Bitcoin for my student life costs. It's also a good feeling to everyone and I have a dream to purchase a laptop with my Bitcoin. Hope I will be able to fulfill my dream soon.

I have spent many bitcoins a few years ago (ca 2012-2013) in local shops and still think that it was very good for the Bitcoin ecosystem. It is bad for me though obviously but also I could have bought more Bitcoin then so actually I do not regret it. I hope people will also spend more bitcoins in the future, since Bitcoin is a currency and not an asset.

If I were to start counting what I have purchased with Bitcoin, I might start remembering that all my journey started with Bitcoin.
My first purchase with Bitcoin was a P2P where I sent my friend BTC worth 10$ back then over a head set ear phone, which I was so much in need of. I have also made payment via BTC in a boutique where I went to grab some clothes, the option was not available, but when I purchased above what I budgeted, I asked the sales person if I could drop some BTC for a few other things that I wanted to grab. She said I should hold for her to call her boss. I gave him the offer and he accepted to not just accept payment for my other purchase but also pay for the entire purchase using BTC. It's good to see someone actually wanting to pay with Bitcoin in his shop.

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are restricted in my country making it some how complicated to buy any product using them within the country. Although some persons have purchased good in some Bitcoin friendly nations from my country and the product was safely delivered, I have never paid for anything using Bitcoin. I have been hodling my Bitcoin investment and have no intention of selling or using them for transactions because they are my investment. I might consider using my Bitcoin for transactions if I go to a more friendly nation or my government lifts the restrictions.

Lots, PC, gadgets, laptop, Keyboard (not the keyboard for computers) Aircondition, Refrigerator, stoves, etc.  I can't recall how much BTC I spent in total since I have been using Bitcoin to purchase and pay for stuff since 2015 until today.  I already adopted Bitcoin as a mode of payment and keep on using it for payment mode.  I believe, aside from holding, it is best to spend Bitcoin in order to fuel its economic growth.

Have not purchased any physical thing that I can remember with Bitcoin.. but I have used Bitcoin earning and gain from different sets of work to add up little money which I have saved up to get my self a new PC..
So I can't generally say I purchased something with Bitcoin, but it helped me complete my little fait holding to purchase something I was really in need of.

Would have been more interesting if you added the year this purchase happened, 0.029 btc in this current price is about $800, though I don't know the type of Mac you bought or the region where you bought it from, but that's a bit pricey though.

For me, my last bitcoin purchase transaction was last year(2022) around June or so, I spent about $650 in bitcoin to purchase a motor bike, right now, I can't really remember what was the price of bitcoin at that time, or how much Bitcoin was worth $650 at the time, but then, this was the last thing I bought with full payment in bitcoin..

I am hoping to spend some bitcoin on some purchases again soon though.

Many things but it has to be converted by the third-party service that online shop I used to shop with. But I guess the main and important thing is to pay bitcoin with every purchase right? So it doesn't matter if they convert it to fiat automatically upon purchase as long as the transaction goes through. IIRC, most purchases that I make with bitcoin weren't that expensive, they usually go around converted in fiat from $10-$100 and those things that I shop online are only the necessary things. It's convenient since it's allowed by the shop that I usually go to online and I'll just have to wait within a few days and the package will arrive.  8)
Yeah, the quantity may be a lot before the bull run but that's the purpose of bitcoin, it's for paying stuff so don't forget to treat yourself while holding a lot.

Right now, I'm not at that point yet, instead I'm currently in the process of saving bitcoin because I'm really preparing for the bitcoin halving so I can experience the feeling that the value of my savings will grow high in the future and I can really see if Why is it more than a bank?

This is what crypto enthusiasts often say here in the field of crypto space. Something that I also believe honestly speaking that's why I am applying for DCA also with this belief of mine.

bitcoin is a digital currency and of course there is nothing wrong if we use it for payment and if anyone can accept payments using btc.
I personally prefer to sell bitcoin on an exchange and be able to buy something with fiat currency, so basically I prefer bitcoin to be used as an investment asset and when there is profit, I always sell my btc on an exchange and melt it into fiat currency.

