Title: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose out of greed.
Post by: Dzwaafu11 on April 10, 2023, 05:44:38 PM
I've noticed that a lot of people are entering the cryptocurrency sector to invest in one or two projects because they've heard that bull run is on away coming and that have  many  people have plans to invest a sizable sum of money in some way to ensure they don't miss the opportunities.

I want to use this opportunity to warn newbies not to be deceived by the idea of becoming wealthy quickly by investing a sizable sum of money that they cannot afford to lose in the cryptocurrency industry. They should be aware that no any crypto advisor will advise anyone to invest their entire life savings in any project that it will do 10x, since nobody can predict the future of crypto industry, and with that  anyone who claim so, is a lier.

In fact, I would advise newbies to stay away from altcoins and only invest in Bitcoin in order to be on the safe side of the game, as there will be many shitcoins that will not recover after this bear market.

As a beginner, don't be overly eager to invest in any project without conducting your own thorough research.

I wonder why a newbie would even want to invest in altcoins. Crypto newbies may not even be aware of how to look at a project white paper and identify if there are some tricky things with it. Newbies don't know fully well how to check the Twitter, Telegram, LinkedIn, Discord, and other social platforms of a project to decide if it's a project to risk their funds for. So newbies wasting their time on altcoins may result in the fact that they are just burrying their funds in a snowy environment that cannot melt when warmth comes. It is wise if newbies clearly stay away from altcoins. Even some experienced crypto enthusiasts sometimes get disappointed along the way when they try to take advantage of some altcoin pump and dump price manipulation.

And one who is looking for an asset to invest in should stick to bitcoin only

In order to truly invest safely in crypto and relax, one should purchase bitcoin. Altcoin investment these days is no longer safe and secure. A popular altcoin may be scammed or compromised by hackers. Just yesterday, hackers broke into Sushi Swap, stealing around $3 million.
Sushi Swap hack info (https://cointelegraph.com/news/community-on-sushiswap-exploit-the-3-3-hack-is-weird/amp)
I've been feeling horrible ever since I heard the news because no one can predict which other altcoins may be compromised by hackers tomorrow. It's a pity that crypto has now become a place, hackers can hack into and siphon people's money

This rule also applies to all investments, not just cryptocurrency. Accordingly, you can lose your money by investing it in a real business, but the chance of losing it is much higher if you invest in cryptocurrency. So it is necessary to take care of your money, as it is much more difficult to earn it than to lose it.

So it's really more sophisticated now for newbies to note the possible ways to avoid a scam project if they see one. I remember back when I was still studying the crypto space, my mentor would say that if I wanted to know if a project was real, I should search for their Twitter page and look through it to see how active their page is. I should also take note of how many followers they have and how many likes and retweets they have too. He told me to go on Telegram and search for the project's Telegram group or channel and see the level of activity going on there and how their group admins are responding to users that are asking questions there.

I did as he was instructing me, and I was able to detect a few things. If a project is phishing, there are some questions you might ask in their telegram group, and they will automatically delete you from the group and also delete your question. The same thing applies to their tweets on Twitter and other of their social channels.

You said it all @Zaguru12, some celebrities and influencers are even the ones helping these scam projects gain popularity on social media. I must say that I have fallen victim to altcoins in the past, and that's because I was a newbie and was not able to figure out all these things by myself until I became too exposed and also learned from the experience I got. For those reasons, I would not advise newbies to go into altcoins, but if they feel to do so, I had just say, "trade at your own risk, you might get lucky."

It’s those high profit promises that gets the crowd interested in crypto, altcoins projects spend lots of money on promotion, they pay your favorite celebrity to endorse their project. I think people buy altcoins because they think they already missed their window of opportunity for buying bitcoins, so they buy altcoins instead believing that they are buying at the bottom and they believe the altcoin will be as big as bitcoin in a few years. I doubt these set of newbies know what a whitepaper is, or even do their research to know if the project is legitimate.

Hmmm, I think that's a great move if people are thinking like that because if they already know where they need to enter then surely they have some experience and they don't want to miss the journey. Yes, there are some risks involved but the end result is beautiful just needs a little patience and consistency.

They should be aware that no any crypto advisor will advise anyone to invest their entire life savings in any project that it will do 10x, since nobody can predict the future of crypto industry, and with that  anyone who claim so, is a lier.

That sounds a piece of good advice on the basis of entire savings investment but I have point here if someone wants to invest some of his money and he is dreaming to invest and make 10X of it on somebodies advice or motivation whether he is a good analyst or not I think as the experience of the past trend we can say yes you should invest but need a little patience as mentioned above you won't regret. Because need to take risks and invest some part of your savings I think it's worth to be risks because just saving is not going to help out you in the future.

As a beginner, don't be overly eager to invest in any project without conducting your own thorough research.

Beginners can't do their own research, they don't have the knowledge and experience to do so. In fact most people should just stay away from trading and altcoins, it's a risk that is not worth it. Owning Bitcoin and holding it for long term is already a good investment. Alts are just a trap for greedy people.

