Title: This user is a suspected spammer!
Post by: hZti on April 01, 2023, 04:51:27 PM
I have seen more and more people with that a red tag on their post saying „This user is a suspected spammer!“. However I can not find any negative trust or anything like this on their profile. Is this a new feature of the forum and how do people end up with that kind of tag?

Edit: Actually it seems that also I have this tag  :D (Which is funny since I have done about 1.3K posts in 10 years on this forum which does not seem a lot)

I'm sure this is one of the April fool's jokes by Theymos. There are users reputable enough that I have seen as well and it can't be right.

The ones I have seen so far posted almost a novel related to a topic. It must be an April fool's joke. It's been a tradition already even the most serious vlogger I know has been posting weirdly stuff as well.

Before posting as well you can see. In order to prevent low-effort posts, we now require you to complete the following CAPTCHA before clicking "post"

Check the link on the news channel of the forum. Simply go here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5447077.0 to read the complete details of this special event of the forum.

As you can see, I don’t have that spammer tag after completing the coins required for captcha. Many user failed to solved the captcha through playing the game that result to your question.

Thanks for the answer! I saw this „game“ and thought it would be some kind of advertisement for a stupid mobile game or something like that  ;D

It’s not about the posts or number of years… this is AI powered systems running on top of GPT-44… and it knows who’s spammer and who’s not. This is invented by theymos.

LOL, I think this is a bit difficult for anyone to solve especially if they have to collect a lot of coins. But on the umpteenth try, finally this chapcha was resolved too. So I hope I'm not a spammer on this thread, Lol

While there are dozens of users just ignoring it, I think it's just a game - seriously.

I'm not a suspected scammer!  Or a spammer!

Damn you, Theymos!

OP, you're a Hero member.  How did you get fooled by the April Fool's Day shenanigans?

This piqued my curiosity, so I decided to search a bit and found that the user had not attended April Fools before even though the account was created in 2013.

The reason for me to not use my account was a hacking attempt a few years ago and I was actually not willing to go through the complicated steps of getting the account back. For that reason the account was simply locked for the last years and nobody had access to it. Now that I had the time and will to get the account back.

This member was active until December 30, 2016 and then didn't post until 4/5/2022 so he must have seen my April fool before since this event started in 2015.

In 2016: @hZti  does not have posts in April.
In 2015: @hZti  contains no posts in the month of April.
In 2022: @hZti  first post was on 4/5, or 3 days after the April fool.

So, despite all these years, it is his first time. ;D ;D

I don't know exactly how serious you are asking this, but how can you forget that it's April Fools?
Everyone will see it expires in a day, and I think by the time you wake up it's all gone. It's only about few hours away from now, and it's pretty bad if you never know what theymos do on April 1st.

The April fools joke has tricked some users with the tag (This user is a suspected spammer!). Very unsightly with the tag, the bright red color is very eyesore. April fools this time more surprising than ever, we have to solve CAPTCHA to remove spammer tag. The game is a bit challenging, but it's hard to finish if you collect too many coins. Today is back to normal as usual, the Spammer tag is gone, we can post again as usual without having to worry about spammer tags.

It should have been "obviously a spammer" suspected is used when there is a doubt.😀

If it's tagged as an obvious spammer, any post regardless it's quality will get deleted if they're not completing the captcha :P

I'm just thinking what if we can't post before completing the captcha, I think most of people will not post in mega thread since it's require many coins to complete. Yep, they will not post in mega thread, but they will create a new thread as the solution lol.

There's always a loophole in any system...

Do you mean to say people are spamming here for the last many years and now AI has detected them  :o

I'm not a spammer!

Anyone with gaming skills is not a spammer while anyone with writing skills becomes a spammer.
This AI needs to be reprogrammed and that's why its taken down now  8)

I'm okay with reporting it :)

This, on the other hand, really hurts :( :( I don't want to be associated with the money-grabbing NFT con :( :(

:P

Haha very nice in depth analytics. Actually in my country April Fools is not that big of a deal as it seems it is internationally (even if still everyone fell for the Royse Campaign :P )
And yes I never saw the April fools days here in the forum before or at least I can’t remeber them.

PS: Obviously I did not report anyone here for spam :D

This method was perfect for observing April Fools.  Almost all the members were in panic. But I myself did not understand at first I was scared then after many hundreds of attempts I was able to fill the game captcha once. From then on I realized it was April Fools. Sharing the joy of April Fools is one of the signs.

I forgot it was April fool's day I tried for over ten minutes to accumulate as many coins as possible but I have no success so I just hit the post and I got that suspected spammer notification above my post, it took me a few minutes to realize that it was an April fool's day joke probably the best joke Bitcointalk has come out  :D.
I don't know if they can beat this one next year, but that's something to look forward to.

When I saw the red tag in the midnight of April first, I was also motivated (move) to create a thread like this but I hold my peace when I quickly went into research and saw that many people were having the red tag on their posts. And I also saw the news on the home page and clicked on it and saw everything there so I became more confidential and fun along the April Fool. It was really a scary horror moment f not other users who quickly recognized the prank.

And the flappy bird flied faster that you cannot even take a coin easily. The game was technical, as the bird was flying faster, you the player have to calm down because if you want play fast like the bird, you would be failing every time, so you have to play and jump the bird with careful. At first it was two coins and the more I tried the coins increased, and finally I got it when it was 5 coins. After that first attempt, all the rest ones were more 19+ coins and because of the speedometer of the flappy Bird I could not play again so I stopped playing the game and post normal.

That means you really fell into the trap Theymos devised for April Fools jokes. :D
It is very challenging and difficult to complete the game to collect the required coins, some users are afraid of the words "This user is a suspected spammer!", They choose not to post before completing the Captcha to avoid the red tag.
There are always different surprises at April Fools, the next one will be even more challenging than now. Hopefully.

If a user is suspected a spammer doesn't mean he's a spammer, but that's why it's called a suspect, we are only perceiving indications to wether he's a spammer or not, not until an established evidence come up to ascertain this fact one can not call his fellow user a spammer because it will end up as an abuse on his personality if he happens not to be a spammer after being called a spammer, whereas not every spammer got tagged, spamming is not scam, but it pissed one off.

On April 1st, a new rule was made in the forum where before posting there is a captcha like a national game to be filled and then posted. In that game each member is asked to collect certain coins. If certain coins could be collected and posted then such spammer tag would not be given. But collecting the coins was very difficult for everyone. And all failed to fill captcha despite many attempts. So after multiple attempts, when they failed, they were forced to post without filling the captcha, which resulted in the post that they had not filled the captcha being tagged as a spammer.
Which was really a matter of concern for all users. But at that moment no one might have thought that such captcha filling before posting is done purely to fool people.

Theymos's Presented in such a way that people forgot that today is an April date. And all are fools. In other words, that captcha was a complete April fool. In other words, one day in April we all became fools.

Users who have always been active on forums all know how Captchas work, neatly arranged by Theymos. Admittedly, it's not easy to collect a number of coins, it takes patience to complete it.
It is almost a tradition at this forum that every April 1st there is always a surprise from Theymos, this time the theme is extraordinary. Captchas get harder on more active topics, you'll have to collect a lot of coins to solve them.
I actually consider this a challenging joke, at certain times the urge arises in the heart to finish it if the number of coins collected is small. If there are a lot of them, most users choose to close their eyes and immediately press the Post button.
