Title: What is your honest review of the Demo account?
Post by: Davidvictorson on March 30, 2023, 08:12:33 PM
What is your honest review of the Demo account?
Do you think that should spend so much time trading on a demo account? I believe that in demo trading, there are no real consequences for losing "money". If you notice, the pain is different than the one felt when you actually experience a loss on a live account. Demo trading simply helps the newbie get acquainted with the trading platform, and it should only be for a few weeks. Compared to  live trading, demo trading lacks the ability to mental and emotional resilience. For me, the real trading education starts where demo trading ends. What do you think?

I think every new users should try demo trading first as it helps user to be an experienced trader. I also tried demo trading and learned a lot. It really helps when you do future trading even if can generate trading strategies with demo accounts.

Demo account is rubbish in my opinion, although it is not a waste of time for some people.

I believe that in demo trading, there are no real consequences for losing "money".
It is not only that there is not emotion in demo account like real account. In real account, you can trade with just $10 on many trading platform. There are even many trading platforms that you can trade less than $10, even with $1. So why the need for demo account? It is totally not useful for me and I did not use itnwhen I was learning how to trade.

When I started to trade futures, my first position was opened with just $0.25. see how low in amount of dollar it is. So why demo account when you can go that low in the amount of money that you can use to open a position to study the how trading works.

Demo trading isnt that bad because you would really be making yourself having the familiarization of things which are involved on trading from those technical indicators and other terms which would really be helpful

for you to understand and realize on whats the use of it.Its true that the one thing that do lacks for you to become better in demo trading which do skip out is on that emotional control and enhancement.
It is true that this one aspect is something that cant really be mold up because we do know that in demo we cant lose money and this is something the main difference on the time you would be dealing
with real live account which does really means that you wouldnt really be making yourself having that enhancement an this is why on the time where live things happen then it would be an another story.

Demo trading is like trying the platform itself, familiarizing about it though you can do the actual trading but there’s no risk on that and your emotion might not be present by that time but still using a demo trading at first is a big help.

Trading is a long journey, you should not think about making money instantly, because in trading anything can happen and losing are more possible if you do trade without having your own analysis. If you want to learn the process and feel the hype or fud, better start trading small and you’ll learn more from this.

Anybody who used demo trading accounts as away of learning day to day live trading is lying to themselves. The biggest component of trading is emotions, without real money, there are no "real" trading emotions

Demo accounts are only good for newbies if they are trying to learn how to make orders, create stop losses etc. Besides, most demo trading platforms are illiquid and do not depict the actual trading environment. A good example are the Binance and bybit demo trading platforms. They suck in every bit, especially if you are an experienced trader.

Using demo account is like smoking a nicotineless cigarette.

And as others have said, it is only useful for learning how to use the platform (e.g., buying, selling, SL, placing  order, etc..), and not something that will teach you proper trading management as it is lacking some kind of consequences when a trade goes south.

The only difference between a real and demo account is the mental aspect of trading...and that's self explanatory.

It's pretty difficult to continue using a demo account for a long period of time, because it will get to a point where you'll no long feel any zeal to keep on using using it because you really don't have anything to lose. You might even see it as a game.
It better to just try it for a little while once you get familiar with everything there's for you to know then switch to a real trading account where you can experience the real thing, and not some demo whatever.

What is your honest review of the Demo account?

I use it when I’m not confident on the market while I still want to trade without losing my for my self satisfaction. Demo account is good when testing a strategy on the current market movement to eliminate the risk. It’s only a waste of time using Demo account when you keep using it without any purpose.

Sadly most of the crypto traders don’t know the real essence of demo trading which makes many newbie loss money on gambling trading without any strategy formulated for their trade. I know that actual trading is different on demo trading because of emotion but this emotion is negligible if you have a strategy that being followed like a rule book on trading.

To be honest I'm a person like straight to the point back then Im using a real account on any platform from stock, forex, and crypto. But I keep losing  ;D

Watch strategy on the internet and try it on a real account, later on, goes puff gone  ;D. So in my opinion Demo account is important though it may spend your time but it is worth it if you are trying to mix some strategies or try a new one.

and you got nothing to lose until you think trade is profitable.

You can start by learning but itself is not enough. You need practice to test your knowledge and adjust yourself. If you code your trading bot, you can use demo account to test it just like developers use testnet to test their code before they deploy it on mainnet.

Demo account and trading with it is good but it is different than real trading with your real capital. If you don't use trading bot, trading with real capital will cause you to be more sensitive with your emotion which can lead to trading mistakes, bad order decisions. You won't have chance to practice and control your emotion with demo accounts.

It's good for training though. It's from the demo account that we learn to set up our indicators and how to change the backgrounds of the platform and the colors of the MAs.

I did use the demo for some time. Learning the basics is important which demo account is good. But if you don't risk some kind of real money, you won't feel the pressure to win which if you keep playing the demo, you might not learn until you lose some funds. ITs why losing is important also  ;D

Demo account serves as a trading training only.  And this is an important aspect for beginners. For those who don't know how to buy and sell a coin and other training details. They can only train them from a demo account.  Moreover, there is no value in the demo account, there is no benefit even if there is a profit or loss. So people who can trade and trading experts I don't think they use demo account and waste there time.  It is used only by those who are new to trading.

What is your honest review of the Demo account?

Yes demo account can be a good way to check the market conditions and whether your strategy is working well. Many people go to trade with large amount without understanding well about training, in this case they face big loss if they take wrong entry due to not understanding well about trade.  So in this case it is very effective to test your strategy on a demo account

I agree, demo trading should only be used for the first few weeks to get used to the interface and how to place orders. Do not use it for too long and consider it as a place where we will have experience for actual trade later. There is a huge difference when using a demo account and a real account. I bet that even if you win on a demo account, you will soon lose on a real account. Psychology and emotions will be completely different.
As for me, I never use and encourage anyone to use a demo account, it will very easily lead us to have wrong habits and actions when using a real account.

Demo trading is very good option for newbies who have zero knowledge of trading at all. one can learn diferent strategy and some trading trick through this demo trading. when newbie enters in trading, he is thinking just o profit and he has no idea of right time to buy and sell. newbie can learn from Demo account that how to use fund wisely. demo account fund is very big and one can apply different strategy for proper trading. i will called first practical class beore strating real trading.

the big issue with demo account is that one cannot control emotion because the money he win or lose is not real. controlling emotion is big tool which should be used in trading. without this newbie will loss all or will no book profit at right time. it will be better for newbie to first start with demo account and after learning basic trading skills he should use small budget to start real trading which will make him professional in trading and then he can use big amount or trading.

and if you are learning to trade then demo trading will not help to learn trading, depositing real money is helpful if you want to learn.

Well, demo account's purpose is to show newbie traders how trading works, it's interface, and the functions of those. But yes, using only demo account will not help you grow as a trader, because you don't care about what's gonna happen next since you don't have anything to lose. The real experience could only be gain in the real account, because you have to be more serious and wise every time you're gonna enter a trade to gain profits.

Real emotions as well could be gain in real trading account, it is where all the challenges begins. You'll realize what you need to improve in order to be more profitable and avoid mistakes.

Demo accounts is so useful because you can experiment all different methods you do and can test out which of it is suitable on your trading style. You can also test the market condition on each timeframe so this is so good to use first by newbie before they are going on real time trading.

Although somehow there's no emotional attached by trading using demo account but by the help of this you are equip with knowledge and other possibilities so that you became careful and alert to the coins you wish to trade.

That's quite a good idea, it allows you to practice trading strategies and get familiar with the trading platform that you will use without risking real money, this can also help you to build confidence and gain experience before moving on to live to trade.  But remember this doesn't guarantee to make a profit instead, it's only gaining experience because the market moves in an unknown direction.

After this, you can also consider copy trading as a part of your success while gaining experience from demo trading at the same time copy trading will guide you from trading, copying the trades of more experienced traders would be a great idea IMO.

The demo account is created for the learning of people who want to deepen their trading lessons. Using a demo account, they can learn to analyze by applying lots of analyses and strategies. And if you don't understand more about trading and you lose, you don't lose your money but it's demo money provided for you.

So you don't need to fear losing money trading using a demo account. And when you understand trading and have mastered how to analyze the market well, you can use a real account to apply what you have learned.

I do not recommend spending a lot of time, especially for beginners, because its main purpose is to understand the trading environment, know the available options and reduce human error to the lowest possible degree, then you will not need a demo account.

Its importance enables the expert user, as he tests the trading strategy, whether it is successful or not, and the extent of its effectiveness, as a lot of time should be spent studying and analyzing the efficiency of the strategy before starting trading.

This really depends on the trader because first, if the trader has no money or just enough money for a real account, he should go to a demo account. If you have enough money, go for real and lose some because you can learn a lot from mistakes, but my preference is to use a demo because I always want to backtrack my trading records and see if it is working.

It's like we use a real knife to cut fruit and a fake knife. A fake knife will never cut your hand and bleed, but with a real knife it can. Trading with demo accounts is a bad idea because even if we use them hundreds of times, we will never get a feel for real trading. Let's start with a real account from the beginning, although losses are inevitable, it will give you experiences, experiences that demo accounts never provide you.