The point here is don't invest the money that you aren't supposed to be investing because it has other purpose. Don't risk something that you might wanna regret later because of your greed. If someone wants to invest they should learn first what they are investing because it's risky or dangerous to blindly trust your instincts if you believe you will get the profit just by riding with the hype.

Hype market is dangerous since it's a way of the whales to gather small fishes then collect money and suddenly dump the market although it's a clear sign of manipulation but what I'm just saying is learn first how the market works.

Fear of missing out and greed drives them to lose their money. They think that these overhyped projects and get rich quick schemes will make them more money overnight but they end up losing their money.

Absolutely, scammers always promise unrealistic profit, if you are greedy and put your money into their account they will scam you right away. If you can stop your greed you can save yourself from getting scammed.

The best thing that newbies can do is to invest only what they can afford to lose. The market is too ruthless with everyone and mostly with them. They'll never notice that they're already out of money if they chosen a wrong crypto to invest and that's why they need to be picky and also DYOR before committing to a project. Investing to bitcoin only is one of the best choices but we can't stop people from choosing other projects that they think will make them profitable. It's not about to become rich within the bull run but about taking advantage of the situation because it only comes every after 4 years or so.

This thread brings back the memory of a thread I tried to several days ago about a guy who collected loans and even used his mother's pension money to invest in cryptocurrency(probably some hyped coin/token) and then lost everything and he was so devastated that he attempted to commit suicide.
In the example provided, the guy is a techy guy and I'm sure he knows the simple rule of investing only want you can afford to lose but the fact of getting more money blinded him and he did the opposite of the rule, newbies should never, I mean invest what the k ow that they can't lose no matter what was promised to them they should at least try to resist that temptation of FOMO.

Many beginners fall into crypto because of the promise of high returns, especially in newly launched altcoins.  Apart from that, promotions carried out by altcoin projects are also a factor that attracts people.  Basically, they must know that investment decisions should not be based solely on promises of high profits or promotions.  As an investor, it is important to conduct careful research and objective analysis of an altcoin project before making an investment.

Another mistake is sometimes they don't care about the whitepaper, even though it is a document that explains the technical details about a crypto project.  Though it is very important for investors to read the whitepaper and understand how the project functions before making an investment.

I also agree with you (OP) in saying that choosing to only own Bitcoin and keep it for the long term is a good choice.  Because most altcoins are traps for greedy people even though there are also Altcoins that have great profit potential, but also require good research and understanding before making an investment.

Therefore it is very important for beginners to understand that investment decisions must be based on careful research and objective analysis, not just a greedy desire to make quick profits.

Especially on Bullrun a lot of newbies would literally buy tokens out of nowhere thinking that they could easily earn a big amount of profit on that token since its Bull run they probably earn a profit, there are also some lucky people who get rich on that method but it does mean it's gonna happened to everyone as well, after that, in the long run, they lose a lot on their investment when they still holding their token so always take profit. It's a common mistake because we all sometimes become greedy.

But yes I would always invest especially in Bitcoin, a big percentage of your portfolio should always be Bitcoin. Not necessarily only bitcoin you could gamble a little bit on other altcoins in the market may be on the top altcoins that have a lot of potentials, I mean yes its altcoin but its high-risk high reward and it doesn't really matter since you only invest what you afford to lose at that token.

Cryptocurrency is not about investing in other coins just to make money during a bull run. Rather than investing in other altcoins, it is preferable to invest in bitcoin to avoid losing what you are not capable of losing. The act of entering cryptocurrency to invest in any project because they've heard about the bull run is part of greedy, and greedy don't tell people what they're doing until they're done with it.
The best thing for any beginner is to avoid being persuaded by anyone else to invest in any cryptocurrencies simply because of the bull run. If you lose your money, the person won't bear the pain with you, so I advise you to research the coins you choose to invest in.

Greed has kept many people down because some people wants even get rich over night but to invest is not a bad thing though, only that before you invest in any business you should a prime knowledge of the industry you want to invest. For instance: you can't listen to a marketer telling to invest on a product you never have ideas of before, you may end up losing your money for his or her own self interest. As for newbies no point to invest because you're new what you need is the knowledge of how bitcoin or altcoins works! If you're much convinced on a long run, you can take the risk but I always we should use spare money for investment.

As far as i know now is not the right time to invest because we don't know if actually bitcoin getting to $30k would be a trap for the prey, and who are the prey? They are those people that jumps into market when the atmosphere of the entire cryptocurrency seems to change and beginning to make a new wave of bull run, don't be surprised after bitcoin gets to 30k there would be an every possibility that it may gets back to 25k or 20k before getting to 35k thereabout, who knows?
So any  newbie venture into cryptocurrency should be extremely cautious of the market otherwise when it turns back there will be lots of cry over the investors who always invest when the atmosphere changes.