Although bitcoin is being seen as an investment instrument rather than a means of payment, if in the future it becomes more popular and accepted by businesses, its use as a means of payment will also become popular. People don't want to spend their bitcoin right now because everyone has the desire to get rich, so there's no blame on them. But when they make a profit or bitcoin reaches a stable price, people will also spend their bitcoin. Bitcoin will remain a currency in the future.

It is a difficult question to answer as I have not kept track of every single transaction that I have made and I do not know how much bitcoin I have spent over the years, however I have bought all kind of things which range from software, books, electronics and I have paid for several services with bitcoin too.

Basically even if make an effort to try to hold my bitcoin for as long as possible, at the same time it is not as if I am against the idea of using my bitcoin when I need it.

so I'm not sure around you there are providers of services and goods that do accept payments with Bitcoin. therefore you will more often sell your Bitcoin for Fiat which can be traded easily.
but for some countries that have legalized Bitcoin as a means of payment, there are quite a few service providers and goods available. they can use Bitcoin for transactions, and it will be more fun because they buy without having to sell their Bitcoin and withdraw fiat first before making purchases of goods and services.

Nice to see people actually using Bitcoin for everyday purchases. I am sure everyone that holds or owns bitcoin, at one point of their life, made a purchase using bitcoin or other crypto currencies. I have bought some stuffs online with bitcoin. Most of them were digital goods, and the price of those stuffs weren't too much. If you consider indirect purchases, then yes, I have purchased a lot of gift cards to buy things through Amazon, ebay or other stores. I also booked hotels few times using bitcoin.

from several countries that have legalized bitcoin, not everything goes smoothly, for those who are old it is difficult to keep up with the times. and we know that for countries that legalize it, most of them are from countries that are experiencing economic difficulties, but at least for countries that have legalized it, of course there will be more people who have bitcoin, and when bitcoin experiences a pump, this can help the economy, regardless of how to use bitcoin to buy something

the first time i used crypto as mode of payment was when i was paying for the internet bill. the second time was when i purchased a hard drive, I wasn't really planning on paying through bitcoin that time but i didn't have any other option coz i also didn't have paypal account. luckily they accepted it as an option, but even until now i'm still regretting why i did that. i think the bitcoin i spent was around 0.15 or 0.1 something. during those times i keep regretting my decision but i just console my self for using bitcoin as what it was intended, but it's still leaving a bitter taste on my mouth hihihi.

Not only you but most people consider bitcoin as an investment rather than a payment method, many people don't want to waste their bitcoins on such expenditures. People who have used bitcoin for payment mostly just for the experience, and only a few do not consider bitcoin as an investment.

To be honest, I've only tried using bitcoin for online payments a few times for testing, but I've never used it to pay at local stores. And in my area, I hardly see any shops that accept bitcoin payments, Bitcoin is not yet popular in my hometown.

I can't really give an exact estimate of what I have bought with btc or other crypto coins but there's just one purchase I can give account for.

My car was totaled in an accident in 2018. I am grateful that I did not lose my life. Actually, I opted to just buy a new or I can say an already used car because the old one was beyond repair.
At that time, I paid $25,253.62 USD equivalent 1.84907 bitcoin for my Gl 400 which I had gotten about 0.8 bitcoins from smart contracts. the others I earned as online payment for task and some of which I purchased.

It is very admirable that you can buy your MacBook with bitcoins.  I have bought my smartphone laptop and many other things through bitcoin but never in any case I could pay anywhere through direct bitcoin.  In all cases I first converted my bitcoins to fiat and then paid the money to the merchant.  Because credit or debit cards are not accepted everywhere in my country till now.  So how can I still get bitcoin direct payment facility in my country  ??? But one case where I was able to pay in direct bitcoin was buying domain and hosting from namecheap.com

Currently, various sites are accepting bitcoins, which makes it possible to buy various types of digital goods.  And many important tasks including hotel booking, flight ticket booking are being done through various third party websites  So this is a very happy aspect for Bitcoin users. But it can be assumed that in the future days it will be possible to use bitcoins everywhere like credit/debit cards

Most time I have to exchange bitcoin for local currency before being able to spend them in my country since bitcoin payments are not yet widely accepted unless on a p2p arraignment since bitcoin is not her accepted as a legal tender and government restrictions on banks vs Bitcoin.