This one what makes me rarely use demo trading if possible. It's okay to learn basic trading mechanic and trying out your strategy before using it in real-trading run, but like you said you won't feel any lost and happiness if you win and lose in this demo account because you don't own the money, once you have the money and similar cases happen, you would feel the difference in your emotion to make correct decision.

It's fine as learning purpose, but take a note that you need to do it in real-trading run if you want to be successful.

The demo account should only be used as a trial use of the platform instead of honing trading skills.
This was a hot topic of conversation in my country, because based on some research of pro traders, it turns out that some demo accounts of certain trading platforms are set up to always be profitable so that encourages new users.

Dude, I'm with you on the whole trading scene and options game! As a pro trader and crypto-fanatic, I can vouch that it's like mastering the art of the "legen-wait for it-dary" playbook. You need mad skills, patience, and a sixth sense for market vibes.

Demo accounts? Cool for newbies, but they ain't the Holy Grail. Trading's all about risk-fu, and demos don't teach you the emotional kung fu of real-world trading. Wanna crush human mistakes? Level up with knowledge and research, bro. Get the market lowdown, crunch data, and forge a killer strategy.

For the trading jedis, demo accounts are like secret weapons to tweak and polish their moves. Study, analyze, and nail that strategy before you go all-in with real dough. Remember, trading's no magic money-making ride; it needs hustle, control, and a cosmic level thirst for learning.

I agree with you, Demo trading is far from the real stuff, with a real guide that has good experience, you can easily get acquainted to a trading platform in less than a week or a few weeks less than the time you will spend on demo accounts, depending on how fast you can learn. Demo trading is important but not always necessary if you can manage the risk that come with trading live and loosing small amount of money that you can afford to loose to learn. Being exposed to trading live can do two things to you, It can either discourage you or make you into a really good trader. If you do not get discouraged first by losses, you will turn out to be a really good trader emotionally and by strategy.

Demo account will only give you a clue of what you actually gonna experience when in the real live market minus the emotion because there's no emotion that is being attached when practicing on a Demon account until when you start trading with your real money, then that's when you gonna feel the heat and face the real business, by then you would now realize that your profiting strategy will no longer be working as before and the whole thing will now look like a scam to you.

The bottom line is, first of all practice with Demo and get some knowledge that will help you navigate when start trading in a live account.

We must understand what Demo Account is created for. Mostly, exchanges or certain platforms provide Demo Accounts to help any newbie or new user in the platform to at least know and understand the ways to have transactions or trade. So, a Demo account is helpful for new users who are likely to love to earn at first before taking action at the beginning. This will help them understand at least the scheme. Although the demo account is not a real-time market, at least this will help to understand the scheme and how the market is running.

And of course, if we are no longer newbies, we don't need it to play. What's for? if we have been usual and understood the platform? So, it will definitely depend on the user itself.

Its not really that understanding the platform but overall understanding on how the market behaves and how those indicators and tools do work or simply it is really that learning and familiarizing with those things.
Yes, it is really that indeed helpful and something that recommended when you are really that a complete newbie which you would really be needing to learn up with those basic principles and later on,
you would be needing to jump into other space and go for live trading on this where the place you would be able to apply on what you have learned. The most or primary thing that you would
notice is that emotion would really be your main enemy which you havent been able to train up when you are doing demo trades.

The demo account is not bad, it is just a place where you can practice trading if you are a beginner and have no idea about the trading activity here in cryptocurrency.

Now, when you get and master the movements, you can go to the real world of the trading industry, it seems like it's just an image that everything you do here is just a dream that doesn't have to stay long.

Practice and try to have a good grasps on market movement which is something that you do need to realize and learn up on what are the indicators you would be using.Just like other people been saying

above on where emotion isnt something that you could handle it out or getting it having in control.Demo trade is only good for technical basis but not for emotions because if we do speak

and talk about real money deal then it would be an another story for us to deal with. You cant learnt up everything in one go and this is why
you should really be that mindful about your actions.

I can see a lot of people complaining about demo accounts versus real trading accounts. Some are saying when they are trading demo accounts, they are profitable but when they start to do on real trading accounts, they get a lot of losses most of the time.
What I can say about is, that is normal. That's how trading works, you can't get always 100% guaranteed win trades.

A demo account is necessary in forex but not necessary in cryptocurrency trading in my opinion, at least in spot trading.

Spot trading is not very risky so I find it is better for a novice trader to start with small capital and learn real trading slowly rather than spending a long time in demo trading without getting real risks.

I think the real loss (although it is painful) is a better teacher than the demo account.
I failed to solve the captcha!!! ;D

In my opinion demo accounts are a great tool to get familiar with the ins and outs of trading and we can learn a lot from it. It depends all on our motivation and mindset towards the demo account to make the experience as real as possible. The first time I got involved with demo accounts was back in highschool, we had in my last few years always a stock trading challenge sponsored by one of the big banks. We were basically trading real stocks and options on a paper account with some prices for the top 3 traders at the end. Even though you don't really feel the wins and losses you can make it a real experience if you believe in it. The same thing I would recommend to do when trying out trading for the first time. It's our own decision to be emotional invested in a demo account or not, if we start the whole experience thinking that it's not real money anyways than we will probably not learn a lot. Demo accounts are a great way to test our strategies and see how profitable we would be in the real world.

I tried a lot of demo accounts when before but I am not convinced. It is helpful, especially to newbies but I still prefer trading real money but with a small balance if I am a newbie trader. In trading with demo accounts, your emotions are not the same as when you are trading with real money. So you will be lax, you are not scared if your trade is not moving in the right direction and the effort might not be the same when you are trading with a real account. As to the testing of indicators, we can easily check the reliability by checking the previous charts and performances.

I do recommend it to newbies. And when they are doing well (serious or not), they can open a real account and fund it with a small amount of money because this is the real testing of your skills and analysis happens. So only when you are profiting from a real account you can decide to grow your capital.

Demo trading simply helps the newbie get acquainted with the trading platform, and it should only be for a few weeks. Compared to  live trading, demo trading lacks the ability to mental and emotional resilience.

Yes I accept this view that demo trading is to get use to the platform and the indicators to travel all the corners of the platform but talking on the emotional challenges, demo doesn't not give that courage because at a point in demo you begin to see loss of interest and a kind of assurance that all is set. Demo trading is fake money and real trading is real money and that is where the emotion is

For me, the real trading education starts where demo trading ends. What do you think?

This is the reality, you learn real trading when you begin the real trading. Demo is what can only get you acquainted to the platform.

I agree on this. I don't think demo account/assets could help you in any way to learn the trading. That is why it is said that start your journey with small amount just for learning. Also, what you can afford to lose.
So it is important to lose some in order to gain some. And if it's not real money, then you will not feel the emotions which will push you to learn more in order not to lose again.
But you need to make sure that you can find out your faults and work on them to improve yourself. Learn from your mistakes and become the best at it.
Finally, if you had experience with demo accounts, then the answer is simple. It doesn't help to learn the advance level of trading from which you can make profits.

Whats the point on using up lots of demo accounts considering that they do give out on the same function and over all purpose? If this one is to test out a particular platform then i would say that it isnt really that

much of a concern, considering that they are really just all the same. They might differ on some UI/UX application but in overall concept which it does give out on the same idea and target out which is to make

a profitable trade.Demo accounts arent really that something bad to start with specially when you are a complete newbie.Just like the rest been saying that
emotions is the thing that wont be mold up and enhance on this demo trade and this is where you could find it on actual trades.

Demo accounts shouldn't be compared to real or live account because at some point, someone tracing demo account with so many positive entries might decide to get into the real market and  just floop.
There are several differences between demo accounts and live account and some of this difference makes it more difficult to trade because of its strict nature of the job.
I always tell people not so see demo accounts as a practice tool for trading but rather be seen as learning floor where one especially new ones are given the opportunity to learn about that particular broker and get a clear picture of what his getting into.

Demo accounts might look like a waste of time but they are the perfect accounts to use for backtesting and forward testing a strategy if it works or not.

Besides strategy testing, demo accounts allow you to trade without losing real money what others might call jumping in the deepened without having the skill to swim..

Btw some brokers will require you to pass kyc before you trade real accounts but with demo accounts,  we are free to jump into these markets without Kyc.

I think every new users should try demo trading first as it helps user to be an experienced trader.
Well said, demo accounts are the perfect platform to gain trading experience though platforms like trading view will allow you to use them without the demo account  for your  experience.

You would be finding this to be useful even if you are already that having the experience. It is true about back testing which is something that i do whenever i do make a new strategy which i would really be testing out

on demo phase. This isnt really just a path or thing that newbie traders should start but also a good place for you to backtesting your strategies and finding out whether it would really be that viable for you

to make use or not. This is why its not really that something where its focused only on that part.Demo trading is good if you are complete zero knowledge newbie
in speaking about trading. You would be enhancing your technicality about trading but the rest would be learn on actual experience.

Unless that person wants to lose money by just doing forward testing, The main reason the demo was made was to practice without affecting your money and test your strategy. This is like a training ground when it comes to games; you need to go to training before going to the actual game to familiarize yourself with the controls and feel the game without getting into action just to prepare yourself. But again, others will say you can't learn because you can't feel emotions, but I would say that's true, but still, we do have our own preferences.

because you have no risk at all, I think this has become human nature, who likes a challenge and will be more enthusiastic if he is at risk, I don't know if this is true or not.