Great one, OP. Now is the time for crypto influencers and trading signal professionals to claim to be experts in crypto trading by giving a lot of advice to newbies with little or no experience in cryptocurrency to invest in some project they don't know about, promising a huge profit.

The risk in cryptocurrency is very high, which is why investing your entire life savings or taking out a loan to invest in cryptocurrency is a bad idea because no one knows how the market will move.

No coin is more reliable than Bitcoin, and as a beginner in cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is the best option to start with to reduce the risk of losing your capital quickly.

Even though it's uncertain when the next bull run will occur, everyone is looking forward to it. It's an opportunity for everyone, so I won't tell anyone not even my enemy to miss it. We should be well-prepared and invest as much as we can, but we also need to use caution If we need to invest in alternative coins and not just invest in any project without conducting adequate research. I currently focus all of my energy on investing in bitcoin; I haven't thought about holding alternative coins yet, but I might do so soon.
Some people actually got into cryptocurrency because they had heard about the upcoming bull run and had been advised to hold as many coins as they could. As a result, they invested without doing any study or gathering expertise, which is foolish and is likely to cost them money or lead them to invest in projects with no future.

Most newcomers mistakenly assume that the cryptocurrency industry is a place where they can get rich quick and make fast money, but I no longer hold this against them rather, I think it's because they are ignorant and have been misled by stories of others who have made money from cryptocurrency. I think they'll be reminded of it by reading this post and won't be motivated to invest without having the knowledge. If they ever want to survive in the crypto sector, knowledge will be their greatest asset.

Anyone who was introduced to cryptocurrency and told to invest in altcoins has just made a mistake that they will regret for the rest of their lives. Only bitcoin has the greatest chance of surviving market volatility. We've read and seen many people testify about how they sold their properties and invested the money in bitcoin, making a large profit. They may have invested what they can afford to lose while remaining financially stable.

If you come into the market as a newbie and invest everything you have, you may end up losing it all due to FOMO. Investing all you have in bitcoin could save you but that is not guaranteed if you’re in for a short time trade, a long time trade will be the best when you buy bitcoin the first time after making the mistake of investing all your savings. As a newbie in cryptocurrency, never invest all you got into crypto.

The part I emboldened in your comments is absolutely misleading and not necessary. Although refute the statement with your last line but it's unfortunate we live in an era where people find it hard to read. It is possible some people might not read to the end and will draw conclusion from the little they read up there since it suit their needs.

It's not even ideal to rush into crypto or whatsoever investment. Take your time and learn some learn-able about whatever you want to venture into in order to know if you can be able to withstand its nature. Crypto is not for the weak mind and as such one must prepare self for market up and down.

There are some risk that you will take that will benefit you life is all about Rick's how can you make it when you don't want to take the risk. Life is all about Rick's do you know how many people that have taken weeks to get what they want
One thing we also need to know is the process by which the newbies were introduced to the system. The first person that tells them about cryptocurrency and investment wins there heart and it is possible that the person may be an altcoin fan because they are many these days. If that be the case, it will be very difficult to reconvince the newbie to believe only Bitcoin.
However, altcoin investment isn't bad because it has made many millionaires in the cryptocurrency market. But where it becomes bad is when the newbies doesn't understand the risk behind it. But for he that understands the risk and abide by it, there's nothing wrong with altcoin investment.

Funny enough The social media this days is one of the last places to go and do research on new cryptocurrency projects. Infact it was through social media promotions or hypes by celebrities that newbies have the narrative of getting rich quick through cryptocurrency. Some of these Alticoins have a very well established and even verified account to promote these projects that end up dumping.

I don’t warn People not to invest in all these alts because some of them turn out to have a great pump during the bull run I will always warn people that these alts are more less gamble to accumulate and shouldn’t be placed in same category as bitcoin. And one who is looking for an asset to invest in should stick to bitcoin only
Well, though I would also suggest inexperienced people to stay away from most of the altcoins as investing in them isn't less than gambling as you said, but sometimes these gambles are worth taking but only with very small amounts since they mostly provide a hell of a lot of tokens for only a small worth of your capital and it sometimes can hit the jackpot.

I say that because we have seen in the past where some altcoins had grown hundred folds just because of the hype from the communities and maybe also because of the buying pressure put by some unknown whales which were also results of the hype. Moral of the story is, they can pay off sometimes so they might be worth buying only with the smallest possible amounts.

This advice is quite common and it's what most people advise to others. There are things that make people become greedy because of FOMO. When they see other people who share their experiences when they earn good profit from holding crypto for a certain time. Since there are people who can manipulate the price then they are most likely get fooled by it like what elon musk did with twitter and as you can see, many people are now asking if it's worth to own the coin that elon musk supported.

DYOR before you invest, that way you will learn which coins have potentials for investment and which coins are seen weak and mostly not profitable. To make it safe, invest only in bitcoin. And when you invest, invest at your own risk. That means invest only what you can afford to lose, otherwise if you lose, you will suffer its consequences. And never invest with greed, that is a useless thing to consider in the first place.