But I have spent some Bitcoin online on an international marketplace and getting the goods shipped to my country, but the local merchant has not fully accepted bitcoin in my country and this has undermined the spread of bitcoin payment.

so what have you bought with Bitcoin?

There is an interesting topic that you will be interested to read, and it can be concluded that here on the forum, you can come up with a huge number of things bought for bitcoin. We are all far from each other, and without proof of purchase, it is possible to buy both the Yacht and the plane for bitcoins.
In addition, another user once decided to catalog all topics related to purchases for bitcoins, but as you can see, this topic has not found its development.
But you, OP, get a lot of information by reading these two threads. :)

Unfortunately for me, I've never had a chance to use bitcoin to pay for anything. I don't shop online often, and my area has no stores that accept cryptocurrencies. I live in a rural area, and because of that habit, I only see bitcoin as an investment. I hope in the future when the government accepts bitcoin, there will be businesses that accept it, I will experience this.

Sorry op, but i don't think topics like these are necessary, people have been buying things with BTC for a very long time now, even when it was cheap and very easy to mine, like Laszlo Hanyecz who bought two pizzas for 10,000 BTC in 2010, i think purchases like these and a few others that happened then and are now part of BTC's history are the ones to be discussed about, and the discussions have happened so many times. Those purchases made people value BTC as a currency.

But now it is clear BTC is a currency and many people use it, sadly some people cannot spend it yet in their location and have to convert it to fiat first, but there is adoption and there is use, so asking people what they bought with BTC is unnecessary, because many people buy a lot of things with it, it is not news anymore.

It’s understandable on your case because you earned Bitcoin through services offered here in the forum unlike me that usually use my fiat salary to purchased Bitcoin as my in investment. Spending some of your Bitcoin earnings won’t hurt much since it’s your reward and not an initial investment that put in.

I really admire you for having a brilliant service that earn Bitcoin without the need to use fiat.

Now i don't use bitcoin to pay for living expenses and almost see it as an accumulative asset. I also exchanged 1 btc for an old motorbike in the past, but it was just a transaction with friends, the value at that time was estimated at $1000.
I think that nowadays people's attitudes and knowledge about accessing bitcoin as well as this market have changed a lot, so popularizing bitcoin through accepting payments for many things in today's life is not an effective method to spread.

From cars to houses, vacations to everyday items, people have used Bitcoin to purchase a wide variety of goods and services. we may see even greater adoption of digital currencies for purchases in the years to come.

I could vividly remember that I have exchange some things for Bitcoin and it's just like buying with Bitcoin since the person agreed with me to swap it for Bitcoin. There are people who would never mind exchange what they have or sell for Bitcoin because they know the value of Bitcoin and what will happen if the market eventually go bullishly. It is more preferable for me to exchange or buy something with Bitcoin since it is going to help in promoting the use of Bitcoin and whem people hear about Bitcoin and what it can be used for, they will really want to know about it.

It is hard to list everything I have bought through Bitcoin but I could say I live on Bitcoin since I don't hold fiat currency for the long term and every Bitcoin I convert into fiat or every fiat I have in my bank is mainly for the week. Therefore, everything I bought is direct or indirect through Bitcoin.

Same here, I also bought expensive items with Bitcoin and even paid my debt way back 2017 with my earned Bitcoin after converting it to cash.  I was in a hurry to pay the debt because of the monthly interest.  I regreted paying that debt too soon because if I waited for another 2 months, my BTC valuation would have tripled its purchasing value and I could have paid that debt in just a third of that Bitcoin amount.

...

I never thought that giving oneself as a reward is a waste of money.  It serve as motivation and satisfaction at the same time.  It enables us to continue with great enthusiasm because these rewards serve as the trophy of our endless endeavor in life.