I have never tried a demo account, I just recently found out that there is one. Perhaps if I had known about it from the very beginning, I would have tried for the sake of interest what it is, but now I don’t see the point in it, because I’m used to it without it.

You are right, it's human nature, we will never take it seriously knowing it's just a demo account, no real money, so we will never grow up with it. The feeling will be completely different, I bet even if you master the demo account, you are just a beginner when you start using the real account. Your psychology and emotions are different, it will make you a completely another person with a fear of losing money, and uncertainty with your judgment...You will always be a newbie if you use a demo account.

Demo account is good but we need to be very careful the way we use the demo account because using demo account for too lose can make us lose more if we enter live trading. It is not too wise for us to keep trading with demo account for too lose. It has it own effect so mixing the two will be a wise decision.

There are people who are very good at using demo account and they don't make loses but when they go to live a trading, they keep making consistent loses because they have been accustomed to trading without gear if losing using the demo account and when they enter into live trading, initiating the same pattern will make them make bigger loses because the market does not care if we make mistake or not.

Since most newcomers come to the crypto market without any trading skills, a demo account will allow you to get acquainted with the trading platform and learn the basic trading strategies. In any case, using a demo account should be useful before moving on to trading with real money.

OP, demo trading is very much important I must say because from that demo trading, you would get more idea on how to do or go about your trading when you go live. I have had the experience before. When I first registered an account, I was advised to try a demo account before I go live but I insist since I had done something of that nature before thinking is was of the same doings bit knowing that the technique varies. Mate, I regretted my actions then. Before o could realize my mistake I have lost heavily which made me to stop and opted to learn and ever since then, I do not just go into trading like that I do my market analysis before going live trading.

Yep! but I must admit that I didn't use the trading demo when I was starting my life as a trader. I directly try to invest in some coins and due to fomo I enter in a wrong time and lose big time. Also, demo accounts is good and he can maximize the use of it, he can also decide by using that if he need to learn more by using real money, it can also help him to make futures not only spot. All in all, most of may agree with me that we skip that part but my advice will be the same, use demo account, it is limited but helpful.

Skipping demo isnt really bad when you are a complete noob but we should really be starting up with small amounts on a live account for us to have that kind of learning. Its never been advisable that you should really

be making use of huge amount or budget when you do trade up on your first time or even on your first year. There's no way that you could learnt up trading as fast as single day and this is where newbies
do really think off and this is where they do commit out mistakes and errors.

This is why its up to yours on which path you would be taking whether taking up demo first or would directly go live.

It's true that demo trading lacks the emotional and mental resilience required in real trading. However, demo trading can still be helpful to practice and develop trading skills before transitioning to live trading. It's essential to find a balance between demo and live trading to gain practical experience and learn from mistakes.

The demos are meant to introduce the platform and how to trade properly, although they are also meant for someone to learn strategies. You're right that it's never the same emotionally between demo and live, but at least it helps.

But anyway, the most important part of the demo account is giving every newbie a chance to understand how to trade and understand some of the most common things about trading. I don't expect they will make it into something that can help him get the same returns when trading on live account, the volatility will never be the same.

A demo account has been created for the sake it gives the chance for newbies to learn to trade using their platform and they can do trading while using free money. It helps a trader to become ready for real trading, however, the situation is quite different. Honestly, it was a different feeling when you are in practice trading where you can't feel stress and worry as you will never incur losses. But if you are in actual trading and using your hard-earned money, there you feel how trading looks like, there are emotions built.

However, if I am to share my honest opinion about demo account from personal experience, I would say that it helped me build confidence, in addition while using it, I developed some good trading skills and risk management strategies that made trading easier when I moved to a live account. Worthy of note is that I did use demo account alone, becasue it is just a simulation and do not 90% reflect the true state of the market. So, added some resources too that helped me along the way.

1. admiralmarkets.sc/education/articles/forex-basics/...f-forex-demo-account
2. http://tradethatswing.com/when-to-switch-from-demo-to-liv...rading-real-capital/
It's true that the feeling of loss that you get when you lose money in real life trading, you won't feel the same in a demo account. And to eliminate this feeling, the system of demo trading is organized. If you want to get the same feeling of using a demo account as real life trading, then you don't need a demo account, you can do real trading.
But in my case, demo account plays a very effective role in applying new tricks or testing analysis, moreover, demo account is a good place to learn trading for those who are new.

But again this is not for all people as others tend to learn more mostly if they lose money in real trading

I think that is a mistake many people did back in the day, to be fair I did something similar but also not similar. What I did was I used a demo account to start learning about trading so mine is different in that sense, but I was doing great there so I assumed I would do great at real trading as well, which obviously wasn't true and I ended up being terrible and lost a lot of money as well which is the similar part.

If we really want to make a profit, then what we need to do is making sure we can understand the risks and that means both a demo account at first, but then slowly start the real one and not jump in with all your money like me on first trades.

Nope, not at all. Just spend a few days on demo platform to get acquitted to the platform, then move quickly to the real thing. Demo is simulation. It doesn't have emotions attached to it like the real thing. Years spent on demo trading won't translate to being successful on live trading. In fact, if one overstays on demo trading, it could make one to panic when the real trading kicks in. Instead of dwelling on demo for long, I advise that you fund a live account and reduce your risk to the nearest minimum.

Demo is just a startup account that will refresh your memory from the old way you usually think to a new ways of reasoning, usually Demo can not be taken serious while handling it why because there's no effects or love to show you are serious while dealing with Demo. Although it's advisable for a newbie to start with it but for me I will suggest newbies to funds their account with at least $30 to $50 of their real money into the real account for them to show seriousness while trading.

Demo account make you very lazy and possibly one might think he is making progress while is a setback, only a real account that could detect how faster we are leaning otherwise demo makes no effects our body.

I also don't fully recommend beginners to start with demo account if they have basically learned some strategies. Currently, in my opinion, demo accounts are no longer needed, especially if you just want to learn, and whoever they are, it will be easy for them to learn how to trade and understand some of its features with a guide.

The most important thing before starting trading is that they have to learn, that includes strategies and how to do analysis. Get deposit and start trade, it is what I think is better than spending lot of time on the demo account.

I could remembered then when I was carving for trading at my amateur stage, I was trading on demo built my account from 10k to 100k with this happiness I thought I am now a guru that I can maintain my account from 100$ to $1k if I start trading, but I was wrong I never knew those things I was practicing was just like a mirage. Then one must start with small money, if you are not doing paper trading or using demo account (invest as much as you can afford to lose). The biggest mistake people make is that they start straight away with huge money, thinking that crypto is a place where one can get rich overnight. That shouldn't be your mindset while you start doing crypto trading. You have to understand that bitcoin trading has its own risk and one must be willing to undertake such risk in order to proceed.

Talking from personal experience, as a beginner one could lose a lot of money using live account without practicing with demo account for a starter. I remember my first day trading with demo account after finishing the verbal class with my mentor then. I open my broker account and enter a trade with 5 lots  ;D
In less than five minutes I recorded a lost of over $100. I had no idea of what exactly was going until my mentor returned and explain more to me about lot and how it works. Imagine it was a live account and not demo  ;D
Sincerely, I won't be able to sleep that day.

Demo accounts have been helpful to most newbies traders this way they can familiarize themselves with the site before making a real trading account this has been the most effective trading tool and even some centralized exchanges such as binance and the rest of others have what their call Trading Academy.

This way newbies are thought the fundamental things they need to know before they start trading, so having a demo account will also help to prepare the trader ahead before they involve real money.

Demo accounts Haha it's nothing really in demo accounts you can learn at least 90% of the demo account traders are nonserious if you want to gain the experience then jump into the field there you'll learn what you never can in the tutorials and demo accounts. Let me explain the demo accounts case with an example.

A person from a small village was nominated for the Event speech in a village in front of the whole village and chief guests, He was well-spoken but lack of confidence someone recommended he go to the fields and practice speech in form of the crops and he did it, He was confident now to speech in front of the audience but when he came up to the stage and heard the different voices cheering and clapping his total confidence lost.

Now coming to demo and trading to a real market is like bro same to same in the demo you never get motivated on profits and never gain any experience on the losses because the funda is not and you don't realize their value to your portfolio so start with small but start with real.

Demo accounts are used by trading students as part of the learning process to test their strategies and analytical skills, I think every experienced trader had a demo account in the beginning. There is a confidence/arrogance that comes from having good trades consistently on a demo account, newbies think winning trades on a demo account prove you’re a good trader and ready to trade for real. They psychology is different when trading with real money, when a trade goes bad and you’re losing money, emotions (fear, greed, denial) starts to play on you because this is the first time you’re losing for real. It’s a reality check, and that’s where you begin to doubt all you thought you knew and may end up deserting your trading plan. Someone recommended trading like a robot, that’s impossible to do because we are human, even though we can control our emotions, but the truth is we can’t totally get rid of our feelings.

I would say that you are wrong but at the same time not for the reasons you think. It's not there so you could learn if you are a great trader or not, you think that demo is there to make sure you are a great trader, or you could make a profit.

It's not the reason, the reason why demo exists is to make sure you know how your strategy works and test those, even when you are a veteran and want to try a new strategy then you can go back to demo and test it there. It's the testing ground for trading and trying new things and newbies have all the things that are new to them, so it takes time and not quick thing to make sure you understood how it works and how to follow your strategy.