Actually it's good advice to invest what you can afford to lose but some people does not take such advice, while some people invest in a large form is because of greediness, so they know that the higher the value of what you invest the higher the profits,  so that's while many people choose to invest higher and not what they can afford to lose, its b
causes depression when they finally lose, so for investment, I can advice to venture into investment with your spare money.

I agree with your opinion, because it's true, investing in crypto is very full of risks, so everything must be considered carefully, in essence beginners have to learn a lot first, before starting to invest in crypto or bitcoin. and never invest in bitcoin with the intention of trial and error, or speculation. because crypto (especially) even though many say speculative assets, but if it is accompanied by mature research and knowledge, all of that can be minimized.

Investing in Altcoins is very risky and once Newbie fall in to a trap then for sure they will regret it in the end, I am not saying that all altcoin are scam but What I said is that nowadays out of 10 only 1-2 are legit and the rest of that are scam in order to make an easy money. So as a newbie we we need to be careful and don't let our greediness control our selves we need to focus and make a smart move before we invest.

I used to be a big fan of altcoins until I got my portfolio busted when so many of these altcoins tun to shitcoins, many of us here are looking for the next big thing and we want not to be a whale but early birds of the coin that many of us think will be the next big thing like Ethereum, Binance and all the other coins on top when they are started out.
But the fact still remains that it's Bitcoin that still rules the market and it should be the coin that you have a large percentage in your portfolio.
Stop chasing quicksilver you will only risk losing your investment.

This is always sounding as usual, but not all newbies follow this. Many of them are only in this investment because of high expectations about getting much money from the investment, without considering the risks or even about getting understood about crypto investment. Some of them also commonly consider that crypt investment is something that is easy to do. Whereas they are wrong enough, the crypto business is something that is risky and difficult to do. Moreover, if we are not doing any research and we are investing on it, this will give us very high risks and lose. But many beginners don't really pay attention to this. They sometimes put their money in more than they can afford and they are also sometimes deceived by scammers about fake investment to do.

Life is a stage meant to be followed gradually so as to crypto currency it is something you have to look at your standards before putting in your best efforts it is advisable to take risk but not the one you cannot bear the shock of you losing
Always understand that there is a tendency of you winning or losing

I wonder why a newbie would even want to invest in altcoins. Crypto newbies may not even be aware of how to look at a project white paper and identify if there are some tricky things with it. Newbies don't know fully well how to check the Twitter, Telegram, LinkedIn, Discord, and other social platforms of a project to decide if it's a project to risk their funds for.

And one who is looking for an asset to invest in should stick to bitcoin only
The truth is we can’t stop people from investing their money into altcoins because the social media is telling them the opposite thing. And we can’t be certain too if they won’t really make it big with altcoins in the future since everything in the market is uncertain. Even bitcoin that is quite profitable these days might stop from rising in the future, no one really knows. But I believe if we can convince them to do DYOR first before investing, I guess that will help them to avoid losses in the future by not investing into too good to be true altcoins.

Well, what I have learned from this thread and based on what Zaguru12 said, I will not warn anyone not to invest in altcoins, but it's good to always let them know it's very risky to do so because there are lots of shady projects that just want to scam investors, and if they wish to invest, let them know they are doing so at their own risk, and like you said, it's uncertain that they may or may not make profit in the pump of the coin they have purchased. And perhaps if they do not buy a coin they were supposed to buy because someone advised them not to, and by chance the coin gets pumped, they will blame the person who advised them not to buy the coin when they wanted to.

My only concern with newbies investing altcoins on their first start is that if the project fails, it might give them a misconception about crypto entirely, and they may pass on such misinformation to their friends, which is not good for Bitcoin to receive a bad name for crimes committed by other shitcoins.

but the irony is that most beginners invest more in altcoins. well they are tempted by quick profits and such. but in the end they realized that investing in bitcoin is less risky than in altcoins. and I think a lot of the senior members here had their first crypto experience from altcoins. but yeah it was a risky step they took. and as long as you only use money that you are ready to lose, it's not a problem. but the problem is that there are indeed many beginners who enter into direct investment on a large scale because they are chasing greed to get rich quickly.

And yes, this kind of advice is really needed so that beginners are more careful and not easily tempted by the lure of 10x 100x profits and the like. unless he has done a thorough analysis and also only uses money that he is really prepared to lose or lose. but in the end it is better to invest long term in bitcoin. and invest slowly and slowly. at least that's what i do for the long term. but yeah I admit that I also save some altcoins like Ethereum etc.

That’s the reason why we should be more responsible for the security of our own account. Scamming has been rampant but we can avoid it as much as possible if we take precautionary measures on how to protect our account, and by not chosing altcoins for our investment, it will save us from these greedy scammers. And for us to be more safe, invest only what you can afford to lose, and stick to bitcoin and stay away from unestablished altcoins.