I have spent many bitcoins a few years ago (ca 2012-2013) in local shops and still think that it was very good for the Bitcoin ecosystem. It is bad for me though obviously but also I could have bought more Bitcoin then so actually I do not regret it. Well, we all go through that experience.  And to lessen the effect to make us regret our actions when purchasing anything, I always think of Bitcoin at its present purchasing value and not its possible future value.  Greed will always make us restless so better control it for our own peace of mind.

If this is about spending Bitcoin directly to purchase any goods or stuff or other services, I never did it because I cannot use Bitcoin as the means of transaction in my country. It is illegal and forbidden. However, I am very difficult to find any merchant receiving Bitcoin as payment directly, probably because of the legal law in this country. If this is about global payment purchases, so far, I also never use it for.

But well, I have been being so many times converting Bitcoin to fiat to purchase many things in the real life. But that's it, I still need to conver to fiat and use my bank account to be able to have transactions.

Speaking about making use of Bitcoin literally on purchasing something then i do only bought some Steam wallet codes on steam wayback which do make use of coins but of course these merchants would really

be attaching into those payment merchants which would usually those coins will be converted into fiat directly.I havent spend up that much or wasting too much coins on something that i could buy with fiat.

We arent that noob not to know on what are the potential prices of Bitcoin on the upcoming years to come specially on each halving cycle which we know that bull run could start out.
This is why its not really worth if ever you would like to buy something.

I earn my living from crypto currency. All my household expenses depend on the money I earn from this crypto currency. A few days ago I had a large loan and paid it off with the money I earned from this Bitcoin forum. Can't pay with bitcoin directly as I don't have bitcoin validation here. But I have to convert bitcoins to my country's local currency and then pay. I salute this bitcoin forum all the time because now I depend on this bitcoin for my livelihood.

We will spent more if we will convert our expense on bitcoin in usd when the market pumps also if I will bethe one who will buy something I would rather to convert it first into usdt before buying so when the market pumps I will not be problematic when the converted price of Bitcoin is higher than the moment I use bitcoin to purchase something.

I like to hold Bitcoins
If u can hold Bitcoin I think I am a wise person. Because if I can hold Bitcoin now, there will be a lot of profit from this Bitcoin in the coming days.

I purchased my smartphone with Bitcoin which was an amazing feelings to me
I am going to ask you whether you bought your smartphone with bitcoins or you bought the smartphone by earning money from bitcoins.  I think you can't buy the smartphone with bitcoin payment because as far as I understand from your account you are a Bangladeshi bitcoin is still banned in Bangladesh. If bitcoin is banned then how you bought your smartphone with bitcoin.

I have a dream to purchase a laptop with my Bitcoin. Hope I will be able to fulfill my dream soon.
I pray that your dream comes true soon.  Because bitcoin has become so popular. Now anyone can fulfill their own dreams with this bitcoin. Hope bitcoin will be better and everyone will be able to fulfill their dreams like you. There was a time when I couldn't afford a dream of my own.  Had to fulfill that dream by taking money from home. Now I can fulfill my dream by earning money through Bitcoin. And help people at home.

The only thing I bought with Bitcoin was a VPN subscription, I wasn't able to buy it otherwise. But in a few weeks, BTC went down and I bought even more than I spent.
That VPN subscription reminds me of my purchase of VPN service from a hosting company, I even buy the hosting with VPN for a company of mine. I make the best use of bitcoin by not providing my personal information to the hosting provider. Also I created the account in the hosting with a fake username  ;D

I like to hold Bitcoins
Bitcoin have given enormous profits for traders who knows good strategy to use in the market specifically against Bitcoin. Holding Bitcoin is a good long-term strategy that will yield profits in the near future. We all know that there will be a massive bull runup of bitcoin but we don't know when this particular section will take over. It's very necessary to spot out good entries on bitcoin during the dump and make enormous profits, although I will not advised you to keep holding without withdrawing part of your profits during the bear season.