The more I practice the more lesser I became weak to understand some technicality that governs trading, until I have to forget about my Demo account and moved directly to my Binance account to start spot trading. It was then I began to understand little things about how to trade and the rest things though currently scalping helps me mostly.

That is it!
From my previous post if you read correctly you would noticed were I said of starting with at least $30 or $50 because I know this are minimal amount most exchange allows to trade, though Binance is from 10$ but is too little to start that was I said of $30, this would make you focus as a newbie than just toiling with a Demo account that won't add any value to your trading journey.

But if you treat demo seriously it is the same with real one I mean it is just our emotions playing us because when we play on demo the back of our heads telling us that we wont be lossing anything so it is okay to lose and try it again but if you practice it like a real one then there are no problem on it. But again this is not for all people as others tend to learn more mostly if they lose money in real trading
Then I hope all of the demo account users will think that way and consider this like actual trading. In this way, they will practice controlling their emotions and make all decisions seriously. Having a good beginning will also have a good ending and this is what we have to do while we are demo accounts and take the opportunity to learn more. We put this as a learning experience and make it a reason for our success as we can say to ourselves that we can handle managing our emotions while it was free money, how much more if we are using our own.

For any new beginner, a demo account is a good recommendation to start with, this doesn't take you anything than helping you prevent simple mistakes you could fall into when you're in the real dealings, know that you can't make mistakes regardless of how small it is when you're trying to make a transaction, you can neither afford to miss any slight mistake on sending to a wrong address or or omitting from the address characters and so on.

That is what he said, to have an overview but he only add that we must have a limitation of using it. I totally agree with that because both live and demo trade still has their own differences. I think many can relate with what you have experienced. You got too excited there to earn real money so you start live trading immediately. This is the same when we skip the practice mode in each of the video games that we play.

This was not wrong as long as you are very familiar with a similar type of game before. The same thing can be applied with trading. In your case, since you already lose a lot, I hope you already learned your lesson. Doing demo trade might be less effective or may not really make sense anymore. You can just continue doing live.

It is a fact that the experience of trading with a demo account and a live account is very different. I don't see a lot of emotions involved when one trades with a demo account, but when it comes to a live account, the fear is on.

Then what is the use of a demo account? For me it's only worth it to acquaint you with trading features including charts, how to buy and sell, and make use of trading pairs. It's not real, but I must say it's great for some beginners who want to start trading. I come to the conclusion, a demo account is good for some reason, but it is much better to start trading with a live account for a small initial budget.

Specially with the emotion part on where it is really that important to mold and enhance with considering that this market is really that unpredictable if we do speak about moving prices. This is why you would definitely directly tell the difference if we do speak about emotions which it would really be just normal since we are really that making use of real money when we do have a live account compared when you do demo's on which you could really be that so confident on taking up positions just because you do know deep inside on your mind that you wont lose nothing and this is where we do able to tell
that it isnt something that you could be able to handle it out if we do speak about real money.

The problem is that a demo account should be regarded more as a means of enticement. Usually everything in this account is set up in such a way that a beginner will feel confident. And usually beginners trade much better on a demo account than on a real one. A beginner, excited by successes in trading on a demo account, usually invests large amounts on a real account right away - and loses them. That's why it's better to trade small amounts on a real account than any amounts on a demo account.

Only people who have experience both trading on demo and live account can give an accurate response to this thread, I have experience both and I can say demo trading is nothing like trading with live account. I would recommend practicing with live account with very few dollars you won't mind losing to the market. Live trading has an effect it gives to you when you're trading there than demo.

Demo makes you feel invisible and then come out positive but if you try same level of confidence in live account, you'll be wiped out immediately. Demo is good for few weeks but I'll never advise anyone to spend so much time on trading with demo accounts as there's no real experience on the apps instead go live after you have learnt well.

I think you are a little off the track in perceiving demo account purpose. A demo account is not made for wild trading where you already know back of your mind that you can trade any amount that you want and even if you lose it, nothing is gonna happen to you mentally. A trading demo account should be used to learn technical analysis. You should start plotting the graphs, doing technical analysis, and having your strategies in place. This can help you understand whether you are predicting the trading pattern future perfectly or not. It doesn't mean you should put any amount in the trading demo account. You should just put what you would afford in real trading and learn like real scenario.

This can help you a lot in real zone.

Whether it will help newbie traders or not in real trading it depends on whether the individual himself can use it properly or not.
If newbie traders understand what a demo account really is, and they just want to use it to help them get to know the functions and features of the platform used, then that's okay.
But the problem is that most newbie traders misunderstand this. There are still many newbie traders who simulate and think that the demo account will be similar to the situation as when live trading and eventually they get used to the conditions so they think and believe that live trading will be as easy as doing a trading demo account.
If beginners have such an understanding, it is not good because the conditions in a demo account are very much different from live or real trading both technically, liquidity and moreover they are not trading with their own money it will not be able to stimulate or bring out psychological aspects of newbie traders.

The idea isn't far from getting acquinted with the trading with trading environment and the various conditions that persist there but, what we can't do is place a timing to it.

One can't qualify in time, how long it would take to understand and get acquainted with the trading environment and some mastery of trading. Obviously, you are not pained on a lose with a demo account as you would be on a live account. Your sure it ain't any real money but, you are still very conscious of the fact that, your not being good at your trade and your loosing your trading capital.

One should go live when, your most likely to make more profit than loses.

I would say that demo trading should still be done, even if just to see about how you know or not what you are doing with the buttons, like literally even if for nothing else, that would alone be enough to actually fix everything figure it out. I know many people do not approach the situation as something normal or not, but that is the thing we should be considering about most of the time when we are trading.

So start with a demo account, even if for just a week, just to see how it feels, then you can start with smaller amounts and then try to invest and see how it is doing and that's how you could make a profit from it but doesn't mean you should be doing that.

Domo is good though but it will only end up guiding you to know how to manage your trade and prepare you for a better chance of trading real account.

surely be able to face off and able to meet on this kind of trading where you do make use of real funds or balance which you would really be that too careful on making up positions,
unlike when you are really that using up a demo.

Trading on a demo account on the exchange is only necessary in order to understand the technical subtleties of the exchange's functionality: to understand where which button is responsible for which functions. Because, you will agree, it will be a shame if you trade with real money, or cryptocurrencies, and lose part of the deposit due to ignorance of the functions of the buttons.

But psychologically, a demo is not real money and your trading style will be different. So there will be no sense from such practice.

Style would really be that different because you are making use of real money on which it would really be making you serious because you cant really just afford or do make out actions just like on what you have

done in demo.In demo we could really just make out those max position because we arent that afraid on what goes wrong because we cant just lose up money which it would really be just a normal approach
that we would really be doing. This is why experience would really be different. Its true that it would really be just good for technical aspects but it would be totally different when you are
already making use of real money in trading.Demo is good but only when you are really just that practicing that things needs to be practiced on.

Yeah, this is something most people forget about and use demo account like it's nothing important. They trade whatever they feel like trading and try to see if their gut feeling could make them rich, and then if they somehow manage to do that, then they go into real trading thinking they could do the same again. As we all know that's not the purpose of it and we should be avoiding that as much as possible.

I believe that it is important to know the difference between TA and wild trading, if you do TA and draw on the chart, literally use something like tradingview to figure out what to buy and when to buy it, then check it on demo account. That is what you should be using it for.

A demo account can be a place for you to learn a trading platform so that you can see how you can begin to strategize in conducting trading activity here in crypto trading. It's just that sometimes other people use the demo account for bad reasons to deceive others just so they can get the bad motives they have. But all in all for me the demo account is okay because it really helps newbies.

From my experience, trading with demo account significantly differs from trading with your actual money. With demo account, you are more relaxed, sometimes you take risks easily, you know that you lose nothing if you lose demo coins. Psychologically, you are in a different, more relaxed state but when it comes to trading with your own money, usually you overthink, you are more anxious, you always want more profit and if you lose, you always try to firstly get back what you lost and then profit but sometimes it happen that you lose even more and then it's absolutely like gambling to my mind.
My recommendation is, always trade long-term, never look at market cap every day. Every day picture of cryptocurrency prices will push you to make more mistakes, believe me.

I think every new users should try demo trading first as it helps user to be an experienced trader. I also tried demo trading and learned a lot. It really helps when you do future trading even if can generate trading strategies with demo accounts.
I also agreed that every beginner in trading should start with Demo trading, however trading a Live account is absolutely a different ball game, I demo traded and had made a lot profit consistently probably maybe emotions wasn't attached me, while trading however when I switched to Live trading I had blown my account several times though I traded with $20 just to have the feelings of Live trading of course it was a different experience compared to Demo trading, I think every newbie shouldn't waste much time on demo rather they should start live trading with the amount of money they can afford to lose after consistent profit earning thereafter they should increase their funds.

Instead of wasting time on demo account it is indeed better to use a smaller amount to start trading at least that will build in the newbies the consciousness of wanting to profits and need to learn more along the line, demo account could be of great help also, at least it will allow the trader to learn the basic feature of the casino before risking real money but thos demo practice also harass limitation just as I mentioned above.