However, altcoin investment isn't bad because it has made many millionaires in the cryptocurrency market. But where it becomes bad is when the newbies doesn't understand the risk behind it. But for he that understands the risk and abide by it, there's nothing wrong with altcoin investment.

Indeed, investing in altcoins is not all bad. I am also investing in them and believe that most people also invest in altcoins because nobody doesn't want a lot of money. But as a newbie, inexperienced, you should stay away from altcoins and only invest in them when you are knowledgeable and aware of the risks that it brings. We can't deny that altcoins are giving better returns than bitcoin these days, but to find altcoins that do, not everyone can. Investing in altcoins is interesting, but it's not for everyone.

We all have our differences and experiences, some people started their crypto investment with Bitcoin and some with altcoins, and the result will never be the same, in the crypto space, timing is everything, some buy Bitcoin and sell too soon, some buy and hold but failed to take profit when Bitcoin reached a new all-time high.

It's been several years now that I have been into crypto investment and I have made a lot of money from Bitcoin and much more from altcoins, I could easily say that I got lucky but that's not entirely true because I spent most of my time learning about crypto projects and what makes them better than the rest.

I choose some good altcoins and also some very bad ones, but this result reshaped me and I am getting more experience with crypto projects, once beaten am twice shy right? I can't open my eye and make the same mistakes over again, this time, I am much better than who I used to be.

So OP, it's not all altcoins are bad for investment, and I started with both altcoins and Bitcoin, it's less fun for me if I can't figure out why one is better than the rest.

First I did crypto trading to accumulate more Bitcoin. I use BTC altcoin pairs to do that. I think I succeeded, I was able to earn more BTC and help me in financial matters.
There are standards of bad altcoin categories that should be equated. So if we lead to profits, then we can use bad category altcoins to make profits. But there is a note that there may have to be noted, don't hold back for long it is better to enter the profit and leave. We only take advantage of the moment, not the quality of the coin or token.

Bitcoin is the only crypto coin who has survived more than a decade and obviously, that’s what made it more reputable and reliable compared to majority of altcoins that are eventually losing their value after a year or two of existence. So if you want to take the risk when investing, just stick to bitcoin and never be tempted to trust altcoins especially with their too good to be true promised goals. Altcoins may be profitable at first but it’s only bitcoin who will give you consistent profits throughout the years.

Diversification is a key element when it comes to investing in any market - crypto or stock market alike.  Chances are the hype surrounding an IPO is just smoke and mirrors to entice unsuspecting punters to part with their hard earned fiat.  Wait a while until the buzz has subsided and only invest a small amount at a time.  $25, $50 or no more than $100 at a time.

Instant exchanges such as the Pancakes are an ideal method to see what bargains are on offer and as they are instant you know the funds will land in your wallet not an exchange that may sting you with high withdrawal fees.

There is difference between people who first understand the market and what will be benefits of investing in it and those who see it as rising market to make some quick profits because they are only seeing it when the prices surge or say under someone else's influence without even realising what are its consequences. So they invest out of greed to earn profits so whatever they are investing they can't afford to loose it and when they see opposite happening like dips they try to cash out ending up in loss.

I have also seen people saying like taking loans for investment purposes which is exactly the opposite or this statement because you are at full risk. The second part of investment is you should invest in a reliable and potential coin in this market which provides some sort of guarantee return like bitcoin over long term holding not some shitcoins having pump dump scheme.

Cryptocurrency investment is like a double-edged sword, besides being able to provide large profits, price fluctuations can also pose risks for investors. It is necessary to understand some of the risks that might approach investors, greed can become a fireball for investing if you are not careful.

Newbies who are new to Cryptocurrency must choose investment instruments that have strong fundamentals, Bitcoin is highly recommended to maintain the value of their assets. Besides Bitcoin, there are several high-end Altcoin that can make them calm. It should be emphasized to newbies who want to invest in Cryptocurrency, always use cold money, if there is a risk of loss, it will not cause depression and the burden of returning the loan.

I don't like this saying "invest what you can afford to lose" because it's being abused and carelessly thrown around. Invest what you can forget about for years and what you won't miss.

I have some money saved up and I wouldn't say that I can at this point lose even 1k USD, allthough my bitcoin investment is 100 times bigger.

Bitcoin is going to be worth more than it is now one day. It's possible you'll have to wait 2 years for it to happen and endure countless crashes but eventually you will profit from holding it just as you will profit from holding gold or land. It's not a casino where you can lose money in an instant.

Any newbie that is thinking that the bull run is around the corner and want to invest all his life savings is just practicing how to remain poor for only God knows how long.
We are in 21st century and before you invest any single amount in any digital currency, you should do a drastic research about the investment. Every now and then we keep hearing that bitcoin investment is a very long term investment and always warned never to invest all you have or even take a loan for it because of the high risk involved.
Investment altcoin as a newbie is so risky talk more of investing what you cant afford to loose. do not invest all you have just because of the huge profit involved. Anything can happen to an investment. Just like gambling with what you cant afford where there is no guarantee of your winning.

This is probably the most common tip or warning to newbie investors. Not just in crypto but investing in general. We can predict the future based on charts, research, and other information but there are always no guarantees of what will happen in the future.

Newbies over time are victims of this. Maybe because of greed or because they always thought that they are late if they take time to make thorough studies. When I started investing in crypto, I also felt the urge to invest right away so I won't be late but thanks to my patience and investment experiences, I did not dive right away.

This particular discussion has been discussed several times, however sharing new thoughts here will help newbies to navigate their way out in the crypto space. If you can't afford to lose the you are coming in to invest never try risking it, and too should never invest any funds on something you don't have proper understand of it and how it works, because this has been another problem why people lose money too. You can invest the money you can afford to lose, and loose it over and over again because you don't have proper knowledge of what you are doing.

Lastly Majority of times I have lost money in crypto and trading was as aresult of me being greedy and going all In, in order to catch everything at once, try using dollar cost averaging, so I would like newbies to take note of that and avoid being greed.

Beginners who come to crypto investment, of course they expect bigger profits, but sometimes they ignore the risks and this is very rare for beginners to pay attention to. They usually invest large amounts immediately expecting higher returns, even though it's not that easy. I used to experience being trapped in useless shitcoins, so here beginners have to be careful when jumping into crypto they have to have skills and if you want to be safer then just choose bitcoin as a long term investment because this will also produce better results but not instantly .

There are many methods how not to fall into the same hole, but beginners often don't learn from this, we need to be disciplined and not be greedy, let alone follow hype or fomo trends and if they are stupid they don't know about the shitcoin concept they are buying then it will lose because shitcoin is often disposed of by the coin maker.

You are right, the cryptocurrency market is very volatile and unstable, so it is not worth risking money that you cannot afford to lose. Research and understanding of the market, projects and technologies is essential before making an investment decision.
Also, investing in bitcoin alone is no guarantee of safety, as even bitcoin can be subject to significant price fluctuations. It is important to understand that investing in cryptocurrencies is a high-risk type of investment, so you should be careful and consider all possible scenarios before making a decision.

And when they lose and see their coins crashing, then they realized that they should be more cautious when investing and definitely be knowledgeable at first before they will reinvest. If only newbies will not be greedy in the first place, I guess losses will be somehow avoided and maybe if they prioritize bitcoin over altcoins, they will eventually gain profits than seeing their funds being used up from altcoins investment.

I disagree with you on this one mate, maybe perhaps you've not ventured into trading or investment before,I know Bitcoin may be subject to price fluctuations, but that doesn't guarantee  one not investing in it,Bitcoin is a life saver that is why you see some persons invest almost all they have into it,and when the market wants to be favourable, you will definitely smile out of the investment you made, but when a little money is put into it,and the market ends up being good, you will regret why you didn't use all the money you had at that time, forgeting the fact that you had the chance to use all the money you had,but sentiment didn't allow you use it.The moment you've made your research, plot your graph, and you see that the market season is a favourable one,use a huge amount to try it,and you might just end up being the next wealthiest man in your locality out of a smart and calculative move you made.

In fact, I would advise newbies to stay away from altcoins and only invest in Bitcoin in order to be on the safe side of the game, as there will be many shitcoins that will not recover after this bear market.

As a beginner, don't be overly eager to invest in any project without conducting your own thorough research.

every time we are bound to be met newbies who feel their choices are always the most appropriate and most correct even though that is just a delusion created by watching videos from shitcoin influencers.
I once had a big debate with a friend who claimed that altcoins were much better and more profitable than bitcoin but what is happening now, his capital is hidden because the shitcoin he bought has never experienced a price increase again even though at that time I advised him to think twice about buying the altcoins.

You're right; greed shouldn't make them jump in immediately without knowing what exactly that they jumped into is. Many beginners got attempted by evil people who were actually just trying to trap newbies so their bags could be sold. These evil people are offering something that's actually too good to be true, and something that's too good to be true sometimes isn't true at all. Don't believe that crypto could make you rich in one night, because it's not that easy anymore. People should be prepared, just like you've said, to lose some amount that they can afford, not that they can gain (some people even take out loans to invest, which is a big no-no). For beginners, bitcoin is a relatively safe area if you want to dip your foot in and test the water. Investing in Altcoin is another level of skill in investing; do it in steps to avoid a big loss.

Every beginners should definitely know this that everything about making an investment involves taking risk, most especially in dealing with other cryptocurrencies aside bitcoin, whereby we don't know the genuine intention of the developers, also we needed to have it in mind that everything has time a d season, we shouldn't rush or overracted in doing something, we have to put it at the back of our mind that ultimate research is needed and we should secure our investment and always make it private.