Trading requires a lot of time and experience and as a newbie the faster you learn the better for your trading journey, so whatever ways either through a demo account or a real trading account it all boils down to how the trader makes use of the time and chances along the line.

It is not a must to try demo trading. I never use demo trading, I have no problem with trading so far. I can get the trading knowledge by reading articles or watching YT videos. I also tried directly trading in a such platform with small money, so I got experiences and won't have big risk to lose huge money. The main thing to do is to focus learning and use small money first if you are still a newbie. Anyway, for newbies, it is better to stay away from future trading. It is not a proper place for newbies.

Demo account are helpful for traders, they actually varies in different type but I prefered the ones that will  mimick the activities of what I'm buying in real time. Like the bitcoin demo account in paper trading and Binance testnet, anyone can trade bitcoin and other coins and be able to follow exactly what is happening in the real market, the money in trader accounts are not real but they can use ut to trade and feel exactly how the mainstream traders use their own money and I'm very confident that if anyone want to start trading, it will help them get exposure and experience withiout any loss during training.

Using a demo account is not a bad idea but when u say for few weeks to me every human is different when it come to learning and catching up with things fast. i still use demo account even as i know how to trade i use it to back test my strategies know where am wrong and right. yes live account has it own mental psychology when trading with it but demo is for EYE OPENING to actually tell you the truth when using it.

I agree that demo trading is only to familiarize the platform. Although it can be of big help for newbies to learn about trading. But once someone is ready to trade, then demo trading is no longer needed. A newbie trader can deposit a small amount in order to start trading. And as most traders understand, trading is also psychological. You will have no emotion or you can slack and get bored using a demo trading whereas a real trading account even with a small amount is more lively, and motivational because it is real trading. It's like playing in an online casino using play money, it's zero to little fan compared to using real money no matter how small the amount is.

I do see demo account as a playing account because you don't lose anything, you trading like a pro without having any feelings even though you lose thousands of dollars. This is not a real account and we should not put our dependency on it because it can affect the way we trade and send us off guard.

We need to be mindful the way we use it to learn how to trade because the simple reason for demo account is to have a feel of how trading looks like and make necessary adjustment when due so you can be able to trade on live when you are ready.

We don't need to spend a lot of time on demo trading because it as big effects than what we are enjoying. There is no feelings when we trade with it and we might not even know how it pains when we lose small amount of funds in the market compare to losing big amount of money.

A newbie shouldn't spend so much time trading demo accounts. Because it will never give them the main experience of trading. I see demo account as a means to just get familiar with the whole trading experience and the newbie shouldn't spend so much trading there because the volatility and experience is never the same as live trading.

Demo accounts are only good for those who want to be familiar with how the market trading works. And once you have gained knowledge and familiarity about it, then start taking risk in real trading. That will expose you on how it really works, and let you experience losses and small wins. So demo accounts are just for starters, but it will never be too enough if you are aiming to be a good and successful trader.

1. Familiarization of terms and other tools
2. Knowing about market behavior
3. Backtesting several methods or strategies

But the only thing that lacks on this one is

- Emotion and risks handling.
We know that on a demo account on which it doesnt really involved real money on which the sense of having that meticulous approach
when you do make out a position isnt really there. You do know in your mind that you cant lose nothing which means that you would really be having that kind of
carelessness when it comes to positioning since you arent gambling or risking on something.

Exactly. Demo accounts will hinder you from experiencing real events in the live trading scenario. Though it can still be helpful at first, but when you think you have gained already an idea on how trading works, then start trading for real. Set yourself to explore and trade on the real crypto market and let’s see how you can manage and control your emotions when you are trading. Know that demo accounts will not help you control your emotions, but in live trading, you are letting yourself experience the real trading world and experience some inevitable losses more than some small gains.

I like to test some strategies there as well, that's a good method. I mean I know that its not that easy to find a good one right away, so why not try it on a demo account first and see if it will hit and it will be good, if not then I could remove it. That way I can spend as much time as I want to on testing it, literally could have 10 different accounts and 10 different strategies running together for many months before I make my decision. No need to rush, no need to make a decision, I am not losing any money anyway, its just free. This way I make sure if it works or not, and if it keeps on working for many months then I give it a try. It may end up failing even after that, but the ones that fails on demo usually end up being the worst ones so its much better not risking any money this way.

is that you cant really that able to enhance your emotional aspect on which just like on what been said that you cant really lose money on here which means that you would really be not minding much on what
ever actions you would be making. You do know that you cant lose money on here on which it would be normal that you would really be that not serious on taking positions.
Its up to someone though because back testing is never been that something  you could ignore, you would be testing out a particular method or strategy on various market conditions
on which you would be finding out ways on how it would turn out to be beneficial.

Trading requires more techniques in handling our trades, I do triggered trades on my own without the knowledge from others, whenever I noticed an entry, I immediately triggered my positions and setting TP and SL, sometimes I earned and sometimes I record losses. Failing and attempting again is what basically results to consistency, the only way to keep pushing until one achieve the ultimate target in the market. Executing different strategies is recommended inother to select the one that best suits our trading style. Demo accounts do prepare us for we should expect ahead, because it's not a live account and we have absolutely nothing to lose.

Using SL is really just good when you do make out some short trades but if we do speak about long term or wide or swing trades then it wont really be that necessary. It is always been best that you should really know

on how to identify a perfect entry although it cant be perfect but somewhat really that considered to be a good spot to trade in.It doesnt matter on how we would really be doing it, what matter most on here is that
you do really know on what you should gonna do. Demo accounts is really that good on testing out a certain strategy on which you would really be that having the idea on when it should be used.
We know that most people would be directly be making out trades on actual phase on which using up with real money.I would say that it isnt bad but it would be wasteful on losing money on just those trials
or on the time that you are still familiarizing but well this is a personal choice.

There are people who had been aware about demo account but still that pushing about on using up that live ones because they do really love to directly feel up the real essence on dealing
with the market with real balance, well its their choice to make in the first place.

When I was starting out as a forex trader, I started out with a demo account, it really helped me gain so much insight on how trading really works, it didnt just help me get acquainted with the trading platform, it helped me learn quit a lot as well, the only downside for me is that the minimum amount of virtual money I could get credit was $5000, I demo traded with this $5000, made loses for few days and then started making profits, but when I began a live account trading, I began with just $10, and it seemed to me like I was just starting trading afresh, I eventually lost the entire $10, it took me some time before I could catch up again..

Over all, starting trading with a demo account is very good for beginners they can learn alot through it, but they should not Make the mistake of assuming they are already perfect traders because they won most trades on the demo account, real trading starts on a live account.

There's not that much to think of demo accounts, they're good as testing features of the exchange where you're about to trade. And it's actually good marketing honestly. Because when someone new tries it out and he's winning into his demo account, that will make him encourage to deposit and later on do the trade. But we all know that the actual trading is entirely different from the typical that we know of. That's why those that have lesser knowledge in trading and are still new are likely the ones that are losing more.

For me, the demo account is only suitable for basic learning materials from trading, for example, those who are used to trading forex will want to learn crypto trading, they can first use a demo account and vice versa because there are several differences between forex and crypto, learn how it works and the most important thing is to study the features available from the exchange so that when we start using real money, we don't experience losses due to incorrect use of the features, but starting trading with real money judging by success using a demo account is a mistake because demo and live trading are completely different.

I do agree that backtesting is good but doing it on demo account to see how it does in the future is a lot better. Think about it, if you backtest then you learn "what it could have been if I did it" but with demo account you are doing it live action on the current market and if you are right then you are right and the strategy works.

With backtesting since the prices are set and what is done is done, I could go back and do a million different tests and find what would have worked the best, there is no dynamic changes at all, it's already set in stone. But when you are using a demo account to test a new strategy you are doing it live, and that means anything could happen and you do not know what's going to be the result, that's what matters in the end.

Demo accounts are still considered useful for beginner traders since they allow them to be more aware on how the market trading works. And they will come to see what is there with trading that they have to prepare before they experience live trading. But always know that demo trading account is just beneficial at first, since you won’t be expecting to use demo trading account the whole time. You can’t be successful in real trading if you’ll never experience live trading using live account. In the end, what you’ve learned from using demo trading account has less effect compared to letting yourself exposed to live trading with your own emotions that are mostly the biggest barrier in achieving successful trading.

Those demo accounts are there to simulate a trade. It helps you try different strategies and learn more about the market without having you to risk anything. Also those demo account helps you learn about the platform and how to use the different features offered by the platform. Once you get used to the platform and start feeling comfortable there, trading becomes a lot easier for that person. But yeah, since people don't actually risk any money, they "don't" actually care how they trade. They use risky strategies without thinking twice. They wouldn't be performing the same if they used actual money. And you get "real" experience once you start risking real money.

The demo account is mainly for practicing to gain pre-knowledge about what you are going to face in the real market or used to try out new trading strategies, it is just like practicing before going to the real competition, The real experience comes from trading on a live account, So never rely on the experience you got practicing on a Demo account as you have gotten one, your experience can only be proven if you are trading profitably on a live account and that is when psychology and emotions come into play.

I think every new users should try demo trading first as it helps user to be an experienced trader. I also tried demo trading and learned a lot. It really helps when you do future trading even if can generate trading strategies with demo accounts.

Although I would say demo trading is quite helpful, but yes I also believe it’s not a must either. It’s still an edge if you have real experiences in the market, by incurring some mistakes and losses that will most likely teach you on how to be a good and reliable trader. Experience will always be the best teacher no matter what, so it’s not bad idea if you jump into trading experiences in a live trading rather than using demo account while you’re starting.

Because if you are new to trading and have zero knowledge, demo trading is quite helpful, and also as a new trader it could be a potential to gain experience and learn about it. Because I think Rral experiences in the market, even with their share of mistakes and losses, can indeed be valuable lessons that contribute to becoming a good and reliable trader. Not quite helpful but indeed very helpful on making  yourself get familiarize on things not only with those terminologies and tool names or testing out strategies but also you would be able to have that kind of experience and awareness on how this market behaves or moves on which it would really be that recommendable if you do start up on having zero knowledge or complete noob, then dealing up with demo account is never that a bad idea but there are people who do really love on making direct deposits on real money accounts on which they would directly making out some decisions on trading directly on using real fund. Well, its their decision because we know that on how risky it would be on having that but they dont really mind on because they do really believe that they could really be able to learnt up things along the way
Myself did start on directly make out some real fund deposits but not really that much because i do know that im just a noob and making use of big balance does have no sense because you would most likely
be losing it all with those early trials but of course its part of the process. Minimize losses as much as you could.

1. admiralmarkets.sc/education/articles/forex-basics/...f-forex-demo-account
2. http://tradethatswing.com/when-to-switch-from-demo-to-liv...rading-real-capital/
It does not make any sense if you aim to be a good and reputable trader and yet, you stay in your demo trading account for long. That will never exposed yourself to the real world of trading. So learn to take the risk by spending minimal amount in your first trades. Never mind if you end up losing, that is expected anyway for first time traders. What’s important is you are starting to gain real life trading experiences, and when you’re good enough, you will have all the chances to regain all what you have lose in the first place.

Demo doesn't actually feed us with our expectations on live accounts. That's the main deal, we faces the market with our own money and miminize the lotsize that's convenient for our trades, which will either end on profits or losses. Experience they say is the best teacher, we adapt to live trading only when we mastered how to control our emotions and balance on the market. Trading with the demo accounts grants us self confidence specifically when we triggered TP on our trading positions, but basically demo helped the newbies become more acquainted with trading systems.

I think once you already learned trading. You can easily be familiarize to a new crypto trading platform even without using its demo features. TBH, I don't like to use it, and the reason why, is because I might end up making lots of money that I can never withdraw. It will only make me feel depressed knowing that I can never make that much money in a short period of time in a real trade because I was careful about taking risks.

This is why some people can say that demo trade are only a waste of time and if they want to practice, they can still do it for real but by only using small amounts. The goodness of it is they can earn something once they do really well or they get lucky.

Using a demo trading account gives us an edge while we are starting to trade, but we know once we enter the real trading market, everything should be learned all by yourself. And the more real experiences you gain, the more likely you will win your trades. And with this, I think demo account will not be sufficient enough. One should learn how to trade in its real scenario, otherwise you will never experience controlling your emotions at all when trading.

Demo is really good in backtesting your strategy, and you really have a point on the experience or how we feel when using real money, but again, this is up to the people if they want to risk, as others still don't want to risk their real money. They want to have established their strategy and wait to see if it is profitable. This is called playing safe, which they learn in this kind of method, but to others they tend to learn from experience and losses. That is why if what ever works on you, then you go for it, as we have different ways to learn.

Demo account to me is not absolutely bad. One can use it to learn many strategies and it also helps to get one acquainted with the trading and the broker's display features. The experience can not be compare with real/live account in whatever way. The feeling and tension associated with trading on live account is not there and as such one might be less serious and ignore to apply strict monitoring.

Speaking from experience, I do forget I enter a market some times when I was still trading with demo account simply because I have nothing to lose but everything change when I switch to live account. The emotions itself won't allow me to take eyes off my pc/phone. Conclusively, one can make use of it to learn the basics of trading like how to enter markets, select pairs and setting of lotsize etc. But using it for a longer time than required is a complete waste of time.

To be honest, for me, a demo account turned out to be a very good option. At least I used this option for work and was satisfied. I used a demo account from Amarkets for training, and this option seemed pretty interesting to me.
There are no new interesting things in the demo account.  Demo account is like main trading account, demo account trades with fake money and main account trades with original money. the purpose of using a demo account is to gain trading experience without financial loss. I don't think or know of any other motive.

Demo trading will never be able to give you real profits as you are only trading not for real. So you have to experience live trading as it's the only way you will have the chance to improve your knowledge and honed your skills so you can take advantage when trading in the market. Although I have to say demo trading is quite helpful for beginners, but demo trading will never be good in the long run as it will only limit your abilities and capabilities to trade unlike when you push yourself trading even with a small amount of money as you are still susceptible to losses.

I'm totally against the demo account because I think a trader will never learn real trading experience with a demo account. The person is trading with virtual money and there is no gain or loss during the process. A trader who isn't having any emotions during trading process is totally a newbie trader because he/she would never learn what the trading is, and how losing could cause sadness and emotional damage. A trader who does trading with real money learns the steps with experience that how he/she could save his/her current capital and earn more money with the help of trading. Such traders always try their best to do proper technical analysis and research the news articles related to the pair they are trading.

A good level of trader is not created over night, a good trader becomes good because of experience of trading with real money. During the process of trading the trader learns from his/her mistakes and fixes those mistakes in next trades. The more a trader trades the higher experienced he/she becomes. The trading experience is not only limited to learning technical analysis only. A trader also needs to learn other skills like emotional control during the trading session. If a trader has no control over his/her emotions then such traders can never be profitable in long run.

Trading can be very easy and interesting when using a demo account because we don't feel anything on whether we are losing or gaining. This makes trading to look very easy to traders especially the newbies, that is why when this kind of person that had been trading on demo for too long finally go live, they will start making crazy loses because they never felt it at all.

Demo is the only way to know how the trading system works. Even till date I use demo account, why! Because each time I wait for breakouts and retest I already placed trade in demo. So when I just check if the trade is doing well or bad I will go check on trade view if it still remains at same price no need of stressing my self going to trading view 😁😂. But never the less, demo will give you the experience you need. Only if you are ready to learn from it.

Indeed, demo account is very useful when you are a newbie and while still learning to trade, a way to prepare and enhance your knowledge and skills. And all the things that we have learned can be applied in actual trading but can't expect that the results are the same as what we experienced while using the demo account as it was totally different. And this is because we feel no worries when trading that we never use our money and even if we make a wrong decision that was still okay. After all, even though we are spending 10 years using a demo account we can't see a perfect trade, mistakes often to happen no matter what.

Me personally, yes, I will use a demo account even if it's only for a while. Its function is that, especially for newbies, a demo account will help us at least to understand more easily the mechanics of trading on the exchange. Sometimes, it will be easier for someone to learn directly rather than reading some theory. Although this does not risk our own money, but at least it can help us to understand earlier and get used to some of the features and uses of trading.

1 month should be sufficient if we do speak about familiarizing but this is just my own personal opinion because there are traders who could really make out 1-2 weeks on using up demo before they

would decide on going with real balance on which i would say that it isnt bad because on the time that you are familiarized with those indicators and tools then it would really be just that right
that you would be able to make yourself get prepared for the real market engagement. It wont really be that so easy though but the rest of the learning would really be acquired through real
market experience. You shouldnt prolong yourself into demo account because this one cant really teach you out in terms of emotional handling or something that
it is really that connected to risks management because this would be particular be gained through real experience with real balance.

When trading using a demo account, there are no emotions involved; you are simply testing your previously backtested technique to see if it works in the real market. Forward testing is another term for it. The difference between demo and live accounts, however, is their execution due to emotion.

Quote
Do you think that should spend so much time trading on a demo account?
One month is enough time to test the system and see if it works, so if you're profitable and happy with your winrate, you can go to a live account.

Agreed, demo trading is only good to get acquainted with the trading platform. Skills that require for one to be a good trader such as emotional resiliency never come through it. People try demo trading, increase numbers there and dive into real market which never works out well.

Totally agree with you that demo account is only for learning trading methods. Trading on a demo account does not involve our emotions because here we have no fear of profit or loss. Unless our emotions are involved in our trading we cannot gain experience. Our experience will start when we start trading with real account and realize profit or loss. Then our trading will include our emotions. One who has not made a mistake, who has not suffered a loss, can never experience completeness. Therefore, there is a big difference between trading with a demo account and trading with a real account. A demo account is a good learning forum for newbies only.

First of all we have to remove the thought from our head that we have to make money by trading because when we trade with this thought, a lot of pressure will work in our head due to which we will not be able to study enough about trading properly. One thing we have to keep in mind when we learn about trading is that this learning is purely my own and I have to learn first don't let your brain think about financial matters because whenever your brain calculates financial gain your learning will not be complete. I feel that trading with demo account is slightly safer than live account and trading in demo account is much easier than live account.

Very wrong type of approach on things on which you do really believe that this is something that could give money instantly or on a very short of time which is really that a misconception or something that would really

be driving you to be desperate on which you would really be missing out on doing the right thing just because you do already have instill into your mind that making money with trading might really be that simple or easy.
On the time that you would really be having the actual dealing or experience then this is where realization would kick in but its already late because you have lost that much because of bad decisions.
This is why its really that important on learning about the basics on which having these demo trades is never been that bad at all but the fact these are the most preferable learning steps on where
you should start on which familiarizing on things on what needs to be familiarized.