Newbies don't care to know about what they are investing in, most of them have little or no idea about bitcoin, they just hear people talking about bitcoin and they also want to invest, before investing in bitcoin, make sure you are having basic knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, don't just invest in what you don't know about. In Cryptocurrency also invest little amount you can afford to lose, don't sell your properties or take loan because you want to invest. Also always avoid altcoins, we all saw different altcoins that crashed last year and am sure more are still going to crash, altcoin investment is just like gambling, you will either win or lose.
Are you so sure? If I look at me when I'm just starting out, I always try not to lose. I always try to keep my capital growing. That's what I remember when I started, so it's wrong for beginners to always not have any attention to what they invest in.
I always try to learn with what I do. I marked it and will not do it again if it was a mistake. Because I never wanted to depend on anyone else even though so many services provide it. The result today I can enjoy the result.

Investing what you can afford to loss! Nobody want to invest to loss, sometimes is good to take a risk, there is saying that most of the successful people in the world today are all risk taker, if one is not ready to take a risk then that person is not ready to be successful, the main ideology is investing wisely and do not get too greed, and what I mean by do not get too greedy, is no one get rich overnight, is a process. so, where most people get carried away is when they have that mindset of getting rich immediately, that is where the greed comes to play.

Op your advices are so visible to every eyes, so I wish it can sink in the brain of every member reading it, though I'm always saying it too, I don't see any reason why someone should even invest with what you can't afford to lose, and later start been emotional when we all know Bitcoin is 50/50 either you make gain or loses, greed is another issues some bitcoiners are having, if you incurre loses in any trade, I will advice you relax first, monitor the trade before investing again, but some bitcoiners will want to regain any loses they incurre at once, and this will lead them to incure more loses, so I just hope they could avoid been greedy and trade with caution, thanks op for the lovely advice...

Even myself I would attest to that. Altcoins are never good for long term hodling, so once you are seeing altcoins are in profits, then take time to sell and never hold them longer. Otherwise, you will end up losing your expected profits once altcoins have suddenly drop their prices sharply leaving your portfolio not profitable anymore. And the sad reality is that, most of them cannot manage to recover anymore and left as dead coins. However, as a friendly advice, if you want to lessen the risk when it comes to investing, just try to avoid altcoins and stick with bitcoin and just simply work on it.

As a beginner, don't be overly eager to invest in any project without conducting your own thorough research.

Though I do agree with your statement, there are still some notable altcoins that are worth investing on. For example, ETH is a great altcoin where you can potentially earn large sums of money at the end but this would require either a short/long-term investment on your side. But if a person wants to maximize and capitalize on his investments, then investing in BTC may be the best move.

Personally, investing in BTC is the way to go. If you pair it up with one's personal research about the market and potential breakthroughs, the chances of a person profiting at the end is significantly high compared to the average person who invests without any resource or information at hand.

Let them do their thing, it's not as if all new projects are going to rugpull on investors like that, many of those investors you talking about are born ready to risk their money and only less people are scared of losing their money.

Yesterday  I found out that a meme coin called PEPE turned many into millionaires in a very short period of time, this mem coin has only 400,000 market cap when I came across the project and now its in millions, those who invested 50$ are now in millions of dollars. What will you say to this?

Those who took the opportunity will be in good shape right now and then can use the money to reinvest in Bitcoin and other big projects.

There should be nothing wrong if you are using the money you can afford to lose to invest in projects. Taking risks always have it's paying day.

I've noticed that a lot of people are entering the cryptocurrency sector to invest in one or two projects because they've heard that bull run is on away coming and that have  many  people have plans to invest a sizable sum of money in some way to ensure they don't miss the opportunities.
It will be beneficial to see more people investing in the cryptocurrency sector, particularly in bitcoin. Nobody who is aware of the cryptocurrency market and the impending bull run would want to miss the upcoming chance.

The cryptocurrency sector is not a place where someone can get rich quickly, and having that kind of mindset could cause someone to invest in a project that is not up to par for a person to invest in.Many new projects will launch during a bull run, but many of them will turn out to be scams  but at beginning with hype by crypto influencers it will look pretty good to invested in. If you're eager to succeed quickly, you risk being blind and investing in a scam project.
In fact, I would advise newbies to stay away from altcoins and only invest in Bitcoin in order to be on the safe side of the game, as there will be many shitcoins that will not recover after this bear market.

As a beginner, don't be overly eager to invest in any project without conducting your own thorough research.

As you stated, the best advice you can provide for beginner is to invest just in Bitcoin. Some alternative currencies are not harmful to invest in, but the issue is that beginners could be lack the good knowledge to properly study a cryptocurrency before investing. As a result, I agree with the advise given to beginners to adhere  to only Bitcoin.

This has been said countless times...
It's actually the reasons why anyone would wanna get on the quest to learn before the idea of creating an opportunity to earn. You can't earn as much as you think without learning on 'em preferences to do so... Every other time, the idea of seeing the learning process as a "waste of time" is usually the same idea that thrives the greed in 'em rookies, to COVERT all they want In a twinkle of an eye.
I will Always advise every newbie to quit the idea of rushing into anything.... That's actually what kills the zeal Cus you'll actually lose woefully.