Demo accounts are actually a big help for us especially for beginners who want to learn to trade without risking money. But know that live trading is a totally different scenario unlike when you are just a trading with a demo account. Your skills and strategies will be tested, as much as your emotions will matter a lot. And that’s the reality in live trading, at least you should be more exposed to it and let yourself experience losses that will eventually turn into future profits when you’re already a pro in it.

in my opinion, the demo account is not bad, before i got into the world of real trading (real live), i used the demo account for a long time for learning and also honed my skills in trading> such as technical skills.

but there is a big difference when we use a demo trading account and a real trading account, the mental pressure we receive when using a real trading account is really bigger than when we use a real trading account (the most real pressure is fear of losing money in trading)

i advise newbies to try trading with a demo account before actually trading with a real account (using real money) so that expectations in trading are not too high and will also have preparation for the worst possible scenario when trading.

Some newbies wouldnt really be doing this and would rather be going into that going live directly despite on lacking knowledge to it.On the time that they would lose money
then they would be going to scratch and would really be realizing that they should be knowing those basics. This is why its essential that you should start from bottom.

Emotions are really the problem in demo accounts because you just treat it like you'll lose nothing. That is why others prefer to have the live demo, as they know that every entry they've made is a loss if they didn't follow the strategy. The demo is really useful in back testing your strategy because you know if it is profitable because if you do it in live, you'll lose a lot. It still depends on the trader if he wants to utilize the demo or live trading, as we learn.

the demo account is good for testing our trading strategy, but we have to apply it as well as we can, considering that we don't lose any real money. therefore a trading strategy that can be honed on a demo account. after that we can hone our trading skills on a real account, and we will be able to feel the difference, because here our emotions will be tested, no matter how good the strategy is, but if our emotions are unstable then bad results will be achieved.

Definitely you aren't wrong to the point you are making, honestly speaking DEMO TRADING has really helped me a lot to see those loopholes like where I might be wrong and same time right. Demo trading also has basically drawn a line to where i should wait patiently for my setups to show up and so to say when to enter trades.

Emotions part is just way too much overblown. I get that you do not have emotions when you are trading on demo, but if you are having way too much emotions when trading for real, that's the part you should be working on as well. I am not saying that real money and demo account should have the same emotions, but it shouldn't really be "that" different neither, not as much as people claim to me.

Many people on this topic made it sound like when trading demo account there are zero emotions, and when trading for real everyone is dying from stress and near heart attack levels. Maybe it is not about the demo being easy, but maybe it is about people not being sure about this part, that does feel a bit different for sure, it is definitely an issue.

because in demo trading it is like set up can easily make profit,
obviously it will be very different from trading for real.

I disagree with the idea of demo account, and to be factual, demo accounts is one of the reasons why so many traders (especially newbies) are getting wrecked in the trading. Demo account fuels ego, enhances laziness and encourages pride. If you are a trader in view, or just getting grasps of what trading is all about, practice with a real trading account; The only way to learn is to practice on the playing field!

You do not become a good and quality trader by trading demo; you become a good trader by learning the ropes in the best quality way!

Compared to  live trading, demo trading lacks the ability to mental and emotional resilience. For me, the real trading education starts where demo trading ends. What do you think?

It’s useless to trade using demo account for so much long as it will never help you become more exposed to what is really happening in live trading. That way, you will only get limited knowledge about bitcoin which means you can never be confident when you trade. Unlike when you give most of your time trading with live account, not only you will honed your skills and strategies, but you will also develop best ways on how to handle your emotions which is a necessity when trading.

I think the demo account is just for an introduction for those newbies and that's about it,
the rest don't expect that you will be able to develop further when you continue to use the demo account,
it is definitely different trading using a demo account and trading live or real.

will be very different, trading using a demo account will be easier to profit from because there is no pressure that disturbs psychology.
So that everything will go well.

But when trading directly then psychology will be in play and it will determine whether you get a profit or not, because you use real money.

Demo accounts are only used for trading practice, not forever.
The really good practice is with a real account so that there will be a lot of trading experience that can make a person develop and learn.

Yes, trading using a demo account doesn't have any pressure, it makes us not burdened with anything, even if you lose, psychology won't be disturbed and it will be a pleasure with a demo account, the average person using their demo account is always with smooth wins.

But when trading directly then psychology will be in play and it will determine whether you get a profit or not, because you use real money.

When trading using real money, thinking will become even more sensitive because thinking will become more tense when real money is played in trading, plus they will be required to win if they are not profitable then psychology will be disrupted and that usually happens to those who are beginners who are just trying, and indeed a demo account as a lesson but will not provide any experience if you don't use real money.

Demo account is for testing the trading platform. A trading platform provides the demo account feature in order to test the site or practice there. Many times user don’t know about trading or how to trade, for that reason also he can use the demo account to understand the market and trades. At last I have seen people using demo account to try some strategies for the market. So if you ask me for the review, then I would say it doesn’t do any harm atleast. Rest its good to do practice and learn the market.

I think "feelings" do not matter in that regard because when you are using a demo the idea is not to see if you are a good trader, its about learning if you are a bad one. If you keep losing money there that means you should go back and study why you are losing money and that's important.

We could be a bit more wild and turn out to be right once or twice when demo trading, because we are not going to lose our money there so we can be a bit more free, but that's not a forever thing, if you are bad then you will end up losing money eventually and the average will be down. This is why I believe that its quite important to keep trying yourself on the demo first and if you are terrible then find out what went wrong and fix that.

Trading encourages users to have a Demo account just to get familiar with the platform and by giving some free money to enjoy while doing trading, they are engaging themselves to get ready until decide to formally launch an actual trade. I'd see it helps for beginners but there is also a disadvantage to using a Demo account as this won't make someone become emotionally strong and good in decision making. What they feel was just easy and no stress which is a far different experience when doing an actual trade and using our personal money.

Starting with theory and then practice, it will indeed be better. Real trading experience will provide a lot of experience, especially how to determine the strategy if, in an emergency, psychology will be played.

When not profitable and lead to losses it will be a lesson that needs to be corrected first.
Psychology will be stronger if we face all markets and not just wait for a bullish market.

I never do demo trading, I just start with theory and then apply it to real trading with a little money that is only used to learn.

Yes, it was just a training tool helping us to learn to trade and we benefit from that as we can apply the learning we got from it in actual trading. But it doesn't mean that it was enough, we learn more when we are in actual trade. More challenging and can really feel how hard is trading when you are new to the market, and you can really be saying that what you have got from the demo account is just a first step of learning how to trade because true learning is when you are using your real money and feel the disappointment when you lose.

This is what is lacking when you do deal up with demo account on which you cant really be able to master out or overcome your emotions or simply on its handling when you do demo. Why? you do know that you cant
lose money on demo account on which this wont really be utilized or something that would really be developed since we know when we do demo then we cant lose money. This is why when making up positions or application of strategies then you would really be that some sort of fearless. This is why it would really be that ideal that on the time that you had mastered out on demo trading then better switch it up to live
and make yourself that more better because this is where you would be able to find out on how important emotion handling would be specially on a market which is really that very unpredictable.
There's no way that we could be able to predict the future but somewhat because of the analysis and tools that we could make use of then we could at least made ourselves hang on the rope.

Also, other professional traders use demo accounts mostly when they try out new trading platforms to see how the UI works because if you deposit and try to trade if you don't know or feel lost in the UI of the platform, then it is already a loss. That is why they will try to learn those features of other platforms, as all platforms have different UIs. Let's just think of our demo account as our trading playground, meaning you can do whatever we can do in there, and we should make use of it and have fun on it.

Even veterans use it for testing. Newbies who go into trading right away would lose a lot of money because they didn't study, the ones that study and learned a lot would not have a way to confirm if they learned it or not, if they can learn more about it then they could end up with a profit during the demo account period, if they don't that means they haven't learned it and need to go back and study.

This is basically like exams at schools, it is not the SAT type of level, that's the real thing, but the quiz you take at school shows you how much you learned and how much you failed to learn. I believe that it is going to be pretty tough in the end and we should not be really wondering what we could be doing on the long run.

The demo account is very useful for newbies as it can teach them to understand and know how to trade, as well as help them avoid mistakes when starting. But newbies should not depend on or use the demo account for long. In my opinion, using a real account from the beginning is still better because the psychology of using real and fake is always different, different psychology will lead to different behavior. Even if you are proficient and make profits on a demo account, there is no guarantee that you will profit on a real account because your mentality and behavior will be completely different. So using the demo for too long will form unnecessary bad habits.

a demo account in trading will help beginners understand the look and features of the exchange. so as much as possible try various existing firut and also implement some of the strategies that have been studied is not a problem.
Even though beginners who directly use real accounts to trade have good psychology, everything also depends on the readiness of beginners. because everyone of course has a different psychology in dealing with market price movements which usually tend to make beginners panic.

The demo account is a practice account where no money or financial requirements is needed. Yet, it's an account that one has to be serious about for knowledge and trading experience to be impacted. And based on my experience as a trader and tutor, it's good to spend at least 6 months with a demo account.

The training should however continue even if the trader has proceeded in opening and trading with a live account. This is because almost all new traders will lose on their first tries, so they often have to return to the drawing table of the demo account to try to fix the missing pieces.

Frankly, the time spent on the demo account might not matter much, what matters is the seriousness of the trader and the sincerity that he has really graduated from the virtual account category before leaving the account for a real one.

What is your honest review of the Demo account?
If you guide to basic Demo trading or Demo account, as it is in the quote below.
Quote
(1) Demo Account: demonstration or show of how to do or work something.

Don't ever think that you can use Demo trading/Demo accounts in public, meaning: theory with practical understanding and things that are very much different when trading, especially in the crypto market, gambling etc.

Demo account if you keep it as your reference in the future maybe it makes sense, but if you want genuine results like Demo trading you are dead wrong, all the crypto you trade in the crypto market can be messed up or lost.

To be honest, for me the science of crypto trading is very important, rather than being guided by the Demo, the Demo is not the main foundation that you can learn, the risk is the other way around.

What is your honest review of the Demo Account?
A demo account is just a test account provided by the platform, which aims to practice and to find out all the features on a platform. Everyone will probably agree with this opinion, but what is a black spot is, in my opinion, the demo account aims to attract users who have logged in and so they can believe, that it is easier to make profits on this platform.
Quote
Demo trading simply helps the newbie get acquainted with the trading platform, and it should only be for a few weeks. Compared to  live trading, demo trading lacks the ability to mental and emotional resilience. For me, the real trading education starts where demo trading ends. What do you think?
It is true that a demo account is used for an introduction to a trading platform, and is also useful for practicing trading skills a little. But if I play the demo for a long time, it's not the right thing to do. Because even though a demo account is used or played continuously, it is certain that mental abilities will not be honed properly. Because all of that is caused by the absence of fear or anxiety, when using it. So practicing for a long time on a demo account is indeed not the right thing to do, because it wastes time and the results are also skills that are not very well developed.

Therefore, it's better to use a real account directly, and don't use a demo account too much. Because by using a real account, you will definitely get more lessons and experience. Even though fear or anxiety is always there, don't worry, all these feelings are the best trainers, to make a great trader. And in essence, don't be too afraid to lose in trading, because if the fear is too great, it will be difficult to develop skills.

A demo is a demo, easier to understand that it's like an unreal account.

It's a good feature to practice strategies, I don't understand if someone does try a demo account and hoping that he can cash out the profit he gets from there.

Well, nothing is free on this world and out of it you get nothing.

For a newbie who has complete zero knowledge about trading, I think it would be wise to start trading with a demo account to test the waters and to get some insights about trading before actually diving into it. Before doing a demo trading, it would be assumed that the newbie must have studied some materials or watched some professional trading videos. So the demo trading is like a practical experience to apply some of those things he has learned. This would help to build the newbie's confidence, broaden his knowledge, and save him from making unnecessary errors and lost of funds.

This is a great solution for a training period which will greatly benefit a newbie rather than having to jump right in with real money and the various high risks he will likely face and then incur a lot to lose. Join several educational groups or look for a mentor to at least get basic knowledge about what points they have to prepare before finally jumping into real trading. Honestly this is very useful for me personally and maybe for most people. Conversely, sometimes I often find statements from beginners that they always get profits when trading on a demo account, but when they try on a real account they are always dominated by losses. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with the things they have learned before, this is natural in my opinion because they don't have a strong mentality yet, and when they jump into a real account, they will automatically be a little disturbed from a psychological point of view because they are afraid to make a decision .

The Demo account is necessary before you open a real acccount in trading because in this way you will experience on how the market works, you will get the knowledge on how to buy and sell, how the market moves in days, weeks or months and also the volatility of the market. But I do not advise the new traders to spend a lot of time in demo account because like the OP said that there is really a big difference especially in executing of the trading plans because in demo account there is no money involved while in real account your money is at risks and these where the trading psychology will come into play.

I think 3 montsh is enough for training in demo account because that time you already have the basics and foundation that you can use in trading in order to become a profitable trader but expect that it will be a ahrd way because for sure you will exprience a lot of adjustment and these where you will find out that there is a really big differences between trading in demo account and trading using your real money. Expect that you will get new experience on your first loss and first win.

Demo account would really be that good when it comes to familiarity of the indicators and trying out to back test certain strategies on which you would really be able to make analysis and make out strategies which you

could really be able to apply on the time that you would really be making this live trade. Some doesnt really tend to go with demo and directly make some live trading and using their own money and at the same time
they would really be able to learn up things on their own along the way.Its not bad to make out some steps because even myself did really start on having that demo account when it comes to discovering something
then you could be able to learnt it up along the way.
It does really depend on you though because not all would really be that having that kind of thinking when it comes learning things which some might really be that going with the basics and some would really
be directly going in rush.

demo account is good if the data is accurate, you could get a glimpse of how your trading career might turns out.
also you can experience real trading from real data. but regardless though its gonna be a little different if you are using real money because emotion will be involved.
so basically you can use demo account for just seeing the circumstance and then decide on your own whether you really want to have a career in this fields.
after that, though you still need to try out real trading little by little to get a grasp of what controlling emotion is like.

I think that Demo Accounts are a great way to try out new trading strategies and any beginner should use it before starting to trade with real money. It's true that there are no consequences for trading with demo accounts, but that is also a good thing, any big loss is not a real loss and we can still learn from our mistakes. We shouldn't feel bad about any profit we make that it's not real, rather be happy that our strategies are working. When it comes to demo accounts it's up to us to make it as realistic as possible. For example we can set a personal goal that we need to reach 25% profit before we start trading with real money. Or we could make a challenge with friends and see who runs the best portfolio over a month. There are a lot of possibilities with demo accounts, it's up to us to use them.

Demo trading is like trying the platform itself, familiarizing about it though you can do the actual trading but there’s no risk on that and your emotion might not be present by that time but still using a demo trading at first is a big help.

I don't think demo trading has actually helped anybody learn to trade.
A couple of years back I tried forex trading with a demo account and it felt like I was learning because I was making profits, but when I started trading live, I lost all my money. I think that's part of the reason that discouraged me from foreign exchange.
What I find most annoying about demo trading is how easy it is to trade and make a profit. All this is to make sure you trade on that platform.

Normal to experience that situation since not all the time that what trades you do using those demo accounts will also happen when you are at real time trading using your own money. Remember that market is unpredictable so maybe that's the reason why you lose your money since you didn't expect some situation and you got caught up with it. But for me demo accounts are so useful because for this we can warm up or try anything that we can learn from before we use our money to trade since its really waste of money if we don't use this and we want to try some strategy so demo is there to save us up to know more about on trading.

Practice yourself on using up technicals and on the time that you do see that you could be able to apply those things efficiently then this is the time that you would really be considering on going to real trading on which

making up use of your real balance would really be giving out that different vibe or impression because on the time that you do set your foot into live trading then the entire experience would really be entirely different

if we do speak about in comparison with demo account. You would be able to notice that you would really be that something emotional on the time that you would really be making use of real funds.
This isnt something that you do able to practice when you do engage with demo and this is the only thing thay you would be missing out on learning this stuff when you do start up with demo
but when it comes to knowing those indicators or tools then it would really be that relevant on doing so.

the sense of responsibility that was lacking on the demo account carried over to the real one. in this case a psychological feeling that is not obtained on a demo account because you feel that if you lose it is not real money. therefore we must be able to distinguish between the functions of a demo account, indeed for strategy practice, but not for trading psychology practice, which we will only get on a real account. because of that many people complain as if they are professionals on a demo account, but are always wrong on a real account

Guys I must say the truth practicing with Demo is very far from the real account. Demo is just to give you the awareness that this is a trading platform. I learned with Demo for about 4 weeks with different amount to know the real amount which I will be using when o finally use the real account. To my surprise when I finally registered with the real account, and spent $400 on the real account and I traded for the market to go up, hey!!! That is the time the market speedily come down. And I loss all. Again I deposited $120 to recover my lost and this time I place the market on downward, hey! Market speedily go up and I lost everything. So I left trading. These are stories that I heard from other people and I had experienced it.

It would really be a total different battlefield if you do tend to compare out demo into live on which it would really be that true that demo is really that good when it comes to familiarization on trading platforms on which it would really be just that normal that it would really be that hard but it doesnt mean that its useless because demo could give out that idea which you would really be needing to know and the rest
would really be able to acquire on live trading on which you would really be making use real money and it would really be a different story.

On the demo then you wouldnt be able to learn up on risk management because you arent making use of real money on which means, emotions isnt something that you would really be able to
to mold up since you arent making use of real money.

It's true that the demo account is only for strategy practice and feature introduction,
even for strategy practice i don't think it fully work because it will be very different when trading for real,
Most importantly don't think that you can fully master trading after trading on a demo account.

All kinds of work can be done in a permanent account so why we use demo account. We can use Permanent Account to learn something or to apply it practically. In the first case we will take practical idea from permanent account then when our practical idea is taken then we will try to become a professional traders with that permanent account then what is the need of demo account in this case. Those who use a demo account are later found to be using a permanent account because the things that can be done with a permanent account are not possible with a demo account. So it is better to do the same thing once instead of doing it again and again. I think it is better to use a permanent account instead of using a demo account.