PEPE? I thought that only like a Twitch-related stuff and I did not really expect any meme coins coming from it, but I guess...well it is a meme coin. :D

What can I say? I guess people were more like into hypes rather than utility of coins anyway. I wouldn't risk myself though. It is not just worth my mental health and my money to invest to any internet culture that should just stay as an internet culture.

This topic makes me feel some how,do some people really invest because of greed? I don't think any one invest because of greed, every one is looking for a way to have financial freedom, and they invest to be alright,I don't really think there is greed in investment. When we invest,we need profit,a gain that will satisfy us,one that will make us financially bouyant without complaint, but some persons see it as greed.
What I can call greed is when one is already fine, financially bouyant, and still invest as if he doesnt have nothing, that is when I can say one invests out of greed,if not,we just need to be okay,to be financially stable, and that's all.

The problems some beginners do have is that they only imagine only profit they can make in cryptocurrency, it feels as if the market will always be in favour to their investment,  so they do not think about the risk in the Market that can run down the plan of an investment if one is not very careful. Cryptocurrency is a profitable investment and it is also has some level of risk involve in it, because of the risk that is concerned with it beginners should be careful in investing only what they can afford to lose and never to think that crypto can make one to be rich .

Many beginners who jump into crypto investing are careless and don't understand the risks involved that can cost them. There are many aspects to consider when choosing a crypto coin to invest in, such as liquidity, market cap, adoption and development team.

It is also important for beginners to understand that not all crypto coins are created equal. There are some that have strong fundamentals and the potential to last a long time, while others may only be temporary and high-risk trends.

Your advice to choose Bitcoin as a long-term investment is appropriate. Bitcoin has a large market capitalization and is recognized by many as the most stable and reliable crypto coin. However, as you said, this is not an instant investment and it can take time to see results.

In crypto investing, it is important to have discipline and avoid greed. FOMO can cause someone to buy crypto coins without adequate research and chase trends without regard for the coin's fundamental value. Beginners should do sufficient research and make decisions based on careful analysis and good investment skills.

This is not the case in crypto, the longer the crypto lives, the more it becomes profitable. And obviously, it’s only bitcoin that has survived over a decade, and the rest are just good at the start but never sustain their value in the long run. That’s why we should only invest in bitcoin and get rid of altcoins.

I agree with you completely, comrade. The fundamental mistake that people tend to make when they think about getting rich is to be in a hurry, and this often leads to losing everything. In the environment we are in, it also often leads to trying to guess the next altcoin that will make 100x in a short period of time.

What you say is not true, mate. Yes, there are greedy people who invest greedily, and by no means all of us who invest are seeking financial freedom. Many of us are simply securing an easier future. I think you make the mistake of thinking that everyone thinks like you do.

I completely agree with your advice. It's important for new investors in the cryptocurrency industry to exercise caution and do their own research before investing. The cryptocurrency market can be very volatile and unpredictable, and investing large sums of money without proper knowledge and research can lead to financial losses.

It's also important to diversify your investments across different projects and not put all your eggs in one basket. While Bitcoin may be considered a safer investment option, it's still important to research and understand the risks associated with investing in it.

In addition, investors should be wary of anyone promising guaranteed returns or making unrealistic claims about the potential for huge profits. These are often scams and should be avoided at all costs.

Overall, investing in cryptocurrency can be a great opportunity, but it's important to approach it with caution and make informed decisions based on thorough research and understanding of the market

I believe what distinguishes Bitcoin from other Layer 1 blockchains is the absence of other tokens like Ethereum. When you examine Ethereum's performance, you will see that it has developed significantly in the same way that Bitcoin has over time, but it is constantly experiencing setbacks due to the tokens in its ecosystem, and what happens most frequently is that investors are duped by those small projects, either by rug pull or sell off by the team, and the trust is no longer there with the investors in the Ethereum chain, anuything that Bitcoin currently has, I believe Ethereum also has it.

As a newbie in the crypto space, bitcoins is the way to go until you have a proper knowledge about altcoins and how to recognize those ones that can survive the test of time.  The promise of high unrealistic APR and increase in price is a red flag to some of those projects.

Yes, bitcoin is always the primary choice for crypto investment. It's always at the top and in the last years, we never experienced problems in its network, unlike the other blockchains and projects that are experiencing hacks and other issues.

Any project that provides a high APR is already unreliable. Maybe 6% is the highest but this is not even suitable for new projects and those that have low volume in the market. I would rather enjoy gambling with good chances of winning, especially in sports than risk in any hyped crypto projects that have bad tokenomics.

Your words are too wise but I was really worried about it considering you are one consistent bounty hunter to spam social media with some scam projects. Why did you waste so much time doing it instead of learning so much about bitcoin? Don't you feel it's worth your effort?

Bitcoin is a wise choice to be the main goal for non-experience beginners, but they must learn and know how to avoid mistakes that will completely cost them. Beginners can buy and hold while learning bitcoin, bitcoin is recommended than of altcoin.
